In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision.
| 1 En el año tercero de Ciro rey de Persia fue revelada palabra a Daniel, llamado Beltsasar; y la palabra era verdadera, y el conflicto grande; pero él comprendió la palabra, y tuvo inteligencia en la visión. | 1 Im dritten Jahr des Königs Kyrus von Persien wurde dem Daniel, der Beltschazar heißt, etwas offenbart, was gewiß ist und von großen Dingen handelt. Und er achtete darauf und verstand das Gesicht. |

In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks.

I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.
| 3 No comí manjar delicado, ni entró en mi boca carne ni vino, ni me ungí con ungüento, hasta que se cumplieron las tres semanas. | 3 Ich aß keine leckere Speise; Fleisch und Wein kamen nicht in meinen Mund; und ich salbte mich auch nicht, bis die drei Wochen um waren. |

And in the four and twentieth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Hiddekel;

Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz:
| 5 Y alcé mis ojos y miré, y he aquí un varón vestido de lino, y ceñidos sus lomos de oro de Ufaz. | 5 und hob meine Augen auf und sah, und siehe, da stand ein Mann, der hatte leinene Kleider an und einen goldenen Gürtel um seine Lenden. |

His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.
| 6 Su cuerpo era como de berilo, y su rostro parecía un relámpago, y sus ojos como antorchas de fuego, y sus brazos y sus pies como de color de bronce bruñido, y el sonido de sus palabras como el estruendo de una multitud. | 6 Sein Leib war wie ein Türkis, sein Antlitz sah aus wie ein Blitz, seine Augen wie feurige Fackeln, seine Arme und Füße wie helles, glattes Kupfer, und seine Rede war wie ein großes Brausen. |

And I Daniel alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves.
| 7 Y sólo yo, Daniel, vi aquella visión, y no la vieron los hombres que estaban conmigo, sino que se apoderó de ellos un gran temor, y huyeron y se escondieron. | 7 Aber ich, Daniel, sah dies Gesicht allein, und die Männer, die bei mir waren, sahen's nicht; doch fiel ein großer Schrecken auf sie, so daß sie flohen und sich verkrochen. |

Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength.
| 8 Quedé, pues, yo solo, y vi esta gran visión, y no quedó fuerza en mí, antes mi fuerza se cambió en desfallecimiento, y no tuve vigor alguno. | 8 Ich blieb allein und sah dies große Gesicht. Es blieb aber keine Kraft in mir; jede Farbe wich aus meinem Antlitz, und ich hatte keine Kraft mehr. |

Yet heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground.
| 9 Pero oí el sonido de sus palabras; y al oír el sonido de sus palabras, caí sobre mi rostro en un profundo sueño, con mi rostro en tierra. | 9 Und ich hörte seine Rede; und während ich sie hörte, sank ich ohnmächtig auf mein Angesicht zur Erde. |

And, behold, an hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands.
| 10 Y he aquí una mano me tocó, e hizo que me pusiese sobre mis rodillas y sobre las palmas de mis manos. | 10 Und siehe, eine Hand rührte mich an und half mir auf die Knie und auf die Hände, |

And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling.
| 11 Y me dijo: Daniel, varón muy amado, está atento a las palabras que te hablaré, y ponte en pie; porque a ti he sido enviado ahora. Mientras hablaba esto conmigo, me puse en pie temblando. | 11 und er sprach zu mir: Daniel, du von Gott Geliebter, merk auf die Worte, die ich mit dir rede, und richte dich auf; denn ich bin jetzt zu dir gesandt. Und als er dies mit mir redete, richtete ich mich zitternd auf. |

Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.
| 12 Entonces me dijo: Daniel, no temas; porque desde el primer día que dispusiste tu corazón a entender y a humillarte en la presencia de tu Dios, fueron oídas tus palabras; y a causa de tus palabras yo he venido. | 12 Und er sprach zu mir: Fürchte dich nicht, Daniel; denn von dem ersten Tage an, als du von Herzen begehrtest zu verstehen und anfingst, dich zu demütigen vor deinem Gott, wurden deine Worte erhört, und ich wollte kommen um deiner Worte willen. |

But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
| 13 Mas el príncipe del reino de Persia se me opuso durante veintiún días; pero he aquí Miguel, uno de los principales príncipes, vino para ayudarme, y quedé allí con los reyes de Persia. | 13 Aber der Engelfürst des Königreichs Persien hat mir einundzwanzig Tage widerstanden; und siehe, Michael, einer der Ersten unter den Engelfürsten, kam mir zu Hilfe, und ihm überließ ich den Kampf mit dem Engelfürsten des Königreichs Persien. |

Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.
| 14 He venido para hacerte saber lo que ha de venir a tu pueblo en los postreros días; porque la visión es para esos días. | 14 Nun aber komme ich, um dir Bericht zu geben, wie es deinem Volk gehen wird am Ende der Tage; denn das Gesicht geht auf ferne Zeit. |

And when he had spoken such words unto me, I set my face toward the ground, and I became dumb.
| 15 Mientras me decía estas palabras, estaba yo con los ojos puestos en tierra, y enmudecido. | 15 Und als er das alles mit mir redete, neigte ich mein Angesicht zur Erde und schwieg still. |

And, behold, one like the similitude of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spake, and said unto him that stood before me, O my lord, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength.
| 16 Pero he aquí, uno con semejanza de hijo de hombre tocó mis labios. Entonces abrí mi boca y hablé, y dije al que estaba delante de mí: Señor mío, con la visión me han sobrevenido dolores, y no me queda fuerza. | 16 Und siehe, einer, der einem Menschen gleich war, rührte meine Lippen an. Da tat ich meinen Mund auf und redete und sprach zu dem, der vor mir stand: Mein Herr, meine Glieder bebten, als ich das Gesicht hatte, und es war keine Kraft mehr in mir. |

For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me, straightway there remained no strength in me, neither is there breath left in me.
| 17 ¿Cómo, pues, podrá el siervo de mi señor hablar con mi señor? Porque al instante me faltó la fuerza, y no me quedó aliento. | 17 Wie kann der Knecht meines Herrn mit meinem Herrn reden, da auch jetzt noch keine Kraft in mir ist und mir der Atem fehlt? |

Then there came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me,
| 18 Y aquel que tenía semejanza de hombre me tocó otra vez, y me fortaleció, | 18 Da rührte mich abermals der an, der aussah wie ein Mensch, und stärkte mich |

And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.
| 19 y me dijo: Muy amado, no temas; la paz sea contigo; esfuérzate y aliéntate. Y mientras él me hablaba, recobré las fuerzas, y dije: Hable mi señor, porque me has fortalecido. | 19 und sprach: Fürchte dich nicht, du von Gott Geliebter! Friede sei mit dir! Sei getrost, sei getrost! Und als er mit mir redete, ermannte ich mich und sprach: Mein Herr, rede; denn du hast mich gestärkt. |

Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Grecia shall come.
| 20 El me dijo: ¿Sabes por qué he venido a tí? Pues ahora tengo que volver para pelear contra el príncipe de Persia; y al terminar con él, el príncipe de Grecia vendrá. | 20 Und er sprach: Weißt du, warum ich zu dir gekommen bin? Und jetzt muß ich wieder hin und mit dem Engelfürsten von Persien kämpfen; und wenn ich das hinter mich gebracht habe, siehe, dann wird der Engelfürst von Griechenland kommen. |

But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince. | 21 Pero yo te declararé lo que está escrito en el libro de la verdad; y ninguno me ayuda contra ellos, sino Miguel vuestro príncipe. | 21 - Doch zuvor will ich dir kundtun, was geschrieben ist im Buch der Wahrheit. - Und es ist keiner, der mir hilft gegen jene, außer eurem Engelfürsten Michael. |
