In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters.

Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.

And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.
| 3 Y cuatro bestias grandes, diferentes la una de la otra, subían del mar. | 3 Und vier große Tiere stiegen herauf aus dem Meer, ein jedes anders als das andere. |

The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it.
| 4 La primera era como león, y tenía alas de águila. Yo estaba mirando hasta que sus alas fueron arrancadas, y fue levantada del suelo y se puso enhiesta sobre los pies a manera de hombre, y le fue dado corazón de hombre. | 4 Das erste war wie ein Löwe und hatte Flügel wie ein Adler. Ich sah, wie ihm die Flügel genommen wurden. Und es wurde von der Erde aufgehoben und auf zwei Füße gestellt wie ein Mensch, und es wurde ihm ein menschliches Herz gegeben. |

And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.
| 5 Y he aquí otra segunda bestia, semejante a un oso, la cual se alzaba de un costado más que del otro, y tenía en su boca tres costillas entre los dientes; y le fue dicho así: Levántate, devora mucha carne. | 5 Und siehe, ein anderes Tier, das zweite, war gleich einem Bären und war auf der einen Seite aufgerichtet und hatte in seinem Maul zwischen seinen Zähnen drei Rippen. Und man sprach zu ihm: Steh auf und friß viel Fleisch! |

After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.
| 6 Después de esto miré, y he aquí otra, semejante a un leopardo, con cuatro alas de ave en sus espaldas; tenía también esta bestia cuatro cabezas; y le fue dado dominio. | 6 Danach sah ich, und siehe, ein anderes Tier, gleich einem Panther, das hatte vier Flügel wie ein Vogel auf seinem Rücken, und das Tier hatte vier Köpfe, und ihm wurde große Macht gegeben. |

After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.
| 7 Después de esto miraba yo en las visiones de la noche, y he aquí la cuarta bestia, espantosa y terrible y en gran manera fuerte, la cual tenía unos dientes grandes de hierro; devoraba y desmenuzaba, y las sobras hollaba con sus pies, y era muy diferente de todas las bestias que vi antes de ella, y tenía diez cuernos. | 7 Danach sah ich in diesem Gesicht in der Nacht, und siehe, ein viertes Tier war furchtbar und schrecklich und sehr stark und hatte große eiserne Zähne, fraß um sich und zermalmte, und was übrigblieb, zertrat es mit seinen Füßen. Es war auch ganz anders als die vorigen Tiere und hatte zehn Hörner. |

I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
| 8 Mientras yo contemplaba los cuernos, he aquí que otro cuerno pequeño salía entre ellos, y delante de él fueron arrancados tres cuernos de los primeros; y he aquí que este cuerno tenía ojos como de hombre, y una boca que hablaba grandes cosas. | 8 Als ich aber auf die Hörner achtgab, siehe, da brach ein anderes kleines Horn zwischen ihnen hervor, vor dem drei der vorigen Hörner ausgerissen wurden. Und siehe, das Horn hatte Augen wie Menschenaugen und ein Maul; das redete große Dinge. |

I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.
| 9 Estuve mirando hasta que fueron puestos tronos, y se sentó un Anciano de días, cuyo vestido era blanco como la nieve, y el pelo de su cabeza como lana limpia; su trono llama de fuego, y las ruedas del mismo, fuego ardiente. | 9 Ich sah, wie Throne aufgestellt wurden, und einer, der uralt war, setzte sich. Sein Kleid war weiß wie Schnee und das Haar auf seinem Haupt rein wie Wolle; Feuerflammen waren sein Thron und dessen Räder loderndes Feuer. |

A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.
| 10 Un río de fuego procedía y salía de delante de él; millares de millares le servían, y millones de millones asistían delante de él; el Juez se sentó, y los libros fueron abiertos. | 10 Und von ihm ging aus ein langer feuriger Strahl. Tausendmal Tausende dienten ihm, und zehntausendmal Zehntausende standen vor ihm. Das Gericht wurde gehalten, und die Bücher wurden aufgetan. |

I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.
| 11 Yo entonces miraba a causa del sonido de las grandes palabras que hablaba el cuerno; miraba hasta que mataron a la bestia, y su cuerpo fue destrozado y entregado para ser quemado en el fuego. | 11 Ich merkte auf um der großen Reden willen, die das Horn redete, und ich sah, wie das Tier getötet wurde und sein Leib umkam und ins Feuer geworfen wurde. |

As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.
| 12 Habían también quitado a las otras bestias su dominio, pero les había sido prolongada la vida hasta cierto tiempo. | 12 Und mit der Macht der andern Tiere war es auch aus; denn es war ihnen Zeit und Stunde bestimmt, wie lang ein jedes leben sollte. |

I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
| 13 Miraba yo en la visión de la noche, y he aquí con las nubes del cielo venía uno como un hijo de hombre, que vino hasta el Anciano de días, y le hicieron acercarse delante de él. | 13 Ich sah in diesem Gesicht in der Nacht, und siehe, es kam einer mit den Wolken des Himmels wie eines Menschen Sohn und gelangte zu dem, der uralt war, und wurde vor ihn gebracht. |

And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
| 14 Y le fue dado dominio, gloria y reino, para que todos los pueblos, naciones y lenguas le sirvieran; su dominio es dominio eterno, que nunca pasará, y su reino uno que no será destruido. | 14 Der gab ihm Macht, Ehre und Reich, daß ihm alle Völker und Leute aus so vielen verschiedenen Sprachen dienen sollten. Seine Macht ist ewig und vergeht nicht, und sein Reich hat kein Ende. |

I Daniel was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me.
| 15 Se me turbó el espíritu a mí, Daniel, en medio de mi cuerpo, y las visiones de mi cabeza me asombraron. | 15 Ich, Daniel, war entsetzt, und dies Gesicht erschreckte mich. |

I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things.
| 16 Me acerqué a uno de los que asistían, y le pregunté la verdad acerca de todo esto. Y me habló, y me hizo conocer la interpretación de las cosas. | 16 Und ich ging zu einem von denen, die dastanden, und bat ihn, daß er mir über das alles Genaueres berichtete. Und er redete mit mir und sagte mir, was es bedeutete. |

These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.
| 17 Estas cuatro grandes bestias son cuatro reyes que se levantarán en la tierra. | 17 Diese vier großen Tiere sind vier Königreiche, die auf Erden kommen werden. |

But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.
| 18 Después recibirán el reino los santos del Altísimo, y poseerán el reino hasta el siglo, eternamente y para siempre. | 18 Aber die Heiligen des Höchsten werden das Reich empfangen und werden's immer und ewig besitzen. |

Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;
| 19 Entonces tuve deseo de saber la verdad acerca de la cuarta bestia, que era tan diferente de todas las otras, espantosa en gran manera, que tenía dientes de hierro y uñas de bronce, que devoraba y desmenuzaba, y las sobras hollaba con sus pies; | 19 Danach hätte ich gerne Genaueres gewußt über das vierte Tier, das ganz anders war als alle andern, ganz furchtbar, mit eisernen Zähnen und ehernen Klauen, das um sich fraß und zermalmte und mit seinen Füßen zertrat, was übrigblieb; |

And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.
| 20 asimismo acerca de los diez cuernos que tenía en su cabeza, y del otro que le había salido, delante del cual habían caído tres; y este mismo cuerno tenía ojos, y boca que hablaba grandes cosas, y parecía más grande que sus compañeros. | 20 und über die zehn Hörner auf seinem Haupt und über das andere Horn, das hervorbrach, vor dem drei ausfielen; und es hatte Augen und ein Maul, das große Dinge redete, und war größer als die Hörner, die neben ihm waren. |

I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;
| 21 Y veía yo que este cuerno hacía guerra contra los santos, y los vencía, | 21 Und ich sah das Horn kämpfen gegen die Heiligen, und es behielt den Sieg über sie, |

Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.
| 22 hasta que vino el Anciano de días, y se dio el juicio a los santos del Altísimo; y llegó el tiempo, y los santos recibieron el reino. | 22 bis der kam, der uralt war, und Recht schaffte den Heiligen des Höchsten und bis die Zeit kam, daß die Heiligen das Reich empfingen. |

Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
| 23 Dijo así: La cuarta bestia será un cuarto reino en la tierra, el cual será diferente de todos los otros reinos, y a toda la tierra devorará, trillará y despedazará. | 23 Er sprach: Das vierte Tier wird das vierte Königreich auf Erden sein; das wird ganz anders sein als alle andern Königreiche; es wird alle Länder fressen, zertreten und zermalmen. |

And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.
| 24 Y los diez cuernos significan que de aquel reino se levantarán diez reyes; y tras ellos se levantará otro, el cual será diferente de los primeros, y a tres reyes derribará. | 24 Die zehn Hörner bedeuten zehn Könige, die aus diesem Königreich hervorgehen werden. Nach ihnen aber wird ein anderer aufkommen, der wird ganz anders sein als die vorigen und wird drei Könige stürzen. |

And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
| 25 Y hablará palabras contra el Altísimo, y a los santos del Altísimo quebrantará, y pensará en cambiar los tiempos y la ley; y serán entregados en su mano hasta tiempo, y tiempos, y medio tiempo. | 25 Er wird den Höchsten lästern und die Heiligen des Höchsten vernichten und wird sich unterstehen, Festzeiten und Gesetz zu ändern. Sie werden in seine Hand gegeben werden eine Zeit und zwei Zeiten und eine halbe Zeit. |

But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.
| 26 Pero se sentará el Juez, y le quitarán su dominio para que sea destruido y arruinado hasta el fin, | 26 Danach wird das Gericht gehalten werden; dann wird ihm seine Macht genommen und ganz und gar vernichtet werden. |

And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.
| 27 y que el reino, y el dominio y la majestad de los reinos debajo de todo el cielo, sea dado al pueblo de los santos del Altísimo, cuyo reino es reino eterno, y todos los dominios le servirán y obedecerán. | 27 Aber das Reich und die Macht und die Gewalt über die Königreiche unter dem ganzen Himmel wird dem Volk der Heiligen des Höchsten gegeben werden, dessen Reich ewig ist, und alle Mächte werden ihm dienen und gehorchen. |

Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart. | 28 Aquí fue el fin de sus palabras. En cuanto a mí, Daniel, mis pensamientos me turbaron y mi rostro se demudó; pero guardé el asunto en mi corazón. | 28 Das war das Ende der Rede. Aber ich, Daniel, wurde sehr beunruhigt in meinen Gedanken, und jede Farbe war aus meinem Antlitz gewichen; doch behielt ich die Rede in meinem Herzen. |
