Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,

Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.
| 4 Y convocados todos los principales sacerdotes, y los escribas del pueblo, les preguntó dónde había de nacer el Cristo. | 4 und er ließ zusammenkommen alle Hohenpriester und Schriftgelehrten des Volkes und erforschte von ihnen, wo der Christus geboren werden sollte. |

And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,

And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.

No eres la más pequeña entre los príncipes de Judá;
Porque de ti saldrá un guiador,

Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.
| 7 Entonces Herodes, llamando en secreto a los magos, indagó de ellos diligentemente el tiempo de la aparición de la estrella; | 7 Da rief Herodes die Weisen heimlich zu sich und erkundete genau von ihnen, wann der Stern erschienen wäre, |

And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.

When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.
| 9 Ellos, habiendo oído al rey, se fueron; y he aquí la estrella que habían visto en el oriente iba delante de ellos, hasta que llegando, se detuvo sobre donde estaba el niño. | 9 Als sie nun den König gehört hatten, zogen sie hin. Und siehe, der Stern, den sie im Morgenland gesehen hatten, ging vor ihnen her, bis er über dem Ort stand, wo das Kindlein war. |

When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.

And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
| 11 Y al entrar en la casa, vieron al niño con su madre María, y postrándose, lo adoraron; y abriendo sus tesoros, le ofrecieron presentes: oro, incienso y mirra. | 11 und gingen in das Haus und fanden das Kindlein mit Maria, seiner Mutter, und fielen nieder und beteten es an und taten ihre Schätze auf und schenkten ihm Gold, Weihrauch und Myrrhe. |

And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.
| 12 Pero siendo avisados por revelación en sueños que no volviesen a Herodes, regresaron a su tierra por otro camino. | 12 Und Gott befahl ihnen im Traum, nicht wieder zu Herodes zurückzukehren; und sie zogen auf einem andern Weg wieder in ihr Land. |

And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.
| 13 Después que partieron ellos, he aquí un ángel del Señor apareció en sueños a José y dijo: Levántate y toma al niño y a su madre, y huye a Egipto, y permanece allá hasta que yo te diga; porque acontecerá que Herodes buscará al niño para matarlo. | 13 Als sie aber hinweggezogen waren, siehe, da erschien der Engel des Herrn dem Josef im Traum und sprach: Steh auf, nimm das Kindlein und seine Mutter mit dir und flieh nach Ägypten und bleib dort, bis ich dir's sage; denn Herodes hat vor, das Kindlein zu suchen, um es umzubringen. |

When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:
| 14 Y él, despertando, tomó de noche al niño y a su madre, y se fue a Egipto, | 14 Da stand er auf und nahm das Kindlein und seine Mutter mit sich bei Nacht und entwich nach Ägypten |

And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.
| 15 y estuvo allá hasta la muerte de Herodes; para que se cumpliese lo que dijo el Señor por medio del profeta, cuando dijo: De Egipto llamé a mi Hijo. | 15 und blieb dort bis nach dem Tod des Herodes, damit erfüllt würde, was der Herr durch den Propheten gesagt hat, der da spricht (Hosea 11,1): "Aus Ägypten habe ich meinen Sohn gerufen." |

Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men.
| 16 Herodes entonces, cuando se vio burlado por los magos, se enojó mucho, y mandó matar a todos los niños menores de dos años que había en Belén y en todos sus alrededores, conforme al tiempo que había inquirido de los magos. | 16 Als Herodes nun sah, daß er von den Weisen betrogen war, wurde er sehr zornig und schickte aus und ließ alle Kinder in Bethlehem töten und in der ganzen Gegend, die zweijährig und darunter waren, nach der Zeit, die er von den Weisen genau erkundet hatte. |

Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying,

In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not.

But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,
| 19 Pero después de muerto Herodes, he aquí un ángel del Señor apareció en sueños a José en Egipto, | 19 Als aber Herodes gestorben war, siehe, da erschien der Engel des Herrn dem Josef im Traum in Ägypten |

Saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the young child's life.
| 20 diciendo: Levántate, toma al niño y a su madre, y vete a tierra de Israel, porque han muerto los que procuraban la muerte del niño. | 20 und sprach: Steh auf, nimm das Kindlein und seine Mutter mit dir und zieh hin in das Land Israel; sie sind gestorben, die dem Kindlein nach dem Leben getrachtet haben. |

And he arose, and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel.
| 21 Entonces él se levantó, y tomó al niño y a su madre, y vino a tierra de Israel. | 21 Da stand er auf und nahm das Kindlein und seine Mutter mit sich und kam in das Land Israel. |

But when he heard that Archelaus did reign in Judaea in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither: notwithstanding, being warned of God in a dream, he turned aside into the parts of Galilee:
| 22 Pero oyendo que Arquelao reinaba en Judea en lugar de Herodes su padre, tuvo temor de ir allá; pero avisado por revelación en sueños, se fue a la región de Galilea, | 22 Als er aber hörte, daß Archelaus in Judäa König war anstatt seines Vaters Herodes, fürchtete er sich, dorthin zu gehen. Und im Traum empfing er Befehl von Gott und zog ins galiläische Land |

And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene. | 23 y vino y habitó en la ciudad que se llama Nazaret, para que se cumpliese lo que fue dicho por los profetas, que habría de ser llamado nazareno. | 23 und kam und wohnte in einer Stadt mit Namen Nazareth, damit erfüllt würde, was gesagt ist durch die Propheten: Er soll Nazoräer* heißen. |
