Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me; and, behold, he formed grasshoppers in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; and, lo, it was the latter growth after the king's mowings.
| 1 Así me ha mostrado Jehová el Señor: He aquí, él criaba langostas cuando comenzaba a crecer el heno tardío; y he aquí era el heno tardío después de las siegas del rey. | 1 Gott der HERR ließ mich schauen, und siehe, da war einer, der machte Heuschrecken zur Zeit, als das Grummet aufging; und siehe, das Grummet war gewachsen, nachdem der König hatte mähen lassen. |

And it came to pass, that when they had made an end of eating the grass of the land, then I said, O Lord GOD, forgive, I beseech thee: by whom shall Jacob arise? for he is small.
| 2 Y aconteció que cuando acabó de comer la hierba de la tierra, yo dije: Señor Jehová, perdona ahora; ¿quién levantará a Jacob? porque es pequeño. | 2 Als sie nun alles Gras im Lande abfressen wollten, sprach ich: Ach Herr HERR, sei gnädig! Wer soll Jakob wieder aufhelfen? Er ist ja so schwach. |

The LORD repented for this: It shall not be, saith the LORD.
| 3 Se arrepintió Jehová de esto: No será, dijo Jehová. | 3 Da reute es den HERRN, und er sprach: Wohlan, es soll nicht geschehen. |

Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me: and, behold, the Lord GOD called to contend by fire, and it devoured the great deep, and did eat up a part.
| 4 Jehová el Señor me mostró así: He aquí, Jehová el Señor llamaba para juzgar con fuego; y consumió un gran abismo, y consumió una parte de la tierra. | 4 Gott der HERR ließ mich schauen, und siehe, Gott der HERR rief das Feuer, um damit zu strafen. Das verzehrte die große Tiefe und fraß das Ackerland. |

Then said I, O Lord GOD, cease, I beseech thee: by whom shall Jacob arise? for he is small.
| 5 Y dije: Señor Jehová, cesa ahora; ¿quién levantará a Jacob? porque es pequeño. | 5 Da sprach ich: Ach Herr HERR, laß ab! Wer soll Jakob wieder aufhelfen? Er ist ja so schwach. |

The LORD repented for this: This also shall not be, saith the Lord GOD.

Thus he shewed me: and, behold, the Lord stood upon a wall made by a plumbline, with a plumbline in his hand.
| 7 Me enseñó así: He aquí el Señor estaba sobre un muro hecho a plomo, y en su mano una plomada de albañil. | 7 Er ließ mich abermals schauen, und siehe, der Herr stand auf der Mauer, die mit einem Bleilot gerichtet war, und er hatte ein Bleilot in seiner Hand. |

And the LORD said unto me, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A plumbline. Then said the Lord, Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Israel: I will not again pass by them any more:
| 8 Jehová entonces me dijo: ¿Qué ves, Amós? Y dije: Una plomada de albañil. Y el Señor dijo: He aquí, yo pongo plomada de albañil en medio de mi pueblo Israel; no lo toleraré más. | 8 Und der HERR sprach zu mir: Was siehst du, Amos? Ich sprach: Ein Bleilot. Da sprach der Herr zu mir: Siehe, ich will das Bleilot legen an mein Volk Israel und ihm nichts mehr übersehen, |

And the high places of Isaac shall be desolate, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.
| 9 Los lugares altos de Isaac serán destruidos, y los santuarios de Israel serán asolados, y me levantaré con espada sobre la casa de Jeroboam. | 9 sondern die Höhen Isaaks sollen verwüstet und die Heiligtümer Israels zerstört werden, und ich will mich mit dem Schwert über das Haus Jerobeam hermachen. |

Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos hath conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel: the land is not able to bear all his words.
| 10 Entonces el sacerdote Amasías de Bet-el envió a decir a Jeroboam rey de Israel: Amós se ha levantado contra ti en medio de la casa de Israel; la tierra no puede sufrir todas sus palabras. | 10 Da sandte Amazja, der Priester in Bethel, zu Jerobeam, dem König von Israel, und ließ ihm sagen: Der Amos macht einen Aufruhr gegen dich im Hause Israel; das Land kann seine Worte nicht ertragen. |

For thus Amos saith, Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of their own land.
| 11 Porque así ha dicho Amós: Jeroboam morirá a espada, e Israel será llevado de su tierra en cautiverio. | 11 Denn so spricht Amos: Jerobeam wird durchs Schwert sterben, und Israel wird aus seinem Lande gefangen weggeführt werden. |

Also Amaziah said unto Amos, O thou seer, go, flee thee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there:
| 12 Y Amasías dijo a Amós: Vidente, vete, huye a tierra de Judá, y come allá tu pan, y profetiza allá; | 12 Und Amazja sprach zu Amos: Du Seher, geh weg und flieh ins Land Juda und iß dort dein Brot und weissage daselbst. |

But prophesy not again any more at Bethel: for it is the king's chapel, and it is the king's court.
| 13 y no profetices más en Bet-el, porque es santuario del rey, y capital del reino. | 13 Aber weissage nicht mehr in Bethel; denn es ist des Königs Heiligtum und der Tempel des Königreichs. |

Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet's son; but I was an herdman, and a gatherer of sycomore fruit:
| 14 Entonces respondió Amós, y dijo a Amasías: No soy profeta, ni soy hijo de profeta, sino que soy boyero, y recojo higos silvestres. | 14 Amos antwortete und sprach zu Amazja: Ich bin kein Prophet noch ein Prophetenjünger, sondern ich bin ein Hirt, der Maulbeeren züchtet. |

And the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and the LORD said unto me, Go, prophesy unto my people Israel.
| 15 Y Jehová me tomó de detrás del ganado, y me dijo: Ve y profetiza a mi pueblo Israel. | 15 Aber der HERR nahm mich von der Herde und sprach zu mir: Geh hin und weissage meinem Volk Israel! |

Now therefore hear thou the word of the LORD: Thou sayest, Prophesy not against Israel, and drop not thy word against the house of Isaac.
| 16 Ahora, pues, oye palabra de Jehová. Tú dices: No profetices contra Israel, ni hables contra la casa de Isaac. | 16 So höre nun des HERRN Wort! Du sprichst: Weissage nicht wider Israel und eifere nicht wider das Haus Isaak! |

Therefore thus saith the LORD; Thy wife shall be an harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided by line; and thou shalt die in a polluted land: and Israel shall surely go into captivity forth of his land. | 17 Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová: Tu mujer será ramera en medio de la ciudad, y tus hijos y tus hijas caerán a espada, y tu tierra será repartida por suertes; y tú morirás en tierra inmunda, e Israel será llevado cautivo lejos de su tierra. | 17 Darum spricht der HERR: Deine Frau wird in der Stadt zur Hure werden, und deine Söhne und Töchter sollen durchs Schwert fallen, und dein Acker soll mit der Meßschnur ausgeteilt werden. Du aber sollst in einem unreinen Lande sterben, und Israel soll aus seinem Lande vertrieben werden. |
