And it came to pass, after the year was expired, at the time when kings go forth to battle, that David sent Joab, and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the children of Ammon, and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried still at Jerusalem.
| 1 Aconteció al año siguiente, en el tiempo que salen los reyes a la guerra, que David envió a Joab, y con él a sus siervos y a todo Israel, y destruyeron a los amonitas, y sitiaron a Rabá; pero David se quedó en Jerusalén. | 1 Und als das Jahr um war, zur Zeit, da die Könige ins Feld zu ziehen pflegen, sandte David Joab und seine Männer mit ihm und ganz Israel, damit sie das Land der Ammoniter verheerten und Rabba belagerten. David aber blieb in Jerusalem. |

And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king's house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon.
| 2 Y sucedió un día, al caer la tarde, que se levantó David de su lecho y se paseaba sobre el terrado de la casa real; y vio desde el terrado a una mujer que se estaba bañando, la cual era muy hermosa. | 2 Und es begab sich, daß David um den Abend aufstand von seinem Lager und sich auf dem Dach des Königshauses erging; da sah er vom Dach aus eine Frau sich waschen; und die Frau war von sehr schöner Gestalt. |

And David sent and enquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bath-sheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?
| 3 Envió David a preguntar por aquella mujer, y le dijeron: Aquella es Betsabé hija de Eliam, mujer de Urías heteo. | 3 Und David sandte hin und ließ nach der Frau fragen, und man sagte: Das ist doch Batseba, die Tochter Eliams, die Frau Urias, des Hetiters. |

And David sent messengers, and took her; and she came in unto him, and he lay with her; for she was purified from her uncleanness: and she returned unto her house.
| 4 Y envió David mensajeros, y la tomó; y vino a él, y él durmió con ella. Luego ella se purificó de su inmundicia, y se volvió a su casa. | 4 Und David sandte Boten hin und ließ sie holen. And the woman conceived, and sent and told David, and said, I am with child.
| 5 Y concibió la mujer, y envió a hacerlo saber a David, diciendo: Estoy encinta. | 5 Und die Frau ward schwanger und sandte hin und ließ David sagen: Ich bin schwanger geworden. |

And David sent to Joab, saying, Send me Uriah the Hittite. And Joab sent Uriah to David.

And when Uriah was come unto him, David demanded of him how Joab did, and how the people did, and how the war prospered.

And David said to Uriah, Go down to thy house, and wash thy feet. And Uriah departed out of the king's house, and there followed him a mess of meat from the king.

Y saliendo Urías de la casa del rey, le fue enviado presente de la mesa real. | 8 Und David sprach zu Uria: Geh hinab in dein Haus und wasch deine Füße. But Uriah slept at the door of the king's house with all the servants of his lord, and went not down to his house.
| 9 Mas Urías durmió a la puerta de la casa del rey con todos los siervos de su señor, y no descendió a su casa. | 9 Aber Uria legte sich schlafen vor der Tür des Königshauses, wo alle Kriegsleute seines Herrn lagen, und ging nicht hinab in sein Haus. |

And when they had told David, saying, Uriah went not down unto his house, David said unto Uriah, Camest thou not from thy journey? why then didst thou not go down unto thine house?
| 10 E hicieron saber esto a David, diciendo: Urías no ha descendido a su casa. Y dijo David a Urías: ¿No has venido de camino? ¿Por qué, pues, no descendiste a tu casa? | 10 Als man aber David ansagte: Uria ist nicht hinab in sein Haus gegangen, sprach David zu ihm: Bist du nicht von weither gekommen? Warum bist du nicht hinab in dein Haus gegangen? |

And Uriah said unto David, The ark, and Israel, and Judah, abide in tents; and my lord Joab, and the servants of my lord, are encamped in the open fields; shall I then go into mine house, to eat and to drink, and to lie with my wife? as thou livest, and as thy soul liveth, I will not do this thing.
| 11 Y Urías respondió a David: El arca e Israel y Judá están bajo tiendas, y mi señor Joab, y los siervos de mi señor, en el campo; ¿y había yo de entrar en mi casa para comer y beber, y a dormir con mi mujer? Por vida tuya, y por vida de tu alma, que yo no haré tal cosa. | 11 Uria aber sprach zu David: Die Lade und Israel und Juda wohnen in Zelten, und Joab, mein Herr, und meines Herrn Kriegsleute liegen auf freiem Felde, und ich sollte in mein Haus gehen, um zu essen und zu trinken und bei meinem Weibe zu liegen? So wahr der HERR lebt und so wahr du lebst: ich tue so etwas nicht. |

And David said to Uriah, Tarry here to day also, and to morrow I will let thee depart. So Uriah abode in Jerusalem that day, and the morrow.
| 12 Y David dijo a Urías: Quédate aquí aún hoy, y mañana te despacharé. Y se quedó Urías en Jerusalén aquel día y el siguiente. | 12 David sprach zu Uria: Bleib heute hier, morgen will ich dich gehen lassen. So blieb Uria in Jerusalem an diesem Tage und auch am nächsten. |

And when David had called him, he did eat and drink before him; and he made him drunk: and at even he went out to lie on his bed with the servants of his lord, but went not down to his house.
| 13 Y David lo convidó a comer y a beber con él, hasta embriagarlo. Y él salió a la tarde a dormir en su cama con los siervos de su señor; mas no descendió a su casa. | 13 Und David lud ihn ein, so daß er bei ihm aß und trank, und machte ihn betrunken. Aber am Abend ging er hinaus, um sich schlafen zu legen auf sein Lager bei den Männern seines Herrn, und ging nicht hinab in sein Haus. |

And it came to pass in the morning, that David wrote a letter to Joab, and sent it by the hand of Uriah.
| 14 Venida la mañana, escribió David a Joab una carta, la cual envió por mano de Urías. | 14 Am andern Morgen schrieb David einen Brief an Joab und sandte ihn durch Uria. |

And he wrote in the letter, saying, Set ye Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire ye from him, that he may be smitten, and die.
| 15 Y escribió en la carta, diciendo: Poned a Urías al frente, en lo más recio de la batalla, y retiraos de él, para que sea herido y muera. | 15 Er schrieb aber in dem Brief: Stellt Uria vornehin, wo der Kampf am härtesten ist, und zieht euch hinter ihm zurück, daß er erschlagen werde und sterbe. |

And it came to pass, when Joab observed the city, that he assigned Uriah unto a place where he knew that valiant men were.
| 16 Así fue que cuando Joab sitió la ciudad, puso a Urías en el lugar donde sabía que estaban los hombres más valientes. | 16 Als nun Joab die Stadt belagerte, stellte er Uria dorthin, wo er wußte, daß streitbare Männer standen. |

And the men of the city went out, and fought with Joab: and there fell some of the people of the servants of David; and Uriah the Hittite died also.
| 17 Y saliendo luego los de la ciudad, pelearon contra Joab, y cayeron algunos del ejército de los siervos de David; y murió también Urías heteo. | 17 Und als die Männer der Stadt einen Ausfall machten und mit Joab kämpften, fielen einige vom Volk, von den Männern Davids, und Uria, der Hetiter, starb auch. |

Then Joab sent and told David all the things concerning the war;
| 18 Entonces envió Joab e hizo saber a David todos los asuntos de la guerra. | 18 Da sandte Joab hin und ließ David alles sagen, was sich bei dem Kampf begeben hatte, |

And charged the messenger, saying, When thou hast made an end of telling the matters of the war unto the king,
| 19 Y mandó al mensajero, diciendo: Cuando acabes de contar al rey todos los asuntos de la guerra, | 19 und gebot dem Boten: Wenn du dem König alles bis zu Ende gesagt hast, was sich bei dem Kampf begeben hat, |

And if so be that the king's wrath arise, and he say unto thee, Wherefore approached ye so nigh unto the city when ye did fight? knew ye not that they would shoot from the wall?
| 20 si el rey comenzare a enojarse, y te dijere: ¿Por qué os acercasteis demasiado a la ciudad para combatir? ¿No sabíais lo que suelen arrojar desde el muro? | 20 und siehst, daß der König zornig wird und zu dir spricht: Warum seid ihr so nahe an die Stadt herangerückt im Kampf? Wißt ihr nicht, daß von der Mauer geschossen wird? |

Who smote Abimelech the son of Jerubbesheth? did not a woman cast a piece of a millstone upon him from the wall, that he died in Thebez? why went ye nigh the wall? then say thou, Thy servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also.
| 21 ¿Quién hirió a Abimelec hijo de Jerobaal? ¿No echó una mujer del muro un pedazo de una rueda de molino, y murió en Tebes? ¿Por qué os acercasteis tanto al muro? Entonces tú le dirás: También tu siervo Urías heteo es muerto. | 21 Wer erschlug Abimelech, den Sohn Jerubbaals? Warf nicht ein Weib einen Mühlstein auf ihn von der Mauer, so daß er in Tebez starb? Warum seid ihr so nahe an die Mauer herangerückt?, - so sollst du sagen: Auch dein Knecht Uria, der Hetiter, ist tot. |

So the messenger went, and came and shewed David all that Joab had sent him for.
| 22 Fue el mensajero, y llegando, contó a David todo aquello a que Joab le había enviado. | 22 Der Bote ging hin und kam und sagte David alles, weswegen Joab ihn gesandt hatte. |

And the messenger said unto David, Surely the men prevailed against us, and came out unto us into the field, and we were upon them even unto the entering of the gate.
| 23 Y dijo el mensajero a David: Prevalecieron contra nosotros los hombres que salieron contra nosotros al campo, bien que nosotros les hicimos retroceder hasta la entrada de la puerta; | 23 Und der Bote sprach zu David: Die Männer waren uns übermächtig und zogen heraus aufs Feld gegen uns; wir aber gingen gegen sie an bis an den Eingang des Tores. |

And the shooters shot from off the wall upon thy servants; and some of the king's servants be dead, and thy servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also.
| 24 pero los flecheros tiraron contra tus siervos desde el muro, y murieron algunos de los siervos del rey; y murió también tu siervo Urías heteo. | 24 Und die Schützen schossen von der Mauer auf deine Knechte und töteten einige von den Männern des Königs, und auch Uria, dein Knecht, der Hetiter, ist tot. |

Then David said unto the messenger, Thus shalt thou say unto Joab, Let not this thing displease thee, for the sword devoureth one as well as another: make thy battle more strong against the city, and overthrow it: and encourage thou him.
| 25 Y David dijo al mensajero: Así dirás a Joab: No tengas pesar por esto, porque la espada consume, ora a uno, ora a otro; refuerza tu ataque contra la ciudad, hasta que la rindas. Y tú aliéntale. | 25 David sprach zum Boten: So sollst du Joab sagen: "Laß dir das nicht leid sein, denn das Schwert frißt bald diesen, bald jenen. Fahre fort mit dem Kampf gegen die Stadt und zerstöre sie. " So sollst du ihm Mut zusprechen. |

And when the wife of Uriah heard that Uriah her husband was dead, she mourned for her husband.
| 26 Oyendo la mujer de Urías que su marido Urías era muerto, hizo duelo por su marido. | 26 Und als Urias Frau hörte, daß ihr Mann Uria tot war, hielt sie die Totenklage um ihren Eheherrn. |

And when the mourning was past, David sent and fetched her to his house, and she became his wife, and bare him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased the LORD. | 27 Y pasado el luto, envió David y la trajo a su casa; y fue ella su mujer, y le dio a luz un hijo. Mas esto que David había hecho, fue desagradable ante los ojos de Jehová. | 27 Sobald sie aber ausgetrauert hatte, sandte David hin und ließ sie in sein Haus holen, und sie wurde seine Frau und gebar ihm einen Sohn. Aber dem HERRN mißfiel die Tat, die David getan hatte. |
