And when Saul's son heard that Abner was dead in Hebron, his hands were feeble, and all the Israelites were troubled.

And Saul's son had two men that were captains of bands: the name of the one was Baanah, and the name of the other Rechab, the sons of Rimmon a Beerothite, of the children of Benjamin: (for Beeroth also was reckoned to Benjamin:

And the Beerothites fled to Gittaim, and were sojourners there until this day.)

And Jonathan, Saul's son, had a son that was lame of his feet. He was five years old when the tidings came of Saul and Jonathan out of Jezreel, and his nurse took him up, and fled: and it came to pass, as she made haste to flee, that he fell, and became lame. And his name was Mephibosheth.
| 4 Y Jonatán hijo de Saúl tenía un hijo lisiado de los pies. And the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, Rechab and Baanah, went, and came about the heat of the day to the house of Ish-bosheth, who lay on a bed at noon.
| 5 Los hijos, pues, de Rimón beerotita, Recab y Baana, fueron y entraron en el mayor calor del día en casa de Is-boset, el cual estaba durmiendo la siesta en su cámara. | 5 So gingen nun Rechab und Baana, die Söhne Rimmons von Beerot, hin und kamen zum Hause Isch-Boschets, als der Tag am heißesten war; und er schlief auf seinem Lager am Mittag. |

And they came thither into the midst of the house, as though they would have fetched wheat; and they smote him under the fifth rib: and Rechab and Baanah his brother escaped.

For when they came into the house, he lay on his bed in his bedchamber, and they smote him, and slew him, and beheaded him, and took his head, and gat them away through the plain all night.

And they brought the head of Ish-bosheth unto David to Hebron, and said to the king, Behold the head of Ish-bosheth the son of Saul thine enemy, which sought thy life; and the LORD hath avenged my lord the king this day of Saul, and of his seed.
| 8 Y trajeron la cabeza de Is-boset a David en Hebrón, y dijeron al rey: He aquí la cabeza de Is-boset hijo de Saúl tu enemigo, que procuraba matarte; y Jehová ha vengado hoy a mi señor el rey, de Saúl y de su linaje. | 8 und brachten das Haupt Isch-Boschets zu David nach Hebron und sprachen zum König: Siehe, da ist das Haupt Isch- Boschets, des Sohnes Sauls, deines Feindes, der dir nach dem Leben getrachtet hat. Der HERR hat heute meinen Herrn, den König, gerächt an Saul und an seinem Geschlecht. |

And David answered Rechab and Baanah his brother, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, and said unto them, As the LORD liveth, who hath redeemed my soul out of all adversity,
| 9 Y David respondió a Recab y a su hermano Baana, hijos de Rimón beerotita, y les dijo: Vive Jehová que ha redimido mi alma de toda angustia, | 9 Da antwortete ihnen David: So wahr der HERR lebt, der mich aus aller Bedrängnis erlöst hat: |

When one told me, saying, Behold, Saul is dead, thinking to have brought good tidings, I took hold of him, and slew him in Ziklag, who thought that I would have given him a reward for his tidings:
| 10 que cuando uno me dio nuevas, diciendo: He aquí Saúl ha muerto, imaginándose que traía buenas nuevas, yo lo prendí, y le maté en Siclag en pago de la nueva. | 10 ich habe den, der mir verkündete: Saul ist tot, und meinte, er sei ein guter Bote, ergriffen und getötet in Ziklag, dem ich doch Lohn für eine gute Botschaft hätte geben sollen. |

How much more, when wicked men have slain a righteous person in his own house upon his bed? shall I not therefore now require his blood of your hand, and take you away from the earth?
| 11 ¿Cuánto más a los malos hombres que mataron a un hombre justo en su casa, y sobre su cama? Ahora, pues, ¿no he de demandar yo su sangre de vuestras manos, y quitaros de la tierra? | 11 Und diese gottlosen Leute haben einen gerechten Mann in seinem Hause auf seinem Lager getötet - sollte ich sein Blut nicht fordern von euren Händen und euch von der Erde vertilgen?a |

And David commanded his young men, and they slew them, and cut off their hands and their feet, and hanged them up over the pool in Hebron. But they took the head of Ish-bosheth, and buried it in the sepulchre of Abner in Hebron. | 12 Entonces David ordenó a sus servidores, y ellos los mataron, y les cortaron las manos y los pies, y los colgaron sobre el estanque en Hebrón. Luego tomaron la cabeza de Is- boset, y la enterraron en el sepulcro de Abner en Hebrón. | 12 Und David gebot seinen Leuten; die schlugen sie nieder und hieben ihnen Hände und Füße ab und hängten sie auf am Teich bei Hebron.
