And the men of Ephraim said unto him, Why hast thou served us thus, that thou calledst us not, when thou wentest to fight with the Midianites? And they did chide with him sharply.
| 1 Pero los hombres de Efraín le dijeron: ¿Qué es esto que has hecho con nosotros, no llamándonos cuando ibas a la guerra contra Madián? Y le reconvinieron fuertemente. | 1 Da sprachen die Männer von Ephraim zu ihm: Warum hast du uns das angetan, daß du uns nicht riefst, als du in den Kampf zogst gegen die Midianiter? Und sie zankten heftig mit ihm. |

And he said unto them, What have I done now in comparison of you? Is not the gleaning of the grapes of Ephraim better than the vintage of Abi-ezer?
| 2 A los cuales él respondió: ¿Qué he hecho yo ahora comparado con vosotros? ¿No es el rebusco de Efraín mejor que la vendimia de Abiezer? | 2 Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Was hab ich jetzt getan, das eurer Tat gleich sei? Ist nicht die Nachlese Ephraims besser als die ganze Weinernt Abïsers? |

God hath delivered into your hands the princes of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb: and what was I able to do in comparison of you? Then their anger was abated toward him, when he had said that.
| 3 Dios ha entregado en vuestras manos a Oreb y a Zeeb, príncipes de Madián; ¿y qué he podido yo hacer comparado con vosotros? Entonces el enojo de ellos contra él se aplacó, luego que él habló esta palabra. | 3 Gott hat die Fürsten der Midianiter, Oreb und Seeb, in eure Hände gegeben. Was hab ich zu tun vermocht gegen das, was ihr getan habt? Als er das sagte, ließ ihr Zorn von ihm ab. |

And Gideon came to Jordan, and passed over, he, and the three hundred men that were with him, faint, yet pursuing them.
| 4 Y vino Gedeón al Jordán, y pasó él y los trescientos hombres que traía consigo, cansados, mas todavía persiguiendo. | 4 Als nun Gideon an den Jordan kam, ging er hinüber mit den dreihundert Mann, die bei ihm waren; die waren müde und jagten den Feinden nach. |

And he said unto the men of Succoth, Give, I pray you, loaves of bread unto the people that follow me; for they be faint, and I am pursuing after Zebah and Zalmunna, kings of Midian.
| 5 Y dijo a los de Sucot: Yo os ruego que deis a la gente que me sigue algunos bocados de pan; porque están cansados, y yo persigo a Zeba y Zalmuna, reyes de Madián. | 5 Da bat er die Leute von Sukkot: Gebt doch dem Volk, das mir auf dem Fuße folgt, Brote; denn sie sind müde, und ich muß nachjagen den Königen der Midianiter, Sebach und Zalmunna. |

And the princes of Succoth said, Are the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna now in thine hand, that we should give bread unto thine army?
| 6 Y los principales de Sucot respondieron: ¿Están ya Zeba y Zalmuna en tu mano, para que demos pan a tu ejército? | 6 Aber die Oberen von Sukkot sprachen: Sind die Fäuste Sebachs und Zalmunnas schon in deinen Händen, daß wir deinem Heer Brot geben sollen? |

And Gideon said, Therefore when the LORD hath delivered Zebah and Zalmunna into mine hand, then I will tear your flesh with the thorns of the wilderness and with briers.
| 7 Y Gedeón dijo: Cuando Jehová haya entregado en mi mano a Zeba y a Zalmuna, yo trillaré vuestra carne con espinos y abrojos del desierto. | 7 Gideon sprach: Wohlan, wenn der HERR Sebach und Zalmunna in meine Hand gibt, will ich euer Fleisch mit Dornen aus der Wüste und mit Stacheln zerdreschen. |

And he went up thence to Penuel, and spake unto them likewise: and the men of Penuel answered him as the men of Succoth had answered him.
| 8 De allí subió a Peniel, y les dijo las mismas palabras. Y los de Peniel le respondieron como habían respondido los de Sucot. | 8 Und er zog von dort hinauf nach Pnuël und redete ebenso mit ihnen. Und die Leute von Pnuël antworteten ihm dasselbe wie die von Sukkot. |

And he spake also unto the men of Penuel, saying, When I come again in peace, I will break down this tower.
| 9 Y él habló también a los de Peniel, diciendo: Cuando yo vuelva en paz, derribaré esta torre. | 9 Und er sprach auch zu den Leuten von Pnuël: Komm ich heil wieder, so will ich diese Burg niederreißen. |

Now Zebah and Zalmunna were in Karkor, and their hosts with them, about fifteen thousand men, all that were left of all the hosts of the children of the east: for there fell an hundred and twenty thousand men that drew sword.
| 10 Y Zeba y Zalmuna estaban en Carcor, y con ellos su ejército como de quince mil hombres, todos los que habían quedado de todo el ejército de los hijos del oriente; pues habían caído ciento veinte mil hombres que sacaban espada. | 10 Sebach aber und Zalmunna waren in Karkor und ihr Heerlager mit ihnen, etwa fünfzehntausend, alle, die übriggeblieben waren vom ganzen Heer derer aus dem Osten; denn hundertundzwanzigtausend waren gefallen, die das Schwert ziehen konnten. |

And Gideon went up by the way of them that dwelt in tents on the east of Nobah and Jogbehah, and smote the host: for the host was secure.
| 11 Subiendo, pues, Gedeón por el camino de los que habitaban en tiendas al oriente de Noba y de Jogbeha, atacó el campamento, porque el ejército no estaba en guardia. | 11 Und Gideon zog herauf auf der Straße derer, die in Zelten wohnen, östlich von Nobach und Jogboha, und schlug das Heerlager, während es ohne Sorge lagerte. |

And when Zebah and Zalmunna fled, he pursued after them, and took the two kings of Midian, Zebah and Zalmunna, and discomfited all the host.
| 12 Y huyendo Zeba y Zalmuna, él los siguió; y prendió a los dos reyes de Madián, Zeba y Zalmuna, y llenó de espanto a todo el ejército. | 12 Und Sebach und Zalmunna flohen; aber er jagte ihnen nach und nahm gefangen die beiden Könige der Midianiter, Sebach und Zalmunna, und setzte das ganze Heerlager in Schrecken. |

And Gideon the son of Joash returned from battle before the sun was up,
| 13 Entonces Gedeón hijo de Joás volvió de la batalla antes que el sol subiese, | 13 Als nun Gideon, der Sohn des Joasch, vom Kampf zurückkam, auf der Steige von Heres, |

And caught a young man of the men of Succoth, and enquired of him: and he described unto him the princes of Succoth, and the elders thereof, even threescore and seventeen men.
| 14 y tomó a un joven de los hombres de Sucot, y le preguntó; y él le dio por escrito los nombres de los principales y de los ancianos de Sucot, setenta y siete varones. | 14 griff er sich einen Knaben von den Leuten von Sukkot und fragte ihn aus. Der schrieb ihm auf die Oberen von Sukkot und ihre Ältesten, siebenundsiebzig Mann. |

And he came unto the men of Succoth, and said, Behold Zebah and Zalmunna, with whom ye did upbraid me, saying, Are the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna now in thine hand, that we should give bread unto thy men that are weary?
| 15 Y entrando a los hombres de Sucot, dijo: He aquí a Zeba y a Zalmuna, acerca de los cuales me zaheristeis, diciendo: ¿Están ya en tu mano Zeba y Zalmuna, para que demos nosotros pan a tus hombres cansados? | 15 Und er kam zu den Leuten von Sukkot und sprach: Siehe, hier sind Sebach und Zalmunna, um derentwillen ihr mich verspottet habt und gesprochen: Ist denn Sebachs und Zalmunnas Faust schon in deinen Händen, daß wir deinen Leuten, die müde sind, Brot geben sollen? |

And he took the elders of the city, and thorns of the wilderness and briers, and with them he taught the men of Succoth.
| 16 Y tomó a los ancianos de la ciudad, y espinos y abrojos del desierto, y castigó con ellos a los de Sucot. | 16 Und er nahm die Ältesten der Stadt und holte Dornen aus der Wüste und Stacheln und ließ es die Leute zu Sukkot fühlen. |

And he beat down the tower of Penuel, and slew the men of the city.
| 17 Asimismo derribó la torre de Peniel, y mató a los de la ciudad. | 17 Und die Burg von Pnuël riß er nieder und erschlug die Leute der Stadt. |

Then said he unto Zebah and Zalmunna, What manner of men were they whom ye slew at Tabor? And they answered, As thou art, so were they; each one resembled the children of a king.
| 18 Luego dijo a Zeba y a Zalmuna: ¿Qué aspecto tenían aquellos hombres que matasteis en Tabor? Y ellos respondieron: Como tú, así eran ellos; cada uno parecía hijo de rey. | 18 Und Gideon sprach zu Sebach und Zalmunna: Wie waren die Männer, die ihr am Tabor erschlagen habt? Sie sprachen: Sie waren wie du, jeder anzusehen wie ein Königssohn. |

And he said, They were my brethren, even the sons of my mother: as the LORD liveth, if ye had saved them alive, I would not slay you.
| 19 Y él dijo: Mis hermanos eran, hijos de mi madre. ¡Vive Jehová, que si les hubierais conservado la vida, yo no os mataría! | 19 Er aber sprach: Es sind meine Brüder, meiner Mutter Söhne, gewesen. So wahr der HERR lebt: wenn ihr sie am Leben gelassen hättet, würde ich euch nicht töten. |

And he said unto Jether his firstborn, Up, and slay them. But the youth drew not his sword: for he feared, because he was yet a youth.
| 20 Y dijo a Jeter su primogénito: Levántate, y mátalos. Pero el joven no desenvainó su espada, porque tenía temor, pues era aún muchacho. | 20 Und er sprach zu seinem erstgeborenen Sohn Jeter: Steh auf und erschlage sie. Aber der Knabe zog sein Schwert nicht; denn er fürchtete sich, weil er noch ein Knabe war. |

Then Zebah and Zalmunna said, Rise thou, and fall upon us: for as the man is, so is his strength. And Gideon arose, and slew Zebah and Zalmunna, and took away the ornaments that were on their camels' necks.
| 21 Entonces dijeron Zeba y Zalmuna: Levántate tú, y mátanos; porque como es el varón, tal es su valentía. Y Gedeón se levantó, y mató a Zeba y a Zalmuna; y tomó los adornos de lunetas que sus camellos traían al cuello. | 21 Sebach aber und Zalmunna sprachen: Steh du auf und mache dich an uns; denn wie der Mann ist, so ist auch seine Kraft. Da stand Gideon auf und erschlug Sebach und Zalmunna und nahm die kleinen Monde, die an den Hälsen ihrer Kamele waren. |

Then the men of Israel said unto Gideon, Rule thou over us, both thou, and thy son, and thy son's son also: for thou hast delivered us from the hand of Midian.
| 22 Y los israelitas dijeron a Gedeón: Sé nuestro señor, tú, y tu hijo, y tu nieto; pues que nos has librado de mano de Madián. | 22 Da sprachen die Männer von Israel zu Gideon: Sei Herrscher über uns, du und dein Sohn und deines Sohnes Sohn, weil du uns aus der Hand der Midianiter errettet hast. |

And Gideon said unto them, I will not rule over you, neither shall my son rule over you: the LORD shall rule over you.
| 23 Mas Gedeón respondió: No seré señor sobre vosotros, ni mi hijo os señoreará: Jehová señoreará sobre vosotros. | 23 Aber Gideon sprach zu ihnen: Ich will nicht Herrscher über euch sein, und mein Sohn soll auch nicht Herrscher über euch sein, sondern der HERR soll Herrscher über euch sein. |

And Gideon said unto them, I would desire a request of you, that ye would give me every man the earrings of his prey. (For they had golden earrings, because they were Ishmaelites.)
| 24 Y les dijo Gedeón: Quiero haceros una petición; que cada uno me dé los zarcillos de su botín (pues traían zarcillos de oro, porque eran ismaelitas). | 24 Und Gideon sprach zu ihnen: Eins begehre ich von euch: jeder gebe mir die Ringe, die er als Beute genommen hat. Denn weil es Ismaeliter waren, hatten sie goldene Ringe. |

And they answered, We will willingly give them. And they spread a garment, and did cast therein every man the earrings of his prey.
| 25 Ellos respondieron: De buena gana te los daremos. Y tendiendo un manto, echó allí cada uno los zarcillos de su botín. | 25 Sie sprachen: Die wollen wir geben. Und sie breiteten einen Mantel aus, und ein jeder warf die Ringe darauf, die er als Beute genommen hatte. |

And the weight of the golden earrings that he requested was a thousand and seven hundred shekels of gold; beside ornaments, and collars, and purple raiment that was on the kings of Midian, and beside the chains that were about their camels' necks.
| 26 Y fue el peso de los zarcillos de oro que él pidió, mil setecientos siclos de oro, sin las planchas y joyeles y vestidos de púrpura que traían los reyes de Madián, y sin los collares que traían sus camellos al cuello. | 26 Und die goldenen Ringe, die er gefordert hatte, wogen tausendsiebenhundert Lot Gold ohne die kleinen Monde und Ohrringe und Purpurkleider, die die Könige der Midianiter getragen hatten, und ohne die Spangen ihrer Kamele. |

And Gideon made an ephod thereof, and put it in his city, even in Ophrah: and all Israel went thither a whoring after it: which thing became a snare unto Gideon, and to his house.
| 27 Y Gedeón hizo de ellos un efod, el cual hizo guardar en su ciudad de Ofra; y todo Israel se prostituyó tras de ese efod en aquel lugar; y fue tropezadero a Gedeón y a su casa. | 27 Und Gideon machte einen Efod daraus und stellte ihn in seiner Stadt Ofra auf. Und ganz Israel trieb dort mit ihm Abgötterei. Und er wurde Gideon und seinem Hause zum Fallstrick. |

Thus was Midian subdued before the children of Israel, so that they lifted up their heads no more. And the country was in quietness forty years in the days of Gideon.
| 28 Así fue subyugado Madián delante de los hijos de Israel, y nunca más volvió a levantar cabeza. Y reposó la tierra cuarenta años en los días de Gedeón. | 28 So wurden die Midianiter gedemütigt vor den Israeliten und hoben ihren Kopf nicht mehr empor. Und das Land hatte Ruhe vierzig Jahre, solange Gideon lebte. |

And Jerubbaal the son of Joash went and dwelt in his own house.
| 29 Luego Jerobaal hijo de Joás fue y habitó en su casa. | 29 Und Jerubbaal, der Sohn des Joasch, ging hin und wohnte in seinem Hause. |

And Gideon had threescore and ten sons of his body begotten: for he had many wives.
| 30 Y tuvo Gedeón setenta hijos que constituyeron su descendencia, porque tuvo muchas mujeres. | 30 Und Gideon hatte siebzig leibliche Söhne, denn er hatte viele Frauen. |

And his concubine that was in Shechem, she also bare him a son, whose name he called Abimelech.
| 31 También su concubina que estaba en Siquem le dio un hijo, y le puso por nombre Abimelec. | 31 Auch seine Nebenfrau, die er in Sichem hatte, gebar ihm einen Sohn; den nannte er Abimelech. |

And Gideon the son of Joash died in a good old age, and was buried in the sepulchre of Joash his father, in Ophrah of the Abi-ezrites.
| 32 Y murió Gedeón hijo de Joás en buena vejez, y fue sepultado en el sepulcro de su padre Joás, en Ofra de los abiezeritas. | 32 Und Gideon, der Sohn des Joasch, starb in hohem Alter und wurde begraben im Grab seines Vaters Joasch in Ofra, der Stadt der Abïsriter. |

And it came to pass, as soon as Gideon was dead, that the children of Israel turned again, and went a whoring after Baalim, and made Baal-berith their god.
| 33 Pero aconteció que cuando murió Gedeón, los hijos de Israel volvieron a prostituirse yendo tras los baales, y escogieron por dios a Baal-berit. | 33 Als aber Gideon gestorben war, kehrten sich die Israeliten ab und liefen den Baalen nach und machten Baal-Berit zu ihrem Gott. |

And the children of Israel remembered not the LORD their God, who had delivered them out of the hands of all their enemies on every side:
| 34 Y no se acordaron los hijos de Israel de Jehová su Dios, que los había librado de todos sus enemigos en derredor; | 34 Und sie dachten nicht an den HERRN, ihren Gott, der sie errettet hatte aus der Hand aller ihrer Feinde ringsumher, |

Neither shewed they kindness to the house of Jerubbaal, namely, Gideon, according to all the goodness which he had shewed unto Israel. | 35 ni se mostraron agradecidos con la casa de Jerobaal, el cual es Gedeón, conforme a todo el bien que él había hecho a Israel. | 35 und erzeigten sich nicht dankbar dem Hause des Jerubbaal - das ist Gideon - für alles Gute, das er an Israel getan hatte. |
