And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years.
| 1 Los hijos de Israel hicieron lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová; y Jehová los entregó en mano de Madián por siete años. | 1 Und als die Israeliten taten, was dem HERRN mißfiel, gab sie der HERR in die Hand der Midianiter sieben Jahre. |

And the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel: and because of the Midianites the children of Israel made them the dens which are in the mountains, and caves, and strong holds.
| 2 Y la mano de Madián prevaleció contra Israel. Y los hijos de Israel, por causa de los madianitas, se hicieron cuevas en los montes, y cavernas, y lugares fortificados. | 2 Und als die Hand der Midianiter zu stark wurde über Israel, machten sich die Israeliten in den Bergen Schluchten zurecht und Höhlen und Festungen. |

And so it was, when Israel had sown, that the Midianites came up, and the Amalekites, and the children of the east, even they came up against them;

And they encamped against them, and destroyed the increase of the earth, till thou come unto Gaza, and left no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep, nor ox, nor ass.
| 4 Y acampando contra ellos destruían los frutos de la tierra, hasta llegar a Gaza; y no dejaban qué comer en Israel, ni ovejas, ni bueyes, ni asnos. | 4 und lagerten sich gegen sie und vernichteten die Ernte im Land bis hin nach Gaza und ließen nichts übrig an Nahrung in Israel, weder Schafe noch Rinder noch Esel. |

For they came up with their cattle and their tents, and they came as grasshoppers for multitude; for both they and their camels were without number: and they entered into the land to destroy it.
| 5 Porque subían ellos y sus ganados, y venían con sus tiendas en grande multitud como langostas; ellos y sus camellos eran innumerables; así venían a la tierra para devastarla. | 5 Denn sie kamen herauf mit ihrem Vieh und ihren Zelten wie eine große Menge Heuschrecken, so daß weder sie noch ihre Kamele zu zählen waren, und fielen ins Land, um es zu verderben. |

And Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites; and the children of Israel cried unto the LORD.
| 6 De este modo empobrecía Israel en gran manera por causa de Madián; y los hijos de Israel clamaron a Jehová. | 6 So wurde Israel sehr schwach vor den Midianitern. Da schrien die Israeliten zum HERRN. |

And it came to pass, when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD because of the Midianites,
| 7 Y cuando los hijos de Israel clamaron a Jehová, a causa de los madianitas, | 7 Als sie aber zum HERRN schrien um der Midianiter willen, |

That the LORD sent a prophet unto the children of Israel, which said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I brought you up from Egypt, and brought you forth out of the house of bondage;
| 8 Jehová envió a los hijos de Israel un varón profeta, el cual les dijo: Así ha dicho Jehová Dios de Israel: Yo os hice salir de Egipto, y os saqué de la casa de servidumbre. | 8 sandte der HERR einen Propheten zu ihnen, der sprach zu ihnen: So spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels: Ich habe euch aus Ägypten geführt und aus der Knechtschaft gebracht |

And I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all that oppressed you, and drave them out from before you, and gave you their land;
| 9 Os libré de mano de los egipcios, y de mano de todos los que os afligieron, a los cuales eché de delante de vosotros, y os di su tierra; | 9 und habe euch errettet aus der Hand der Ägypter und aus der Hand aller, die euch bedrängten, und habe sie vor euch her ausgestoßen und ihr Land euch gegeben |

And I said unto you, I am the LORD your God; fear not the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but ye have not obeyed my voice.
| 10 y os dije: Yo soy Jehová vuestro Dios; no temáis a los dioses de los amorreos, en cuya tierra habitáis; pero no habéis obedecido a mi voz. | 10 und zu euch gesprochen: Ich bin der HERR, euer Gott! Ihr sollt nicht fürchten die Götter der Amoriter, in deren Land ihr wohnt. Aber ihr habt meiner Stimme nicht gehorcht. |

And there came an angel of the LORD, and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abi-ezrite: and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites.
| 11 Y vino el ángel de Jehová, y se sentó debajo de la encina que está en Ofra, la cual era de Joás abiezerita; y su hijo Gedeón estaba sacudiendo el trigo en el lagar, para esconderlo de los madianitas. | 11 Und der Engel des HERRN kam und setzte sich unter die Eiche bei Ofra; die gehörte Joasch, dem Abïsriter. Und sein Sohn Gideon drosch Weizen in der Kelter, damit er ihn berge vor den Midianitern. |

And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.
| 12 Y el ángel de Jehová se le apareció, y le dijo: Jehová está contigo, varón esforzado y valiente. | 12 Da erschien ihm der Engel des HERRN und sprach zu ihm: Der HERR mit dir, du streitbarer Held! |

And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.
| 13 Y Gedeón le respondió: Ah, señor mío, si Jehová está con nosotros, ¿por qué nos ha sobrevenido todo esto? ¿Y dónde están todas sus maravillas, que nuestros padres nos han contado, diciendo: ¿No nos sacó Jehová de Egipto? Y ahora Jehová nos ha desamparado, y nos ha entregado en mano de los madianitas. | 13 Gideon aber sprach zu ihm: Ach, mein Herr! Ist der HERR mit uns, warum ist uns dann das alles widerfahren? Und wo sind alle seine Wunder, die uns unsere Väter erzählten und sprachen: Der HERR hat uns aus Ägypten geführt? Nun aber hat uns der HERR verstoßen und in die Hände der Midianiter gegeben. |

And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee?
| 14 Y mirándole Jehová, le dijo: Ve con esta tu fuerza, y salvarás a Israel de la mano de los madianitas. ¿No te envío yo? | 14 Der HERR aber wandte sich zu ihm und sprach: Geh hin in dieser deiner Kraft; du sollst Israel erretten aus den Händen der Midianiter. Siehe, ich habe dich gesandt!a |

And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house.
| 15 Entonces le respondió: Ah, señor mío, ¿con qué salvaré yo a Israel? He aquí que mi familia es pobre en Manasés, y yo el menor en la casa de mi padre. | 15 Er aber sprach zu ihm: Ach, mein Herr, womit soll ich Israel erretten? Siehe, mein Geschlecht ist das geringste in Manasse, und ich bin der Jüngste in meines Vaters Hause. |

And the LORD said unto him, Surely I will be with thee, and thou shalt smite the Midianites as one man.
| 16 Jehová le dijo: Ciertamente yo estaré contigo, y derrotarás a los madianitas como a un solo hombre. | 16 Der HERR aber sprach zu ihm: Ich will mit dir sein, daß du die Midianiter schlagen sollst wie einen Mann. |

And he said unto him, If now I have found grace in thy sight, then shew me a sign that thou talkest with me.
| 17 Y él respondió: Yo te ruego que si he hallado gracia delante de ti, me des señal de que tú has hablado conmigo. | 17 Er aber sprach zu ihm: Hab ich Gnade vor dir gefunden, so mach mir doch ein Zeichen, daß du es bist, der mit mir redet. |

Depart not hence, I pray thee, until I come unto thee, and bring forth my present, and set it before thee. And he said, I will tarry until thou come again.
| 18 Te ruego que no te vayas de aquí hasta que vuelva a ti, y saque mi ofrenda y la ponga delante de ti. Y él respondió: Yo esperaré hasta que vuelvas. | 18 Geh nicht fort, bis ich wieder zu dir komme und bringe meine Gabe und lege sie vor dir hin. Er sprach: Ich will bleiben, bis du wiederkommst. |

And Gideon went in, and made ready a kid, and unleavened cakes of an ephah of flour: the flesh he put in a basket, and he put the broth in a pot, and brought it out unto him under the oak, and presented it.
| 19 Y entrando Gedeón, preparó un cabrito, y panes sin levadura de un efa de harina; y puso la carne en un canastillo, y el caldo en una olla, y sacándolo se lo presentó debajo de aquella encina. | 19 Und Gideon ging hin und richtete ein Ziegenböcklein zu und ungesäuerte Brote von einem Scheffel Mehl und legte das Fleisch in einen Korb und tat die Brühe in einen Topf und brachte es zu ihm hinaus unter die Eiche und trat hinzu. |

And the angel of God said unto him, Take the flesh and the unleavened cakes, and lay them upon this rock, and pour out the broth. And he did so.
| 20 Entonces el ángel de Dios le dijo: Toma la carne y los panes sin levadura, y ponlos sobre esta peña, y vierte el caldo. Y él lo hizo así. | 20 Aber der Engel Gottes sprach zu ihm: Nimm das Fleisch und die Brote und lege es hin auf den Fels hier und gieß die Brühe darüber. Und er tat es. |

Then the angel of the LORD put forth the end of the staff that was in his hand, and touched the flesh and the unleavened cakes; and there rose up fire out of the rock, and consumed the flesh and the unleavened cakes. Then the angel of the LORD departed out of his sight.
| 21 Y extendiendo el ángel de Jehová el báculo que tenía en su mano, tocó con la punta la carne y los panes sin levadura; y subió fuego de la peña, el cual consumió la carne y los panes sin levadura. Y el ángel de Jehová desapareció de su vista. | 21 Da streckte der Engel des HERRN den Stab aus, den er in der Hand hatte, und berührte mit der Spitze das Fleisch und die Brote. Da fuhr Feuer aus dem Fels und verzehrte das Fleisch und die Brote. Und der Engel des HERRN entschwand seinen Augen. |

And when Gideon perceived that he was an angel of the LORD, Gideon said, Alas, O Lord GOD! for because I have seen an angel of the LORD face to face.
| 22 Viendo entonces Gedeón que era el ángel de Jehová, dijo: Ah, Señor Jehová, que he visto al ángel de Jehová cara a cara. | 22 Als nun Gideon sah, daß es der Engel des HERRN war, sprach er: Ach, Herr HERR! Habe ich wirklich den Engel des HERRN von Angesicht zu Angesicht gesehen! |

And the LORD said unto him, Peace be unto thee; fear not: thou shalt not die.
| 23 Pero Jehová le dijo: Paz a ti; no tengas temor, no morirás. | 23 Aber der HERR sprach zu ihm: Friede sei mit dir! Fürchte dich nicht, du wirst nicht sterben. |

Then Gideon built an altar there unto the LORD, and called it Jehovah-shalom: unto this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abi-ezrites.
| 24 Y edificó allí Gedeón altar a Jehová, y lo llamó Jehová-salom; el cual permanece hasta hoy en Ofra de los abiezeritas. | 24 Da baute Gideon dem HERRN dort einen Altar und nannte ihn "Der HERR ist Friede". Der steht noch bis auf den heutigen Tag in Ofra, der Stadt der Abïsriter. |

And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said unto him, Take thy father's young bullock, even the second bullock of seven years old, and throw down the altar of Baal that thy father hath, and cut down the grove that is by it:
| 25 Aconteció que la misma noche le dijo Jehová: Toma un toro del hato de tu padre, el segundo toro de siete años, y derriba el altar de Baal que tu padre tiene, y corta también la imagen de Asera que está junto a él; | 25 Und in derselben Nacht sprach der HERR zu ihm: Nimm einen jungen Stier von den Stieren deines Vaters und einen zweiten Stier, der siebenjährig ist, und reiße nieder den Altar Baals, der deinem Vater gehört, und haue um das Bild der Aschera, das dabei steht, |

And build an altar unto the LORD thy God upon the top of this rock, in the ordered place, and take the second bullock, and offer a burnt sacrifice with the wood of the grove which thou shalt cut down.
| 26 y edifica altar a Jehová tu Dios en la cumbre de este peñasco en lugar conveniente; y tomando el segundo toro, sacrifícalo en holocausto con la madera de la imagen de Asera que habrás cortado. | 26 und baue dem HERRN, deinem Gott, oben auf der Höhe dieses Felsens einen Altar und rüste ihn zu und nimm den zweiten Stier und bringe ein Brandopfer dar mit dem Holz des Ascherabildes, das du umgehauen hast. |

Then Gideon took ten men of his servants, and did as the LORD had said unto him: and so it was, because he feared his father's household, and the men of the city, that he could not do it by day, that he did it by night.
| 27 Entonces Gedeón tomó diez hombres de sus siervos, e hizo como Jehová le dijo. Mas temiendo hacerlo de día, por la familia de su padre y por los hombres de la ciudad, lo hizo de noche. | 27 Da nahm Gideon zehn Mann von seinen Leuten und tat, wie ihm der HERR gesagt hatte. Aber er fürchtete sich vor seines Vaters Haus und vor den Leuten in der Stadt, das am Tage zu tun, und tat's in der Nacht. |

And when the men of the city arose early in the morning, behold, the altar of Baal was cast down, and the grove was cut down that was by it, and the second bullock was offered upon the altar that was built.
| 28 Por la mañana, cuando los de la ciudad se levantaron, he aquí que el altar de Baal estaba derribado, y cortada la imagen de Asera que estaba junto a él, y el segundo toro había sido ofrecido en holocausto sobre el altar edificado. | 28 Als nun die Leute in der Stadt früh am Morgen aufstanden, siehe, da war der Altar Baals niedergerissen und das Ascherabild daneben umgehauen und der zweite Stier als Brandopfer dargebracht auf dem Altar, der gebaut war. |

And they said one to another, Who hath done this thing? And when they enquired and asked, they said, Gideon the son of Joash hath done this thing.
| 29 Y se dijeron unos a otros: ¿Quién ha hecho esto? Y buscando e inquiriendo, les dijeron: Gedeón hijo de Joás lo ha hecho. | 29 Und einer sprach zum andern: Wer hat das getan? Und als sie suchten und nachfragten, wurde gesagt: Gideon, der Sohn des Joasch, hat das getan. |

Then the men of the city said unto Joash, Bring out thy son, that he may die: because he hath cast down the altar of Baal, and because he hath cut down the grove that was by it.
| 30 Saca a tu hijo para que muera, porque ha derribado el altar de Baal y ha cortado la imagen de Asera que estaba junto a él. | 30 Da sprachen die Leute der Stadt zu Joasch: Gib deinen Sohn heraus; er muß sterben, weil er den Altar Baals niedergerissen und das Ascherabild daneben umgehauen hat. |

And Joash said unto all that stood against him, Will ye plead for Baal? will ye save him? he that will plead for him, let him be put to death whilst it is yet morning: if he be a god, let him plead for himself, because one hath cast down his altar.
| 31 Y Joás respondió a todos los que estaban junto a él: ¿Contenderéis vosotros por Baal? ¿Defenderéis su causa? Cualquiera que contienda por él, que muera esta mañana. Si es un dios, contienda por sí mismo con el que derribó su altar. | 31 Joasch aber sprach zu allen, die bei ihm standen: Wollt ihr für Baal streiten? Wollt ihr ihm helfen? Wer für ihn streitet, der soll noch diesen Morgen sterben. Ist er Gott, so streite er für sich selbst, weil sein Altar niedergerissen ist. |

Therefore on that day he called him Jerubbaal, saying, Let Baal plead against him, because he hath thrown down his altar.
| 32 Aquel día Gedeón fue llamado Jerobaal, esto es: Contienda Baal contra él, por cuanto derribó su altar. | 32 Von dem Tag an nannte man Gideon Jerubbaal, das heißt "Baal streite mit ihm", weil er seinen Altar niedergerissen hat. |

Then all the Midianites and the Amalekites and the children of the east were gathered together, and went over, and pitched in the valley of Jezreel.
| 33 Pero todos los madianitas y amalecitas y los del oriente se juntaron a una, y pasando acamparon en el valle de Jezreel. | 33 Als nun alle Midianiter und Amalekiter und die aus dem Osten sich versammelt hatten, zogen sie herüber und lagerten sich in der Ebene Jesreel. |

But the Spirit of the LORD came upon Gideon, and he blew a trumpet; and Abi-ezer was gathered after him.
| 34 Entonces el Espíritu de Jehová vino sobre Gedeón, y cuando éste tocó el cuerno, los abiezeritas se reunieron con él. | 34 Da erfüllte der Geist des HERRN den Gideon. Und er ließ die Posaune blasen und rief die Abïsriter auf, ihm zu folgen. |

And he sent messengers throughout all Manasseh; who also was gathered after him: and he sent messengers unto Asher, and unto Zebulun, and unto Naphtali; and they came up to meet them.
| 35 Y envió mensajeros por todo Manasés, y ellos también se juntaron con él; asimismo envió mensajeros a Aser, a Zabulón y a Neftalí, los cuales salieron a encontrarles. | 35 Und er sandte Botschaft zu ganz Manasse und rief sie auf, daß auch sie ihm folgten. Er sandte auch Botschaft zu Asser und Sebulon und Naftali; die kamen herauf, ihm entgegen. |

And Gideon said unto God, If thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said,
| 36 Y Gedeón dijo a Dios: Si has de salvar a Israel por mi mano, como has dicho, | 36 Und Gideon sprach zu Gott: Willst du Israel durch meine Hand erretten, wie du zugesagt hast, |

Behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the fleece only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said.
| 37 he aquí que yo pondré un vellón de lana en la era; y si el rocío estuviere en el vellón solamente, quedando seca toda la otra tierra, entonces entenderé que salvarás a Israel por mi mano, como lo has dicho. | 37 so will ich abgeschorene Wolle auf die Tenne legen: Wird der Tau allein auf der Wolle sein und der ganze Boden umher trocken, so will ich daran erkennen, daß du Israel erretten wirst durch meine Hand, wie du zugesagt hast. |

And it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow, and thrust the fleece together, and wringed the dew out of the fleece, a bowl full of water.
| 38 Y aconteció así, pues cuando se levantó de mañana, exprimió el vellón y sacó de él el rocío, un tazón lleno de agua. | 38 Und so geschah es. Und als er am andern Morgen früh aufstand, drückte er den Tau aus der Wolle, eine Schale voll Wasser! |

And Gideon said unto God, Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the fleece; let it now be dry only upon the fleece, and upon all the ground let there be dew.
| 39 Mas Gedeón dijo a Dios: No se encienda tu ira contra mí, si aún hablare esta vez; solamente probaré ahora otra vez con el vellón. Te ruego que solamente el vellón quede seco, y el rocío sobre la tierra. | 39 Und Gideon sprach zu Gott: Dein Zorn entbrenne nicht gegen mich, wenn ich noch einmal rede. Ich will's nur noch einmal versuchen mit der Wolle: es sei allein auf der Wolle trocken und Tau auf dem ganzen Boden. |

And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the fleece only, and there was dew on all the ground. | 40 Y aquella noche lo hizo Dios así; sólo el vellón quedó seco, y en toda la tierra hubo rocío. | 40 Und Gott machte es so in derselben Nacht, daß es trocken war allein auf der Wolle und Tau überall auf dem Boden. |
