Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,

The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.

The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.

And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain.

Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow.
| 5 No es así mi casa para con Dios;
Sin embargo, él ha hecho conmigo pacto perpetuo,
Ordenado en todas las cosas, y será guardado,
Aunque todavía no haga él florecer

But the sons of Belial shall be all of them as thorns thrust away, because they cannot be taken with hands:
| 6 Mas los impíos serán todos ellos como espinos arrancados,

But the man that shall touch them must be fenced with iron and the staff of a spear; and they shall be utterly burned with fire in the same place.

These be the names of the mighty men whom David had: The Tachmonite that sat in the seat, chief among the captains; the same was Adino the Eznite: he lift up his spear against eight hundred, whom he slew at one time.
| 8 Estos son los nombres de los valientes que tuvo David: Joseb-basebet el tacmonita, principal de los capitanes; éste era Adino el eznita, que mató a ochocientos hombres en una ocasión. | 8 Dies sind die Namen der Helden Davids: Jischbaal, der Hachmoniter, der Erste unter den Dreien; der schwang seinen Spieß über achthundert, die auf einmal erschlagen waren. |

And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo the Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone away:
| 9 Después de éste, Eleazar hijo de Dodo, ahohíta, uno de los tres valientes que estaban con David cuando desafiaron a los filisteos que se habían reunido allí para la batalla, y se habían alejado los hombres de Israel. | 9 Nach ihm war unter den drei Helden Eleasar, der Sohn Dodos, der Ahoachiter. Er war mit David in Pas-Dammim, als die Philister dort versammelt waren zum Kampf und die Männer Israels sich zurückzogen; |

He arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto the sword: and the LORD wrought a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to spoil.
| 10 Este se levantó e hirió a los filisteos hasta que su mano se cansó, y quedó pegada su mano a la espada. Aquel día Jehová dio una gran victoria, y se volvió el pueblo en pos de él tan sólo para recoger el botín. | 10 er aber hielt stand und schlug die Philister, bis seine Hand müde war und am Schwert erstarrte. Und der HERR gab großes Heil an jenem Tage, so daß das Volk sich wieder umwandte hinter ihm her, um zu plündern. |

And after him was Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite. And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a piece of ground full of lentiles: and the people fled from the Philistines.
| 11 Después de éste fue Sama hijo de Age, ararita. Los filisteos se habían reunido en Lehi, donde había un pequeño terreno lleno de lentejas, y el pueblo había huido delante de los filisteos. | 11 Nach ihm war Schamma, der Sohn Ages aus Harar. Als die Philister sich sammelten in Lehi - es war dort ein Stück Acker mit Linsen - und das Volk vor den Philistern floh, |

But he stood in the midst of the ground, and defended it, and slew the Philistines: and the LORD wrought a great victory.
| 12 El entonces se paró en medio de aquel terreno y lo defendió, y mató a los filisteos; y Jehová dio una gran victoria. | 12 da trat er mitten auf das Stück und entriß es den Philistern und schlug sie, und Gott gab großes Heil. |

And three of the thirty chief went down, and came to David in the harvest time unto the cave of Adullam: and the troop of the Philistines pitched in the valley of Rephaim.
| 13 Y tres de los treinta jefes descendieron y vinieron en tiempo de la siega a David en la cueva de Adulam; y el campamento de los filisteos estaba en el valle de Refaim. | 13 Und drei von den dreißig Helden kamen zu Beginn der Ernte hinab zu David, zu der Höhle Adullam, und das Lager der Philister lag in der Ebene Refaïm. |

And David was then in an hold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Bethlehem.

And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!
| 15 Y David dijo con vehemencia: ¡Quién me diera a beber del agua del pozo de Belén que está junto a la puerta! | 15 Und David gelüstete es, und er sprach: Wer will mir Wasser zu trinken holen aus dem Brunnen am Tor in Bethlehem? |

And the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the LORD.
| 16 Entonces los tres valientes irrumpieron por el campamento de los filisteos, y sacaron agua del pozo de Belén que estaba junto a la puerta; y tomaron, y la trajeron a David; mas él no la quiso beber, sino que la derramó para Jehová, | 16 Da brachen die drei Helden in das Lager der Philister ein und schöpften Wasser aus dem Brunnen am Tor in Bethlehem und trugen's und brachten's zu David. Aber er wollte es nicht trinken, sondern goß es aus für den HERRN |

And he said, Be it far from me, O LORD, that I should do this: is not this the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mighty men.
| 17 Lejos sea de mí, oh Jehová, que yo haga esto. ¿He de beber yo la sangre de los varones que fueron con peligro de su vida? Y no quiso beberla. Los tres valientes hicieron esto. | 17 und sprach: Das lasse der HERR fern von mir sein, daß ich das tue! Ist's nicht das Blut der Männer, die ihr Leben gewagt haben und hingegangen sind? Und er wollte es nicht trinken. Das taten die drei Helden. |

And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief among three. And he lifted up his spear against three hundred, and slew them, and had the name among three.
| 18 Y Abisai hermano de Joab, hijo de Sarvia, fue el principal de los treinta. Este alzó su lanza contra trescientos, a quienes mató, y ganó renombre con los tres. | 18 Abischai, Joabs Bruder, der Sohn der Zeruja, war der Erste der Dreißig. Er schwang seinen Spieß über dreihundert Erschlagenen und war berühmt unter den Dreißig. |

Was he not most honourable of three? therefore he was their captain: howbeit he attained not unto the first three.
| 19 El era el más renombrado de los treinta, y llegó a ser su jefe; mas no igualó a los tres primeros. | 19 Er war hochgeehrt unter den Dreißig und war ihr Oberster, aber er kam nicht an jene Drei heran. |

And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man, of Kabzeel, who had done many acts, he slew two lionlike men of Moab: he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow:
| 20 Después, Benaía hijo de Joiada, hijo de un varón esforzado, grande en proezas, de Cabseel. Este mató a dos leones de Moab; y él mismo descendió y mató a un león en medio de un foso cuando estaba nevando. | 20 Und Benaja, der Sohn Jojadas, ein streitbarer Mann von großen Taten, war aus Kabzeel; der erschlug die beiden "Gotteslöwen" der Moabiter. Er stieg hinab und erschlug einen Löwen in einem Brunnen, als Schnee gefallen war. |

And he slew an Egyptian, a goodly man: and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.
| 21 También mató él a un egipcio, hombre de gran estatura; y tenía el egipcio una lanza en su mano, pero descendió contra él con un palo, y arrebató al egipcio la lanza de la mano, y lo mató con su propia lanza. | 21 Er erschlug auch einen ägyptischen Mann, einen Riesen, der hatte einen Spieß in seiner Hand. Er aber ging zu ihm hinab mit einem Stecken und riß dem Ägypter den Spieß aus der Hand und durchbohrte ihn mit dessen eigenem Spieß. |

These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had the name among three mighty men.

He was more honourable than the thirty, but he attained not to the first three. And David set him over his guard.
| 23 Fue renombrado entre los treinta, pero no igualó a los tres primeros. Y lo puso David como jefe de su guardia personal. | 23 und war hochgeehrt unter den Dreißig, aber er kam nicht an jene Drei heran. Und David setzte ihn über seine Leibwache. |
