Now these are the judgments which thou shalt set before them.
| 1 Estas son las leyes que les propondrás. | 1 Dies sind die Rechtsordnungen, die du ihnen vorlegen sollst: |

If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing.
| 2 Si comprares siervo hebreo, seis años servirá; mas al séptimo saldrá libre, de balde. | 2 Wenn du einen hebräischen Sklaven kaufst, so soll er dir sechs Jahre dienen; im siebenten Jahr aber soll er freigelassen werden ohne Lösegeld. |

If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he were married, then his wife shall go out with him.
| 3 Si entró solo, solo saldrá; si tenía mujer, saldrá él y su mujer con él. | 3 Ist er ohne Frau gekommen, so soll er auch ohne Frau gehen; ist er aber mit seiner Frau gekommen, so soll sie mit ihm gehen. |

If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself.
| 4 Si su amo le hubiere dado mujer, y ella le diere hijos o hijas, la mujer y sus hijos serán de su amo, y él saldrá solo. | 4 Hat ihm aber sein Herr eine Frau gegeben und hat sie ihm Söhne oder Töchter geboren, so sollen Frau und Kinder seinem Herrn gehören, er aber soll ohne Frau gehen. |

And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free:
| 5 Y si el siervo dijere: Yo amo a mi señor, a mi mujer y a mis hijos, no saldré libre; | 5 Spricht aber der Sklave: Ich habe meinen Herrn lieb und mein Weib und Kind, ich will nicht frei werden, |

Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever.
| 6 entonces su amo lo llevará ante los jueces, y le hará estar junto a la puerta o al poste; y su amo le horadará la oreja con lesna, y será su siervo para siempre. | 6 so bringe ihn sein Herr vor Gott und stelle ihn an die Tür oder den Pfosten und durchbohre mit einem Pfriemen sein Ohr, und er sei sein Sklave für immer. |

And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do.
| 7 Y cuando alguno vendiere su hija por sierva, no saldrá ella como suelen salir los siervos. | 7 Verkauft jemand seine Tochter als Sklavin, so darf sie nicht freigelassen werden wie die Sklaven. |

If she please not her master, who hath betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her.
| 8 Si no agradare a su señor, por lo cual no la tomó por esposa, se le permitirá que se rescate, y no la podrá vender a pueblo extraño cuando la desechare. | 8 Hat ihr Herr sie für sich genommen und sie gefällt ihm nicht, so soll er sie auslösen lassen. Er hat aber nicht Macht, sie unter ein fremdes Volk zu verkaufen, nachdem er sie verschmäht hat. |

And if he have betrothed her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters.
| 9 Mas si la hubiere desposado con su hijo, hará con ella según la costumbre de las hijas. | 9 Hat er sie aber für seinen Sohn bestimmt, so soll er nach dem Recht der Töchter an ihr tun. |

If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish.
| 10 Si tomare para él otra mujer, no disminuirá su alimento, ni su vestido, ni el deber conyugal. | 10 Nimmt er sich aber noch eine andere, so soll er der ersten an Nahrung, Kleidung und ehelichem Recht nichts abbrechen. |

And if he do not these three unto her, then shall she go out free without money.
| 11 Y si ninguna de estas tres cosas hiciere, ella saldrá de gracia, sin dinero. | 11 Erfüllt er an ihr diese drei Pflichten nicht, so soll sie umsonst freigelassen werden, ohne Lösegeld. |

He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death.
| 12 El que hiriere a alguno, haciéndole así morir, él morirá. | 12 Wer einen Menschen schlägt, daß er stirbt, der soll des Todes sterben. |

And if a man lie not in wait, but God deliver him into his hand; then I will appoint thee a place whither he shall flee.
| 13 Mas el que no pretendía herirlo, sino que Dios lo puso en sus manos, entonces yo te señalaré lugar al cual ha de huir. | 13 Hat er ihm aber nicht nachgestellt, sondern hat Gott es seiner Hand widerfahren lassen, so will ich dir einen Ort bestimmen, wohin er fliehen kann. |

But if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbour, to slay him with guile; thou shalt take him from mine altar, that he may die.
| 14 Pero si alguno se ensoberbeciere contra su prójimo y lo matare con alevosía, de mi altar lo quitarás para que muera. | 14 Wenn aber jemand an seinem Nächsten frevelt und ihn mit Hinterlist umbringt, so sollst du ihn von meinem Altar wegreißen, daß man ihn töte. |

And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.
| 15 El que hiriere a su padre o a su madre, morirá. | 15 Wer Vater oder Mutter schlägt, der soll des Todes sterben. |

And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.
| 16 Asimismo el que robare una persona y la vendiere, o si fuere hallada en sus manos, morirá. | 16 Wer einen Menschen raubt, sei es, daß er ihn verkauft, sei es, daß man ihn bei ihm findet, der soll des Todes sterben. |

And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death.
| 17 Igualmente el que maldijere a su padre o a su madre, morirá. | 17 Wer Vater oder Mutter flucht, der soll des Todes sterben. |

And if men strive together, and one smite another with a stone, or with his fist, and he die not, but keepeth his bed:
| 18 Además, si algunos riñeren, y uno hiriere a su prójimo con piedra o con el puño, y éste no muriere, pero cayere en cama; | 18 Wenn Männer miteinander streiten und einer schlägt den andern mit einem Stein oder mit der Faust, daß er nicht stirbt, sondern zu Bett liegen muß |

If he rise again, and walk abroad upon his staff, then shall he that smote him be quit: only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall cause him to be thoroughly healed.
| 19 si se levantare y anduviere fuera sobre su báculo, entonces será absuelto el que lo hirió; solamente le satisfará por lo que estuvo sin trabajar, y hará que le curen. | 19 und wieder aufkommt und ausgehen kann an seinem Stock, so soll der, der ihn schlug, nicht bestraft werden; er soll ihm aber bezahlen, was er versäumt hat, und das Arztgeld geben. |

And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished.
| 20 Y si alguno hiriere a su siervo o a su sierva con palo, y muriere bajo su mano, será castigado; | 20 Wer seinen Sklaven oder seine Sklavin schlägt mit einem Stock, daß sie unter seinen Händen sterben, der soll dafür bestraft werden. |

Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money.
| 21 mas si sobreviviere por un día o dos, no será castigado, porque es de su propiedad. | 21 Bleiben sie aber einen oder zwei Tage am Leben, so soll er nicht dafür bestraft werden; denn es ist sein Geld. |

If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.
| 22 Si algunos riñeren, e hirieren a mujer embarazada, y ésta abortare, pero sin haber muerte, serán penados conforme a lo que les impusiere el marido de la mujer y juzgaren los jueces. | 22 Wenn Männer miteinander streiten und stoßen dabei eine schwangere Frau, so daß ihr die Frucht abgeht, ihr aber sonst kein Schaden widerfährt, so soll man ihn um Geld strafen, wieviel ihr Ehemann ihm auferlegt, und er soll's geben durch die Hand der Richter. |

And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life,
| 23 Mas si hubiere muerte, entonces pagarás vida por vida, | 23 Entsteht ein dauernder Schaden, so sollst du geben Leben um Leben, |

Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
| 24 ojo por ojo, diente por diente, mano por mano, pie por pie, | 24 Auge um Auge, Zahn um Zahn, Hand um Hand, Fuß um Fuß, |

Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.
| 25 quemadura por quemadura, herida por herida, golpe por golpe. | 25 Brandmal um Brandmal, Beule um Beule, Wunde um Wunde. |

And if a man smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, that it perish; he shall let him go free for his eye's sake.
| 26 Si alguno hiriere el ojo de su siervo, o el ojo de su sierva, y lo dañare, le dará libertad por razón de su ojo. | 26 Wenn jemand seinen Sklaven oder seine Sklavin ins Auge schlägt und zerstört es, der soll sie freilassen um des Auges willen. |

And if he smite out his manservant's tooth, or his maidservant's tooth; he shall let him go free for his tooth's sake.
| 27 Y si hiciere saltar un diente de su siervo, o un diente de su sierva, por su diente le dejará ir libre. | 27 Desgleichen, wenn er seinem Sklaven oder seiner Sklavin einen Zahn ausschlägt, soll er sie freilassen um des Zahnes willen. |

If an ox gore a man or a woman, that they die: then the ox shall be surely stoned, and his flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox shall be quit.
| 28 Si un buey acorneare a hombre o a mujer, y a causa de ello muriere, el buey será apedreado, y no será comida su carne; mas el dueño del buey será absuelto. | 28 Wenn ein Rind einen Mann oder eine Frau stößt, daß sie sterben, so soll man das Rind steinigen und sein Fleisch nicht essen; aber der Besitzer des Rindes soll nicht bestraft werden. |

But if the ox were wont to push with his horn in time past, and it hath been testified to his owner, and he hath not kept him in, but that he hath killed a man or a woman; the ox shall be stoned, and his owner also shall be put to death.
| 29 Pero si el buey fuere acorneador desde tiempo atrás, y a su dueño se le hubiere notificado, y no lo hubiere guardado, y matare a hombre o mujer, el buey será apedreado, y también morirá su dueño. | 29 Ist aber das Rind zuvor stößig gewesen und seinem Besitzer war's bekannt und er hat das Rind nicht verwahrt und es tötet nun einen Mann oder eine Frau, so soll man das Rind steinigen, und sein Besitzer soll sterben. |

If there be laid on him a sum of money, then he shall give for the ransom of his life whatsoever is laid upon him.
| 30 Si le fuere impuesto precio de rescate, entonces dará por el rescate de su persona cuanto le fuere impuesto. | 30 Will man ihm aber ein Lösegeld auferlegen, so soll er geben, was man ihm auferlegt, um sein Leben auszulösen. |

Whether he have gored a son, or have gored a daughter, according to this judgment shall it be done unto him.
| 31 Haya acorneado a hijo, o haya acorneado a hija, conforme a este juicio se hará con él. | 31 Ebenso soll man mit ihm verfahren, wenn das Rind einen Sohn oder eine Tochter stößt. |

If the ox shall push a manservant or a maidservant; he shall give unto their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned.
| 32 Si el buey acorneare a un siervo o a una sierva, pagará su dueño treinta siclos de plata, y el buey será apedreado. | 32 Stößt es aber einen Sklaven oder eine Sklavin, so soll der Besitzer ihrem Herrn dreißig Lot Silber geben, und das Rind soll man steinigen. |

And if a man shall open a pit, or if a man shall dig a pit, and not cover it, and an ox or an ass fall therein;
| 33 Y si alguno abriere un pozo, o cavare cisterna, y no la cubriere, y cayere allí buey o asno, | 33 Wenn jemand eine Zisterne aufdeckt oder gräbt eine Zisterne und deckt sie nicht zu und es fällt ein Rind oder Esel hinein, |

The owner of the pit shall make it good, and give money unto the owner of them; and the dead beast shall be his.
| 34 el dueño de la cisterna pagará el daño, resarciendo a su dueño, y lo que fue muerto será suyo. | 34 so soll der Besitzer der Zisterne mit Geld dem andern Ersatz leisten, das tote Tier aber soll ihm gehören. |

And if one man's ox hurt another's, that he die; then they shall sell the live ox, and divide the money of it; and the dead ox also they shall divide.
| 35 Y si el buey de alguno hiriere al buey de su prójimo de modo que muriere, entonces venderán el buey vivo y partirán el dinero de él, y también partirán el buey muerto. | 35 Wenn jemandes Rind eines andern Rind stößt, daß es stirbt, so sollen sie das lebendige Rind verkaufen und das Geld teilen und das tote Tier auch teilen. |

Or if it be known that the ox hath used to push in time past, and his owner hath not kept him in; he shall surely pay ox for ox; and the dead shall be his own. | 36 Mas si era notorio que el buey era acorneador desde tiempo atrás, y su dueño no lo hubiere guardado, pagará buey por buey, y el buey muerto será suyo. | 36 Ist's aber bekannt gewesen, daß das Rind zuvor stößig gewesen ist, und sein Besitzer hat es nicht verwahrt, so soll er ein Rind für das andere erstatten und das tote Tier haben. |
