Then all the children of Israel went out, and the congregation was gathered together as one man, from Dan even to Beer-sheba, with the land of Gilead, unto the LORD in Mizpeh.

And the chief of all the people, even of all the tribes of Israel, presented themselves in the assembly of the people of God, four hundred thousand footmen that drew sword.

(Now the children of Benjamin heard that the children of Israel were gone up to Mizpeh.) Then said the children of Israel, Tell us, how was this wickedness?

And the Levite, the husband of the woman that was slain, answered and said, I came into Gibeah that belongeth to Benjamin, I and my concubine, to lodge.
| 4 Entonces el varón levita, marido de la mujer muerta, respondió y dijo: Yo llegué a Gabaa de Benjamín con mi concubina, para pasar allí la noche. | 4 Da antwortete der Levit, der Mann der Frau, die getötet worden war, und sprach: Ich kam nach Gibea in Benjamin mit meiner Nebenfrau, um da über Nacht zu bleiben. |

And the men of Gibeah rose against me, and beset the house round about upon me by night, and thought to have slain me: and my concubine have they forced, that she is dead.
| 5 Y levantándose contra mí los de Gabaa, rodearon contra mí la casa por la noche, con idea de matarme, y a mi concubina la humillaron de tal manera que murió. | 5 Da machten sich gegen mich auf die Bürger von Gibea und umstellten meinetwegen das Haus des Nachts. And I took my concubine, and cut her in pieces, and sent her throughout all the country of the inheritance of Israel: for they have committed lewdness and folly in Israel.
| 6 Entonces tomando yo mi concubina, la corté en pedazos, y la envié por todo el territorio de la posesión de Israel, por cuanto han hecho maldad y crimen en Israel. | 6 Da nahm ich meine Nebenfrau und zerstückelte sie und sandte die Stücke in das ganze Gebiet des Erbbesitzes von Israel; denn sie haben ein Verbrechen und eine Schandtat getan in Israel. |

Behold, ye are all children of Israel; give here your advice and counsel.

And all the people arose as one man, saying, We will not any of us go to his tent, neither will we any of us turn into his house.

But now this shall be the thing which we will do to Gibeah; we will go up by lot against it;

And we will take ten men of an hundred throughout all the tribes of Israel, and an hundred of a thousand, and a thousand out of ten thousand, to fetch victual for the people, that they may do, when they come to Gibeah of Benjamin, according to all the folly that they have wrought in Israel.
| 10 Tomaremos diez hombres de cada ciento por todas las tribus de Israel, y ciento de cada mil, y mil de cada diez mil, que lleven víveres para el pueblo, para que yendo a Gabaa de Benjamín le hagan conforme a toda la abominación que ha cometido en Israel. | 10 Laßt uns nehmen zehn Mann von hundert und hundert von tausend und tausend von zehntausend aus allen Stämmen Israels, damit sie Speise holen für das Volk, das gekommen ist, um Gibea in Benjamin seine große Schandtat zu vergelten, die es in Israel getan hat. |

So all the men of Israel were gathered against the city, knit together as one man.

And the tribes of Israel sent men through all the tribe of Benjamin, saying, What wickedness is this that is done among you?

Now therefore deliver us the men, the children of Belial, which are in Gibeah, that we may put them to death, and put away evil from Israel. But the children of Benjamin would not hearken to the voice of their brethren the children of Israel:
| 13 Entregad, pues, ahora a aquellos hombres perversos que están en Gabaa, para que los matemos, y quitemos el mal de Israel. Mas los de Benjamín no quisieron oír la voz de sus hermanos los hijos de Israel, | 13 So gebt nun heraus die Männer, die ruchlosen Leute von Gibea, daß wir sie töten und das Böse aus Israel austilgen. But the children of Benjamin gathered themselves together out of the cities unto Gibeah, to go out to battle against the children of Israel.
| 14 sino que los de Benjamín se juntaron de las ciudades en Gabaa, para salir a pelear contra los hijos de Israel. | 14 sondern sie versammelten sich aus den Städten nach Gibea, um in den Kampf gegen die Israeliten auszuziehen. |

And the children of Benjamin were numbered at that time out of the cities twenty and six thousand men that drew sword, beside the inhabitants of Gibeah, which were numbered seven hundred chosen men.

Among all this people there were seven hundred chosen men lefthanded; every one could sling stones at an hair breadth, and not miss.

And the men of Israel, beside Benjamin, were numbered four hundred thousand men that drew sword: all these were men of war.
| 17 Y fueron contados los varones de Israel, fuera de Benjamín, cuatrocientos mil hombres que sacaban espada, todos estos hombres de guerra. | 17 Aber von Israel - außer denen von Benjamin - wurden gezählt vierhunderttausend Mann, die das Schwert führten, lauter streitbare Männer. |

And the children of Israel arose, and went up to the house of God, and asked counsel of God, and said, Which of us shall go up first to the battle against the children of Benjamin? And the LORD said, Judah shall go up first.
| 18 Luego se levantaron los hijos de Israel, y subieron a la casa de Dios y consultaron a Dios, diciendo: ¿Quién subirá de nosotros el primero en la guerra contra los hijos de Benjamín? Y Jehová respondió: Judá será el primero. | 18 Die machten sich auf und zogen hinauf nach Bethel und befragten Gott und sprachen: Wer von uns soll zuerst hinaufziehen in den Kampf gegen Benjamin? And the children of Israel rose up in the morning, and encamped against Gibeah.
| 19 Se levantaron, pues, los hijos de Israel por la mañana, contra Gabaa. | 19 So machten sich die Israeliten am Morgen auf und lagerten sich vor Gibea. |

And the men of Israel went out to battle against Benjamin; and the men of Israel put themselves in array to fight against them at Gibeah.
| 20 Y salieron los hijos de Israel a combatir contra Benjamín, y los varones de Israel ordenaron la batalla contra ellos junto a Gabaa. | 20 Und die Männer von Israel zogen heraus, um gegen Benjamin zu kämpfen, und stellten sich auf zum Kampf gegen Gibea. |

And the children of Benjamin came forth out of Gibeah, and destroyed down to the ground of the Israelites that day twenty and two thousand men.
| 21 Saliendo entonces de Gabaa los hijos de Benjamín, derribaron por tierra aquel día veintidós mil hombres de los hijos de Israel. | 21 Da fielen die Benjaminiter aus Gibea aus und schlugen an dem Tage von Israel zweiundzwanzigtausend zu Boden. |

And the people the men of Israel encouraged themselves, and set their battle again in array in the place where they put themselves in array the first day.
| 22 Mas reanimándose el pueblo, los varones de Israel volvieron a ordenar la batalla en el mismo lugar donde la habían ordenado el primer día. | 22 *Da zogen die Israeliten hinauf und hielten Klage vor dem HERRN bis zum Abend und befragten den HERRN und sprachen: Sollen wir wieder in den Kampf ziehen gegen die Benjaminiter, unsere Brüder? (And the children of Israel went up and wept before the LORD until even, and asked counsel of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up again to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother? And the LORD said, Go up against him.)
| 23 Porque los hijos de Israel subieron y lloraron delante de Jehová hasta la noche, y consultaron a Jehová, diciendo: ¿Volveremos a pelear con los hijos de Benjamín nuestros hermanos? And the children of Israel came near against the children of Benjamin the second day.
| 24 Por lo cual se acercaron los hijos de Israel contra los hijos de Benjamín el segundo día. | 24 Und als die Israeliten am andern Tage nahe herankamen an die Benjaminiter, |

And Benjamin went forth against them out of Gibeah the second day, and destroyed down to the ground of the children of Israel again eighteen thousand men; all these drew the sword.
| 25 Y aquel segundo día, saliendo Benjamín de Gabaa contra ellos, derribaron por tierra otros dieciocho mil hombres de los hijos de Israel, todos los cuales sacaban espada. | 25 machten die Benjaminiter auch am zweiten Tag einen Ausfall aus Gibea und schlugen von Israel noch achtzehntausend zu Boden, die alle das Schwert führten. |

Then all the children of Israel, and all the people, went up, and came unto the house of God, and wept, and sat there before the LORD, and fasted that day until even, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.
| 26 Entonces subieron todos los hijos de Israel, y todo el pueblo, y vinieron a la casa de Dios; y lloraron, y se sentaron allí en presencia de Jehová, y ayunaron aquel día hasta la noche; y ofrecieron holocaustos y ofrendas de paz delante de Jehová. | 26 Da zogen alle Israeliten, das ganze Kriegsvolk, hinauf und kamen nach Bethel und hielten Klage und blieben dort vor dem HERRN und fasteten an diesem Tag bis zum Abend und opferten Brandopfer und Dankopfer vor dem HERRN. |

And the children of Israel enquired of the LORD, (for the ark of the covenant of God was there in those days,

And Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, stood before it in those days,) saying, Shall I yet again go out to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother, or shall I cease? And the LORD said, Go up; for to morrow I will deliver them into thine hand.
| 28 y Finees hijo de Eleazar, hijo de Aarón, ministraba delante de ella en aquellos días), y dijeron: ¿Volveremos aún a salir contra los hijos de Benjamín nuestros hermanos, para pelear, o desistiremos? And Israel set liers in wait round about Gibeah.
| 29 Y puso Israel emboscadas alrededor de Gabaa. | 29 Und Israel legte einen Hinterhalt rings um Gibea her. |

And the children of Israel went up against the children of Benjamin on the third day, and put themselves in array against Gibeah, as at other times.
| 30 Subiendo entonces los hijos de Israel contra los hijos de Benjamín el tercer día, ordenaron la batalla delante de Gabaa, como las otras veces. | 30 So zog Israel hinauf am dritten Tage gegen die Benjaminiter und stellte sich auf gegen Gibea wie schon zweimal vorher. |

And the children of Benjamin went out against the people, and were drawn away from the city; and they began to smite of the people, and kill, as at other times, in the highways, of which one goeth up to the house of God, and the other to Gibeah in the field, about thirty men of Israel.
| 31 Y salieron los hijos de Benjamín al encuentro del pueblo, alejándose de la ciudad; y comenzaron a herir a algunos del pueblo, matándolos como las otras veces por los caminos, uno de los cuales sube a Bet-el, y el otro a Gabaa en el campo; y mataron unos treinta hombres de Israel. | 31 Da machten die Benjaminiter einen Ausfall, dem Kriegsvolk entgegen, und wurden weggezogen von der Stadt und erschlugen anfangs einige vom Kriegsvolk - wie schon zweimal vorher - auf den Straßen, von denen die eine nach Bethel und die andere nach Gibeon führt, auf offenem Feld etwa dreißig Mann von Israel. |

And the children of Benjamin said, They are smitten down before us, as at the first. But the children of Israel said, Let us flee, and draw them from the city unto the highways.
| 32 Y los hijos de Benjamín decían: Vencidos son delante de nosotros, como antes. And all the men of Israel rose up out of their place, and put themselves in array at Baal-tamar: and the liers in wait of Israel came forth out of their places, even out of the meadows of Gibeah.
| 33 Entonces se levantaron todos los de Israel de su lugar, y se pusieron en orden de batalla en Baal-tamar; y también las emboscadas de Israel salieron de su lugar, de la pradera de Gabaa. | 33 Da machten sich alle Männer von Israel auf von ihrem Ort und stellten sich bei Baal-Tamar auf. Und der Hinterhalt Israels brach hervor aus seinem Versteck westlich von Geba. |

And there came against Gibeah ten thousand chosen men out of all Israel, and the battle was sore: but they knew not that evil was near them.
| 34 Y vinieron contra Gabaa diez mil hombres escogidos de todo Israel, y la batalla arreciaba; mas ellos no sabían que ya el desastre se acercaba a ellos. | 34 Und sie rückten gegen Gibea an, zehntausend Mann, auserlesen aus ganz Israel, so daß der Kampf hart wurde; jene aber wußten nicht, daß sie das Unglück treffen würde. |

And the LORD smote Benjamin before Israel: and the children of Israel destroyed of the Benjamites that day twenty and five thousand and an hundred men: all these drew the sword.
| 35 Y derrotó Jehová a Benjamín delante de Israel; y mataron los hijos de Israel aquel día a veinticinco mil cien hombres de Benjamín, todos los cuales sacaban espada. | 35 So schlug der HERR die Benjaminiter vor den Männern von Israel, daß die Israeliten an dem Tag umbrachten fünfundzwanzigtausendeinhundert Mann von Benjamin, die alle das Schwert führten. |

So the children of Benjamin saw that they were smitten: for the men of Israel gave place to the Benjamites, because they trusted unto the liers in wait which they had set beside Gibeah.
| 36 Y vieron los hijos de Benjamín que eran derrotados; y los hijos de Israel cedieron campo a Benjamín, porque estaban confiados en las emboscadas que habían puesto detrás de Gabaa. | 36 Denn als die Benjaminiter sahen, daß sie geschlagen waren, gaben ihnen die Männer Israels Raum; denn sie verließen sich auf den Hinterhalt, den sie bei Gibea angelegt hatten. |

And the liers in wait hasted, and rushed upon Gibeah; and the liers in wait drew themselves along, and smote all the city with the edge of the sword.
| 37 Y los hombres de las emboscadas acometieron prontamente a Gabaa, y avanzaron e hirieron a filo de espada a toda la ciudad. | 37 Und der Hinterhalt brach eilends hervor auf Gibea zu und zog hin und schlug die ganze Stadt mit der Schärfe des Schwerts. |

Now there was an appointed sign between the men of Israel and the liers in wait, that they should make a great flame with smoke rise up out of the city.
| 38 Y era la señal concertada entre los hombres de Israel y las emboscadas, que hiciesen subir una gran humareda de la ciudad. | 38 Sie hatten aber verabredet miteinander, die Männer von Israel und der Hinterhalt, sie sollten eine Rauchsäule von der Stadt aufsteigen lassen. |

And when the men of Israel retired in the battle, Benjamin began to smite and kill of the men of Israel about thirty persons: for they said, Surely they are smitten down before us, as in the first battle.
| 39 Luego, pues, que los de Israel retrocedieron en la batalla, los de Benjamín comenzaron a herir y matar a la gente de Israel como treinta hombres, y ya decían: Ciertamente ellos han caído delante de nosotros, como en la primera batalla. | 39 Als nun die Männer von Israel sich im Kampf abgewandt hatten und die Benjaminiter anfangs etwa dreißig Mann von Israel erschlagen hatten, so daß sie dachten: sie sind vor uns geschlagen wie im vorigen Kampf, |

But when the flame began to arise up out of the city with a pillar of smoke, the Benjamites looked behind them, and, behold, the flame of the city ascended up to heaven.
| 40 Mas cuando la columna de humo comenzó a subir de la ciudad, los de Benjamín miraron hacia atrás; y he aquí que el humo de la ciudad subía al cielo. | 40 da begann eine Rauchsäule von der Stadt gerade empor aufzusteigen. Und die Benjaminiter wandten sich um, und siehe, da ging die Stadt ganz in Flammen auf zum Himmel. |

And when the men of Israel turned again, the men of Benjamin were amazed: for they saw that evil was come upon them.
| 41 Entonces se volvieron los hombres de Israel, y los de Benjamín se llenaron de temor, porque vieron que el desastre había venido sobre ellos. | 41 Und die Männer von Israel machten kehrt; da erschraken die Männer von Benjamin, denn sie sahen, daß das Unglück sie getroffen hatte, |

Therefore they turned their backs before the men of Israel unto the way of the wilderness; but the battle overtook them; and them which came out of the cities they destroyed in the midst of them.
| 42 Volvieron, por tanto, la espalda delante de Israel hacia el camino del desierto; pero la batalla los alcanzó, y los que salían de las ciudades los destruían en medio de ellos. | 42 und wandten sich weg von den Männern Israels auf den Weg zur Steppe. Aber der Kampf folgte ihnen auch dorthin, und die von der Stadt her kamen, vernichteten in ihrer Mitte die Benjaminiter. |

Thus they inclosed the Benjamites round about, and chased them, and trode them down with ease over against Gibeah toward the sunrising.
| 43 Así cercaron a los de Benjamín, y los acosaron y hollaron desde Menúha hasta enfrente de Gabaa hacia donde nace el sol. | 43 Sie umringten diese und jagten ihnen nach, ohne ihnen Ruhe zu lassen, und zertraten sie bis östlich von Gibea, gegen Sonnenaufgang. |

And there fell of Benjamin eighteen thousand men; all these were men of valour.
| 44 Y cayeron de Benjamín dieciocho mil hombres, todos ellos hombres de guerra. | 44 Und es fielen von Benjamin achtzehntausend Mann, lauter streitbare Männer. |

And they turned and fled toward the wilderness unto the rock of Rimmon: and they gleaned of them in the highways five thousand men; and pursued hard after them unto Gidom, and slew two thousand men of them.
| 45 Volviéndose luego, huyeron hacia el desierto, a la peña de Rimón, y de ellos fueron abatidos cinco mil hombres en los caminos; y fueron persiguiéndolos aun hasta Gidom, y mataron de ellos a dos mil hombres. | 45 Da wandten sie sich um und flohen zur Steppe hin zum Fels Rimmon; aber die Männer von Israel hielten auf den Straßen eine Nachlese von fünftausend Mann und verfolgten sie weiter bis Gidom und erschlugen von ihnen noch zweitausend. |

So that all which fell that day of Benjamin were twenty and five thousand men that drew the sword; all these were men of valour.

But six hundred men turned and fled to the wilderness unto the rock Rimmon, and abode in the rock Rimmon four months.

And the men of Israel turned again upon the children of Benjamin, and smote them with the edge of the sword, as well the men of every city, as the beast, and all that came to hand: also they set on fire all the cities that they came to. | 48 Y los hombres de Israel volvieron sobre los hijos de Benjamín, y los hirieron a filo de espada, así a los hombres de cada ciudad como a las bestias y todo lo que fue hallado; asimismo pusieron fuego a todas las ciudades que hallaban. | 48 Und die Männer Israels kehrten um zu den Benjaminitern und schlugen in der Stadt mit der Schärfe des Schwerts Leute und Vieh und alles, was man fand.
