Now Jehoram the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria the eighteenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigned twelve years.

And he wrought evil in the sight of the LORD; but not like his father, and like his mother: for he put away the image of Baal that his father had made.

Nevertheless he cleaved unto the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which made Israel to sin; he departed not therefrom.

And Mesha king of Moab was a sheepmaster, and rendered unto the king of Israel an hundred thousand lambs, and an hundred thousand rams, with the wool.

But it came to pass, when Ahab was dead, that the king of Moab rebelled against the king of Israel.

And king Jehoram went out of Samaria the same time, and numbered all Israel.

And he went and sent to Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, saying, The king of Moab hath rebelled against me: wilt thou go with me against Moab to battle? And he said, I will go up: I am as thou art, my people as thy people, and my horses as thy horses.
| 7 Y fue y envió a decir a Josafat rey de Judá: El rey de Moab se ha rebelado contra mí: ¿irás tú conmigo a la guerra contra Moab? Y él respondió: Iré, porque yo soy como tú; mi pueblo como tu pueblo, y mis caballos como los tuyos. | 7 und sandte hin zu Joschafat, dem König von Juda, und ließ ihm sagen: Der König der Moabiter ist von mir abgefallen; komm mit mir, um gegen die Moabiter zu kämpfen! Er sprach: Ich will kommen; ich bin wie du, und mein Volk wie dein Volk, und meine Rosse wie deine Rosse. |

And he said, Which way shall we go up? And he answered, The way through the wilderness of Edom.

So the king of Israel went, and the king of Judah, and the king of Edom: and they fetched a compass of seven days' journey: and there was no water for the host, and for the cattle that followed them.
| 9 Salieron, pues, el rey de Israel, el rey de Judá, y el rey de Edom; y como anduvieron rodeando por el desierto siete días de camino, les faltó agua para el ejército, y para las bestias que los seguían. | 9 So zogen hin der König von Israel, der König von Juda und der König von Edom. Und als sie sieben Tagereisen weit gezogen waren, hatte das Heer und das Vieh, das bei ihnen war, kein Wasser. |

And the king of Israel said, Alas! that the LORD hath called these three kings together, to deliver them into the hand of Moab!
| 10 Entonces el rey de Israel dijo: ¡Ah! que ha llamado Jehová a estos tres reyes para entregarlos en manos de los moabitas. | 10 Da sprach der König von Israel: O weh! Der HERR hat diese drei Könige hergerufen, um sie in die Hände der Moabiter zu geben! |

But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD, that we may enquire of the LORD by him? And one of the king of Israel's servants answered and said, Here is Elisha the son of Shaphat, which poured water on the hands of Elijah.
| 11 Mas Josafat dijo: ¿No hay aquí profeta de Jehová, para que consultemos a Jehová por medio de él? Y uno de los siervos del rey de Israel respondió y dijo: Aquí está Eliseo hijo de Safat, que servía a Elías. | 11 Joschafat aber sprach: Ist kein Prophet des HERRN hier, damit wir den HERRN durch ihn befragen? Da antwortete einer unter den Männern des Königs von Israel und sprach: Hier ist Elisa, der Sohn Schafats, der Elia Wasser auf die Hände goß. |

And Jehoshaphat said, The word of the LORD is with him. So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.
| 12 Y Josafat dijo: Este tendrá palabra de Jehová. Y descendieron a él el rey de Israel, y Josafat, y el rey de Edom. | 12 Joschafat sprach: Des HERRN Wort ist bei ihm. So zogen zu ihm hinab der König von Israel und Joschafat und der König von Edom. |

And Elisha said unto the king of Israel, What have I to do with thee? get thee to the prophets of thy father, and to the prophets of thy mother. And the king of Israel said unto him, Nay: for the LORD hath called these three kings together, to deliver them into the hand of Moab.
| 13 Entonces Eliseo dijo al rey de Israel: ¿Qué tengo yo contigo? Ve a los profetas de tu padre, y a los profetas de tu madre. Y el rey de Israel le respondió: No; porque Jehová ha reunido a estos tres reyes para entregarlos en manos de los moabitas. | 13 Elisa aber sprach zum König von Israel: Was habe ich mit dir zu schaffen? Geh hin zu den Propheten deines Vaters und zu den Propheten deiner Mutter! Der König von Israel sprach zu ihm: Nicht doch! Denn der HERR hat diese drei Könige hergerufen, um sie in die Hände der Moabiter zu geben. |

And Elisha said, As the LORD of hosts liveth, before whom I stand, surely, were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look toward thee, nor see thee.
| 14 Y Eliseo dijo: Vive Jehová de los ejércitos, en cuya presencia estoy, que si no tuviese respeto al rostro de Josafat rey de Judá, no te mirara a ti, ni te viera. | 14 Elisa sprach: So wahr der HERR Zebaoth lebt, vor dem ich stehe: wenn ich nicht Joschafat, den König von Juda, ehrte, ich wollte dich nicht ansehen noch achten. |

But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him.
| 15 Mas ahora traedme un tañedor. Y mientras el tañedor tocaba, la mano de Jehová vino sobre Eliseo, | 15 So bringt mir nun einen Spielmann! Und als der Spielmann auf den Saiten spielte, kam die Hand des HERRN auf Elisa, |

And he said, Thus saith the LORD, Make this valley full of ditches.
| 16 quien dijo: Así ha dicho Jehová: Haced en este valle muchos estanques. | 16 und er sprach: So spricht der HERR: Macht hier und da Gruben in diesem Tal. |

For thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not see wind, neither shall ye see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, that ye may drink, both ye, and your cattle, and your beasts.
| 17 Porque Jehová ha dicho así: No veréis viento, ni veréis lluvia; pero este valle será lleno de agua, y beberéis vosotros, y vuestras bestias y vuestros ganados. | 17 Denn so spricht der HERR: Ihr werdet weder Wind noch Regen sehen; dennoch soll das Tal voll Wasser werden, daß ihr und euer Heer und euer Vieh trinken könnt. |

And this is but a light thing in the sight of the LORD: he will deliver the Moabites also into your hand.
| 18 Y esto es cosa ligera en los ojos de Jehová; entregará también a los moabitas en vuestras manos. | 18 Und das ist noch ein Geringes vor dem HERRN; er wird auch die Moabiter in eure Hände geben, |

And ye shall smite every fenced city, and every choice city, and shall fell every good tree, and stop all wells of water, and mar every good piece of land with stones.
| 19 Y destruiréis toda ciudad fortificada y toda villa hermosa, y talaréis todo buen árbol, cegaréis todas las fuentes de aguas, y destruiréis con piedras toda tierra fértil. | 19 so daß ihr wüste machen werdet alle festen Städte und alle auserwählten Städte und fällen alle guten Bäume und verstopfen alle Wasserbrunnen und alle guten Äcker mit Steinen verderben. |

And it came to pass in the morning, when the meat offering was offered, that, behold, there came water by the way of Edom, and the country was filled with water.
| 20 Aconteció, pues, que por la mañana, cuando se ofrece el sacrificio, he aquí vinieron aguas por el camino de Edom, y la tierra se llenó de aguas. | 20 Aber am nächsten Morgen, zur Zeit, da man Speisopfer opfert, siehe, da kam Wasser von Edom her und füllte das Land mit Wasser. |

And when all the Moabites heard that the kings were come up to fight against them, they gathered all that were able to put on armour, and upward, and stood in the border.
| 21 Cuanto todos los de Moab oyeron que los reyes subían a pelear contra ellos, se juntaron desde los que apenas podían ceñir armadura en adelante, y se pusieron en la frontera. | 21 Als aber alle Moabiter hörten, daß die Könige heraufzogen, um gegen sie zu kämpfen, riefen sie alle auf, die zur Rüstung alt genug und darüber waren, und stellten sich an der Grenze auf. |

And they rose up early in the morning, and the sun shone upon the water, and the Moabites saw the water on the other side as red as blood:
| 22 Cuando se levantaron por la mañana, y brilló el sol sobre las aguas, vieron los de Moab desde lejos las aguas rojas como sangre; | 22 Und als sie sich früh am Morgen aufmachten und die Sonne aufging über dem Gewässer, schien den Moabitern das Gewässer in der Ferne rot zu sein wie Blut. |

And they said, This is blood: the kings are surely slain, and they have smitten one another: now therefore, Moab, to the spoil.
| 23 y dijeron: ¡Esto es sangre de espada! Los reyes se han vuelto uno contra otro, y cada uno ha dado muerte a su compañero. Ahora, pues, ¡Moab, al botín! | 23 Und sie sprachen: Das ist Blut! Die Könige haben sich mit dem Schwert umgebracht, und einer wird den andern erschlagen haben. Ha, Moab, mach dich nun auf zur Beute! |

And when they came to the camp of Israel, the Israelites rose up and smote the Moabites, so that they fled before them: but they went forward smiting the Moabites, even in their country.
| 24 Pero cuando llegaron al campamento de Israel, se levantaron los israelitas y atacaron a los de Moab, los cuales huyeron de delante de ellos; pero los persiguieron matando a los de Moab. | 24 Aber als sie zum Lager Israels kamen, machte sich Israel auf und schlug die Moabiter, und sie flohen vor ihnen. Aber Israel jagte ihnen nach und schlug Moab. |

And they beat down the cities, and on every good piece of land cast every man his stone, and filled it; and they stopped all the wells of water, and felled all the good trees: only in Kir-haraseth left they the stones thereof; howbeit the slingers went about it, and smote it.
| 25 Y asolaron las ciudades, y en todas las tierras fértiles echó cada uno su piedra, y las llenaron; cegaron también todas las fuentes de las aguas, y derribaron todos los buenos árboles; hasta que en Kir-hareset solamente dejaron piedras, porque los honderos la rodearon y la destruyeron. | 25 Die Städte zerstörten sie, und jeder warf einen Stein auf alle guten Äcker, und sie machten sie voll davon und verstopften alle Wasserbrunnen und fällten alle guten Bäume, bis nur Kir-Heres übrigblieb. Aber die Schleuderer umringten die Stadt und schossen auf sie. |

And when the king of Moab saw that the battle was too sore for him, he took with him seven hundred men that drew swords, to break through even unto the king of Edom: but they could not.
| 26 Y cuando el rey de Moab vio que era vencido en la batalla, tomó consigo setecientos hombres que manejaban espada, para atacar al rey de Edom; mas no pudieron. | 26 Als aber der König der Moabiter sah, daß ihm der Kampf zu stark war, nahm er siebenhundert Mann mit sich, die das Schwert führten, um beim König von Edom durchzubrechen; aber sie konnten's nicht. |

Then he took his eldest son that should have reigned in his stead, and offered him for a burnt offering upon the wall. And there was great indignation against Israel: and they departed from him, and returned to their own land. | 27 Entonces arrebató a su primogénito que había de reinar en su lugar, y lo sacrificó en holocausto sobre el muro. Y hubo grande enojo contra Israel; y se apartaron de él, y se volvieron a su tierra. | 27 Da nahm er seinen erstgeborenen Sohn, der an seiner Statt König werden sollte, und opferte ihn zum Brandopfer auf der Mauer. Da kam ein großer Zorn über Israel, so daß sie von ihm abzogen und in ihr Land zurückkehrten. |
