The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;

To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;
| 2 Para entender sabiduría y doctrina,
Para conocer razones prudentes, | 2 um zu lernen Weisheit und Zucht und zu verstehen verständige Rede, |

To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;
| 3 Para recibir el consejo de prudencia,
Justicia, juicio y equidad; | 3 daß man annehme Zucht, die da klug macht, Gerechtigkeit, Recht und Redlichkeit; |

To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.
| 4 Para dar sagacidad a los simples,
Y a los jóvenes inteligencia y cordura. | 4 daß die Unverständigen klug werden und die Jünglinge vernünftig und besonnen. |

A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:
| 5 Oirá el sabio, y aumentará el saber,
Y el entendido adquirirá consejo, | 5 Wer weise ist, der höre zu und wachse an Weisheit, und wer verständig ist, der lasse sich raten, |

To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.

Palabras de sabios, y sus dichos profundos. | 6 daß er verstehe Sprüche und Gleichnisse, die Worte der Weisen und ihre Rätsel. |

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
| 7 El principio de la sabiduría es el temor de Jehová;
Los insensatos desprecian la sabiduría y la enseñanza. | 7 Die Furcht des HERRN ist der Anfang der Erkenntnis. Die Toren verachten Weisheit und Zucht. |

My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
| 8 Oye,hijo mío, la instrucción de tu padre,
Y no desprecies la dirección de tu madre; | 8 Mein Sohn, gehorche der Zucht deines Vaters und verlaß nicht das Gebot deiner Mutter; |

For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.
| 9 Porque adorno de gracia serán a tu cabeza,
Y collares a tu cuello. | 9 denn das ist ein schöner Schmuck für dein Haupt und eine Kette an deinem Halse. |

My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.
| 10 Hijo mío, si los pecadores te quisieren engañar,
No consientas. | 10 Mein Sohn, wenn dich die bösen Buben locken, so folge nicht. |

If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:
| 11 Si dijeren: Ven con nosotros;
Pongamos asechanzas para derramar sangre,
Acechemos sin motivo al inocente; | 11 Wenn sie sagen: "Geh mit uns! Wir wollen auf Blut lauern und den Unschuldigen nachstellen ohne Grund; |

Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:
| 12 Los tragaremos vivos como el Seol,
Y enteros, como los que caen en un abismo; | 12 wir wollen sie verschlingen wie das Totenreich die Lebendigen, und die Frommen sollen sein wie die, welche hinunter in die Grube fahren; |

We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:
| 13 Hallaremos riquezas de toda clase,
Llenaremos nuestras casas de despojos; | 13 wir wollen kostbares Gut finden, wir wollen unsre Häuser mit Raub füllen; |

Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:
| 14 Echa tu suerte entre nosotros;
Tengamos todos una bolsa, | 14 wage es mit uns! Einen Beutel nur soll es für uns alle geben": |

My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:
| 15 Hijo mío, no andes en camino con ellos.
Aparta tu pie de sus veredas, | 15 mein Sohn, wandle den Weg nicht mit ihnen, halte deinen Fuß fern von ihrem Pfad; |

For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.
| 16 Porque sus pies corren hacia el mal,
Y van presurosos a derramar sangre. | 16 denn ihre Füße laufen zum Bösen und eilen, Blut zu vergießen. |

Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.
| 17 Porque en vano se tenderá la red
Ante los ojos de toda ave; | 17 Man spannt das Netz vor den Augen der Vögel, doch lassen sie sich nicht warnen; |

And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives.
| 18 Pero ellos a su propia sangre ponen asechanzas,
Y a sus almas tienden lazo. | 18 so lauern jene auf ihr eigenes Blut und trachten sich selbst nach dem Leben. |

So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.
| 19 Tales son las sendas de todo el que es dado a la codicia,
La cual quita la vida de sus poseedores. | 19 So geht es allen, die nach unrechtem Gewinn trachten; er nimmt ihnen das Leben. |

Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:
| 20 La sabiduría clama en las calles,
Alza su voz en las plazas; | 20 Die Weisheit ruft laut auf der Straße und läßt ihre Stimme hören auf den Plätzen. |

She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,
| 21 Clama en los principales lugares de reunión;
En las entradas de las puertas de la ciudad dice sus razones. | 21 Sie ruft im lautesten Getümmel, am Eingang der Tore, sie redet ihre Worte in der Stadt: |

How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?
| 22 ¿Hasta cuándo, oh simples, amaréis la simpleza,
Y los burladores desearán el burlar,
Y los insensatos aborrecerán la ciencia? | 22 Wie lange wollt ihr Unverständigen unverständig sein und ihr Spötter Lust zu Spötterei haben und ihr Toren die Erkenntnis hassen? |

Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.
| 23 Volveos a mi reprensión;
He aquí yo derramaré mi espíritu sobre vosotros,
Y os haré saber mis palabras. | 23 Kehret euch zu meiner Zurechtweisung! Siehe, ich will über euch strömen lassen meinen Geist und euch meine Worte kundtun. |

Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
| 24 Por cuanto llamé, y no quisisteis oír,
Extendí mi mano, y no hubo quien atendiese, | 24 Wenn ich aber rufe und ihr euch weigert, wenn ich meine Hand ausstrecke und niemand darauf achtet, |

But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
| 25 Sino que desechasteis todo consejo mío
Y mi reprensión no quisisteis, | 25 wenn ihr fahren laßt all meinen Rat und meine Zurechtweisung nicht wollt: |

I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
| 26 También yo me reiré en vuestra calamidad,
Y me burlaré cuando os viniere lo que teméis; | 26 dann will ich auch lachen bei eurem Unglück und euer spotten, wenn da kommt, was ihr fürchtet; |

When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.
| 27 Cuando viniere como una destrucción lo que teméis,
Y vuestra calamidad llegare como un torbellino;
Cuando sobre vosotros viniere tribulación y angustia. | 27 wenn über euch kommt wie ein Sturm, was ihr fürchtet, und euer Unglück wie ein Wetter; wenn über euch Angst und Not kommt. |

Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
| 28 Entonces me llamarán, y no responderé;
Me buscarán de mañana, y no me hallarán. | 28 Dann werden sie nach mir rufen, aber ich werde nicht antworten; sie werden mich suchen und nicht finden. |

For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:
| 29 Por cuanto aborrecieron la sabiduría,
Y no escogieron el temor de Jehová, | 29 Weil sie die Erkenntnis haßten und die Furcht des HERRN nicht erwählten, |

They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.
| 30 Ni quisieron mi consejo,
Y menospreciaron toda reprensión mía, | 30 meinen Rat nicht wollten und all meine Zurechtweisung verschmähten, |

Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.
| 31 Comerán del fruto de su camino,
Y serán hastiados de sus propios consejos. | 31 darum sollen sie essen von den Früchten ihres Wandels und satt werden an ihren Ratschlägen. |

For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.
| 32 Porque el desvío de los ignorantes los matará,
Y la prosperidad de los necios los echará a perder; | 32 Denn den Unverständigen bringt ihre Abkehr den Tod, und die Toren bringt ihre Sorglosigkeit um; |

But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil. | 33 Mas el que me oyere, habitará confiadamente
Y vivirá tranquilo, sin temor del mal. | 33 wer aber mir gehorcht, wird sicher wohnen und ohne Sorge sein und kein Unglück fürchten. |
