The word of the LORD came unto me again, saying,
| 1 Vino a mí palabra de Jehová, | 1 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir: |

What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge?
| 2 ¿Qué pensáis vosotros, los que usáis este refrán sobre la tierra de Israel, que dice: Los padres comieron las uvas agrias, y los dientes de los hijos tienen la dentera? | 2 Was habt ihr unter euch im Lande Israels für ein Sprichwort: "Die Väter haben saure Trauben gegessen, aber den Kindern sind die Zähne davon stumpf geworden"? |

As I live, saith the Lord GOD, ye shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in Israel.
| 3 Vivo yo, dice Jehová el Señor, que nunca más tendréis por qué usar este refrán en Israel. | 3 So wahr ich lebe, spricht Gott der HERR: dies Sprichwort soll nicht mehr unter euch umgehen in Israel. |

Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.
| 4 He aquí que todas las almas son mías; como el alma del padre, así el alma del hijo es mía; el alma que pecare, esa morirá. | 4 Denn siehe, alle Menschen gehören mir; die Väter gehören mir so gut wie die Söhne; jeder, der sündigt, soll sterben. |

But if a man be just, and do that which is lawful and right,
| 5 Y el hombre que fuere justo, e hiciere según el derecho y la justicia; | 5 Wenn nun einer gerecht ist und Recht und Gerechtigkeit übt, |

And hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, neither hath defiled his neighbour's wife, neither hath come near to a menstruous woman,
| 6 que no comiere sobre los montes, ni alzare sus ojos a los ídolos de la casa de Israel, ni violare la mujer de su prójimo, ni se llegare a la mujer menstruosa, | 6 der von den Höhenopfern nicht ißt und seine Augen nicht aufhebt zu den Götzen des Hauses Israel, der seines Nächsten Weib nicht befleckt und nicht liegt bei einer Frau in ihrer Unreinheit, |

And hath not oppressed any, but hath restored to the debtor his pledge, hath spoiled none by violence, hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment;
| 7 ni oprimiere a ninguno; que al deudor devolviere su prenda, que no cometiere robo, y que diere de su pan al hambriento y cubriere al desnudo con vestido, | 7 der niemand bedrückt, der dem Schuldner sein Pfand zurückgibt und niemand etwas mit Gewalt nimmt, der mit dem Hungrigen sein Brot teilt und den Nackten kleidet, |

He that hath not given forth upon usury, neither hath taken any increase, that hath withdrawn his hand from iniquity, hath executed true judgment between man and man,
| 8 que no prestare a interés ni tomare usura; que de la maldad retrajere su mano, e hiciere juicio verdadero entre hombre y hombre, | 8 der nicht auf Zinsen gibt und keinen Aufschlag nimmt, der seine Hand von Unrecht zurückhält und rechtes Urteil fällt unter den Leuten, |

Hath walked in my statutes, and hath kept my judgments, to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live, saith the Lord GOD.
| 9 en mis ordenanzas caminare, y guardare mis decretos para hacer rectamente, éste es justo; éste vivirá, dice Jehová el Señor. | 9 der nach meinen Gesetzen lebt und meine Gebote hält, daß er danach tut: das ist ein Gerechter, der soll das Leben behalten, spricht Gott der HERR. |

If he beget a son that is a robber, a shedder of blood, and that doeth the like to any one of these things,
| 10 Mas si engendrare hijo ladrón, derramador de sangre, o que haga alguna cosa de estas, | 10 Wenn er aber einen gewalttätigen Sohn zeugt, der Blut vergießt oder eine dieser Sünden tut, |

And that doeth not any of those duties, but even hath eaten upon the mountains, and defiled his neighbour's wife,
| 11 y que no haga las otras, sino que comiere sobre los montes, o violare la mujer de su prójimo, | 11 während der Vater all das nicht getan hat: wenn er von den Höhenopfern ißt und seines Nächsten Weib befleckt, |

Hath oppressed the poor and needy, hath spoiled by violence, hath not restored the pledge, and hath lifted up his eyes to the idols, hath committed abomination,
| 12 al pobre y menesteroso oprimiere, cometiere robos, no devolviere la prenda, o alzare sus ojos a los ídolos e hiciere abominación, | 12 die Armen und Elenden bedrückt, mit Gewalt etwas nimmt, das Pfand nicht zurückgibt, seine Augen zu den Götzen aufhebt und Greuel begeht, |

Hath given forth upon usury, and hath taken increase: shall he then live? he shall not live: he hath done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him.
| 13 prestare a interés y tomare usura; ¿vivirá éste? No vivirá. Todas estas abominaciones hizo; de cierto morirá, su sangre será sobre él. | 13 auf Zinsen gibt und einen Aufschlag nimmt - sollte der am Leben bleiben? Er soll nicht leben, sondern weil er alle diese Greuel getan hat, soll er des Todes sterben; seine Blutschuld komme über ihn. |

Now, lo, if he beget a son, that seeth all his father's sins which he hath done, and considereth, and doeth not such like,
| 14 Pero si éste engendrare hijo, el cual viere todos los pecados que su padre hizo, y viéndolos no hiciere según ellos; | 14 Wenn der dann aber einen Sohn zeugt, der alle diese Sünden sieht, die sein Vater tut - wenn er sie sieht und doch nicht so handelt, |

Neither hath oppressed any, hath not withholden the pledge, neither hath spoiled by violence, but hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment,
| 16 ni oprimiere a nadie, la prenda no retuviere, ni cometiere robos; al hambriento diere de su pan, y cubriere con vestido al desnudo; | 16 niemand bedrückt, kein Pfand fordert, nichts mit Gewalt nimmt, sein Brot mit dem Hungrigen teilt und den Nackten kleidet, |

That hath taken off his hand from the poor, that hath not received usury nor increase, hath executed my judgments, hath walked in my statutes; he shall not die for the iniquity of his father, he shall surely live.
| 17 apartare su mano del pobre, interés y usura no recibiere; guardare mis decretos y anduviere en mis ordenanzas; éste no morirá por la maldad de su padre; de cierto vivirá. | 17 seine Hand von Unrecht zurückhält, nicht Zinsen noch Aufschlag nimmt, sondern meine Gebote hält und nach meinen Gesetzen lebt: der soll nicht sterben um der Schuld seines Vaters willen, sondern soll am Leben bleiben. |

As for his father, because he cruelly oppressed, spoiled his brother by violence, and did that which is not good among his people, lo, even he shall die in his iniquity.
| 18 Su padre, por cuanto hizo agravio, despojó violentamente al hermano, e hizo en medio de su pueblo lo que no es bueno, he aquí que él morirá por su maldad. | 18 Aber sein Vater, der Gewalt und Unrecht geübt und unter seinem Volk getan hat, was nicht taugt, siehe, der soll sterben um seiner Schuld willen. |

Yet say ye, Why? doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son hath done that which is lawful and right, and hath kept all my statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live.
| 19 Y si dijereis: ¿Por qué el hijo no llevará el pecado de su padre? Porque el hijo hizo según el derecho y la justicia, guardó todos mis estatutos y los cumplió, de cierto vivirá. | 19 Doch ihr sagt: "Warum soll denn ein Sohn nicht die Schuld seines Vaters tragen?" Weil der Sohn Recht und Gerechtigkeit geübt und alle meine Gesetze gehalten und danach getan hat, soll er am Leben bleiben. |

The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
| 20 El alma que pecare, esa morirá; el hijo no llevará el pecado del padre, ni el padre llevará el pecado del hijo; la justicia del justo será sobre él, y la impiedad del impío será sobre él. | 20 Denn nur wer sündigt, der soll sterben. Der Sohn soll nicht tragen die Schuld des Vaters, und der Vater soll nicht tragen die Schuld des Sohnes, sondern die Gerechtigkeit des Gerechten soll ihm allein zugute kommen, und die Ungerechtigkeit des Ungerechten soll auf ihm allein liegen. |

But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
| 21 Mas el impío, si se apartare de todos sus pecados que hizo, y guardare todos mis estatutos e hiciere según el derecho y la justicia, de cierto vivirá; no morirá. | 21 Wenn sich aber der Gottlose bekehrt von allen seinen Sünden, die er getan hat, und hält alle meine Gesetze und übt Recht und Gerechtigkeit, so soll er am Leben bleiben und nicht sterben. |

All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.
| 22 Todas las transgresiones que cometió, no le serán recordadas; en su justicia que hizo vivirá. | 22 Es soll an alle seine Übertretungen, die er begangen hat, nicht gedacht werden, sondern er soll am Leben bleiben um der Gerechtigkeit willen, die er getan hat. |

Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?
| 23 ¿Quiero yo la muerte del impío? dice Jehová el Señor. ¿No vivirá, si se apartare de sus caminos? | 23 Meinst du, daß ich Gefallen habe am Tode des Gottlosen, spricht Gott der HERR, und nicht vielmehr daran, daß er sich bekehrt von seinen Wegen und am Leben bleibt? |

But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.
| 24 Mas si el justo se apartare de su justicia y cometiere maldad, e hiciere conforme a todas las abominaciones que el impío hizo, ¿vivirá él? Ninguna de las justicias que hizo le serán tenidas en cuenta; por su rebelión con que prevaricó, y por el pecado que cometió, por ello morirá. | 24 Und wenn sich der Gerechte abkehrt von seiner Gerechtigkeit und tut Unrecht und lebt nach allen Greueln, die der Gottlose tut, sollte der am Leben bleiben? An alle seine Gerechtigkeit, die er getan hat, soll nicht gedacht werden, sondern in seiner Übertretung und Sünde, die er getan hat, soll er sterben. |

Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal?
| 25 Y si dijereis: No es recto el camino del Señor; oíd ahora, casa de Israel: ¿No es recto mi camino? ¿no son vuestros caminos torcidos? | 25 Und doch sagt ihr: "Der Herr handelt nicht recht." So höret nun, ihr vom Hause Israel: Handle denn ich unrecht? Ist's nicht vielmehr so, daß ihr unrecht handelt? |

When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.
| 26 Apartándose el justo de su justicia, y haciendo iniquidad, él morirá por ello; por la iniquidad que hizo, morirá. | 26 Denn wenn der Gerechte sich abkehrt von seiner Gerechtigkeit und tut Unrecht, so muß er sterben; um seines Unrechts willen, das er getan hat, muß er sterben. |

Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.
| 27 Y apartándose el impío de su impiedad que hizo, y haciendo según el derecho y la justicia, hará vivir su alma. | 27 Wenn sich dagegen der Ungerechte abkehrt von seiner Ungerechtigkeit, die er getan hat, und übt nun Recht und Gerechtigkeit, der wird sein Leben erhalten. |

Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
| 28 Porque miró y se apartó de todas sus transgresiones que había cometido, de cierto vivirá; no morirá. | 28 Denn weil er es gesehen und sich bekehrt hat von allen seinen Übertretungen, die er begangen hat, so soll er leben und nicht sterben. |

Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal?
| 29 Si aún dijere la casa de Israel: No es recto el camino del Señor; ¿no son rectos mis caminos, casa de Israel? Ciertamente, vuestros caminos no son rectos. | 29 Und doch sprechen die vom Hause Israel: "Der Herr handelt nicht recht." Sollte ich unrecht handeln, Haus Israel? Ist es nicht vielmehr so, daß ihr unrecht handelt? |

Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
| 30 Por tanto, yo os juzgaré a cada uno según sus caminos, oh casa de Israel, dice Jehová el Señor. Convertíos, y apartaos de todas vuestras transgresiones, y no os será la iniquidad causa de ruina. | 30 Darum will ich euch richten, ihr vom Hause Israel, einen jeden nach seinem Weg, spricht Gott der HERR. Kehrt um und kehrt euch ab von allen euren Übertretungen, damit ihr nicht durch sie in Schuld fallt. |

Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
| 31 Echad de vosotros todas vuestras transgresiones con que habéis pecado, y haceos un corazón nuevo y un espíritu nuevo. ¿Por qué moriréis, casa de Israel? | 31 Werft von euch alle eure Übertretungen, die ihr begangen habt, und macht euch ein neues Herz und einen neuen Geist. Denn warum wollt ihr sterben, ihr vom Haus Israel? |

For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye. | 32 Porque no quiero la muerte del que muere, dice Jehová el Señor; convertíos, pues, y viviréis. | 32 Denn ich habe kein Gefallen am Tod des Sterbenden, spricht Gott der HERR. Darum bekehrt euch, so werdet ihr leben. |
