Moreover Ahithophel said unto Absalom, Let me now choose out twelve thousand men, and I will arise and pursue after David this night:

And I will come upon him while he is weary and weak handed, and will make him afraid: and all the people that are with him shall flee; and I will smite the king only:
| 2 y caeré sobre él mientras está cansado y débil de manos; lo atemorizaré, y todo el pueblo que está con él huirá, y mataré al rey solo. | 2 und will ihn überfallen, solange er matt und verzagt ist. Wenn ich ihn dann erschrecke und das ganze Kriegsvolk, das bei ihm ist, flieht, will ich den König allein erschlagen |

And I will bring back all the people unto thee: the man whom thou seekest is as if all returned: so all the people shall be in peace.
| 3 Así haré volver a ti todo el pueblo (pues tú buscas solamente la vida de un hombre); y cuando ellos hayan vuelto, todo el pueblo estará en paz. | 3 und das ganze Kriegsvolk zu dir zurückbringen, wie die junge Frau zu ihrem Mann zurückkehrt. Du trachtest ja nur einem Mann nach dem Leben, aber das ganze Volk soll in Frieden bleiben. |

And the saying pleased Absalom well, and all the elders of Israel.
| 4 Este consejo pareció bien a Absalón y a todos los ancianos de Israel. | 4 Die Rede gefiel Absalom gut und allen Ältesten in Israel. |

Then said Absalom, Call now Hushai the Archite also, and let us hear likewise what he saith.
| 5 Y dijo Absalón: Llamad también ahora a Husai arquita, para que asimismo oigamos lo que él dirá. | 5 Aber Absalom sprach: Laßt doch auch Huschai, den Arkiter, rufen und hören, was er dazu sagt. |

And when Hushai was come to Absalom, Absalom spake unto him, saying, Ahithophel hath spoken after this manner: shall we do after his saying? if not; speak thou.
| 6 Cuando Husai vino a Absalón, le habló Absalón, diciendo: Así ha dicho Ahitofel; ¿seguiremos su consejo, o no? Di tú. | 6 Und als Huschai hinein zu Absalom kam, sprach Absalom zu ihm: Das und das hat Ahitofel geredet; sage du, sollen wir's tun oder nicht? |

And Hushai said unto Absalom, The counsel that Ahithophel hath given is not good at this time.
| 7 Entonces Husai dijo a Absalón: El consejo que ha dado esta vez Ahitofel no es bueno. | 7 Da sprach Huschai zu Absalom: Es ist kein guter Rat, den Ahitofel diesmal gegeben hat. |

For, said Hushai, thou knowest thy father and his men, that they be mighty men, and they be chafed in their minds, as a bear robbed of her whelps in the field: and thy father is a man of war, and will not lodge with the people.
| 8 Y añadió Husai: Tú sabes que tu padre y los suyos son hombres valientes, y que están con amargura de ánimo, como la osa en el campo cuando le han quitado sus cachorros. Además, tu padre es hombre de guerra, y no pasará la noche con el pueblo. | 8 Und Huschai sprach weiter: Du kennst deinen Vater und seine Leute, daß sie stark sind und zornigen Gemüts wie eine Bärin auf dem Felde, der die Jungen geraubt sind. Dazu ist dein Vater ein Kriegsmann und wird seinen Leuten keine Nachtruhe gönnen. |

Behold, he is hid now in some pit, or in some other place: and it will come to pass, when some of them be overthrown at the first, that whosoever heareth it will say, There is a slaughter among the people that follow Absalom.
| 9 He aquí él estará ahora escondido en alguna cueva, o en otro lugar; y si al principio cayeren algunos de los tuyos, quienquiera que lo oyere dirá: El pueblo que sigue a Absalón ha sido derrotado. | 9 Siehe, er hat sich jetzt vielleicht verkrochen in irgendeiner Schlucht oder sonst einem Versteck. Wenn's dann geschähe, daß gleich zu Anfang einige unter ihnen fallen, und es käme das Gerücht auf: Das Heer, das Absalom nachfolgt, ist geschlagen worden, |

And he also that is valiant, whose heart is as the heart of a lion, shall utterly melt: for all Israel knoweth that thy father is a mighty man, and they which be with him are valiant men.
| 10 Y aun el hombre valiente, cuyo corazón sea como corazón de león, desmayará por completo; porque todo Israel sabe que tu padre es hombre valiente, y que los que están con él son esforzados. | 10 so würde jedermann verzagt werden, auch wenn er ein Krieger ist und ein Herz hat wie ein Löwe. Denn es weiß ganz Israel, daß dein Vater ein Held ist und seine Leute tapfere Krieger sind. |

Therefore I counsel that all Israel be generally gathered unto thee, from Dan even to Beer-sheba, as the sand that is by the sea for multitude; and that thou go to battle in thine own person.
| 11 Aconsejo, pues, que todo Israel se junte a ti, desde Dan hasta Beerseba, en multitud como la arena que está a la orilla del mar, y que tú en persona vayas a la batalla. | 11 Darum rate ich, daß du zu dir versammelst ganz Israel von Dan bis Beerscheba, so viel wie der Sand am Meer, und daß du selbst mit ihnen ziehst. |

So shall we come upon him in some place where he shall be found, and we will light upon him as the dew falleth on the ground: and of him and of all the men that are with him there shall not be left so much as one.
| 12 Entonces le acometeremos en cualquier lugar en donde se hallare, y caeremos sobre él como cuando el rocío cae sobre la tierra, y ni uno dejaremos de él y de todos los que están con él. | 12 So wollen wir ihn überfallen, wo wir ihn finden, und wollen über ihn kommen, wie der Tau auf die Erde fällt, daß wir von ihm und allen seinen Männern nicht einen einzigen übrig lassen. |

Moreover, if he be gotten into a city, then shall all Israel bring ropes to that city, and we will draw it into the river, until there be not one small stone found there.
| 13 Y si se refugiare en alguna ciudad, todos los de Israel llevarán sogas a aquella ciudad, y la arrastraremos hasta el arroyo, hasta que no se encuentre allí ni una piedra. | 13 Zieht er sich aber in eine Stadt zurück, so soll ganz Israel Stricke an die Stadt legen und sie ins Tal schleifen, so daß man nicht einen Stein mehr dort finde. |

And Absalom and all the men of Israel said, The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel. For the LORD had appointed to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that the LORD might bring evil upon Absalom.
| 14 Entonces Absalón y todos los de Israel dijeron: El consejo de Husai arquita es mejor que el consejo de Ahitofel. Porque Jehová había ordenado que el acertado consejo de Ahitofel se frustrara, para que Jehová hiciese venir el mal sobre Absalón. | 14 Da sprachen Absalom und jedermann in Israel: Der Rat Huschais, des Arkiters, ist besser als Ahitofels Rat. So schickte es der HERR, daß der kluge Rat Ahitofels verhindert wurde, damit der HERR Unheil über Absalom brächte. |

Then said Hushai unto Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, Thus and thus did Ahithophel counsel Absalom and the elders of Israel; and thus and thus have I counselled.
| 15 Dijo luego Husai a los sacerdotes Sadoc y Abiatar: Así y así aconsejó Ahitofel a Absalón y a los ancianos de Israel; y de esta manera aconsejé yo. | 15 Und Huschai sprach zu den Priestern Zadok und Abjatar: So und so hat Ahitofel Absalom und den Ältesten in Israel geraten, ich aber habe so und so geraten. |

Now therefore send quickly, and tell David, saying, Lodge not this night in the plains of the wilderness, but speedily pass over; lest the king be swallowed up, and all the people that are with him.
| 16 Por tanto, enviad inmediatamente y dad aviso a David, diciendo: No te quedes esta noche en los vados del desierto, sino pasa luego el Jordán, para que no sea destruido el rey y todo el pueblo que con él está. | 16 So sendet nun eilends hin und laßt David sagen: Bleibe nicht über Nacht an den Furten der Wüste, sondern geh gleich hinüber, damit der König nicht vernichtet werde und das ganze Volk, das bei ihm ist. |

Now Jonathan and Ahimaaz stayed by En-rogel; for they might not be seen to come into the city: and a wench went and told them; and they went and told king David.
| 17 Y Jonatán y Ahimaas estaban junto a la fuente de Rogel, y fue una criada y les avisó, porque ellos no podían mostrarse viniendo a la ciudad; y ellos fueron y se lo hicieron saber al rey David. | 17 Jonatan aber und Ahimaaz standen bei der Quelle Rogel; und eine Magd ging von Zeit zu Zeit hin und brachte ihnen Nachricht, die sie dem König David weitersagten; denn sie durften sich in der Stadt nicht sehen lassen. |

Nevertheless a lad saw them, and told Absalom: but they went both of them away quickly, and came to a man's house in Bahurim, which had a well in his court; whither they went down.
| 18 Pero fueron vistos por un joven, el cual lo hizo saber a Absalón; sin embargo, los dos se dieron prisa a caminar, y llegaron a casa de un hombre en Bahurim, que tenía en su patio un pozo, dentro del cual se metieron. | 18 Es sah sie aber ein Knabe und sagte es Absalom an. Da gingen die beiden eilends fort und kamen in das Haus eines Mannes in Bahurim; der hatte einen Brunnen in seinem Hofe. Dahinein stiegen sie. |

And the woman took and spread a covering over the well's mouth, and spread ground corn thereon; and the thing was not known.
| 19 Y tomando la mujer de la casa una manta, la extendió sobre la boca del pozo, y tendió sobre ella el grano trillado; y nada se supo del asunto. | 19 Und die Frau nahm eine Decke und breitete sie über das Brunnenloch und schüttete Körner darüber, so daß man nichts merkte. |

And when Absalom's servants came to the woman to the house, they said, Where is Ahimaaz and Jonathan? And the woman said unto them, They be gone over the brook of water. And when they had sought and could not find them, they returned to Jerusalem.
| 20 Llegando luego los criados de Absalón a la casa de la mujer, le dijeron: ¿Dónde están Ahimaas y Jonatán? Y la mujer les respondió: Ya han pasado el vado de las aguas. Y como ellos los buscaron y no los hallaron, volvieron a Jerusalén. | 20 Als nun die Leute Absaloms zu der Frau ins Haus kamen, sprachen sie: Wo sind Ahimaaz und Jonatan? Sie sprach zu ihnen: Sie gingen weiter zum Wasser. Und als die Leute Absaloms sie suchten und nicht fanden, kehrten sie nach Jerusalem zurück. |

And it came to pass, after they were departed, that they came up out of the well, and went and told king David, and said unto David, Arise, and pass quickly over the water: for thus hath Ahithophel counselled against you.
| 21 Y después que se hubieron ido, aquéllos salieron del pozo y se fueron, y dieron aviso al rey David, diciéndole: Levantaos y daos prisa a pasar las aguas, porque Ahitofel ha dado tal consejo contra vosotros. | 21 Und als sie weg waren, stiegen jene aus dem Brunnen und gingen hin und sagten's dem König David an und sprachen zu David: Macht euch auf und geht eilends über den Fluß, denn Ahitofel hat gegen euch den und den Rat gegeben. |

Then David arose, and all the people that were with him, and they passed over Jordan: by the morning light there lacked not one of them that was not gone over Jordan.
| 22 Entonces David se levantó, y todo el pueblo que con él estaba, y pasaron el Jordán antes que amaneciese; ni siquiera faltó uno que no pasase el Jordán. | 22 Da machte sich David auf und das ganze Volk, das bei ihm war, und sie gingen über den Jordan, und als es lichter Morgen wurde, fehlte nicht ein einziger, der nicht über den Jordan gegangen war. |

And when Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not followed, he saddled his ass, and arose, and gat him home to his house, to his city, and put his household in order, and hanged himself, and died, and was buried in the sepulchre of his father.
| 23 Pero Ahitofel, viendo que no se había seguido su consejo, enalbardó su asno, y se levantó y se fue a su casa a su ciudad; y después de poner su casa en orden, se ahorcó, y así murió, y fue sepultado en el sepulcro de su padre. | 23 Als aber Ahitofel sah, daß sein Rat nicht ausgeführt wurde, sattelte er seinen Esel, machte sich auf und zog heim in seine Stadt und bestellte sein Haus und erhängte sich und starb und wurde begraben in seines Vaters Grab. |

Then David came to Mahanaim. And Absalom passed over Jordan, he and all the men of Israel with him.
| 24 Y David llegó a Mahanaim; y Absalón pasó el Jordán con toda la gente de Israel. | 24 Und David kam nach Mahanajim. Aber Absalom zog über den Jordan und alle Männer Israels mit ihm. |

And Absalom made Amasa captain of the host instead of Joab: which Amasa was a man's son, whose name was Ithra an Israelite, that went in to Abigail the daughter of Nahash, sister to Zeruiah Joab's mother.
| 25 Y Absalón nombró a Amasa jefe del ejército en lugar de Joab. Amasa era hijo de un varón de Israel llamado Itra, el cual se había llegado a Abigail hija de Nahas, hermana de Sarvia madre de Joab. | 25 Und Absalom hatte Amasa an Joabs Statt über das Heer gesetzt. Amasa aber war der Sohn eines Mannes mit Namen Jeter, eines Israeliters, der zu Abigal, der Tochter des Nahasch, eingegangen war; diese war eine Schwester der Zeruja, Joabs Mutter. |

So Israel and Absalom pitched in the land of Gilead.

And it came to pass, when David was come to Mahanaim, that Shobi the son of Nahash of Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and Machir the son of Ammiel of Lo-debar, and Barzillai the Gileadite of Rogelim,
| 27 Luego que David llegó a Mahanaim, Sobi hijo de Nahas, de Rabá de los hijos de Amón, Maquir hijo de Amiel, de Lodebar, y Barzilai galaadita de Rogelim, | 27 Als David nach Mahanajim gekommen war, da brachten Schobi, der Sohn des Nahasch von Rabba, der Stadt der Ammoniter, und Machir, der Soh Ammïls von Lo-Dabar, und Barsillai, ein Gileaditer von Roglim, |

Brought beds, and basons, and earthen vessels, and wheat, and barley, and flour, and parched corn, and beans, and lentiles, and parched pulse,

And honey, and butter, and sheep, and cheese of kine, for David, and for the people that were with him, to eat: for they said, The people is hungry, and weary, and thirsty, in the wilderness. | 29 miel, manteca, ovejas, y quesos de vaca, para que comiesen; porque decían: El pueblo está hambriento y cansado y sediento en el desierto. | 29 Honig, Butter, Kuh- und Schafkäse, um David und das Volk, das bei ihm war, zu stärken. Denn sie dachten: Das Volk wird hungrig, müde und durstig geworden sein in der Wüste. |
