And it came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard it, that he rent his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the LORD.

And he sent Eliakim, which was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.
| 2 Y envió a Eliaquim mayordomo, a Sebna escriba y a los ancianos de los sacerdotes, cubiertos de cilicio, al profeta Isaías hijo de Amoz, | 2 Und er sandte den Hofmeister Eljakim und den Schreiber Schebna samt den Ältesten der Priester, mit Säcken angetan, zu dem Propheten Jesaja, dem Sohn des Amoz. |

And they said unto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.
| 3 para que le dijesen: Así ha dicho Ezequías: Este día es día de angustia, de reprensión y de blasfemia; porque los hijos están a punto de nacer, y la que da a luz no tiene fuerzas. | 3 Und sie sprachen zu ihm: So sagt Hiskia: Das ist ein Tag der Not, der Strafe und der Schmach - wie wenn Kinder eben geboren werden sollen, aber die Kraft fehlt, sie zu gebären. |

It may be the LORD thy God will hear all the words of Rab-shakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God; and will reprove the words which the LORD thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that are left.
| 4 Quizá oirá Jehová tu Dios todas las palabras del Rabsaces, a quien el rey de los asirios su señor ha enviado para blasfemar al Dios viviente, y para vituperar con palabras, las cuales Jehová tu Dios ha oído; por tanto, eleva oración por el remanente que aún queda. | 4 Vielleicht hört der HERR, dein Gott, alle Worte des Rabschake, den sein Herr, der König von Assyrien, gesandt hat, um hohnzusprechen dem lebendigen Gott, und straft die Worte, die der HERR, dein Gott, gehört hat. So erhebe dein Gebet für die Übriggebliebenen, die noch vorhanden sind. |

So the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah.

And Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall ye say to your master, Thus saith the LORD, Be not afraid of the words which thou hast heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.
| 6 E Isaías les respondió: Así diréis a vuestro señor: Así ha dicho Jehová: No temas por las palabras que has oído, con las cuales me han blasfemado los siervos del rey de Asiria. | 6 sprach Jesaja zu ihnen: So sagt eurem Herrn: So spricht der HERR: Fürchte dich nicht vor den Worten, die du gehört hast, mit denen mich die Knechte des Königs von Assyrien gelästert haben. |

Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and shall return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.
| 7 He aquí pondré yo en él un espíritu, y oirá rumor, y volverá a su tierra; y haré que en su tierra caiga a espada. | 7 Siehe, ich will einen Geist über ihn bringen, daß er ein Gerücht hören und in sein Land zurückziehen wird, und will ihn durchs Schwert fällen in seinem Lande. |

So Rab-shakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah: for he had heard that he was departed from Lachish.
| 8 Y regresando el Rabsaces, halló al rey de Asiria combatiendo contra Libna; porque oyó que se había ido de Laquis. | 8 Und als der Rabschake zurückkam, fand er den König von Assyrien gegen Libna kämpfen, denn er hatte gehört, daß er von Lachisch abgezogen war. |

And when he heard say of Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, Behold, he is come out to fight against thee: he sent messengers again unto Hezekiah, saying,
| 9 Y oyó decir que Tirhaca rey de Etiopía había salido para hacerle guerra. Entonces volvió él y envió embajadores a Ezequías, | 9 Der König von Assyrien hatte nämlich gehört über Tirhaka, den König von Kusch: Siehe, er ist ausgezogen, mit dir zu kämpfen. Da sandte er abermals Boten zu Hiskia und ließ ihm sagen: |

Thus shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God in whom thou trustest deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.
| 10 Así diréis a Ezequías rey de Judá: No te engañe tu Dios en quien tú confías, para decir: Jerusalén no será entregada en mano del rey de Asiria. | 10 So sprecht zu Hiskia, dem König von Juda: Laß dich von deinem Gott nicht betrügen, auf den du dich verläßt und sprichst: Jerusalem wird nicht in die Hand des Königs von Assyrien gegeben werden. |

Behold, thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, by destroying them utterly: and shalt thou be delivered?
| 11 He aquí tú has oído lo que han hecho los reyes de Asiria a todas las tierras, destruyéndolas; ¿y escaparás tú? | 11 Siehe, du hast gehört, was die Könige von Assyrien allen Ländern getan haben, daß sie den Bann an ihnen vollstreckten, und du allein solltest errettet werden? |

Have the gods of the nations delivered them which my fathers have destroyed; as Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden which were in Thelasar?
| 12 ¿Acaso libraron sus dioses a las naciones que mis padres destruyeron, esto es, Gozán, Harán, Resef, y los hijos de Edén que estaban en Telasar? | 12 Haben die Götter der Völker, die von meinen Vätern vernichtet sind, sie errettet: Gosan, Haran, Rezef und die Leute von Eden, die zu Telassar waren? |

Where is the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivah?
| 13 ¿Dónde está el rey de Hamat, el rey de Arfad, y el rey de la ciudad de Sefarvaim, de Hena y de Iva? | 13 Wo ist der König von Hamat, der König von Arpad und der König der Stadt Sefarwajim, von Hena und Awa? |

And Hezekiah received the letter of the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up into the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD.

And Hezekiah prayed before the LORD, and said, O LORD God of Israel, which dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth.
| 15 Y oró Ezequías delante de Jehová, diciendo: Jehová Dios de Israel, que moras entre los querubines, sólo tú eres Dios de todos los reinos de la tierra; tú hiciste el cielo y la tierra. | 15 und betete vor dem HERRN und sprach: HERR, Gott Israels, der du über den Cherubim thronst, du bist allein Gott über alle Königreiche auf Erden, du hast Himmel und Erde gemacht. |

LORD, bow down thine ear, and hear: open, LORD, thine eyes, and see: and hear the words of Sennacherib, which hath sent him to reproach the living God.
| 16 Inclina, oh Jehová, tu oído, y oye; abre, oh Jehová, tus ojos, y mira; y oye las palabras de Senaquerib, que ha enviado a blasfemar al Dios viviente. | 16 HERR, neige deine Ohren und höre, tu deine Augen auf und sieh und höre die Worte Sanheribs, der hergesandt hat, um dem lebendigen Gott hohnzusprechen. |

Of a truth, LORD, the kings of Assyria have destroyed the nations and their lands,
| 17 Es verdad, oh Jehová, que los reyes de Asiria han destruido las naciones y sus tierras; | 17 Es ist wahr, HERR, die Könige von Assyrien haben die Völker mit dem Schwert umgebracht und ihre Länder verwüstet |

And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.
| 18 y que echaron al fuego a sus dioses, por cuanto ellos no eran dioses, sino obra de manos de hombres, madera o piedra, y por eso los destruyeron. | 18 und haben ihre Götter ins Feuer geworfen, denn es waren nicht Götter, sondern Werk von Menschenhänden, Holz und Stein; darum haben sie sie vertilgt. |

Now therefore, O LORD our God, I beseech thee, save thou us out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the LORD God, even thou only.
| 19 Ahora, pues, oh Jehová Dios nuestro, sálvanos, te ruego, de su mano, para que sepan todos los reinos de la tierra que sólo tú, Jehová, eres Dios. | 19 Nun aber, HERR, unser Gott, errette uns aus seiner Hand, damit alle Königreiche auf Erden erkennen, daß du, HERR, allein Gott bist. |

Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, That which thou hast prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria I have heard.
| 20 Entonces Isaías hijo de Amoz envió a decir a Ezequías: Así ha dicho Jehová, Dios de Israel: Lo que me pediste acerca de Senaquerib rey de Asiria, he oído. | 20 Da sandte Jesaja, der Sohn des Amoz, zu Hiskia und ließ ihm sagen: So spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels: Was du zu mir gebetet hast um Sanheribs willen, des Königs von Assyrien, das habe ich gehört. |

This is the word that the LORD hath spoken concerning him; The virgin the daughter of Zion hath despised thee, and laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee.
| 21 Esta es la palabra que Jehová ha pronunciado acerca de él: La virgen hija de Sion te menosprecia, te escarnece; detrás de ti mueve su cabeza la hija de Jerusalén. | 21 Das ist's, was der HERR gegen ihn geredet hat: Die Jungfrau, die Tochter Zion, verachtet dich und spottet deiner. Die Tochter Jerusalem schüttelt ihr Haupt hinter dir her. |

Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.
| 22 ¿A quién has vituperado y blasfemado? ¿y contra quién has alzado la voz, y levantado en alto tus ojos? Contra el Santo de Israel. | 22 Wen hast du gehöhnt und gelästert? Über wen hast du deine Stimme erhoben? Du hast deine Augen erhoben wider den Heiligen Israels! |

By thy messengers thou hast reproached the Lord, and hast said, With the multitude of my chariots I am come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon, and will cut down the tall cedar trees thereof, and the choice fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the lodgings of his borders, and into the forest of his Carmel.
| 23 Por mano de tus mensajeros has vituperado a Jehová, y has dicho: Con la multitud de mis carros he subido a las alturas de los montes, a lo más inaccesible del Líbano; cortaré sus altos cedros, sus cipreses más escogidos; me alojaré en sus más remotos lugares, en el bosque de sus feraces campos. | 23 Du hast den HERRN durch deine Boten verhöhnt und gesagt: Ich bin mit der Menge meiner Wagen auf die Höhen der Berge gestiegen, in den innersten Libanon. Ich habe seine hohen Zedern und auserlesenen Zypressen abgehauen und bin gekommen bis zur äußersten Herberge darin im dichtesten Walde. |

I have digged and drunk strange waters, and with the sole of my feet have I dried up all the rivers of besieged places.
| 24 Yo he cavado y bebido las aguas extrañas, he secado con las plantas de mis pies todos los ríos de Egipto. | 24 Ich habe gegraben und getrunken die fremden Wasser und werde austrocknen mit meinen Fußsohlen alle Flüsse Ägyptens. - |

Hast thou not heard long ago how I have done it, and of ancient times that I have formed it? now have I brought it to pass, that thou shouldest be to lay waste fenced cities into ruinous heaps.
| 25 ¿Nunca has oído que desde tiempos antiguos yo lo hice, y que desde los días de la antigüedad lo tengo ideado? Y ahora lo he hecho venir, y tú serás para hacer desolaciones, para reducir las ciudades fortificadas a montones de escombros. | 25 Hast du nicht gehört, daß ich es lange zuvor bereitet und von Anfang an geplant habe? Nun aber habe ich's kommen lassen, daß du feste Städte zerstörtest zu wüsten Steinhaufen. |

Therefore their inhabitants were of small power, they were dismayed and confounded; they were as the grass of the field, and as the green herb, as the grass on the housetops, and as corn blasted before it be grown up.
| 26 Sus moradores fueron de corto poder; fueron acobardados y confundidos; vinieron a ser como la hierba del campo, y como hortaliza verde, como heno de los terrados, marchitado antes de su madurez. | 26 Und die darin wohnen, wurden ohne Kraft und fürchteten sich und wurden zuschanden. Sie wurden wie das Gras auf dem Felde und wie das grüne Kraut, wie Gras auf den Dächern, das verdorrt, ehe es reif wird. |

But I know thy abode, and thy going out, and thy coming in, and thy rage against me.
| 27 He conocido tu situación, tu salida y tu entrada, y tu furor contra mí. | 27 Ich weiß von deinem Aufstehen und Sitzen, deinem Ausziehen und Einziehen, und daß du tobst gegen mich. |

Because thy rage against me and thy tumult is come up into mine ears, therefore I will put my hook in thy nose, and my bridle in thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.
| 28 Por cuanto te has airado contra mí, por cuanto tu arrogancia ha subido a mis oídos, yo pondré mi garfio en tu nariz, y mi freno en tus labios, y te haré volver por el camino por donde viniste. | 28 Weil du denn gegen mich tobst und dein Übermut vor meine Ohren gekommen ist, so will ich dir meinen Ring in deine Nase legen und meinen Zaum in dein Maul und will dich den Weg wieder zurückführen, den du hergekommen bist. |

And this shall be a sign unto thee, Ye shall eat this year such things as grow of themselves, and in the second year that which springeth of the same; and in the third year sow ye, and reap, and plant vineyards, and eat the fruits thereof.
| 29 Y esto te daré por señal, oh Ezequías: Este año comeréis lo que nacerá de suyo, y el segundo año lo que nacerá de suyo; y el tercer año sembraréis, y segaréis, y plantaréis viñas, y comeréis el fruto de ellas. | 29 Und das sei dir, Hiskia, ein Zeichen: In diesem Jahr iß, was von selber nachwächst, im nächsten Jahr, was auch dann noch wächst, im dritten Jahr sät und erntet und pflanzt Weinberge und eßt ihre Früchte. |

And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall yet again take root downward, and bear fruit upward.
| 30 Y lo que hubiere escapado, lo que hubiere quedado de la casa de Judá, volverá a echar raíces abajo, y llevará fruto arriba. | 30 Und was vom Hause Juda errettet und übriggeblieben ist, wird von neuem nach unten Wurzeln schlagen und oben Frucht tragen. |

For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the zeal of the LORD of hosts shall do this.
| 31 Porque saldrá de Jerusalén remanente, y del monte de Sion los que se salven. El celo de Jehová de los ejércitos hará esto. | 31 Denn von Jerusalem werden ausgehen, die übriggeblieben sind, und die Erretteten vom Berge Zion. Der Eifer des HERRN Zebaoth wird solches tun. |

Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shield, nor cast a bank against it.
| 32 Por tanto, así dice Jehová acerca del rey de Asiria: No entrará en esta ciudad, ni echará saeta en ella; ni vendrá delante de ella con escudo, ni levantará contra ella baluarte. | 32 Darum spricht der HERR über den König von Assyrien: Er soll nicht in diese Stadt kommen und keinen Pfeil hineinschießen und mit keinem Schild davorkommen und soll keinen Wall gegen sie aufschütten, |

By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the LORD.
| 33 Por el mismo camino que vino, volverá, y no entrará en esta ciudad, dice Jehová. | 33 sondern er soll den Weg wieder zurückziehen, den er gekommen ist, und soll in diese Stadt nicht kommen; der HERR sagt's. |

For I will defend this city, to save it, for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.
| 34 Porque yo ampararé esta ciudad para salvarla, por amor a mí mismo, y por amor a David mi siervo. | 34 Und ich will diese Stadt beschirmen, daß ich sie errette um meinetwillen und um meines Knechtes David willen. |

And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the LORD went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.
| 35 Y aconteció que aquella misma noche salió el ángel de Jehová, y mató en el campamento de los asirios a ciento ochenta y cinco mil; y cuando se levantaron por la mañana, he aquí que todo era cuerpos de muertos. | 35 Und in dieser Nacht fuhr aus der Engel des HERRN und schlug im Lager von Assyrien hundertfünfundachtzigtausend Mann. Und als man sich früh am Morgen aufmachte, siehe, da lag alles voller Leichen. |

So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.
| 36 Entonces Senaquerib rey de Asiria se fue, y volvió a Nínive, donde se quedó. | 36 So brach Sanherib, der König von Assyrien, auf und zog ab, kehrte um und blieb zu Ninive. |

And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword: and they escaped into the land of Armenia. And Esar-haddon his son reigned in his stead. | 37 Y aconteció que mientras él adoraba en el templo de Nisroc su dios, Adramelec y Sarezer sus hijos lo hirieron a espada, y huyeron a tierra de Ararat. Y reinó en su lugar Esarhadón su hijo. | 37 Und als er anbetete im Haus seines Gottes Nisroch, erschlugen ihn mit dem Schwert seine Söhne Adrammelech und Sarezer, und sie entkamen ins Land Ararat. Und sein Sohn Asarhaddon wurde König an seiner Statt. |
