And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmeelites, which had brought him down thither.
| 1 Llevado, pues, José a Egipto, Potifar oficial de Faraón, capitán de la guardia, varón egipcio, lo compró de los ismaelitas que lo habían llevado allá. | 1 Josef wurde hinab nach Ägypten geführt, und Potifar, ein ägyptischer Mann, des Pharao Kämmerer und Oberster der Leibwache, kaufte ihn von den Ismaelitern, die ihn hinabgebracht hatten. |

And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.
| 2 Mas Jehová estaba con José, y fue varón próspero; y estaba en la casa de su amo el egipcio. | 2 Und der HERR war mit Josef, so daß er ein Mann wurde, dem alles glückte. Und er war in seines Herrn, des Ägypters, Hause. |

And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand.
| 3 Y vio su amo que Jehová estaba con él, y que todo lo que él hacía, Jehová lo hacía prosperar en su mano. | 3 Und sein Herr sah, daß der HERR mit ihm war; denn alles, was er tat, das ließ der HERR in seiner Hand glücken, |

And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.
| 4 Así halló José gracia en sus ojos, y le servía; y él le hizo mayordomo de su casa y entregó en su poder todo lo que tenía. | 4 so daß er Gnade fand vor seinem Herrn und sein Diener wurde. Der setzte ihn über sein Haus; und alles, was er hatte, tat er unter seine Hände. |

And it came to pass from the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the LORD was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field.
| 5 Y aconteció que desde cuando le dio el encargo de su casa y de todo lo que tenía, Jehová bendijo la casa del egipcio a causa de José, y la bendición de Jehová estaba sobre todo lo que tenía, así en casa como en el campo. | 5 Und von der Zeit an, da er ihn über sein Haus und alle seine Güter gesetzt hatte, segnete der HERR des Ägypters Haus um Josefs willen, und es war lauter Segen des HERRN in allem, was er hatte, zu Hause und auf dem Felde. |

And he left all that he had in Joseph's hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was a goodly person, and well favoured.
| 6 Y dejó todo lo que tenía en mano de José, y con él no se preocupaba de cosa alguna sino del pan que comía. Y era José de hermoso semblante y bella presencia. | 6 Darum ließ er alles unter Josefs Händen, was er hatte, und kümmerte sich, da er ihn hatte, um nichts außer um das, was er aß und trank. Und Josef war schön an Gestalt und hübsch von Angesicht. |

And it came to pass after these things, that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me.
| 7 Aconteció después de esto, que la mujer de su amo puso sus ojos en José, y dijo: Duerme conmigo. | 7 Und es begab sich danach, daß seines Herrn Frau ihre Augen auf Josef warf und sprach: Lege dich zu mir! |

But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand;
| 8 Y él no quiso, y dijo a la mujer de su amo: He aquí que mi señor no se preocupa conmigo de lo que hay en casa, y ha puesto en mi mano todo lo que tiene. | 8 Er weigerte sich aber und sprach zu ihr: Siehe, mein Herr kümmert sich, da er mich hat, um nichts, was im Hause ist, und alles, was er hat, das hat er unter meine Hände getan; |

There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?
| 9 No hay otro mayor que yo en esta casa, y ninguna cosa me ha reservado sino a ti, por cuanto tú eres su mujer; ¿cómo, pues, haría yo este grande mal, y pecaría contra Dios? | 9 er ist in diesem Hause nicht größer als ich, und er hat mir nichts vorenthalten außer dir, weil du seine Frau bist. Wie sollte ich denn nun ein solch großes Übel tun und gegen Gott sündigen?a |

And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her.
| 10 Hablando ella a José cada día, y no escuchándola él para acostarse al lado de ella, para estar con ella, | 10 Und sie bedrängte Josef mit solchen Worten täglich. Aber er gehorchte ihr nicht, daß er sich zu ihr legte und bei ihr wäre. |

And it came to pass about this time, that Joseph went into the house to do his business; and there was none of the men of the house there within.
| 11 aconteció que entró él un día en casa para hacer su oficio, y no había nadie de los de casa allí. | 11 Es begab sich eines Tages, daß Josef in das Haus ging, seine Arbeit zu tun, und kein Mensch vom Gesinde des Hauses war dabei. |

And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out.
| 12 Y ella lo asió por su ropa, diciendo: Duerme conmigo. Entonces él dejó su ropa en las manos de ella, y huyó y salió. | 12 Und sie erwischte ihn bei seinem Kleid und sprach: Lege dich zu mir! Aber er ließ das Kleid in ihrer Hand und floh und lief zum Hause hinaus. |

And it came to pass, when she saw that he had left his garment in her hand, and was fled forth,
| 13 Cuando vio ella que le había dejado su ropa en sus manos, y había huido fuera, | 13 Als sie nun sah, daß er sein Kleid in ihrer Hand ließ und hinaus entfloh, |

That she called unto the men of her house, and spake unto them, saying, See, he hath brought in an Hebrew unto us to mock us; he came in unto me to lie with me, and I cried with a loud voice:
| 14 llamó a los de casa, y les habló diciendo: Mirad, nos ha traído un hebreo para que hiciese burla de nosotros. Vino él a mí para dormir conmigo, y yo di grandes voces; | 14 rief sie das Gesinde ihres Hauses und sprach zu ihnen: Seht, er hat uns den hebräischen Mann hergebracht, daß der seinen Mutwillen mit uns treibe. Er kam zu mir herein und wollte sich zu mir legen; aber ich rief mit lauter Stimme. |

And it came to pass, when he heard that I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment with me, and fled, and got him out.
| 15 y viendo que yo alzaba la voz y gritaba, dejó junto a mí su ropa, y huyó y salió. | 15 Und als er hörte, daß ich ein Geschrei machte und rief, da ließ er sein Kleid bei mir und floh und lief hinaus. |

And she laid up his garment by her, until his lord came home.
| 16 Y ella puso junto a sí la ropa de José, hasta que vino su señor a su casa. | 16 Und sie legte sein Kleid neben sich, bis sein Herr heimkam, |

And she spake unto him according to these words, saying, The Hebrew servant, which thou hast brought unto us, came in unto me to mock me:
| 17 Entonces le habló ella las mismas palabras, diciendo: El siervo hebreo que nos trajiste, vino a mí para deshonrarme. | 17 und sagte zu ihm ebendieselben Worte und sprach: Der hebräische Knecht, den du uns hergebracht hast, kam zu mir herein und wollte seinen Mutwillen mit mir treiben. |

And it came to pass, as I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment with me, and fled out.
| 18 Y cuando yo alcé mi voz y grité, él dejó su ropa junto a mí y huyó fuera. | 18 Als ich aber ein Geschrei machte und rief, da ließ er sein Kleid bei mir und floh hinaus. |

And it came to pass, when his master heard the words of his wife, which she spake unto him, saying, After this manner did thy servant to me; that his wrath was kindled.
| 19 Y sucedió que cuando oyó el amo de José las palabras que su mujer le hablaba, diciendo: Así me ha tratado tu siervo, se encendió su furor. | 19 Als sein Herr die Worte seiner Frau hörte, die sie ihm sagte und sprach: So hat dein Knecht an mir getan, wurde er sehr zornig. |

And Joseph's master took him, and put him into the prison, a place where the king's prisoners were bound: and he was there in the prison.
| 20 Y tomó su amo a José, y lo puso en la cárcel, donde estaban los presos del rey, y estuvo allí en la cárcel. | 20 Da nahm ihn sein Herr und legte ihn ins Gefängnis, in dem des Königs Gefangene waren. Und er lag allda im Gefängnis. |

But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison.
| 21 Pero Jehová estaba con José y le extendió su misericordia, y le dio gracia en los ojos del jefe de la cárcel. | 21 Aber der HERR war mit ihm und neigte die Herzen zu ihm und ließ ihn Gnade finden vor dem Amtmann über das Gefängnis, |

And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph's hand all the prisoners that were in the prison; and whatsoever they did there, he was the doer of it.
| 22 Y el jefe de la cárcel entregó en mano de José el cuidado de todos los presos que había en aquella prisión; todo lo que se hacía allí, él lo hacía. | 22 so daß er ihm alle Gefangenen im Gefängnis unter seine Hand gab und alles, was dort geschah, durch ihn geschehen mußte. |

The keeper of the prison looked not to any thing that was under his hand; because the LORD was with him, and that which he did, the LORD made it to prosper. | 23 No necesitaba atender el jefe de la cárcel cosa alguna de las que estaban al cuidado de José, porque Jehová estaba con José, y lo que él hacía, Jehová lo prosperaba. | 23 Der Amtmann über das Gefängnis kümmerte sich um nichts; denn der HERR war mit Josef, und was er tat, dazu gab der HERR Glück. |
