Now there was long war between the house of Saul and the house of David: but David waxed stronger and stronger, and the house of Saul waxed weaker and weaker.

And it came to pass, while there was war between the house of Saul and the house of David, that Abner made himself strong for the house of Saul.

Then was Abner very wroth for the words of Ish-bosheth, and said, Am I a dog's head, which against Judah do shew kindness this day unto the house of Saul thy father, to his brethren, and to his friends, and have not delivered thee into the hand of David, that thou chargest me to day with a fault concerning this woman?
| 8 Y se enojó Abner en gran manera por las palabras de Is-boset, y dijo: ¿Soy yo cabeza de perro que pertenezca a Judá? Yo he hecho hoy misericordia con la casa de Saúl tu padre, con sus hermanos y con sus amigos, y no te he entregado en mano de David; ¿y tú me haces hoy cargo del pecado de esta mujer? | 8 Da wurde Abner sehr zornig über die Worte Isch-Boschets und sprach: Bin ich denn ein Hundskopf aus Juda? Heute erweise ich mich freundlich dem Hause Sauls, deines Vaters, und seinen Brüdern und Freunden und habe dich nicht in Davids Hände gegeben, und du rechnest mir heute eine Schuld an wegen eines Weibes? |

So do God to Abner, and more also, except, as the LORD hath sworn to David, even so I do to him;

To translate the kingdom from the house of Saul, and to set up the throne of David over Israel and over Judah, from Dan even to Beer-sheba.
| 10 trasladando el reino de la casa de Saúl, y confirmando el trono de David sobre Israel y sobre Judá, desde Dan hasta Beerseba. | 10 daß das Königtum vom Hause Sauls genommen und der Thron Davids aufgerichtet werde über Israel und Juda von Dan bis Beerscheba! |

And he could not answer Abner a word again, because he feared him.
| 11 Y él no pudo responder palabra a Abner, porque le temía. | 11 Da konnte er Abner kein Wort mehr antworten, so fürchtete er sich vor ihm. |

And Abner sent messengers to David on his behalf, saying, Whose is the land? saying also, Make thy league with me, and, behold, my hand shall be with thee, to bring about all Israel unto thee.
| 12 Entonces envió Abner mensajeros a David de su parte, diciendo: ¿De quién es la tierra? Y que le dijesen: Haz pacto conmigo, y he aquí que mi mano estará contigo para volver a ti todo Israel. | 12 Und Abner sandte Boten für sich zu David und ließ ihm sagen: Wem gehört das Land? Schließe du einen Bund mit mir; siehe, meine Hand soll mit dir sein, daß ich dir ganz Israel zuführe. |

And he said, Well; I will make a league with thee: but one thing I require of thee, that is, Thou shalt not see my face, except thou first bring Michal Saul's daughter, when thou comest to see my face.
| 13 Y David dijo: Bien; haré pacto contigo, mas una cosa te pido: No me vengas a ver sin que primero traigas a Mical la hija de Saúl, cuando vengas a verme. | 13 David sprach: Gut, ich will einen Bund mit dir schließen. And David sent messengers to Ish-bosheth Saul's son, saying, Deliver me my wife Michal, which I espoused to me for an hundred foreskins of the Philistines.
| 14 Después de esto envió David mensajeros a Is-boset hijo de Saúl, diciendo: Restitúyeme mi mujer Mical, la cual desposé conmigo por cien prepucios de filisteos. | 14 Auch sandte David Boten zu Isch- Boschet, dem Sohn Sauls, und ließ ihm sagen: Gib mir meine Frau Michal, die ich mir gewonnen habe mit hundert Vorhäuten der Philister. |

And Ish-bosheth sent, and took her from her husband, even from Phaltiel the son of Laish.

And her husband went with her along weeping behind her to Bahurim. Then said Abner unto him, Go, return. And he returned.
| 16 Y su marido fue con ella, siguiéndola y llorando hasta Bahurim. Y le dijo Abner: Anda, vuélvete. Entonces él se volvió. | 16 Und ihr Mann ging mit ihr und weinte hinter ihr her bis Bahurim. Da sprach Abner zu ihm: Kehre um und geh heim! Und er kehrte um. |

And Abner had communication with the elders of Israel, saying, Ye sought for David in times past to be king over you:
| 17 Y habló Abner con los ancianos de Israel, diciendo: Hace ya tiempo procurabais que David fuese rey sobre vosotros. | 17 Und Abner besprach sich mit den Ältesten in Israel und sprach: Ihr habt schon längst danach verlangt, daß David König über euch sei. |

Now then do it: for the LORD hath spoken of David, saying, By the hand of my servant David I will save my people Israel out of the hand of the Philistines, and out of the hand of all their enemies.
| 18 Ahora, pues, hacedlo; porque Jehová ha hablado a David, diciendo: Por la mano de mi siervo David libraré a mi pueblo Israel de mano de los filisteos, y de mano de todos sus enemigos. | 18 So tut's nun, denn der HERR hat von David gesagt: Durch die Hand meines Knechtes David will ich mein Volk Israel erretten aus der Hand der Philister und aller seiner Feinde. |

And Abner also spake in the ears of Benjamin: and Abner went also to speak in the ears of David in Hebron all that seemed good to Israel, and that seemed good to the whole house of Benjamin.
| 19 Habló también Abner a los de Benjamín; y fue también Abner a Hebrón a decir a David todo lo que parecía bien a los de Israel y a toda la casa de Benjamín. | 19 Das tat Abner auch Benjamin kund und ging dann hin, um auch David in Hebron alles kundzutun, was Israel und das ganze Haus Benjamin für gut hielten. |

So Abner came to David to Hebron, and twenty men with him. And David made Abner and the men that were with him a feast.

And Abner said unto David, I will arise and go, and will gather all Israel unto my lord the king, that they may make a league with thee, and that thou mayest reign over all that thine heart desireth. And David sent Abner away; and he went in peace.
| 21 Y dijo Abner a David: Yo me levantaré e iré, y juntaré a mi señor el rey a todo Israel, para que hagan contigo pacto, y tú reines como lo desea tu corazón. David despidió luego a Abner, y él se fue en paz. | 21 Und Abner sprach zu David: Ich will mich aufmachen und hingehen, um ganz Israel zu meinem Herrn, dem König, zu sammeln, damit sie einen Bund mit dir schließen, auf daß du König seist, wie es dein Herz begehrt. Dann entließ David den Abner, so daß er hinging mit Frieden. |

And, behold, the servants of David and Joab came from pursuing a troop, and brought in a great spoil with them: but Abner was not with David in Hebron; for he had sent him away, and he was gone in peace.
| 22 Y he aquí que los siervos de David y Joab venían del campo, y traían consigo gran botín. Mas Abner no estaba con David en Hebrón, pues ya lo había despedido, y él se había ido en paz. | 22 Und siehe, die Männer Davids und Joab kamen von einem Streifzug zurück und brachten eine große Beute mit. Abner aber war nicht mehr bei David in Hebron, sondern er hatte ihn entlassen, so daß er mit Frieden weggegangen war. |

When Joab and all the host that was with him were come, they told Joab, saying, Abner the son of Ner came to the king, and he hath sent him away, and he is gone in peace.
| 23 Y luego que llegó Joab y todo el ejército que con él estaba, fue dado aviso a Joab, diciendo: Abner hijo de Ner ha venido al rey, y él le ha despedido, y se fue en paz. | 23 Als aber Joab und das ganze Heer mit ihm kam, wurde ihm angesagt, daß Abner, der Sohn Ners, zum König gekommen sei, und der habe ihn entlassen, so daß er mit Frieden weggegangen war. |

Then Joab came to the king, and said, What hast thou done? behold, Abner came unto thee; why is it that thou hast sent him away, and he is quite gone?
| 24 Entonces Joab vino al rey, y le dijo: ¿Qué has hecho? He aquí Abner vino a ti; ¿por qué, pues, le dejaste que se fuese? | 24 Da ging Joab zum König hinein und sprach: Was hast du getan? Siehe, Abner ist zu dir gekommen; warum hast du ihn fortgelassen, daß er weggegangen ist? |

Thou knowest Abner the son of Ner, that he came to deceive thee, and to know thy going out and thy coming in, and to know all that thou doest.
| 25 Tú conoces a Abner hijo de Ner. No ha venido sino para engañarte, y para enterarse de tu salida y de tu entrada, y para saber todo lo que tú haces. | 25 Kennst du Abner, den Sohn Ners, nicht? Er ist gekommen, dich zu überlisten, daß er erkunde dein Kommen und Gehen und alles erfahre, was du tust. |

And when Joab was come out from David, he sent messengers after Abner, which brought him again from the well of Sirah: but David knew it not.
| 26 Y saliendo Joab de la presencia de David, envió mensajeros tras Abner, los cuales le hicieron volver desde el pozo de Sira, sin que David lo supiera. | 26 Und als Joab von David wegging, sandte er Abner Boten nach, um ihn zurückzuholen von Bor-Sira; aber David wußte nichts davon. |

And when Abner was returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside in the gate to speak with him quietly, and smote him there under the fifth rib, that he died, for the blood of Asahel his brother.
| 27 Y cuando Abner volvió a Hebrón, Joab lo llevó aparte en medio de la puerta para hablar con él en secreto; y allí, en venganza de la muerte de Asael su hermano, le hirió por la quinta costilla, y murió. | 27 Als nun Abner nach Hebron zurückkam, führte ihn Joab im Tor beiseite, um heimlich mit ihm zu reden, und stach ihn dort in den Leib, daß er starb, um des Blutes seines Bruders Asaël willen. |

And afterward when David heard it, he said, I and my kingdom are guiltless before the LORD for ever from the blood of Abner the son of Ner:
| 28 Cuando David supo después esto, dijo: Inocente soy yo y mi reino, delante de Jehová, para siempre, de la sangre de Abner hijo de Ner. | 28 Als David das hernach erfuhr, sprach er: Ich und mein Königtum sind unschuldig vor dem HERRN ewiglich an dem Blut Abners, des Sohnes Ners; |

Let it rest on the head of Joab, and on all his father's house; and let there not fail from the house of Joab one that hath an issue, or that is a leper, or that leaneth on a staff, or that falleth on the sword, or that lacketh bread.
| 29 Caiga sobre la cabeza de Joab, y sobre toda la casa de su padre; que nunca falte de la casa de Joab quien padezca flujo, ni leproso, ni quien ande con báculo, ni quien muera a espada, ni quien tenga falta de pan. | 29 es falle aber auf den Kopf Joabs und auf das ganze Haus seines Vaters, und es soll nicht aufhören im Hause Joabs, daß einer Eiterfluß und Aussatz habe oder am Stabe gehe oder durchs Schwert falle oder an Brot Mangel habe! |

So Joab and Abishai his brother slew Abner, because he had slain their brother Asahel at Gibeon in the battle.
| 30 Joab, pues, y Abisai su hermano, mataron a Abner, porque él había dado muerte a Asael hermano de ellos en la batalla de Gabaón. | 30 Joab und sein Bruder Abischai hatten Abner nach dem Leben getrachtet, weil er ihren Bruder Asaël im Kampf bei Gibeon getötet hatte. |

And David said to Joab, and to all the people that were with him, Rend your clothes, and gird you with sackcloth, and mourn before Abner. And king David himself followed the bier.
| 31 Entonces dijo David a Joab, y a todo el pueblo que con él estaba: Rasgad vuestros vestidos, y ceñíos de cilicio, y haced duelo delante de Abner. Y el rey David iba detrás del féretro. | 31 David aber sprach zu Joab und allem Volk, das bei ihm war: Zerreißt eure Kleider und gürtet euch den Sack um und haltet die Totenklage um Abner! Und der König folgte der Bahre. |

And they buried Abner in Hebron: and the king lifted up his voice, and wept at the grave of Abner; and all the people wept.
| 32 Y sepultaron a Abner en Hebrón; y alzando el rey su voz, lloró junto al sepulcro de Abner; y lloró también todo el pueblo. | 32 Und als sie Abner begruben in Hebron, erhob der König seine Stimme und weinte bei dem Grabe Abners, und auch alles Volk weinte. |

And the king lamented over Abner, and said, Died Abner as a fool dieth?
| 33 Y endechando el rey al mismo Abner, decía:
¿Había de morir Abner como muere un villano? | 33 Und der König klagte um Abner und sprach: Mußte Abner sterben, wie ein Gottloser stirbt? |

Thy hands were not bound, nor thy feet put into fetters: as a man falleth before wicked men, so fellest thou. And all the people wept again over him.
| 34 Tus manos no estaban atadas, ni tus pies ligados con grillos;
Caíste como los que caen delante de malos hombres.
Y todo el pueblo volvió a llorar sobre él. | 34 Deine Hände waren nicht gebunden, deine Füße waren nicht in Ketten gelegt. Und doch bist du gefallen, wie man vor Ruchlosen fällt. Da beweinte ihn alles Volk noch mehr. |

And when all the people came to cause David to eat meat while it was yet day, David sware, saying, So do God to me, and more also, if I taste bread, or ought else, till the sun be down.
| 35 Entonces todo el pueblo vino para persuadir a David que comiera, antes que acabara el día. Mas David juró diciendo: Así me haga Dios y aun me añada, si antes que se ponga el sol gustare yo pan, o cualquiera otra cosa. | 35 Als nun alles Volk kam, während es noch Tag war, um David zum Essen zu nötigen, schwor David und sprach: Gott tue mir dies und das, wenn ich Brot oder sonst etwas zu mir nehme, ehe die Sonne untergeht! |

And all the people took notice of it, and it pleased them: as whatsoever the king did pleased all the people.
| 36 Todo el pueblo supo esto, y le agradó; pues todo lo que el rey hacía agradaba a todo el pueblo. | 36 Und alles Volk nahm es wahr, und es gefiel ihnen gut, wie alles, was der König tat, dem ganzen Volke wohlgefiel. |

For all the people and all Israel understood that day that it was not of the king to slay Abner the son of Ner.
| 37 Y todo el pueblo y todo Israel entendió aquel día, que no había procedido del rey el matar a Abner hijo de Ner. | 37 Und alles Volk und ganz Israel merkten an diesem Tage, daß es nicht vom König ausgegangen war, daß Abner, der Sohn Ners, getötet wurde. |

And the king said unto his servants, Know ye not that there is a prince and a great man fallen this day in Israel?
| 38 También dijo el rey a sus siervos: ¿No sabéis que un príncipe y grande ha caído hoy en Israel? | 38 Und der König sprach zu seinen Männern: Wißt ihr nicht, daß an diesem Tag ein Fürst und Großer gefallen ist in Israel? |

And I am this day weak, though anointed king; and these men the sons of Zeruiah be too hard for me: the LORD shall reward the doer of evil according to his wickedness. | 39 Y yo soy débil hoy, aunque ungido rey; y estos hombres, los hijos de Sarvia, son muy duros para mí; Jehová dé el pago al que mal hace, conforme a su maldad. | 39 Ich aber bin heute noch schwach, obwohl ich zum König gesalbt bin. Aber diese Männer, die Söhne der Zeruja, sind härter als ich. Der HERR vergelte dem, der Böses tut, nach seiner Bosheit. |
