On that day did the king Ahasuerus give the house of Haman the Jews' enemy unto Esther the queen. And Mordecai came before the king; for Esther had told what he was unto her.
| 1 El mismo día, el rey Asuero dio a la reina Ester la casa de Amán enemigo de los judíos; y Mardoqueo vino delante del rey, porque Ester le declaró lo que él era respecto de ella. | 1 An dem Tage schenkte der König Ahasveros der Königin Ester das Haus Hamans, des Judenfeindes. Und Mordechai wurde vom König empfangen; denn Ester hatte ihm gesagt, wie er mit ihr verwandt sei. |

And the king took off his ring, which he had taken from Haman, and gave it unto Mordecai. And Esther set Mordecai over the house of Haman.
| 2 Y se quitó el rey el anillo que recogió de Amán, y lo dio a Mardoqueo. Y Ester puso a Mardoqueo sobre la casa de Amán. | 2 Und der König tat ab seinen Fingerreif, den er Haman genommen hatte, und gab ihn Mordechai. Und Ester setzte Mordechai über das Haus Hamans. |

And Esther spake yet again before the king, and fell down at his feet, and besought him with tears to put away the mischief of Haman the Agagite, and his device that he had devised against the Jews.
| 3 Volvió luego Ester a hablar delante del rey, y se echó a sus pies, llorando y rogándole que hiciese nula la maldad de Amán agagueo y su designio que había tramado contra los judíos. | 3 Und Ester redete noch einmal vor dem König und fiel ihm zu Füßen und weinte und flehte ihn an, daß er zunichte mache die Bosheit Hamans, des Agagiters, und seine Anschläge, die er gegen die Juden erdacht hatte. |

Then the king held out the golden sceptre toward Esther. So Esther arose, and stood before the king,

And said, If it please the king, and if I have found favour in his sight, and the thing seem right before the king, and I be pleasing in his eyes, let it be written to reverse the letters devised by Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to destroy the Jews which are in all the king's provinces:
| 5 y dijo: Si place al rey, y si he hallado gracia delante de él, y si le parece acertado al rey, y yo soy agradable a sus ojos, que se dé orden escrita para revocar las cartas que autorizan la trama de Amán hijo de Hamedata agagueo, que escribió para destruir a los judíos que están en todas las provincias del rey. | 5 und sprach: Gefällt es dem König, und habe ich Gnade gefunden vor ihm, und dünkt es den König recht, und gefalle ich ihm, so möge man die Schreiben mit den Anschlägen Hamans, des Sohnes Hammedatas, des Agagiters, widerrufen, die er geschrieben hat, um die Juden umzubringen in allen Ländern des Königs. |

For how can I endure to see the evil that shall come unto my people? or how can I endure to see the destruction of my kindred?
| 6 Porque żcómo podré yo ver el mal que alcanzará a mi pueblo? żCómo podré yo ver la destrucción de mi nación? | 6 Denn wie kann ich dem Unheil zusehen, das mein Volk treffen würde? Und wie kann ich zusehen, daß mein Geschlecht umkäme? |

Then the king Ahasuerus said unto Esther the queen and to Mordecai the Jew, Behold, I have given Esther the house of Haman, and him they have hanged upon the gallows, because he laid his hand upon the Jews.
| 7 Respondió el rey Asuero a la reina Ester y a Mardoqueo el judío: He aquí yo he dado a Ester la casa de Amán, y a él han colgado en la horca, por cuanto extendió su mano contra los judíos. | 7 Da sprach der König Ahasveros zur Königin Ester und zu Mordechai, dem Juden: Siehe, ich habe Ester das Haus Hamans geschenkt, und ihn hat man an einen Galgen gehängt, weil er seine Hand an die Juden gelegt hat. |

Write ye also for the Jews, as it liketh you, in the king's name, and seal it with the king's ring: for the writing which is written in the king's name, and sealed with the king's ring, may no man reverse.
| 8 Escribid, pues, vosotros a los judíos como bien os pareciere, en nombre del rey, y selladlo con el anillo del rey; porque un edicto que se escribe en nombre del rey, y se sella con el anillo del rey, no puede ser revocado. | 8 So schreibt nun ihr wegen der Juden, wie es euch gefällt, in des Königs Namen und siegelt's mit des Königs Ring. Denn ein Schreiben, das in des Königs Namen geschrieben und mit des Königs Ring gesiegelt war, durfte niemand widerrufen. |

Then were the king's scribes called at that time in the third month, that is, the month Sivan, on the three and twentieth day thereof; and it was written according to all that Mordecai commanded unto the Jews, and to the lieutenants, and the deputies and rulers of the provinces which are from India unto Ethiopia, an hundred twenty and seven provinces, unto every province according to the writing thereof, and unto every people after their language, and to the Jews according to their writing, and according to their language.
| 9 Entonces fueron llamados los escribanos del rey en el mes tercero, que es Siván, a los veintitrés días de ese mes; y se escribió conforme a todo lo que mandó Mardoqueo, a los judíos, y a los sátrapas, los capitanes y los príncipes de las provincias que había desde la India hasta Etiopía, ciento veintisiete provincias; a cada provincia según su escritura, y a cada pueblo conforme a su lengua, a los judíos también conforme a su escritura y lengua. | 9 Da wurden gerufen des Königs Schreiber zu jener Zeit im dritten Monat, das ist der Monat Siwan, am dreiundzwanzigsten Tage, und es wurde geschrieben, wie Mordechai gebot, an die Juden und an die Fürsten, Statthalter und Obersten in den Ländern vom Indus bis zum Nil, hundertundsiebenundzwanzig Ländern, einem jeden Lande in seiner Schrift, einem jeden Volk in seiner Sprache und auch den Juden in ihrer Schrift und Sprache. |

And he wrote in the king Ahasuerus' name, and sealed it with the king's ring, and sent letters by posts on horseback, and riders on mules, camels, and young dromedaries:
| 10 Y escribió en nombre del rey Asuero, y lo selló con el anillo del rey, y envió cartas por medio de correos montados en caballos veloces procedentes de los repastos reales; | 10 Und es wurde geschrieben in des Königs Ahasveros Namen und mit des Königs Ring gesiegelt. Und man sandte die Schreiben durch reitende Boten auf den besten Pferden. |

Wherein the king granted the Jews which were in every city to gather themselves together, and to stand for their life, to destroy, to slay, and to cause to perish, all the power of the people and province that would assault them, both little ones and women, and to take the spoil of them for a prey,
| 11 que el rey daba facultad a los judíos que estaban en todas las ciudades, para que se reuniesen y estuviesen a la defensa de su vida, prontos a destruir, y matar, y acabar con toda fuerza armada del pueblo o provincia que viniese contra ellos, y aun sus nińos y mujeres, y apoderarse de sus bienes, | 11 Darin gab der König den Juden, in welchen Städten sie auch waren, die Erlaubnis, sich zu versammeln und ihr Leben zu verteidigen und alle Macht des Volks und Landes, die sie angreifen würden, zu vertilgen, zu töten und umzubringen samt den Kindern und Frauen und ihr Hab und Gut zu plünderna |

Upon one day in all the provinces of king Ahasuerus, namely, upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar.
| 12 en un mismo día en todas las provincias del rey Asuero, en el día trece del mes duodécimo, que es el mes de Adar. | 12 an einem Tag in allen Ländern des Königs Ahasveros, nämlich am dreizehnten Tage des zwölften Monats, das ist der Monat Adar. |

The copy of the writing for a commandment to be given in every province was published unto all people, and that the Jews should be ready against that day to avenge themselves on their enemies.
| 13 La copia del edicto que había de darse por decreto en cada provincia, para que fuese conocido por todos los pueblos, decía que los judíos estuviesen preparados para aquel día, para vengarse de sus enemigos. | 13 Eine Abschrift des Schreibens aber sollte als Gesetz erlassen werden in allen Ländern, um allen Völkern zu eröffnen, daß die Juden sich für diesen Tag bereithalten würden, sich zu rächen an ihren Feinden. |

So the posts that rode upon mules and camels went out, being hastened and pressed on by the king's commandment. And the decree was given at Shushan the palace.
| 14 Los correos, pues, montados en caballos veloces, salieron a toda prisa por la orden del rey; y el edicto fue dado en Susa capital del reino. | 14 Und die reitenden Boten auf den besten Pferden ritten aus schnell und eilends nach dem Wort des Königs, und das Gesetz wurde in der Festung Susa angeschlagen. |

And Mordecai went out from the presence of the king in royal apparel of blue and white, and with a great crown of gold, and with a garment of fine linen and purple: and the city of Shushan rejoiced and was glad.
| 15 Y salió Mardoqueo de delante del rey con vestido real de azul y blanco, y una gran corona de oro, y un manto de lino y púrpura. La ciudad de Susa entonces se alegró y regocijó; | 15 Mordechai aber ging hinaus von dem König in königlichen Kleidern, blau und weiß, und mit einer großen goldenen Krone, angetan mit einem Mantel aus Leinen und Purpurwolle. Und die Stadt Susa jauchzte und war fröhlich. |

The Jews had light, and gladness, and joy, and honour.
| 16 y los judíos tuvieron luz y alegría, y gozo y honra. | 16 Für die Juden aber war Licht und Freude und Wonne und Ehre gekommen. |

And in every province, and in every city, whithersoever the king's commandment and his decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a good day. And many of the people of the land became Jews; for the fear of the Jews fell upon them. | 17 Y en cada provincia y en cada ciudad donde llegó el mandamiento del rey, los judíos tuvieron alegría y gozo, banquete y día de placer. Y muchos de entre los pueblos de la tierra se hacían judíos, porque el temor de los judíos había caído sobre ellos. | 17 Und in allen Ländern und Städten, an welchen Ort auch immer des Königs Wort und Gesetz gelangte, da war Freude und Wonne unter den Juden, Gastmahl und Festtag; und viele aus den Völkern im Lande wurden Juden; denn die Furcht vor den Juden war über sie gekommen. |
