Furthermore Elihu answered and said,

Let us choose to us judgment: let us know among ourselves what is good.

For Job hath said, I am righteous: and God hath taken away my judgment.

Should I lie against my right? my wound is incurable without transgression.

Dolorosa es mi herida sin haber hecho yo transgresión. | 6 ich soll lügen, obwohl ich recht habe, und mich quält der Pfeil, der mich traf, obwohl ich doch ohne Schuld bin. " |

What man is like Job, who drinketh up scorning like water?

Which goeth in company with the workers of iniquity, and walketh with wicked men.

For he hath said, It profiteth a man nothing that he should delight himself with God.

Therefore hearken unto me, ye men of understanding: far be it from God, that he should do wickedness; and from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity.
| 10 Por tanto, varones de inteligencia, oídme:
Lejos esté de Dios la impiedad,
Y del Omnipotente la iniquidad. | 10 Darum hört mir zu, ihr weisen Männer: Es sei ferne, daß Gott sollte gottlos handeln und der Allmächtige ungerecht; |

For the work of a man shall he render unto him, and cause every man to find according to his ways.
| 11 Porque él pagará al hombre según su obra,
Y le retribuirá conforme a su camino. | 11 sondern er vergilt dem Menschen, wie er verdient hat, und trifft einen jeden nach seinem Tun. |

Yea, surely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert judgment.
| 12 Sí, por cierto, Dios no hará injusticia,

Who hath given him a charge over the earth? or who hath disposed the whole world?

If he set his heart upon man, if he gather unto himself his spirit and his breath;

Y recogiese así su espíritu y su aliento, | 14 Wenn er nur an sich dächte, seinen Geist und Odem an sich zöge, |

All flesh shall perish together, and man shall turn again unto dust.
| 15 Toda carne perecería juntamente,
Y el hombre volvería al polvo. | 15 so würde alles Fleisch miteinander vergehen, und der Mensch würde wieder zu Staub werden. |

If now thou hast understanding, hear this: hearken to the voice of my words.
| 16 Si, pues, hay en ti entendimiento, oye esto;
Escucha la voz de mis palabras. | 16 Hast du nun Verstand, so höre das und merke auf die Stimme meiner Reden! |

Shall even he that hateth right govern? and wilt thou condemn him that is most just?
| 17 ¿Gobernará el que aborrece juicio?
¿Y condenarás tú al que es tan justo? | 17 Kann denn regieren, wer das Recht hasset? Oder willst du den verdammen, der gerecht und allmächtig ist, |

Is it fit to say to a king, Thou art wicked? and to princes, Ye are ungodly?
| 18 ¿Se dirá al rey: Perverso;
Y a los príncipes: Impíos? | 18 der zum König sagt: "Du heilloser Mann" und zu den Fürsten: "Ihr Gottlosen", |

How much less to him that accepteth not the persons of princes, nor regardeth the rich more than the poor? for they all are the work of his hands.
| 19 ¿Cuánto menos a aquel que no hace acepción de personas de príncipes.
Ni respeta más al rico que al pobre,
Porque todos son obra de sus manos? | 19 der nicht ansieht die Person der Fürsten und achtet den Vornehmen nicht mehr als den Armen? Denn sie sind alle seiner Hände Werk. |

In a moment shall they die, and the people shall be troubled at midnight, and pass away: and the mighty shall be taken away without hand.
| 20 En un momento morirán,
Y a medianoche se alborotarán los pueblos, y pasarán,
Y sin mano será quitado el poderoso. | 20 Plötzlich müssen die Leute sterben und zu Mitternacht erschrecken und vergehen; die Mächtigen werden weggenommen ohne Menschenhand. |

For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings.
| 21 Porque sus ojos están sobre los caminos del hombre,
Y ve todos sus pasos. | 21 Denn seine Augen sehen auf eines jeden Weg, und er schaut auf alle ihre Schritte. |

There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.
| 22 No hay tinieblas ni sombra de muerte
Donde se escondan los que hacen maldad. | 22 Es gibt keine Finsternis und kein Dunkel, wo sich verbergen könnten die Übeltäter. |

For he will not lay upon man more than right; that he should enter into judgment with God.
| 23 No carga, pues, él al hombre más de lo justo,
Para que vaya con Dios a juicio. | 23 Denn es wird niemand gesagt, wann er vor Gott zum Gericht erscheinen muß. |

He shall break in pieces mighty men without number, and set others in their stead.
| 24 El quebrantará a los fuertes sin indagación,
Y hará estar a otros en su lugar. | 24 Er bringt die Stolzen um, ohne sie erst zu verhören, und stellt andere an ihre Stelle; |

Therefore he knoweth their works, and he overturneth them in the night, so that they are destroyed.
| 25 Por tanto, él hará notorias las obras de ellos,
Cuando los trastorne en la noche, y sean quebrantados. | 25 denn er kennt ihre Werke, und er stürzt sie des Nachts, daß sie zerschlagen werden. |

He striketh them as wicked men in the open sight of others;
| 26 Como a malos los herirá
En lugar donde sean vistos; | 26 Er urteilt sie ab wie die Gottlosen an einem Ort, wo viele es sehen, |

Because they turned back from him, and would not consider any of his ways:
| 27 Por cuanto así se apartaron de él,
Y no consideraron ninguno de sus caminos, | 27 weil sie von ihm gewichen sind und verstanden keinen seiner Wege, |

So that they cause the cry of the poor to come unto him, and he heareth the cry of the afflicted.
| 28 Haciendo venir delante de él el clamor del pobre,
Y que oiga el clamor de los necesitados. | 28 so daß das Schreien der Armen vor ihn kommen mußte und er das Schreien der Elenden hörte. |

When he giveth quietness, who then can make trouble? and when he hideth his face, who then can behold him? whether it be done against a nation, or against a man only:
| 29 Si él diere reposo, ¿quién inquietará?
Si escondiere el rostro, ¿quién lo mirará?
Esto sobre una nación, y lo mismo sobre un hombre; | 29 - Wenn er sich aber ruhig hält, wer will ihn verdammen? Und wenn er das Antlitz verbirgt, wer kann ihn schauen unter allen Völkern und Leuten? - |

That the hypocrite reign not, lest the people be ensnared.

Para vejaciones del pueblo. | 30 So läßt er denn nicht einen Gottlosen regieren, der ein Fallstrick ist für das Volk. |

Surely it is meet to be said unto God, I have borne chastisement, I will not offend any more:
| 31 De seguro conviene que se diga a Dios:
He llevado ya castigo, no ofenderé ya más; | 31 Wenn einer zu Gott sagt: "Ich hab's getragen*, ich will kein Unrecht mehr tun. *Bisherige Lutherbibel: Ich habe gebüßt. Anderer Vorschlag: Ich habe geirrt. |

That which I see not teach thou me: if I have done iniquity, I will do no more.
| 32 Enséñame tú lo que yo no veo;
Si hice mal, no lo haré más. | 32 Was ich nicht sehe, das lehre du mich; hab ich unrecht gehandelt, ich will's nicht mehr tun", |

Should it be according to thy mind? he will recompense it, whether thou refuse, or whether thou choose; and not I: therefore speak what thou knowest.

El te retribuirá, ora rehúses, ora aceptes, y no yo;
Di, si no, lo que tú sabes. | 33 soll er dann nach deinem Sinn vergelten, weil du ja widerrufen hast? Denn du hast zu wählen und nicht ich, und was du erkannt, sage an! |

Let men of understanding tell me, and let a wise man hearken unto me.
| 34 Los hombres inteligentes dirán conmigo, | 34 Verständige Leute werden zu mir sagen und ein weiser Mann, der mir zuhört: " |

Job hath spoken without knowledge, and his words were without wisdom.
| 35 Que Job no habla con sabiduría,
Y que sus palabras no son con entendimiento. | 35 Hiob redet mit Unverstand, und seine Worte sind nicht klug. " |

My desire is that Job may be tried unto the end because of his answers for wicked men.
| 36 Deseo yo que Job sea probado ampliamente,
A causa de sus respuestas semejantes a las de los hombres inicuos. | 36 Oh, Hiob sollte bis zum Äußersten geprüft werden, weil er Antworten gibt wie freche Sünder. |

For he addeth rebellion unto his sin, he clappeth his hands among us, and multiplieth his words against God. | 37 Porque a su pecado añadió rebeldía;
Bate palmas contra nosotros,
Y contra Dios multiplica sus palabras. | 37 Denn zu seiner Sünde fügt er noch Frevel hinzu. Er treibt Spott unter uns und macht viele Worte wider Gott. |
