Now in the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar, on the thirteenth day of the same, when the king's commandment and his decree drew near to be put in execution, in the day that the enemies of the Jews hoped to have power over them, (though it was turned to the contrary, that the Jews had rule over them that hated them;)

The Jews gathered themselves together in their cities throughout all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus, to lay hand on such as sought their hurt: and no man could withstand them; for the fear of them fell upon all people.
| 2 Los judíos se reunieron en sus ciudades, en todas las provincias del rey Asuero, para descargar su mano sobre los que habían procurado su mal, y nadie los pudo resistir, porque el temor de ellos había caído sobre todos los pueblos. | 2 da versammelten sich die Juden in ihren Städten in allen Ländern des Königs Ahasveros, um Hand anzulegen an die, die ihnen übelwollten. Und niemand konnte ihnen widerstehen; denn die Furcht vor ihnen war über alle Völker gekommen. |

And all the rulers of the provinces, and the lieutenants, and the deputies, and officers of the king, helped the Jews; because the fear of Mordecai fell upon them.
| 3 Y todos los príncipes de las provincias, los sátrapas, capitanes y oficiales del rey, apoyaban a los judíos; porque el temor de Mardoqueo había caído sobre ellos. | 3 Auch alle Obersten in den Ländern und die Fürsten und Statthalter und Amtleute des Königs halfen den Juden; denn die Furcht vor Mordechai war über sie gekommen. |

For Mordecai was great in the king's house, and his fame went out throughout all the provinces: for this man Mordecai waxed greater and greater.

Thus the Jews smote all their enemies with the stroke of the sword, and slaughter, and destruction, and did what they would unto those that hated them.

And in Shushan the palace the Jews slew and destroyed five hundred men.

The ten sons of Haman the son of Hammedatha, the enemy of the Jews, slew they; but on the spoil laid they not their hand.
| 10 diez hijos de Amán hijo de Hamedata, enemigo de los judíos; pero no tocaron sus bienes. | 10 die zehn Söhne Hamans, des Sohnes Hammedatas, des Judenfeindes. Aber an die Güter legten sie ihre Hände nicht. |

On that day the number of those that were slain in Shushan the palace was brought before the king.
| 11 El mismo día se le dio cuenta al rey acerca del número de los muertos en Susa, residencia real. | 11 Zu derselben Zeit kam die Zahl der Getöteten in der Festung Susa vor den König. |

And the king said unto Esther the queen, The Jews have slain and destroyed five hundred men in Shushan the palace, and the ten sons of Haman; what have they done in the rest of the king's provinces? now what is thy petition? and it shall be granted thee: or what is thy request further? and it shall be done.
| 12 Y dijo el rey a la reina Ester: En Susa capital del reino los judíos han matado a quinientos hombres, y a diez hijos de Amán. ¿Qué habrán hecho en las otras provincias del rey? ¿Cuál, pues, es tu petición? y te será concedida; ¿o qué más es tu demanda? y será hecha. | 12 Und der König sprach zu der Königin Ester: Die Juden haben in der Festung Susa fünfhundert Mann getötet und umgebracht, auch die zehn Söhne Hamans; was werden sie getan haben in den andern Ländern des Königs? Was bittest du, daß man dir's gebe? Und was begehrst du mehr, daß man's tue? |

Then said Esther, If it please the king, let it be granted to the Jews which are in Shushan to do to morrow also according unto this day's decree, and let Haman's ten sons be hanged upon the gallows.
| 13 Y respondió Ester: Si place al rey, concédase también mañana a los judíos en Susa, que hagan conforme a la ley de hoy; y que cuelguen en la horca a los diez hijos de Amán. | 13 Ester sprach: Gefällt's dem König, so lasse er auch morgen die Juden in Susa tun nach dem Gesetz für den heutigen Tag, aber die zehn Söhne Hamans soll man an den Galgen hängen. |

And the king commanded it so to be done: and the decree was given at Shushan; and they hanged Haman's ten sons.
| 14 Y mandó el rey que se hiciese así. Se dio la orden en Susa, y colgaron a los diez hijos de Amán. | 14 Und der König befahl, so zu tun. Und das Gesetz wurde zu Susa gegeben, und die zehn Söhne Hamans wurden gehängt. |

For the Jews that were in Shushan gathered themselves together on the fourteenth day also of the month Adar, and slew three hundred men at Shushan; but on the prey they laid not their hand.
| 15 Y los judíos que estaban en Susa se juntaron también el catorce del mes de Adar, y mataron en Susa a trescientos hombres; pero no tocaron sus bienes. | 15 Und die Juden in Susa versammelten sich auch am vierzehnten Tage des Monats Adar und töteten in Susa dreihundert Mann; aber an ihre Güter legten sie die Hände nicht. |

But the other Jews that were in the king's provinces gathered themselves together, and stood for their lives, and had rest from their enemies, and slew of their foes seventy and five thousand, but they laid not their hands on the prey,
| 16 En cuanto a los otros judíos que estaban en las provincias del rey, también se juntaron y se pusieron en defensa de su vida, y descansaron de sus enemigos, y mataron de sus contrarios a setenta y cinco mil; pero no tocaron sus bienes. | 16 Auch die andern Juden in den Ländern des Königs kamen zusammen, um ihr Leben zu verteidigen und sich vor ihren Feinden Ruhe zu verschaffen, und töteten fünfundsiebzigtausend von ihren Feinden; aber an die Güter legten sie die Hände nicht. |

On the thirteenth day of the month Adar; and on the fourteenth day of the same rested they, and made it a day of feasting and gladness.

But the Jews that were at Shushan assembled together on the thirteenth day thereof, and on the fourteenth thereof; and on the fifteenth day of the same they rested, and made it a day of feasting and gladness.
| 18 Pero los judíos que estaban en Susa se juntaron el día trece y el catorce del mismo mes, y el quince del mismo reposaron y lo hicieron día de banquete y de regocijo. | 18 Aber die Juden in Susa waren zusammengekommen am dreizehnten und vierzehnten Tage und ruhten am fünfzehnten Tage, und diesen Tag machten sie zum Tage des Festmahls und der Freude. |

Therefore the Jews of the villages, that dwelt in the unwalled towns, made the fourteenth day of the month Adar a day of gladness and feasting, and a good day, and of sending portions one to another.
| 19 Por tanto, los judíos aldeanos que habitan en las villas sin muro hacen a los catorce del mes de Adar el día de alegría y de banquete, un día de regocijo, y para enviar porciones cada uno a su vecino. | 19 Darum machen die Juden, die in den Dörfern und Höfen wohnen, den vierzehnten Tag des Monats Adar zum Tag des Festmahls und der Freude und senden einer dem andern Geschenke. |

And Mordecai wrote these things, and sent letters unto all the Jews that were in all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus, both nigh and far,

To stablish this among them, that they should keep the fourteenth day of the month Adar, and the fifteenth day of the same, yearly,

As the days wherein the Jews rested from their enemies, and the month which was turned unto them from sorrow to joy, and from mourning into a good day: that they should make them days of feasting and joy, and of sending portions one to another, and gifts to the poor.
| 22 como días en que los judíos tuvieron paz de sus enemigos, y como el mes que de tristeza se les cambió en alegría, y de luto en día bueno; que los hiciesen días de banquete y de gozo, y para enviar porciones cada uno a su vecino, y dádivas a los pobres. | 22 als die Tage, an denen die Juden zur Ruhe gekommen waren vor ihren Feinden, und als den Monat, in dem sich ihre Schmerzen in Freude und ihr Leid in Festtage verwandelt hatten: daß sie diese halten sollten als Tage des Festmahls und der Freude und einer dem andern Geschenke und den Armen Gaben schicke. |

And the Jews undertook to do as they had begun, and as Mordecai had written unto them;

Because Haman the son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, the enemy of all the Jews, had devised against the Jews to destroy them, and had cast Pur, that is, the lot, to consume them, and to destroy them;
| 24 Porque Amán hijo de Hamedata agagueo, enemigo de todos los judíos, había ideado contra los judíos un plan para destruirlos, y había echado Pur, que quiere decir suerte, para consumirlos y acabar con ellos. | 24 wie Haman, der Sohn Hammedatas, der Agagiter, der Feind aller Juden, gedacht hatte, alle Juden umzubringen, und wie er das Pur, das ist das Los, hatte werfen lassen, um sie zu schrecken und umzubringen; |

But when Esther came before the king, he commanded by letters that his wicked device, which he devised against the Jews, should return upon his own head, and that he and his sons should be hanged on the gallows.
| 25 Mas cuando Ester vino a la presencia del rey, él ordenó por carta que el perverso designio que aquél trazó contra los judíos recayera sobre su cabeza; y que colgaran a él y a sus hijos en la horca. | 25 und wie Ester zum König gegangen war und dieser durch Schreiben geboten hatte, daß die bösen Anschläge, die Haman gegen die Juden erdacht, auf seinen Kopf zurückfielen, und wie man ihn und seine Söhne an den Galgen gehängt hatte. |

Wherefore they called these days Purim after the name of Pur. Therefore for all the words of this letter, and of that which they had seen concerning this matter, and which had come unto them,
| 26 Por esto llamaron a estos días Purim, por el nombre Pur. Y debido a las palabras de esta carta, y por lo que ellos vieron sobre esto, y lo que llevó a su conocimiento, | 26 Daher nannten sie diese Tage Purim nach dem Worte Pur. The Jews ordained, and took upon them, and upon their seed, and upon all such as joined themselves unto them, so as it should not fail, that they would keep these two days according to their writing, and according to their appointed time every year;
| 27 los judíos establecieron y tomaron sobre sí, sobre su descendencia y sobre todos los allegados a ellos, que no dejarían de celebrar estos dos días según está escrito tocante a ellos, conforme a su tiempo cada año; | 27 beschlossen die Juden und nahmen es an als Brauch für sich und für ihre Nachkommen und für alle, die sich zu ihnen halten würden, daß sie nicht unterlassen wollten, diese zwei Tage jährlich zu halten, wie sie vorgeschrieben und bestimmt waren, |

And that these days should be remembered and kept throughout every generation, every family, every province, and every city; and that these days of Purim should not fail from among the Jews, nor the memorial of them perish from their seed.
| 28 y que estos días serían recordados y celebrados por todas las generaciones, familias, provincias y ciudades; que estos días de Purim no dejarían de ser guardados por los judíos, y que su descendencia jamás dejaría de recordarlos. | 28 daß diese Tage nicht zu vergessen, sondern zu halten seien bei Kindeskindern, bei allen Geschlechtern, in allen Ländern und Städten. Then Esther the queen, the daughter of Abihail, and Mordecai the Jew, wrote with all authority, to confirm this second letter of Purim.
| 29 Y la reina Ester hija de Abihail, y Mardoqueo el judío, suscribieron con plena autoridad esta segunda carta referente a Purim. | 29 Und die Königin Ester, die Tochter Abihails, und Mordechai, der Jude, schrieben mit ganzem Ernst ein zweites Schreiben über das Purimfest, um es zu bestätigen. |

And he sent the letters unto all the Jews, to the hundred twenty and seven provinces of the kingdom of Ahasuerus, with words of peace and truth,

To confirm these days of Purim in their times appointed, according as Mordecai the Jew and Esther the queen had enjoined them, and as they had decreed for themselves and for their seed, the matters of the fastings and their cry.
| 31 para confirmar estos días de Purim en sus tiempos señalados, según les había ordenado Mardoqueo el judío y la reina Ester, y según ellos habían tomado sobre sí y sobre su descendencia, para conmemorar el fin de los ayunos y de su clamor. | 31 daß sie annähmen die Purimtage auf ihre bestimmte Zeit, wie sie Mordechai, der Jude, und die Königin Ester für sie festgesetzt hatten, und wie sie für sich selbst und für ihre Nachkommen die Einsetzung der Fasten und ihrer Klage festgesetzt hatten. |

And the decree of Esther confirmed these matters of Purim; and it was written in the book. | 32 Y el mandamiento de Ester confirmó estas celebraciones acerca de Purim, y esto fue registrado en un libro. | 32 Und der Befehl der Ester bestätigte die Einsetzung dieser Purimtage.
