Among the smooth stones of the stream is thy portion; they, they are thy lot: even to them hast thou poured a drink offering, thou hast offered a meat offering. Should I receive comfort in these?

Upon a lofty and high mountain hast thou set thy bed: even thither wentest thou up to offer sacrifice.

| 8 Y tras la puerta y el umbral pusiste tu recuerdo; porque a otro, y no a mí, te descubriste, y subiste, y ensanchaste tu cama, e hiciste con ellos pacto; amaste su cama dondequiera que la veías. | 8 Und hinter die Tür und den Pfosten setztest du dein Denkzeichen. Denn du hast dich von mir abgewandt und aufgedeckt dein Lager, es bestiegen und weit gemacht. Du hast dich mit ihnen verbunden, liebtest ihr Lager und buhltest mit ihnen. |

And thou wentest to the king with ointment, and didst increase thy perfumes, and didst send thy messengers far off, and didst debase thyself even unto hell.

Thou art wearied in the greatness of thy way; yet saidst thou not, There is no hope: thou hast found the life of thine hand; therefore thou wast not grieved.
| 10 En la multitud de tus caminos te cansaste, pero no dijiste: No hay remedio; hallaste nuevo vigor en tu mano, por tanto, no te desalentaste. | 10 Du hast dich abgemüht mit der Menge deiner Wege und sprachst nicht: Das lasse ich; sondern du fandest ja noch Leben in deinen Gliedern, so wurdest du dessen nicht müde. |

And of whom hast thou been afraid or feared, that thou hast lied, and hast not remembered me, nor laid it to thy heart? have not I held my peace even of old, and thou fearest me not?
| 11 ¿Y de quién te asustaste y temiste, que has faltado a la fe, y no te has acordado de mí, ni te vino al pensamiento? ¿No he guardado silencio desde tiempos antiguos, y nunca me has temido? | 11 Wen hast du gescheut und gefürchtet, daß du treulos wurdest und nicht an mich dachtest und es nicht zu Herzen nahmst? Ist es nicht so: Weil ich schwieg und mich verbarg, hast du mich nicht gefürchtet? |

I will declare thy righteousness, and thy works; for they shall not profit thee.
| 12 Yo publicaré tu justicia y tus obras, que no te aprovecharán. | 12 Ich will aber deine Gerechtigkeit kundtun und deine Werke, daß sie dir nichts nütze sind. |

When thou criest, let thy companies deliver thee; but the wind shall carry them all away; vanity shall take them: but he that putteth his trust in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain;
| 13 Cuando clames, que te libren tus ídolos; pero a todos ellos llevará el viento, un soplo los arrebatará; mas el que en mí confía tendrá la tierra por heredad, y poseerá mi santo monte. | 13 Wenn du rufen wirst, so sollen dir deine vielen Götzen helfen. Aber der Wind wird sie alle wegführen, und ein Hauch wird sie wegnehmen. Doch wer auf mich traut, wird das Land erben und meinen heiligen Berg besitzen. |

And shall say, Cast ye up, cast ye up, prepare the way, take up the stumblingblock out of the way of my people.

For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
| 15 Porque así dijo el Alto y Sublime, el que habita la eternidad, y cuyo nombre es el Santo: Yo habito en la altura y la santidad, y con el quebrantado y humilde de espíritu, para hacer vivir el espíritu de los humildes, y para vivificar el corazón de los quebrantados. | 15 Denn so spricht der Hohe und Erhabene, der ewig wohnt, dessen Name heilig ist: Ich wohne in der Höhe und im Heiligtum und bei denen, die zerschlagenen und demütigen Geistes sind, auf daß ich erquicke den Geist der Gedemütigten und das Herz der Zerschlagenen. |

For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth: for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls which I have made.

I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the LORD; and I will heal him.
