It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole kingdom;

And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel was first: that the princes might give accounts unto them, and the king should have no damage.

Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.
| 3 Pero Daniel mismo era superior a estos sátrapas y gobernadores, porque había en él un espíritu superior; y el rey pensó en ponerlo sobre todo el reino. | 3 ber sie setzte er drei Fürsten, von denen einer Daniel war. Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.
| 4 Entonces los gobernadores y sátrapas buscaban ocasión para acusar a Daniel en lo relacionado al reino; mas no podían hallar ocasión alguna o falta, porque él era fiel, y ningún vicio ni falta fue hallado en él. | 4 Daniel aber übertraf alle Fürsten und Statthalter, denn es war ein überragender Geist in ihm. Darum dachte der König daran, ihn über das ganze Königreich zu setzen. |

Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God.
| 5 Entonces dijeron aquellos hombres: No hallaremos contra este Daniel ocasión alguna para acusarle, si no la hallamos contra él en relación con la ley de su Dios. | 5 Da trachteten die Fürsten und Statthalter danach, an Daniel etwas zu finden, das gegen das Königreich gerichtet wäre. Aber sie konnten keinen Grund zur Anklage und kein Vergehen finden; denn er war treu, so daß man keine Schuld und kein Vergehen bei ihm finden konnte. |

Then these presidents and princes assembled together to the king, and said thus unto him, King Darius, live for ever.
| 6 Entonces estos gobernadores y sátrapas se juntaron delante del rey, y le dijeron así: ˇRey Darío, para siempre vive! | 6 Da sprachen die Männer: Wir werden keinen Grund zur Anklage gegen Daniel finden, es sei denn wegen seiner Gottesverehrung. |

All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the aBEL-MEHOLaH, and the captains, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions.
| 7 Todos los gobernadores del reino, magistrados, sátrapas, príncipes y capitanes han acordado por consejo que promulgues un edicto real y lo confirmes, que cualquiera que en el espacio de treinta días demande petición de cualquier dios u hombre fuera de ti, oh rey, sea echado en el foso de los leones. | 7 Da kamen die Fürsten und Statthalter eilends vor den König gelaufen und sprachen zu ihm: Der König Darius lebe ewig! |

Now, O king, establish the decree, and sign the writing, that it be not changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.
| 8 Ahora, oh rey, confirma el edicto y fírmalo, para que no pueda ser revocado, conforme a la ley de Media y de Persia, la cual no puede ser abrogada. | 8 Es haben die Fürsten des Königreichs, die Würdenträger, die Statthalter, die Räte und Befehlshaber alle gedacht, es solle ein königlicher Befehl gegeben und ein strenges Gebot erlassen werden, daß jeder, der in dreißig Tagen etwas bitten wird von irgendeinem Gott oder Menschen außer von dir, dem König, allein, zu den Löwen in die Grube geworfen werden soll. |

Wherefore king Darius signed the writing and the decree.
| 9 Firmó, pues, el rey Darío el edicto y la prohibición. | 9 Darum, oh König, wollest du ein solches Gebot ausgehen lassen und ein Schreiben aufsetzen, das nicht wieder geändert werden darf nach dem Gesetz der Meder und Perser, das unaufhebbar ist. |

Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.
| 10 Cuando Daniel supo que el edicto había sido firmado, entró en su casa, y abiertas las ventanas de su cámara que daban hacia Jerusalén, se arrodillaba tres veces al día, y oraba y daba gracias delante de su Dios, como lo solía hacer antes. | 10 So ließ der König Darius das Schreiben und das Gebot aufsetzen. |

Then these men assembled, and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God.
| 11 Entonces se juntaron aquellos hombres, y hallaron a Daniel orando y rogando en presencia de su Dios. | 11 Als nun Daniel erfuhr, daß ein solches Gebot ergangen war, ging er hinein in sein Haus. Er hatte aber an seinem Obergemach offene Fenster nach Jerusalem, und er fiel dreimal am Tag auf seine Knie, betete, lobte und dankte seinem Gott, wie er es auch vorher zu tun pflegte. |

Then they came near, and spake before the king concerning the king's decree; Hast thou not signed a decree, that every man that shall ask a petition of any God or man within thirty days, save of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.
| 12 Fueron luego ante el rey y le hablaron del edicto real: żNo has confirmado edicto que cualquiera que en el espacio de treinta días pida a cualquier dios u hombre fuera de ti, oh rey, sea echado en el foso de los leones? Respondió el rey diciendo: Verdad es, conforme a la ley de Media y de Persia, la cual no puede ser abrogada. | 12 Da kamen jene Männer eilends gelaufen und fanden Daniel, wie er betete und flehte vor seinem Gott. |

Then answered they and said before the king, That Daniel, which is of the children of the captivity of Judah, regardeth not thee, O king, nor the decree that thou hast signed, but maketh his petition three times a day.
| 13 Entonces respondieron y dijeron delante del rey: Daniel, que es de los hijos de los cautivos de Judá, no te respeta a ti, oh rey, ni acata el edicto que confirmaste, sino que tres veces al día hace su petición. | 13 Da traten sie vor den König und redeten mit ihm über das königliche Gebot: Oh König, hast du nicht ein Gebot erlassen, daß jeder, der in dreißig Tagen etwas bitten würde von irgendeinem Gott oder Menschen außer von dir, dem König, allein, zu den Löwen in die Grube geworfen werden solle? Der König antwortete und sprach: Das ist wahr, und das Gesetz der Meder und Perser kann niemand aufheben. |

Then the king, when he heard these words, was sore displeased with himself, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him: and he laboured till the going down of the sun to deliver him.
| 14 Cuando el rey oyó el asunto, le pesó en gran manera, y resolvió librar a Daniel; y hasta la puesta del sol trabajó para librarle. | 14 Sie antworteten und sprachen vor dem König: Daniel, einer der Gefangenen aus Juda, der achtet weder dich noch dein Gebot, das du erlassen hast; denn er betet dreimal am Tage. |

Then these men assembled unto the king, and said unto the king, Know, O king, that the law of the Medes and Persians is, That no decree nor statute which the king establisheth may be changed.
| 15 Pero aquellos hombres rodearon al rey y le dijeron: Sepas, oh rey, que es ley de Media y de Persia que ningún edicto u ordenanza que el rey confirme puede ser abrogado. | 15 Als der König das hörte, wurde er sehr betrübt und war darauf bedacht, Daniel die Freiheit zu erhalten, und mühte sich, bis die Sonne unterging, ihn zu erretten. |

Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.
| 16 Entonces el rey mandó, y trajeron a Daniel, y le echaron en el foso de los leones. Y el rey dijo a Daniel: El Dios tuyo, a quien tú continuamente sirves, él te libre. | 16 Aber die Männer kamen wieder zum König gelaufen und sprachen zu ihm: Du weißt doch, König, es ist das Gesetz der Meder und Perser, daß alle Gebote und Befehle, die der König beschlossen hat, unverändert bleiben sollen. |

And a stone was brought, and laid upon the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it with his own signet, and with the signet of his lords; that the purpose might not be changed concerning Daniel.
| 17 Y fue traída una piedra y puesta sobre la puerta del foso, la cual selló el rey con su anillo y con el anillo de sus príncipes, para que el acuerdo acerca de Daniel no se alterase. | 17 Da befahl der König, Daniel herzubringen. Und sie warfen ihn zu den Löwen in die Grube. Der König aber sprach zu Daniel: Dein Gott, dem du ohne Unterlaß dienst, der helfe dir! |

Then the king went to his palace, and passed the night fasting: neither were instruments of musick brought before him: and his sleep went from him.
| 18 Luego el rey se fue a su palacio, y se acostó ayuno; ni instrumentos de música fueron traídos delante de él, y se le fue el sueńo. | 18 Und sie brachten einen Stein, den legten sie vor die Öffnung der Grube; den versiegelte der König mit seinem eigenen Ring und mit dem Ringe seiner Mächtigen, damit nichts anderes mit Daniel geschähe. |

Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste unto the den of lions.
| 19 El rey, pues, se levantó muy de mańana, y fue apresuradamente al foso de los leones. | 19 Und der König ging weg in seinen Palast und fastete die Nacht über und ließ kein Essen vor sich bringen und konnte auch nicht schlafen. |

And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?
| 20 Y acercándose al foso llamó a voces a Daniel con voz triste, y le dijo: Daniel, siervo del Dios viviente, el Dios tuyo, a quien tú continuamente sirves, żte ha podido librar de los leones? | 20 Früh am Morgen, als der Tag anbrach, stand der König auf und ging eilends zur Grube, wo die Löwen waren. |

Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever.
| 21 Entonces Daniel respondió al rey: Oh rey, vive para siempre. | 21 Und als er zur Grube kam, rief er Daniel mit angstvoller Stimme. Und der König sprach zu Daniel: Daniel, du Knecht des lebendigen Gottes, hat dich dein Gott, dem du ohne Unterlaß dienst, auch erretten können von den Löwen? |

My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.
| 22 Mi Dios envió su ángel, el cual cerró la boca de los leones, para que no me hiciesen dańo, porque ante él fui hallado inocente; y aun delante de ti, oh rey, yo no he hecho nada malo. | 22 Daniel aber redete mit dem König: Der König lebe ewig! |

Then was the king exceeding glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God.
| 23 Entonces se alegró el rey en gran manera a causa de él, y mandó sacar a Daniel del foso; y fue Daniel sacado del foso, y ninguna lesión se halló en él, porque había confiado en su Dios. | 23 Mein Gott hat seinen Engel gesandt, der den Löwen den Rachen zugehalten hat, so daß sie mir kein Leid antun konnten; denn vor ihm bin ich unschuldig, und auch gegen dich, mein König, habe ich nichts Böses getan. |

And the king commanded, and they brought those men which had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions had the mastery of them, and brake all their bones in pieces or ever they came at the bottom of the den.
| 24 Y dio orden el rey, y fueron traídos aquellos hombres que habían acusado a Daniel, y fueron echados en el foso de los leones ellos, sus hijos y sus mujeres; y aún no habían llegado al fondo del foso, cuando los leones se apoderaron de ellos y quebraron todos sus huesos. | 24 Da wurde der König sehr froh und ließ Daniel aus der Grube herausziehen. Und sie zogen Daniel aus der Grube heraus, und man fand keine Verletzung an ihm; denn er hatte seinem Gott vertraut. |

Then king Darius wrote unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you.
| 25 Entonces el rey Darío escribió a todos los pueblos, naciones y lenguas que habitan en toda la tierra: Paz os sea multiplicada. | 25 Da ließ der König die Männer, die Daniel verklagt hatten, holen und zu den Löwen in die Grube werfen samt ihren Kindern und Frauen. Und ehe sie den Boden erreichten, ergriffen die Löwen sie und zermalmten alle ihre Knochen. |

I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and stedfast for ever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even unto the end.
| 26 De parte mía es puesta esta ordenanza: Que en todo el dominio de mi reino todos teman y tiemblen ante la presencia del Dios de Daniel; porque él es el Dios viviente y permanece por todos los siglos, y su reino no será jamás destruido, y su dominio perdurará hasta el fin. | 26 Da ließ der König Darius allen Völkern und Leuten aus so vielen verschiedenen Sprachen auf der ganzen Erde schreiben: Viel Friede zuvor! |

He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.
| 27 El salva y libra, y hace seńales y maravillas en el cielo y en la tierra; él ha librado a Daniel del poder de los leones. | 27 Das ist mein Befehl, daß man in meinem ganzen Königreich den Gott Daniels fürchten und sich vor ihm scheuen soll. Denn er ist der lebendige Gott, der ewig bleibt, und sein Reich ist unvergänglich, und seine Herrschaft hat kein Ende. |

So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian. | 28 Y este Daniel prosperó durante el reinado de Darío y durante el reinado de Ciro el persa. | 28 Er ist ein Retter und Nothelfer, und er tut Zeichen und Wunder im Himmel und auf Erden. Der hat Daniel von den Löwen errettet. |
