And it came to pass after this, that David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up into any of the cities of Judah? And the LORD said unto him, Go up. And David said, Whither shall I go up? And he said, Unto Hebron.
| 1 Después de esto aconteció que David consultó a Jehová, diciendo: ¿Subiré a alguna de las ciudades de Judá? Y Jehová le respondió: Sube. David volvió a decir: ¿A dónde subiré? Y él le dijo: A Hebrón. | 1 Bald danach befragte David den HERRN und sprach: Soll ich hinauf in eine der Städte Judas ziehen? Und der HERR sprach zu ihm: Zieh hinauf! David sprach: Wohin? So David went up thither, and his two wives also, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail Nabal's wife the Carmelite.
| 2 David subió allá, y con él sus dos mujeres, Ahinoam jezreelita y Abigail, la que fue mujer de Nabal el de Carmel. | 2 So zog David dorthin mit seinen beiden Frauen, Ahinoam, der Jesreeliterin, und mit Abigajil, der Frau Nabals, des Karmeliters. |

And his men that were with him did David bring up, every man with his household: and they dwelt in the cities of Hebron.
| 3 Llevó también David consigo a los hombres que con él habían estado, cada uno con su familia; los cuales moraron en las ciudades de Hebrón. | 3 Auch die Männer, die bei ihm waren, führte David hinauf, einen jeden mit seinem Hause, und sie wohnten in den Städten von Hebron. |

And the men of Judah came, and there they anointed David king over the house of Judah. And they told David, saying, That the men of Jabesh-gilead were they that buried Saul.
| 4 Y vinieron los varones de Judá y ungieron allí a David por rey sobre la casa de Judá.
Y dieron aviso a David, diciendo: Los de Jabes de Galaad son los que sepultaron a Saúl. | 4 Und die Männer Judas kamen und salbten dort David zum König über das Haus Juda. Und als David angesagt wurde, daß die Männer von Jabesch in Gilead Saul begraben hatten, |

And David sent messengers unto the men of Jabesh-gilead, and said unto them, Blessed be ye of the LORD, that ye have shewed this kindness unto your lord, even unto Saul, and have buried him.
| 5 Entonces envió David mensajeros a los de Jabes de Galaad, diciéndoles: Benditos seáis vosotros de Jehová, que habéis hecho esta misericordia con vuestro señor, con Saúl, dándole sepultura. | 5 sandte er Boten zu ihnen und ließ ihnen sagen: Gesegnet seid ihr vom HERRN, weil ihr solche Barmherzigkeit an Saul, eurem Herrn, getan und ihn begraben habt. |

And now the LORD shew kindness and truth unto you: and I also will requite you this kindness, because ye have done this thing.
| 6 Ahora, pues, Jehová haga con vosotros misericordia y verdad; y yo también os haré bien por esto que habéis hecho. | 6 So tue nun der HERR an euch Barmherzigkeit und Treue, und auch ich will euch Gutes tun, weil ihr das getan habt. |

Therefore now let your hands be strengthened, and be ye valiant: for your master Saul is dead, and also the house of Judah have anointed me king over them.
| 7 Esfuércense, pues, ahora vuestras manos, y sed valientes; pues muerto Saúl vuestro señor, los de la casa de Judá me han ungido por rey sobre ellos. | 7 Seid nun getrosten Mutes und wackere Männer; denn Saul, euer Herr, ist tot, und mich hat das Haus Juda über sich zum König gesalbt. |

But Abner the son of Ner, captain of Saul's host, took Ish-bosheth the son of Saul, and brought him over to Mahanaim;
| 8 Pero Abner hijo de Ner, general del ejército de Saúl, tomó a Is-boset hijo de Saúl, y lo llevó a Mahanaim, | 8 Abner aber, der Sohn Ners, der Sauls Feldhauptmann war, nahm Isch-Boschet*, Sauls Sohn, und führte ihn nach Mahanajim |

And made him king over Gilead, and over the Ashurites, and over Jezreel, and over Ephraim, and over Benjamin, and over all Israel.
| 9 y lo hizo rey sobre Galaad, sobre Gesuri, sobre Jezreel, sobre Efraín, sobre Benjamín y sobre todo Israel. | 9 und machte ihn zum König über Gilead, Asser, Jesreel, Ephraim, Benjamin und über ganz Israel. |

Ish-bosheth Saul's son was forty years old when he began to reign over Israel, and reigned two years. But the house of Judah followed David.
| 10 De cuarenta años era Is-boset hijo de Saúl cuando comenzó a reinar sobre Israel, y reinó dos años. Solamente los de la casa de Judá siguieron a David. | 10 Und Isch-Boschet, Sauls Sohn, war vierzig Jahre alt, als er König wurde über Israel, und regierte zwei Jahre. Doch das Haus Juda hielt es mit David. |

And the time that David was king in Hebron over the house of Judah was seven years and six months.
| 11 Y fue el número de los días que David reinó en Hebrón sobre la casa de Judá, siete años y seis meses. | 11 Die Zeit aber, die David König war zu Hebron über das Haus Juda, war sieben Jahre und sechs Monate. |

And Abner the son of Ner, and the servants of Ish-bosheth the son of Saul, went out from Mahanaim to Gibeon.
| 12 Abner hijo de Ner salió de Mahanaim a Gabaón con los siervos de Is-boset hijo de Saúl, | 12 Und Abner, der Sohn Ners, zog aus mit den Männern Isch-Boschets, des Sohnes Sauls, von Mahanajim nach Gibeon, |

And Joab the son of Zeruiah, and the servants of David, went out, and met together by the pool of Gibeon: and they sat down, the one on the one side of the pool, and the other on the other side of the pool.
| 13 y Joab hijo de Sarvia y los siervos de David salieron y los encontraron junto al estanque de Gabaón; y se pararon los unos a un lado del estanque, y los otros al otro lado. | 13 und Joab, der Sohn der Zeruja, zog aus mit den Männern Davids. Und sie stießen aufeinander am Teich von Gibeon und lagerten sich, die einen auf dieser Seite des Teiches, die andern auf jener. |

And Abner said to Joab, Let the young men now arise, and play before us. And Joab said, Let them arise.
| 14 Y dijo Abner a Joab: Levántense ahora los jóvenes, y maniobren delante de nosotros. Y Joab respondió: Levántense. | 14 Und Abner sprach zu Joab: Laß die jungen Männer sich aufmachen zum Kampfspiel vor uns! Joab sprach: Es sei! |

Then there arose and went over by number twelve of Benjamin, which pertained to Ish-bosheth the son of Saul, and twelve of the servants of David.
| 15 Entonces se levantaron, y pasaron en número igual, doce de Benjamín por parte de Is-boset hijo de Saúl, y doce de los siervos de David. | 15 Da machten sich auf und gingen hin zwölf an der Zahl aus Benjamin auf der Seite Isch-Boschets, des Sohnes Sauls, und zwölf von den Männern Davids. |

And they caught every one his fellow by the head, and thrust his sword in his fellow's side; so they fell down together: wherefore that place was called Helkath-hazzurim, which is in Gibeon.
| 16 Y cada uno echó mano de la cabeza de su adversario, y metió su espada en el costado de su adversario, y cayeron a una; por lo que fue llamado aquel lugar, Helcat-hazurim, el cual está en Gabaón. | 16 Und ein jeder ergriff den andern bei dem Kopf und stieß ihm sein Schwert in die Seite, und sie fielen miteinander. Daher wird der Ort "Helkat-Hazzurim"* genannt; er liegt bei Gibeon. *d. . "Feld der Felsen", vermutlich verschrieben aus "Feld der Seiten". |

And there was a very sore battle that day; and Abner was beaten, and the men of Israel, before the servants of David.
| 17 La batalla fue muy reñida aquel día, y Abner y los hombres de Israel fueron vencidos por los siervos de David. | 17 Und es erhob sich ein sehr harter Kampf an diesem Tage. Abner aber und die Männer von Israel wurden geschlagen von den Männern Davids. |

And there were three sons of Zeruiah there, Joab, and Abishai, and Asahel: and Asahel was as light of foot as a wild roe.
| 18 Estaban allí los tres hijos de Sarvia: Joab, Abisai y Asael. Este Asael era ligero de pies como una gacela del campo. | 18 Es waren aber die drei Söhne der Zeruja dabei, Joab, Abischai und Asaël. Asaël aber war schnellfüßig wie ein Reh auf dem Felde |

And Asahel pursued after Abner; and in going he turned not to the right hand nor to the left from following Abner.
| 19 Y siguió Asael tras de Abner, sin apartarse ni a derecha ni a izquierda. | 19 und jagte Abner nach und wich nicht von ihm weder zur Rechten noch zur Linken. |

Then Abner looked behind him, and said, Art thou Asahel? And he answered, I am.
| 20 Y miró atrás Abner, y dijo: ¿No eres tú Asael? Y él respondió: Sí. | 20 Da wandte sich Abner um und sprach: Bist du es, Asaël? Er sprach: Ja. |

And Abner said to him, Turn thee aside to thy right hand or to thy left, and lay thee hold on one of the young men, and take thee his armour. But Asahel would not turn aside from following of him.
| 21 Entonces Abner le dijo: Apártate a la derecha o a la izquierda, y echa mano de alguno de los hombres, y toma para ti sus despojos. Pero Asael no quiso apartarse de en pos de él. | 21 Abner sprach zu ihm: Wende dich zur Rechten oder zur Linken und mach dich an einen der Männer heran und nimm ihm seine Waffen. Aber Asaël wollte nicht von ihm ablassen. |

And Abner said again to Asahel, Turn thee aside from following me: wherefore should I smite thee to the ground? how then should I hold up my face to Joab thy brother?
| 22 Y Abner volvió a decir a Asael: Apártate de en pos de mí; ¿por qué he de herirte hasta derribarte? ¿Cómo levantaría yo entonces mi rostro delante de Joab tu hermano? | 22 Da sprach Abner noch einmal zu Asaël: Laß ab von mir! Warum willst du, daß ich dich zu Boden schlage? Wie dürfte ich dann mein Antlitz aufheben vor deinem Bruder Joab? |

Howbeit he refused to turn aside: wherefore Abner with the hinder end of the spear smote him under the fifth rib, that the spear came out behind him; and he fell down there, and died in the same place: and it came to pass, that as many as came to the place where Asahel fell down and died stood still.
| 23 Y no queriendo él irse, lo hirió Abner con el regatón de la lanza por la quinta costilla, y le salió la lanza por la espalda, y cayó allí, y murió en aquel mismo sitio. Y todos los que venían por aquel lugar donde Asael había caído y estaba muerto, se detenían. | 23 Aber er weigerte sich, von ihm abzulassen. Da stieß ihn Abner mit dem Schaft des Spießes in den Leib, so daß der Spieß hinten herauskam; und er fiel hin und starb an eben der Stelle. Und wer an die Stelle kam, wo Asaël tot lag, der blieb stehen. |

Joab also and Abishai pursued after Abner: and the sun went down when they were come to the hill of Ammah, that lieth before Giah by the way of the wilderness of Gibeon.
| 24 Mas Joab y Abisai siguieron a Abner; y se puso el sol cuando llegaron al collado de Amma, que está delante de Gía, junto al camino del desierto de Gabaón. | 24 Aber Joab und Abischai jagten Abner nach, bis die Sonne unterging. Und als sie auf den Hügel Amma kamen, der vor Giach liegt auf dem Wege zur Steppe von Geba, |

And the children of Benjamin gathered themselves together after Abner, and became one troop, and stood on the top of an hill.
| 25 Y se juntaron los hijos de Benjamín en pos de Abner, formando un solo ejército; e hicieron alto en la cumbre del collado. | 25 versammelten sich die Benjaminiter um Abner und bildeten eine Schar und traten oben auf den Hügel. |

Then Abner called to Joab, and said, Shall the sword devour for ever? knowest thou not that it will be bitterness in the latter end? how long shall it be then, ere thou bid the people return from following their brethren?
| 26 Y Abner dio voces a Joab, diciendo: ¿Consumirá la espada perpetuamente? ¿No sabes tú que el final será amargura? ¿Hasta cuándo no dirás al pueblo que se vuelva de perseguir a sus hermanos? | 26 Und Abner rief Joab zu und sprach: Soll denn das Schwert ohne Ende fressen? Weißt du nicht, daß daraus am Ende nur Jammer kommen wird? Wie lange willst du dem Volk nicht sagen, daß es ablassen soll von seinen Brüdern? |

And Joab said, As God liveth, unless thou hadst spoken, surely then in the morning the people had gone up every one from following his brother.
| 27 Y Joab respondió: Vive Dios, que si no hubieses hablado, el pueblo hubiera dejado de seguir a sus hermanos desde esta mañana. | 27 Joab sprach: So wahr Gott lebt: wenn du das eher gesagt hättest, so hätte schon heute morgen jeder im Volk von seinem Bruder abgelassen. |

So Joab blew a trumpet, and all the people stood still, and pursued after Israel no more, neither fought they any more.
| 28 Entonces Joab tocó el cuerno, y todo el pueblo se detuvo, y no persiguió más a los de Israel, ni peleó más. | 28 Und Joab ließ die Posaune blasen, und das ganze Volk stand still und jagte Israel nicht mehr nach und kämpfte auch nicht weiter. |

And Abner and his men walked all that night through the plain, and passed over Jordan, and went through all Bithron, and they came to Mahanaim.
| 29 Y Abner y los suyos caminaron por el Arabá toda aquella noche, y pasando el Jordán cruzaron por todo Bitrón y llegaron a Mahanaim. | 29 Abner aber und seine Männer gingen die ganze Nacht durchs Jordantal und gingen über den Jordan und zogen durchs ganze Bitron, bis sie nach Mahanajim kamen. |

And Joab returned from following Abner: and when he had gathered all the people together, there lacked of David's servants nineteen men and Asahel.
| 30 Joab también volvió de perseguir a Abner, y juntando a todo el pueblo, faltaron de los siervos de David diecinueve hombres y Asael. | 30 Joab aber wandte sich von Abner ab und sammelte das ganze Volk, und es fehlten von den Männern Davids neunzehn Mann und Asaël. |

But the servants of David had smitten of Benjamin, and of Abner's men, so that three hundred and threescore men died.
| 31 Mas los siervos de David hirieron de los de Benjamín y de los de Abner, a trescientos sesenta hombres, los cuales murieron. | 31 Aber die Männer Davids hatten von Benjamin und den Männern Abners dreihundertundsechzig Mann erschlagen. |

And they took up Asahel, and buried him in the sepulchre of his father, which was in Bethlehem. And Joab and his men went all night, and they came to Hebron at break of day. | 32 Tomaron luego a Asael, y lo sepultaron en el sepulcro de su padre en Belén. Y caminaron toda aquella noche Joab y sus hombres, y les amaneció en Hebrón. | 32 Und sie hoben Asaël auf und begruben ihn in seines Vaters Grab in Bethlehem. Und Joab und seine Männer zogen weiter die ganze Nacht, bis ihnen das Tageslicht anbrach in Hebron. |
