Now Joab the son of Zeruiah perceived that the king's heart was toward Absalom.
| 1 Conociendo Joab hijo de Sarvia que el corazón del rey se inclinaba por Absalón, | 1 Joab aber, der Sohn der Zeruja, merkte, daß des Königs Herz an Absalom hing, |

And Joab sent to Tekoah, and fetched thence a wise woman, and said unto her, I pray thee, feign thyself to be a mourner, and put on now mourning apparel, and anoint not thyself with oil, but be as a woman that had a long time mourned for the dead:
| 2 envió Joab a Tecoa, y tomó de allá una mujer astuta, y le dijo: Yo te ruego que finjas estar de duelo, y te vistas ropas de luto, y no te unjas con óleo, sino preséntate como una mujer que desde mucho tiempo está de duelo por algún muerto; | 2 und sandte hin nach Tekoa und ließ von dort eine kluge Frau holen und sprach zu ihr: Stelle dich wie eine Trauernde und zieh Trauerkleider an und salbe dich nicht mit Öl, sondern stelle dich wie ein Weib, das eine lange Zeit Leid getragen hat um einen Toten. |

And come to the king, and speak on this manner unto him. So Joab put the words in her mouth.
| 3 y entrarás al rey, y le hablarás de esta manera. Y puso Joab las palabras en su boca. | 3 Und du sollst zum König hineingehen und mit ihm reden so und so. Und Joab legte ihr die Worte in den Mund, die sie reden sollte. |

And when the woman of Tekoah spake to the king, she fell on her face to the ground, and did obeisance, and said, Help, O king.
| 4 Entró, pues, aquella mujer de Tecoa al rey, y postrándose en tierra sobre su rostro, hizo reverencia, y dijo: ˇSocorro, oh rey! | 4 Und als die Frau aus Tekoa zum König kam, fiel sie auf ihr Antlitz zur Erde und huldigte ihm und sprach: Hilf mir, König! |

And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, I am indeed a widow woman, and mine husband is dead.
| 5 El rey le dijo: żQué tienes? Y ella respondió: Yo a la verdad soy una mujer viuda y mi marido ha muerto. | 5 Der König sprach zu ihr: Was hast du? Sie sprach: Ach, ich bin eine Witwe, und mein Mann ist gestorben. |

And thy handmaid had two sons, and they two strove together in the field, and there was none to part them, but the one smote the other, and slew him.
| 6 Tu sierva tenía dos hijos, y los dos rińeron en el campo; y no habiendo quien los separase, hirió el uno al otro, y lo mató. | 6 Und deine Magd hatte zwei Söhne, die zankten miteinander auf dem Felde, und weil keiner da war, der zwischen ihnen schlichtete, schlug der eine seinen Bruder nieder und tötete ihn. |

And, behold, the whole family is risen against thine handmaid, and they said, Deliver him that smote his brother, that we may kill him, for the life of his brother whom he slew; and we will destroy the heir also: and so they shall quench my coal which is left, and shall not leave to my husband neither name nor remainder upon the earth.
| 7 Y he aquí toda la familia se ha levantado contra tu sierva, diciendo: Entrega al que mató a su hermano, para que le hagamos morir por la vida de su hermano a quien él mató, y matemos también al heredero. Así apagarán el ascua que me ha quedado, no dejando a mi marido nombre ni reliquia sobre la tierra. | 7 Und siehe, nun steht die ganze Sippe auf gegen deine Magd, und sie sagen: Gib den her, der seinen Bruder erschlagen hat, damit wir ihn töten für das Leben seines Bruders, den er umgebracht hat; so wollen sie auch den Erben vertilgen und den Funken auslöschen, der mir noch übriggeblieben ist, so daß meinem Mann kein Name und kein Nachkomme bleibt auf Erden. |

And the king said unto the woman, Go to thine house, and I will give charge concerning thee.
| 8 Entonces el rey dijo a la mujer: Vete a tu casa, y yo daré órdenes con respecto a ti. | 8 Der König sprach zu der Frau: Geh heim, ich will die Sache für dich ordnen. |

And the woman of Tekoah said unto the king, My lord, O king, the iniquity be on me, and on my father's house: and the king and his throne be guiltless.
| 9 Y la mujer de Tecoa dijo al rey: Rey seńor mío, la maldad sea sobre mí y sobre la casa de mi padre; mas el rey y su trono sean sin culpa. | 9 Und die Frau aus Tekoa sprach zum König: Mein Herr und König, die Schuld wird man auf mich und meines Vaters Haus legen, den König aber und seinen Thron ohne Schuld sein lassen. |

And the king said, Whosoever saith ought unto thee, bring him to me, and he shall not touch thee any more.
| 10 Y el rey dijo: Al que hablare contra ti, tráelo a mí, y no te tocará más. | 10 Der König sprach: Wer gegen dich redet, den bringe zu mir; er soll dich nicht mehr antasten. |

Then said she, I pray thee, let the king remember the LORD thy God, that thou wouldest not suffer the revengers of blood to destroy any more, lest they destroy my son. And he said, As the LORD liveth, there shall not one hair of thy son fall to the earth.
| 11 Dijo ella entonces: Te ruego, oh rey, que te acuerdes de Jehová tu Dios, para que el vengador de la sangre no aumente el dańo, y no destruya a mi hijo. Y el respondió: Vive Jehová, que no caerá ni un cabello de la cabeza de tu hijo en tierra. | 11 Sie sprach: Der König möge doch den Namen des HERRN, seines Gottes, nennen, damit der Bluträcher nicht noch mehr Verderben anrichte und sie meinen Sohn nicht vertilgen. Er sprach: So wahr der HERR lebt: es soll kein Haar von deinem Sohn auf die Erde fallen. |

Then the woman said, Let thine handmaid, I pray thee, speak one word unto my lord the king. And he said, Say on.
| 12 Y la mujer dijo: Te ruego que permitas que tu sierva hable una palabra a mi seńor el rey. Y él dijo: Habla. | 12 Und die Frau sprach: Laß deine Magd meinem Herrn und König etwas sagen. Er sprach: Sage an! |

And the woman said, Wherefore then hast thou thought such a thing against the people of God? for the king doth speak this thing as one which is faulty, in that the king doth not fetch home again his banished.
| 13 Entonces la mujer dijo: żPor qué, pues, has pensado tú cosa semejante contra el pueblo de Dios? Porque hablando el rey esta palabra, se hace culpable él mismo, por cuanto el rey no hace volver a su desterrado. | 13 Die Frau sprach: Warum bist du so gesinnt gegen Gottes Volk? Denn da der König nun ein solches Urteil gefällt hat, ist er wie ein Schuldiger, wenn er den nicht zurückholen läßt, den er verstoßen hat. |

For we must needs die, and are as water spilt on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again; neither doth God respect any person: yet doth he devise means, that his banished be not expelled from him.
| 14 Porque de cierto morimos, y somos como aguas derramadas por tierra, que no pueden volver a recogerse; ni Dios quita la vida, sino que provee medios para no alejar de sí al desterrado. | 14 Denn wir sterben des Todes und sind wie Wasser, das auf die Erde gegossen wird und das man nicht wieder sammeln kann; aber Gott will nicht das Leben wegnehmen, sondern er ist darauf bedacht, daß das Verstoßene nicht auch von ihm verstoßen werde. |

Now therefore that I am come to speak of this thing unto my lord the king, it is because the people have made me afraid: and thy handmaid said, I will now speak unto the king; it may be that the king will perform the request of his handmaid.
| 15 Y el haber yo venido ahora para decir esto al rey mi seńor, es porque el pueblo me atemorizó; y tu sierva dijo: Hablaré ahora al rey; quizá él hará lo que su sierva diga. | 15 So bin ich nun gekommen, mit meinem Herrn und König solches zu reden; denn das Volk macht mir angst. Deine Magd dachte: Ich will mit dem König reden; vielleicht wird er tun, was seine Magd sagt. |

For the king will hear, to deliver his handmaid out of the hand of the man that would destroy me and my son together out of the inheritance of God.
| 16 Pues el rey oirá, para librar a su sierva de mano del hombre que me quiere destruir a mí y a mi hijo juntamente, de la heredad de Dios. | 16 Denn der König wird seine Magd erhören, daß er mich errette aus der Hand aller, die mich samt meinem Sohn vertilgen wollen vom Erbe Gottes. |

Then thine handmaid said, The word of my lord the king shall now be comfortable: for as an angel of God, so is my lord the king to discern good and bad: therefore the LORD thy God will be with thee.
| 17 Tu sierva, pues, dice: Sea ahora de consuelo la respuesta de mi seńor el rey, pues que mi seńor el rey es como un ángel de Dios para discernir entre lo bueno y lo malo. Así Jehová tu Dios sea contigo. | 17 Und deine Magd dachte: Meines Herrn, des Königs, Wort soll mir ein Trost sein; denn mein Herr, der König, ist wie der Engel Gottes, daß er Gutes und Böses unterscheiden kann. Der HERR, dein Gott, möge mit dir sein! |

Then the king answered and said unto the woman, Hide not from me, I pray thee, the thing that I shall ask thee. And the woman said, Let my lord the king now speak.
| 18 Entonces David respondió y dijo a la mujer: Yo te ruego que no me encubras nada de lo que yo te preguntare. Y la mujer dijo: Hable mi seńor el rey. | 18 Der König antwortete und sprach zu der Frau: Verhehle mir nicht, was ich dich frage. Die Frau sprach: Mein Herr, der König, rede! |

And the king said, Is not the hand of Joab with thee in all this? And the woman answered and said, As thy soul liveth, my lord the king, none can turn to the right hand or to the left from ought that my lord the king hath spoken: for thy servant Joab, he bade me, and he put all these words in the mouth of thine handmaid:
| 19 Y el rey dijo: żNo anda la mano de Joab contigo en todas estas cosas? La mujer respondió y dijo: Vive tu alma, rey seńor mío, que no hay que apartarse a derecha ni a izquierda de todo lo que mi seńor el rey ha hablado; porque tu siervo Joab, él me mandó, y él puso en boca de tu sierva todas estas palabras. | 19 Der König sprach: Ist nicht die Hand Joabs mit dir in alledem? Die Frau antwortete: So wahr du lebst, mein Herr und König: man kann nicht vorüber an dem, was mein Herr und König geredet hat, weder zur Rechten noch zur Linken. Ja, dein Knecht Joab hat mir's geboten, und er hat alle diese Worte deiner Magd in den Mund gelegt. |

To fetch about this form of speech hath thy servant Joab done this thing: and my lord is wise, according to the wisdom of an angel of God, to know all things that are in the earth.
| 20 Para mudar el aspecto de las cosas Joab tu siervo ha hecho esto; pero mi seńor es sabio conforme a la sabiduría de un ángel de Dios, para conocer lo que hay en la tierra. | 20 Daß ich diese Sache so wenden sollte, das hat dein Knecht Joab gemacht. Aber mein Herr gleicht an Weisheit dem Engel Gottes, so daß er alles weiß, was auf Erden geschieht. |

And the king said unto Joab, Behold now, I have done this thing: go therefore, bring the young man Absalom again.
| 21 Entonces el rey dijo a Joab: He aquí yo hago esto; ve, y haz volver al joven Absalón. | 21 Da sprach der König zu Joab: Siehe, ich will es tun; so geh hin und bringe meinen Sohn Absalom zurück. |

And Joab fell to the ground on his face, and bowed himself, and thanked the king: and Joab said, To day thy servant knoweth that I have found grace in thy sight, my lord, O king, in that the king hath fulfilled the request of his servant.
| 22 Y Joab se postró en tierra sobre su rostro e hizo reverencia, y después que bendijo al rey, dijo: Hoy ha entendido tu siervo que he hallado gracia en tus ojos, rey seńor mío, pues ha hecho el rey lo que su siervo ha dicho. | 22 Da fiel Joab auf sein Antlitz zur Erde, huldigte und dankte dem König und sprach: Heute erkennt dein Knecht, daß ich Gnade gefunden habe vor deinen Augen, mein Herr und König, da der König tut, was sein Knecht sagt. |

So Joab arose and went to Geshur, and brought Absalom to Jerusalem.
| 23 Se levantó luego Joab y fue a Gesur, y trajo a Absalón a Jerusalén. | 23 So machte sich Joab auf und zog nach Geschur und brachte Absalom nach Jerusalem. |

And the king said, Let him turn to his own house, and let him not see my face. So Absalom returned to his own house, and saw not the king's face.
| 24 Mas el rey dijo: Váyase a su casa, y no vea mi rostro. Y volvió Absalón a su casa, y no vio el rostro del rey. | 24 Aber der König sprach: Laß ihn wieder in sein Haus gehen, doch mein Angesicht soll er nicht sehen. So kam Absalom wieder in sein Haus, doch des Königs Angesicht sah er nicht. |

But in all Israel there was none to be so much praised as Absalom for his beauty: from the sole of his foot even to the crown of his head there was no blemish in him.
| 25 Y no había en todo Israel ninguno tan alabado por su hermosura como Absalón; desde la planta de su pie hasta su coronilla no había en él defecto. | 25 Es war aber in ganz Israel kein Mann so schön wie Absalom, und er hatte dieses Lob vor allen; von der Fußsohle bis zum Scheitel war nicht ein Fehl an ihm. |

And when he polled his head, (for it was at every year's end that he polled it: because the hair was heavy on him, therefore he polled it:) he weighed the hair of his head at two hundred shekels after the king's weight.
| 26 Cuando se cortaba el cabello (lo cual hacía al fin de cada ańo, pues le causaba molestia, y por eso se lo cortaba), pesaba el cabello de su cabeza doscientos siclos de peso real. | 26 Und wenn man sein Haupt schor - das geschah alle Jahre, denn es war ihm zu schwer, so daß man es abscheren mußte -, so wog sein Haupthaar zweihundert Lot nach dem königlichen Gewicht. |

And unto Absalom there were born three sons, and one daughter, whose name was Tamar: she was a woman of a fair countenance.
| 27 Y le nacieron a Absalón tres hijos, y una hija que se llamó Tamar, la cual era mujer de hermoso semblante. | 27 Und Absalom wurden drei Söhne geboren und eine Tochter, die hieß Tamar, und sie war ein schönes Mädchen. |

So Absalom dwelt two full years in Jerusalem, and saw not the king's face.
| 28 Y estuvo Absalón por espacio de dos ańos en Jerusalén, y no vio el rostro del rey. | 28 Und Absalom wohnte zwei Jahre in Jerusalem, ohne des Königs Angesicht zu sehen. |

Therefore Absalom sent for Joab, to have sent him to the king; but he would not come to him: and when he sent again the second time, he would not come.
| 29 Y mandó Absalón por Joab, para enviarlo al rey, pero él no quiso venir; y envió aun por segunda vez, y no quiso venir. | 29 Und Absalom sandte zu Joab, um ihn zum König zu senden; aber Joab wollte nicht zu ihm kommen. Er aber sandte zum zweitenmal; aber er wollte immer noch nicht kommen. |

Therefore he said unto his servants, See, Joab's field is near mine, and he hath barley there; go and set it on fire. And Absalom's servants set the field on fire.
| 30 Entonces dijo a sus siervos: Mirad, el campo de Joab está junto al mío, y tiene allí cebada; id y prendedle fuego. Y los siervos de Absalón prendieron fuego al campo. | 30 Da sprach er zu seinen Knechten: Seht das Stück Acker Joabs neben meinem; er hat Gerste darauf. So geht hin und steckt's in Brand. Da steckten die Knechte Absaloms das Stück in Brand. |

Then Joab arose, and came to Absalom unto his house, and said unto him, Wherefore have thy servants set my field on fire?
| 31 Entonces se levantó Joab y vino a casa de Absalón, y le dijo: żPor qué han prendido fuego tus siervos a mi campo? | 31 Da machte sich Joab auf und kam zu Absalom ins Haus und sprach zu ihm: Warum haben deine Knechte mein Feld in Brand gesteckt? |

And Absalom answered Joab, Behold, I sent unto thee, saying, Come hither, that I may send thee to the king, to say, Wherefore am I come from Geshur? it had been good for me to have been there still: now therefore let me see the king's face; and if there be any iniquity in me, let him kill me.
| 32 Y Absalón respondió a Joab: He aquí yo he enviado por ti, diciendo que vinieses acá, con el fin de enviarte al rey para decirle: żPara qué vine de Gesur? Mejor me fuera estar aún allá. Vea yo ahora el rostro del rey; y si hay en mí pecado, máteme. | 32 Absalom sprach zu Joab: Siehe, ich sandte zu dir und ließ dir sagen: Komm her, damit ich dich zum König sende und fragen lasse: Warum bin ich von Geschur hierher gekommen? Es wäre mir besser, daß ich noch dort wäre. So laß mich nun das Angesicht des Königs sehen; liegt aber eine Schuld auf mir, so soll er mich töten. |

So Joab came to the king, and told him: and when he had called for Absalom, he came to the king, and bowed himself on his face to the ground before the king: and the king kissed Absalom. | 33 Vino, pues, Joab al rey, y se lo hizo saber. Entonces llamó a Absalón, el cual vino al rey, e inclinó su rostro a tierra delante del rey; y el rey besó a Absalón. | 33 Und Joab ging hinein zum König und sagte es ihm an. Und er rief Absalom, daß er hinein zum König kam; und er fiel nieder vor dem König auf sein Antlitz zur Erde, und der König küßte Absalom. |
