There was also a lot for the tribe of Manasseh; for he was the firstborn of Joseph; to wit, for Machir the firstborn of Manasseh, the father of Gilead: because he was a man of war, therefore he had Gilead and Bashan.

There was also a lot for the rest of the children of Manasseh by their families; for the children of Abi-ezer, and for the children of Helek, and for the children of Asriel, and for the children of Shechem, and for the children of Hepher, and for the children of Shemida: these were the male children of Manasseh the son of Joseph by their families.

But Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, had no sons, but daughters: and these are the names of his daughters, Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.

And they came near before Eleazar the priest, and before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the princes, saying, The LORD commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brethren. Therefore according to the commandment of the LORD he gave them an inheritance among the brethren of their father.
| 4 Estas vinieron delante del sacerdote Eleazar y de Josué hijo de Nun, y de los príncipes, y dijeron: Jehová mandó a Moisés que nos diese heredad entre nuestros hermanos. Y él les dio heredad entre los hermanos del padre de ellas, conforme al dicho de Jehová. | 4 Und sie traten vor den Priester Eleasar und vor Josua, den Sohn Nuns, und vor die Obersten und sprachen: Der HERR hat Mose geboten, daß er uns solle Erbteil geben unter unsern Brüdern. Und man gab ihnen Erbteil unter den Brüdern ihres Vaters nach dem Befehl des HERRN. |

And there fell ten portions to Manasseh, beside the land of Gilead and Bashan, which were on the other side Jordan;

Because the daughters of Manasseh had an inheritance among his sons: and the rest of Manasseh's sons had the land of Gilead.
| 6 porque las hijas de Manasés tuvieron heredad entre sus hijos; y la tierra de Galaad fue de los otros hijos de Manasés. | 6 denn die Töchter Manasses empfingen Erbteil unter seinen Söhnen. Das Land Gilead aber wurde den andern Söhnen Manasses zuteil. |

And the coast of Manasseh was from Asher to Michmethah, that lieth before Shechem; and the border went along on the right hand unto the inhabitants of En-tappuah.

Now Manasseh had the land of Tappuah: but Tappuah on the border of Manasseh belonged to the children of Ephraim;

And the coast descended unto the river Kanah, southward of the river: these cities of Ephraim are among the cities of Manasseh: the coast of Manasseh also was on the north side of the river, and the outgoings of it were at the sea:
| 9 Desciende este límite al arroyo de Caná, hacia el sur del arroyo. Estas ciudades de Efraín están entre las ciudades de Manasés; y el límite de Manasés es desde el norte del mismo arroyo, y sus salidas son al mar. | 9 Danach kommt sie herab zum Bach Kana an der Südseite des Baches; diese Städte gehören Ephraim inmitten der Städte Manasses. Die Grenze Manasses aber geht weiter an der Nordseite des Baches und endet am Meer; |

Southward it was Ephraim's, and northward it was Manasseh's, and the sea is his border; and they met together in Asher on the north, and in Issachar on the east.

And Manasseh had in Issachar and in Asher Beth-shean and her towns, and Ibleam and her towns, and the inhabitants of Dor and her towns, and the inhabitants of Endor and her towns, and the inhabitants of Taanach and her towns, and the inhabitants of Megiddo and her towns, even three countries.
| 11 Tuvo también Manasés en Isacar y en Aser a Bet-seán y sus aldeas, a Ibleam y sus aldeas, a los moradores de Dor y sus aldeas, a los moradores de Endor y sus aldeas, a los moradores de Taanac y sus aldeas, y a los moradores de Meguido y sus aldeas; tres provincias. | 11 Es hatte aber Manasse im Gebiet von Issachar und Asser: Bet-Schean und seine Ortschaften, Jibleam und seine Ortschaften und die Einwohner von Dor und seine Ortschaften und die von En-Dor und seine Ortschaften, die von Taanach und seine Ortschaften und die von Megiddo und seine Ortschaften samt den drei Höhen. |

Yet the children of Manasseh could not drive out the inhabitants of those cities; but the Canaanites would dwell in that land.
| 12 Mas los hijos de Manasés no pudieron arrojar a los de aquellas ciudades; y el cananeo persistió en habitar en aquella tierra. | 12 Und der Stamm Manasse konnte diese Städte nicht erobern, sondern die Kanaaniter vermochten im Lande zu bleiben. |

Yet it came to pass, when the children of Israel were waxen strong, that they put the Canaanites to tribute; but did not utterly drive them out.
| 13 Pero cuando los hijos de Israel fueron lo suficientemente fuertes, hicieron tributario al cananeo, mas no lo arrojaron. | 13 Als aber die Israeliten mächtig wurden, machten sie die Kanaaniter fronpflichtig; aber sie vertrieben sie nicht völlig. |

And the children of Joseph spake unto Joshua, saying, Why hast thou given me but one lot and one portion to inherit, seeing I am a great people, forasmuch as the LORD hath blessed me hitherto?
| 14 Y los hijos de José hablaron a Josué, diciendo: ¿Por qué nos has dado por heredad una sola suerte y una sola parte, siendo nosotros un pueblo tan grande, y que Jehová nos ha bendecido hasta ahora? | 14 Da redeten die Nachkommen Josefs mit Josua und sprachen: Warum hast du mir nur ein Los und ein Erbteil gegeben? Ich bin doch ein großes Volk, da mich der HERR so gesegnet hat. |

And Joshua answered them, If thou be a great people, then get thee up to the wood country, and cut down for thyself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the giants, if mount Ephraim be too narrow for thee.
| 15 Y Josué les respondió: Si sois pueblo tan grande, subid al bosque, y haceos desmontes allí en la tierra de los ferezeos y de los refaítas, ya que el monte de Efraín es estrecho para vosotros. | 15 Da sprach Josua zu ihnen: Weil du ein großes Volk bist, so geh hinauf ins Waldgebirge und rode dort für dich im Lande der Perisiter un Refaïter, wenn dir das Gebirge Ephraim zu eng ist. |

And the children of Joseph said, The hill is not enough for us: and all the Canaanites that dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both they who are of Beth-shean and her towns, and they who are of the valley of Jezreel.
| 16 Y los hijos de José dijeron: No nos bastará a nosotros este monte; y todos los cananeos que habitan la tierra de la llanura, tienen carros herrados; los que están en Bet-seán y en sus aldeas, y los que están en el valle de Jezreel. | 16 Da sprachen die Nachkommen Josefs: Das Gebirge wird nicht Raum genug für uns haben; dazu gibt es eiserne Wagen bei allen Kanaanitern, die im ebenen Land wohnen, bei denen zu Bet-Schean und seinen Ortschaften und bei denen in der Ebene Jesreel. |

And Joshua spake unto the house of Joseph, even to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, Thou art a great people, and hast great power: thou shalt not have one lot only:
| 17 Entonces Josué respondió a la casa de José, a Efraín y a Manasés, diciendo: Tú eres gran pueblo, y tienes grande poder; no tendrás una sola parte, | 17 Josua sprach zum Hause Josef, zu Ephraim und Manasse: Du bist ein großes Volk, und weil du so stark bist, sollst du nicht nur ein Los haben, |

But the mountain shall be thine; for it is a wood, and thou shalt cut it down: and the outgoings of it shall be thine: for thou shalt drive out the Canaanites, though they have iron chariots, and though they be strong. | 18 sino que aquel monte será tuyo; pues aunque es bosque, tú lo desmontarás y lo poseerás hasta sus límites más lejanos; porque tú arrojarás al cananeo, aunque tenga carros herrados, y aunque sea fuerte. | 18 sondern das Gebirge soll dein sein, wo der Wald ist; dort kannst du roden, und er soll dein sein, so weit er reicht; dann wirst du die Kanaaniter vertreiben, obwohl sie eiserne Wagen haben, denn du wirst mächtiger sein als sie. * *Nach anderer Überlieferung: denn sie sind mächtig. |
