And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples,
| 1 Cuando hubo acabado Jesús todas estas palabras, | 1 Und es begab sich, als Jesus alle diese Reden vollendet hatte, daß er zu seinen Jüngern sprach: |

Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.
| 2 Sabéis que dentro de dos días se celebra la pascua, y el Hijo del Hombre será entregado para ser crucificado. | 2 Ihr wißt, daß in zwei Tagen Passa ist; und der Menschensohn wird überantwortet werden, daß er gekreuzigt werde. |

Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,
| 3 Entonces los principales sacerdotes, los escribas, y los ancianos del pueblo se reunieron en el patio del sumo sacerdote llamado Caifás, | 3 Da versammelten sich die Hohenpriester und die Ältesten des Volkes im Palast des Hohenpriesters, der hieß Kaiphas, |

And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill him.
| 4 y tuvieron consejo para prender con engaño a Jesús, y matarle. | 4 und hielten Rat, wie sie Jesus mit List ergreifen und töten könnten. |

But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.
| 5 Pero decían: No durante la fiesta, para que no se haga alboroto en el pueblo. | 5 Sie sprachen aber: Ja nicht bei dem Fest, damit es nicht einen Aufruhr gebe im Volk. |

Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,

There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.

But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?

For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.
| 9 Porque esto podía haberse vendido a gran precio, y haberse dado a los pobres. | 9 Es hätte teuer verkauft und das Geld den Armen gegeben werden können. |

When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me.
| 10 Y entendiéndolo Jesús, les dijo: ¿Por qué molestáis a esta mujer? pues ha hecho conmigo una buena obra. | 10 Als Jesus das merkte, sprach er zu ihnen: Was betrübt ihr die Frau? Sie hat ein gutes Werk an mir getan. |

For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.
| 11 Porque siempre tendréis pobres con vosotros, pero a mí no siempre me tendréis. | 11 Denn Arme habt ihr allezeit bei euch, mich aber habt ihr nicht allezeit. |

For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial.
| 12 Porque al derramar este perfume sobre mi cuerpo, lo ha hecho a fin de prepararme para la sepultura. | 12 Daß sie das Öl auf meinen Leib gegossen hat, das hat sie für mein Begräbnis getan. |

Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.
| 13 De cierto os digo que dondequiera que se predique este evangelio, en todo el mundo, también se contará lo que ésta ha hecho, para memoria de ella. | 13 Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wo dies Evangelium gepredigt wird in der ganzen Welt, da wird man auch sagen zu ihrem Gedächtnis, was sie getan hat. |

Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,
| 14 Entonces uno de los doce, que se llamaba Judas Iscariote, fue a los principales sacerdotes, | 14 Da ging einer von den Zwölfen, mit Namen Judas Iskariot, hin zu den Hohenpriestern |

And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.
| 15 y les dijo: ¿Qué me queréis dar, y yo os lo entregaré? Y ellos le asignaron treinta piezas de plata. | 15 und sprach: Was wollt ihr mir geben? Ich will ihn euch verraten. Und sie boten ihm dreißig Silberlinge. |

And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.
| 16 Y desde entonces buscaba oportunidad para entregarle. | 16 Und von da an suchte er eine Gelegenheit, daß er ihn verriete. |

Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?
| 17 El primer día de la fiesta de los panes sin levadura, vinieron los discípulos a Jesús, diciéndole: ¿Dónde quieres que preparemos para que comas la pascua? | 17 Aber am ersten Tage der Ungesäuerten Brote traten die Jünger zu Jesus und fragten: Wo willst du, daß wir dir das Passalamm zum Essen bereiten? |

And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples.
| 18 Y él dijo: Id a la ciudad a cierto hombre, y decidle: El Maestro dice: Mi tiempo está cerca; en tu casa celebraré la pascua con mis discípulos. | 18 Er sprach: Geht hin in die Stadt zu einem und sprecht zu ihm: Der Meister läßt dir sagen: Meine Zeit ist nahe; ich will bei dir das Passa feiern mit meinen Jüngern. |

And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.
| 19 Y los discípulos hicieron como Jesús les mandó, y prepararon la pascua. | 19 Und die Jünger taten, wie ihnen Jesus befohlen hatte, und bereiteten das Passalamm. |

Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve.

And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
| 21 Y mientras comían, dijo: De cierto os digo, que uno de vosotros me va a entregar. | 21 Und als sie aßen, sprach er: Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Einer unter euch wird mich verraten. |

And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I?
| 22 Y entristecidos en gran manera, comenzó cada uno de ellos a decirle: ¿Soy yo, Señor? | 22 Und sie wurden sehr betrübt und fingen an, jeder einzeln, ihn zu fragen: Herr, bin ich's? |

And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.
| 23 Entonces él respondiendo, dijo: El que mete la mano conmigo en el plato, ése me va a entregar. | 23 Er antwortete und sprach: Der die Hand mit mir in die Schüssel taucht, der wird mich verraten. |

The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.
| 24 A la verdad el Hijo del Hombre va, según está escrito de él, mas ¡ay de aquel hombre por quien el Hijo del Hombre es entregado! Bueno le fuera a ese hombre no haber nacido. | 24 Der Menschensohn geht zwar dahin, wie von ihm geschrieben steht; doch weh dem Menschen, durch den der Menschensohn verraten wird! Es wäre für diesen Menschen besser, wenn er nie geboren wäre. |

Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.
| 25 Entonces respondiendo Judas, el que le entregaba, dijo: ¿Soy yo, Maestro? Le dijo: Tú lo has dicho. | 25 Da antwortete Judas, der ihn verriet, und sprach: Bin ich's, Rabbi? Er sprach zu ihm: Du sagst es. |

And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.

And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;

For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
| 28 porque esto es mi sangre del nuevo pacto, que por muchos es derramada para remisión de los pecados. | 28 das ist mein Blut des Bundes,* das vergossen wird für viele zur Vergebung der Sünden. |

But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.
| 29 Y os digo que desde ahora no beberé más de este fruto de la vid, hasta aquel día en que lo beba nuevo con vosotros en el reino de mi Padre. | 29 Ich sage euch: Ich werde von nun an nicht mehr von diesem Gewächs des Weinstocks trinken bis an den Tag, an dem ich von neuem davon trinken werde mit euch in meines Vaters Reich. |

And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.
| 30 Y cuando hubieron cantado el himno, salieron al monte de los Olivos. | 30 Und als sie den Lobgesang gesungen hatten, gingen sie hinaus an den Ölberg. |

Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.
| 31 Entonces Jesús les dijo: Todos vosotros os escandalizaréis de mí esta noche; porque escrito está: Heriré al pastor, y las ovejas del rebaño serán dispersadas. | 31 Da sprach Jesus zu ihnen: In dieser Nacht werdet ihr alle Ärgernis nehmen an mir. Denn es steht geschrieben (Sacharja 13,7): "Ich werde den Hirten schlagen, und die Schafe der Herde werden sich zerstreuen." |

But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.

Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended.
| 33 Respondiendo Pedro, le dijo: Aunque todos se escandalicen de ti, yo nunca me escandalizaré. | 33 Petrus aber antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Wenn sie auch alle Ärgernis nehmen, so will ich doch niemals Ärgernis nehmen an dir. |

Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.
| 34 Jesús le dijo: De cierto te digo que esta noche, antes que el gallo cante, me negarás tres veces. | 34 Jesus sprach zu ihm: Wahrlich, ich sage dir: In dieser Nacht, ehe der Hahn kräht, wirst du mich dreimal verleugnen. |

Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.

Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.
| 36 Entonces llegó Jesús con ellos a un lugar que se llama Getsemaní, y dijo a sus discípulos: Sentaos aquí, entre tanto que voy allí y oro. | 36 Da kam Jesus mit ihnen zu einem Garten, der hieß Gethsemane, und sprach zu den Jüngern: Setzt euch hier, solange ich dorthin gehe und bete. |

And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.
| 37 Y tomando a Pedro, y a los dos hijos de Zebedeo, comenzó a entristecerse y a angustiarse en gran manera. | 37 Und er nahm mit sich Petrus und die zwei Söhne des Zebedäus und fing an zu trauern und zu zagen. |

Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
| 38 Entonces Jesús les dijo: Mi alma está muy triste, hasta la muerte; quedaos aquí, y velad conmigo. | 38 Da sprach Jesus zu ihnen: Meine Seele ist betrübt bis an den Tod; bleibt hier und wacht mit mir! |

And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
| 39 Yendo un poco adelante, se postró sobre su rostro, orando y diciendo: Padre mío, si es posible, pase de mí esta copa; pero no sea como yo quiero, sino como tú. | 39 Und er ging ein wenig weiter, fiel nieder auf sein Angesicht und betete und sprach: Mein Vater, ist's möglich, so gehe dieser Kelch an mir vorüber; doch nicht wie ich will, sondern wie du willst! |

And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?
| 40 Vino luego a sus discípulos, y los halló durmiendo, y dijo a Pedro: ¿Así que no habéis podido velar conmigo una hora? | 40 Und er kam zu seinen Jüngern und fand sie schlafend und sprach zu Petrus: Könnt ihr denn nicht eine Stunde mit mir wachen? |

Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
| 41 Velad y orad, para que no entréis en tentación; el espíritu a la verdad está dispuesto, pero la carne es débil. | 41 Wachet und betet, daß ihr nicht in Anfechtung fallt! Der Geist ist willig; aber das Fleisch ist schwach. |

He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.
| 42 Otra vez fue, y oró por segunda vez, diciendo: Padre mío, si no puede pasar de mí esta copa sin que yo la beba, hágase tu voluntad. | 42 Zum zweiten Mal ging er wieder hin, betete und sprach: Mein Vater, ist's nicht möglich, daß dieser Kelch an mir vorübergehe, ohne daß ich ihn trinke, so geschehe dein Wille! |

And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.
| 43 Vino otra vez y los halló durmiendo, porque los ojos de ellos estaban cargados de sueño. | 43 Und er kam und fand sie abermals schlafend, und ihre Augen waren voller Schlaf. |

And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.
| 44 Y dejándolos, se fue de nuevo, y oró por tercera vez, diciendo las mismas palabras. | 44 Und er ließ sie und ging abermals hin und betete zum dritten Mal und redete dieselben Worte. |

Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
| 45 Entonces vino a sus discípulos y les dijo: Dormid ya, y descansad. He aquí ha llegado la hora, y el Hijo del Hombre es entregado en manos de pecadores. | 45 Dann kam er zu seinen Jüngern und sprach zu ihnen: Ach, wollt ihr weiter schlafen und ruhen? Siehe, die Stunde ist da, daß der Menschensohn in die Hände der Sünder überantwortet wird. |

Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.

And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.
| 47 Mientras todavía hablaba, vino Judas, uno de los doce, y con él mucha gente con espadas y palos, de parte de los principales sacerdotes y de los ancianos del pueblo. | 47 Und als er noch redete, siehe, da kam Judas, einer von den Zwölfen, und mit ihm eine große Schar mit Schwertern und mit Stangen, von den Hohenpriestern und Ältesten des Volkes. |

Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.
| 48 Y el que le entregaba les había dado señal, diciendo: Al que yo besare, ése es; prendedle. | 48 Und der Verräter hatte ihnen ein Zeichen genannt und gesagt: Welchen ich küssen werde, der ist's; den ergreift. |

And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.

And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.

And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear.
| 51 Pero uno de los que estaban con Jesús, extendiendo la mano, sacó su espada, e hiriendo a un siervo del sumo sacerdote, le quitó la oreja. | 51 Und siehe, einer von denen, die bei Jesus waren, streckte die Hand aus und zog sein Schwert und schlug nach dem Knecht des Hohenpriesters und hieb ihm ein Ohr ab. |

Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
| 52 Entonces Jesús le dijo: Vuelve tu espada a su lugar; porque todos los que tomen espada, a espada perecerán. | 52 Da sprach Jesus zu ihm: Stecke dein Schwert an seinen Ort! Denn wer das Schwert nimmt, der soll durchs Schwert umkommen. |

Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
| 53 ¿Acaso piensas que no puedo ahora orar a mi Padre, y que él no me daría más de doce legiones de ángeles? | 53 Oder meinst du, ich könnte meinen Vater nicht bitten, daß er mir sogleich mehr als zwölf Legionen Engel schickte? |

But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?

In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.
| 55 En aquella hora dijo Jesús a la gente: ¿Como contra un ladrón habéis salido con espadas y con palos para prenderme? Cada día me sentaba con vosotros enseñando en el templo, y no me prendisteis. | 55 Zu der Stunde sprach Jesus zu der Schar: Ihr seid ausgezogen wie gegen einen Räuber mit Schwertern und mit Stangen, mich zu fangen. Habe ich doch täglich im Tempel gesessen und gelehrt, und ihr habt mich nicht ergriffen. |

But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.
| 56 Mas todo esto sucede, para que se cumplan las Escrituras de los profetas. Entonces todos los discípulos, dejándole, huyeron. | 56 Aber das ist alles geschehen, damit erfüllt würden die Schriften der Propheten. Da verließen ihn alle Jünger und flohen. |

And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.
| 57 Los que prendieron a Jesús le llevaron al sumo sacerdote Caifás, adonde estaban reunidos los escribas y los ancianos. | 57 Die aber Jesus ergriffen hatten, führten ihn zu dem Hohenpriester Kaiphas, wo die Schriftgelehrten und Ältesten sich versammelt hatten. |

But Peter followed him afar off unto the high priest's palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the end.
| 58 Mas Pedro le seguía de lejos hasta el patio del sumo sacerdote; y entrando, se sentó con los alguaciles, para ver el fin. | 58 Petrus aber folgte ihm von ferne bis zum Palast des Hohenpriesters und ging hinein und setzte sich zu den Knechten, um zu sehen, worauf es hinaus wollte. |

Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;
| 59 Y los principales sacerdotes y los ancianos y todo el concilio, buscaban falso testimonio contra Jesús, para entregarle a la muerte, | 59 Die Hohenpriester aber und der ganze Hohe Rat suchten falsches Zeugnis gegen Jesus, daß sie ihn töteten. |

But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses,
| 60 y no lo hallaron, aunque muchos testigos falsos se presentaban. Pero al fin vinieron dos testigos falsos, | 60 Und obwohl viele falsche Zeugen herzutraten, fanden sie doch nichts. Zuletzt traten zwei herzu |

And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.
| 61 que dijeron: Este dijo: Puedo derribar el templo de Dios, y en tres días reedificarlo. | 61 und sprachen: Er hat gesagt: Ich kann den Tempel Gottes abbrechen und in drei Tagen aufbauen. |

And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?
| 62 Y levantándose el sumo sacerdote, le dijo: ¿No respondes nada? ¿Qué testifican éstos contra ti? | 62 Und der Hohepriester stand auf und sprach zu ihm: Antwortest du nichts auf das, was diese gegen dich bezeugen? |

But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.
| 63 Mas Jesús callaba. Entonces el sumo sacerdote le dijo: Te conjuro por el Dios viviente, que nos digas si eres tú el Cristo, el Hijo de Dios. | 63 Aber Jesus schwieg still. Und der Hohepriester sprach zu ihm: Ich beschwöre dich bei dem lebendigen Gott, daß du uns sagst, ob du der Christus bist, der Sohn Gottes. |

Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
| 64 Jesús le dijo: Tú lo has dicho; y además os digo, que desde ahora veréis al Hijo del Hombre sentado a la diestra del poder de Dios, y viniendo en las nubes del cielo. | 64 Jesus sprach zu ihm: Du sagst es. Doch sage ich euch: Von nun an werdet ihr sehen den Menschensohn sitzen zur Rechten der Kraft und kommen auf den Wolken des Himmels. |

Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.
| 65 Entonces el sumo sacerdote rasgó sus vestiduras, diciendo: ¡Ha blasfemado! ¿Qué más necesidad tenemos de testigos? He aquí, ahora mismo habéis oído su blasfemia. | 65 Da zerriß der Hohepriester seine Kleider und sprach: Er hat Gott gelästert! Was bedürfen wir weiterer Zeugen? And after a while came unto him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art one of them; for thy speech bewrayeth thee.

Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.

And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly. | 75 Entonces Pedro se acordó de las palabras de Jesús, que le había dicho: Antes que cante el gallo, me negarás tres veces. Y saliendo fuera, lloró amargamente. | 75 Da dachte Petrus an das Wort, das Jesus zu ihm gesagt hatte: Ehe der Hahn kräht, wirst du mich dreimal verleugnen. Und er ging hinaus und weinte bitterlich. |
