And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
| 1 Vino a mí palabra de Jehová, | 1 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir: |

Son of man, put forth a riddle, and speak a parable unto the house of Israel;
| 2 Hijo de hombre, propón una figura, y compón una parábola a la casa de Israel. | 2 Du Menschenkind, lege dem Hause Israel ein Rätsel vor und ein Gleichnis |

And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; A great eagle with great wings, longwinged, full of feathers, which had divers colours, came unto Lebanon, and took the highest branch of the cedar:
| 3 Y dirás: Así ha dicho Jehová el Señor: Una gran águila, de grandes alas y de largos miembros, llena de plumas de diversos colores, vino al Líbano, y tomó el cogollo del cedro. | 3 und sprich: So spricht Gott der HERR: Ein großer Adler mit großen Flügeln und langen Fittichen und vollen Schwingen, die bunt waren, kam auf den Libanon und nahm hinweg den Wipfel einer Zeder |

He cropped off the top of his young twigs, and carried it into a land of traffick; he set it in a city of merchants.
| 4 Arrancó el principal de sus renuevos y lo llevó a tierra de mercaderes, y lo puso en una ciudad de comerciantes. | 4 und brach die Spitze ab und führte sie ins Krämerland und setzte sie in die Händlerstadt. |

He took also of the seed of the land, and planted it in a fruitful field; he placed it by great waters, and set it as a willow tree.
| 5 Tomó también de la simiente de la tierra, y la puso en un campo bueno para sembrar, la plantó junto a aguas abundantes, la puso como un sauce. | 5 Dann nahm er ein Gewächs des Landes und pflanzte es in gutes Land, wo viel Wasser war, und setzte es am Ufer ein. |

And it grew, and became a spreading vine of low stature, whose branches turned toward him, and the roots thereof were under him: so it became a vine, and brought forth branches, and shot forth sprigs.
| 6 Y brotó, y se hizo una vid de mucho ramaje, de poca altura, y sus ramas miraban al águila, y sus raíces estaban debajo de ella; así que se hizo una vid, y arrojó sarmientos y echó mugrones. | 6 Und es wuchs und wurde ein ausgebreiteter Weinstock mit niedrigem Stamm; denn seine Ranken bogen sich zu ihm, und seine Wurzeln blieben unter ihm; und so wurde es ein Weinstock, der Schößlinge hervortrieb und Zweige. |

There was also another great eagle with great wings and many feathers: and, behold, this vine did bend her roots toward him, and shot forth her branches toward him, that he might water it by the furrows of her plantation.
| 7 Había también otra gran águila, de grandes alas y de muchas plumas; y he aquí que esta vid juntó cerca de ella sus raíces, y extendió hacia ella sus ramas, para ser regada por ella por los surcos de su plantío. | 7 Da kam ein anderer großer Adler mit großen Flügeln und starken Schwingen. Und siehe, der Weinstock bog seine Wurzeln zu diesem Adler hin und streckte seine Ranken ihm entgegen; der Adler sollte ihm mehr Wasser geben als das Beet, in das er gepflanzt war. |

It was planted in a good soil by great waters, that it might bring forth branches, and that it might bear fruit, that it might be a goodly vine.
| 8 En un buen campo, junto a muchas aguas, fue plantada, para que hiciese ramas y diese fruto, y para que fuese vid robusta. | 8 Und er war doch auf guten Boden an viel Wasser gepflanzt, so daß er wohl hätte Zweige bringen können, Früchte tragen und ein herrlicher Weinstock werden. |

Say thou, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Shall it prosper? shall he not pull up the roots thereof, and cut off the fruit thereof, that it wither? it shall wither in all the leaves of her spring, even without great power or many people to pluck it up by the roots thereof.
| 9 Diles: Así ha dicho Jehová el Señor: ¿Será prosperada? ¿No arrancará sus raíces, y destruirá su fruto, y se secará? Todas sus hojas lozanas se secarán; y eso sin gran poder ni mucha gente para arrancarla de sus raíces. | 9 So sage nun: So spricht Gott der HERR: Sollte der geraten? Wird man nicht seine Wurzeln ausreißen, daß seine Früchte verderben? Und er wird verdorren; alle Blätter, die ihm gewachsen sind, werden verwelken. Ohne große Kraft und ohne viel Volk wird man ihn mit seinen Wurzeln ausreißen. |

Yea, behold, being planted, shall it prosper? shall it not utterly wither, when the east wind toucheth it? it shall wither in the furrows where it grew.
| 10 Y he aquí está plantada; ¿será prosperada? ¿No se secará del todo cuando el viento solano la toque? En los surcos de su verdor se secará. | 10 Siehe, er ist zwar gepflanzt; aber sollte er geraten? Sobald der Ostwind über ihn kommt, wird er verdorren auf dem Beet, auf dem er gewachsen ist. |

Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
| 11 Y vino a mí palabra de Jehová, | 11 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir: |

Say now to the rebellious house, Know ye not what these things mean? tell them, Behold, the king of Babylon is come to Jerusalem, and hath taken the king thereof, and the princes thereof, and led them with him to Babylon;
| 12 Di ahora a la casa rebelde: ¿No habéis entendido qué significan estas cosas? Diles: He aquí que el rey de Babilonia vino a Jerusalén, y tomó a tu rey y a sus príncipes, y los llevó consigo a Babilonia. | 12 Sprich doch zu dem Haus des Widerspruchs: Wißt ihr nicht, was damit gemeint ist? Und sprich: Siehe, es kam der König von Babel nach Jerusalem und nahm seinen König und seine Oberen und führte sie weg zu sich nach Babel. |

And hath taken of the king's seed, and made a covenant with him, and hath taken an oath of him: he hath also taken the mighty of the land:
| 13 Tomó también a uno de la descendencia real e hizo pacto con él, y le hizo prestar juramento; y se llevó consigo a los poderosos de la tierra, | 13 Und er nahm einen vom königlichen Geschlecht und schloß einen Bund mit ihm und nahm einen Eid von ihm; aber die Gewaltigen im Lande führte er fort, |

That the kingdom might be base, that it might not lift itself up, but that by keeping of his covenant it might stand.
| 14 para que el reino fuese abatido y no se levantase, a fin de que guardando el pacto, permaneciese en pie. | 14 damit das Königtum niedrig bliebe und sich nicht erheben könnte, sondern sein Bund gehalten würde und bestünde. |

But he rebelled against him in sending his ambassadors into Egypt, that they might give him horses and much people. Shall he prosper? shall he escape that doeth such things? or shall he break the covenant, and be delivered?
| 15 Pero se rebeló contra él, enviando embajadores a Egipto para que le diese caballos y mucha gente. ¿Será prosperado, escapará el que estas cosas hizo? El que rompió el pacto, ¿podrá escapar? | 15 Aber er fiel von ihm ab und sandte seine Boten nach Ägypten, daß man ihm Rosse und viel Kriegsvolk schicken sollte. Sollte es ihm gelingen? Sollte er davonkommen, wenn er das tut? Sollte er, der den Bund bricht, davonkommen? |

As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely in the place where the king dwelleth that made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant he brake, even with him in the midst of Babylon he shall die.
| 16 Vivo yo, dice Jehová el Señor, que morirá en medio de Babilonia, en el lugar donde habita el rey que le hizo reinar, cuyo juramento menospreció, y cuyo pacto hecho con él rompió. | 16 So wahr ich lebe, spricht Gott der HERR: an dem Ort des Königs, der ihn als König eingesetzt hat, dessen Eid er verachtet und dessen Bund er gebrochen hat, da soll er sterben, mitten in Babel. |

Neither shall Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company make for him in the war, by casting up mounts, and building forts, to cut off many persons:
| 17 Y ni con gran ejército ni con mucha compañía hará Faraón nada por él en la batalla, cuando se levanten vallados y se edifiquen torres para cortar muchas vidas. | 17 Auch wird ihm der Pharao nicht beistehen im Kriege mit einem großen Heer und viel Volk, wenn man zum Sturm den Wall aufwerfen und die Bollwerke bauen wird, so daß viele umkommen. |

Seeing he despised the oath by breaking the covenant, when, lo, he had given his hand, and hath done all these things, he shall not escape.
| 18 Por cuanto menospreció el juramento y quebrantó el pacto, cuando he aquí que había dado su mano, y ha hecho todas estas cosas, no escapará. | 18 Denn weil er den Eid verachtet und den Bund gebrochen hat, weil er seine Hand darauf gegeben und doch dies alles getan hat, wird er nicht davonkommen. |

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; As I live, surely mine oath that he hath despised, and my covenant that he hath broken, even it will I recompense upon his own head.
| 19 Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová el Señor: Vivo yo, que el juramento mío que menospreció, y mi pacto que ha quebrantado, lo traeré sobre su misma cabeza. | 19 Darum spricht Gott der HERR: So wahr ich lebe, will ich meinen Eid, den er verachtet hat, und meinen Bund, den er gebrochen hat, auf seinen Kopf kommen lassen. |

And I will spread my net upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare, and I will bring him to Babylon, and will plead with him there for his trespass that he hath trespassed against me.
| 20 Extenderé sobre él mi red, y será preso en mi lazo, y lo haré venir a Babilonia, y allí entraré en juicio con él por su prevaricación con que contra mí se ha rebelado. | 20 Ich will mein Netz über ihn werfen, und er soll in meinem Garn gefangen werden, und ich will ihn nach Babel bringen und will dort mit ihm ins Gericht gehen, weil er mir die Treue gebrochen hat. |

And all his fugitives with all his bands shall fall by the sword, and they that remain shall be scattered toward all winds: and ye shall know that I the LORD have spoken it.
| 21 Y todos sus fugitivos, con todas sus tropas, caerán a espada, y los que queden serán esparcidos a todos los vientos; y sabréis que yo Jehová he hablado. | 21 Und alle Auserlesenen von seiner ganzen Streitmacht sollen durchs Schwert fallen, und alle, die übriggeblieben sind, sollen in alle Winde zerstreut werden, und ihr sollt erfahren, daß ich, der HERR, es geredet habe. |

Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also take of the highest branch of the high cedar, and will set it; I will crop off from the top of his young twigs a tender one, and will plant it upon an high mountain and eminent:
| 22 Así ha dicho Jehová el Señor: Tomaré yo del cogollo de aquel alto cedro, y lo plantaré; del principal de sus renuevos cortaré un tallo, y lo plantaré sobre el monte alto y sublime. | 22 So spricht Gott der HERR: Dann will ich selbst von dem Wipfel der Zeder die Spitze wegnehmen und ihr einen Platz geben; ich will oben von ihren Zweigen ein zartes Reis brechen und will's auf einen hohen und erhabenen Berg pflanzen. |

In the mountain of the height of Israel will I plant it: and it shall bring forth boughs, and bear fruit, and be a goodly cedar: and under it shall dwell all fowl of every wing; in the shadow of the branches thereof shall they dwell.
| 23 En el monte alto de Israel lo plantaré, y alzará ramas, y dará fruto, y se hará magnífico cedro; y habitarán debajo de él todas las aves de toda especie; a la sombra de sus ramas habitarán. | 23 Auf den hohen Berg Israels will ich's pflanzen, daß es Zweige gewinnt und Früchte bringt und ein herrlicher Zedernbaum wird, so daß Vögel aller Art in ihm wohnen und alles, was fliegt, im Schatten seiner Zweige bleiben kann. |

And all the trees of the field shall know that I the LORD have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish: I the LORD have spoken and have done it. | 24 Y sabrán todos los árboles del campo que yo Jehová abatí el árbol sublime, levanté el árbol bajo, hice secar el árbol verde, e hice reverdecer el árbol seco. Yo Jehová lo he dicho, y lo haré. | 24 Und alle Bäume auf dem Felde sollen erkennen, daß ich der HERR bin: Ich erniedrige den hohen Baum und erhöhe den niedrigen; ich lasse den grünen Baum verdorren, und den dürren Baum lasse ich grünen. Ich, der HERR, rede es und tue es auch. |
