In the three and twentieth year of Joash the son of Ahaziah king of Judah Jehoahaz the son of Jehu began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned seventeen years.

And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, and followed the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which made Israel to sin; he departed not therefrom.
| 2 E hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová, y siguió en los pecados de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, el que hizo pecar a Israel; y no se apartó de ellos. | 2 Und er tat, was dem HERRN mißfiel, und wandelte nach den Sünden Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats, der Israel sündigen machte, und ließ nicht davon ab. |

And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he delivered them into the hand of Hazael king of Syria, and into the hand of Ben-hadad the son of Hazael, all their days.
| 3 Y se encendió el furor de Jehová contra Israel, y los entregó en mano de Hazael rey de Siria, y en mano de Ben-adad hijo de Hazael, por largo tiempo. | 3 Und des HERRN Zorn entbrannte über Israel, und er gab sie in die Hand Hasaëls, des Königs von Aram, und Ben- Hadads, des Sohnes Hasaëls, die ganze Zeit. |

And Jehoahaz besought the LORD, and the LORD hearkened unto him: for he saw the oppression of Israel, because the king of Syria oppressed them.
| 4 Mas Joacaz oró en presencia de Jehová, y Jehová lo oyó; porque miró la aflicción de Israel, pues el rey de Siria los afligía. | 4 Aber Joahas flehte zum HERRN, und der HERR erhörte ihn; denn er sah den Jammer Israels an, wie der König von Aram es bedrängte. |

(And the LORD gave Israel a saviour, so that they went out from under the hand of the Syrians: and the children of Israel dwelt in their tents, as beforetime.
| 5 (Y dio Jehová salvador a Israel, y salieron del poder de los sirios; y habitaron los hijos de Israel en sus tiendas, como antes. | 5 Und der HERR gab Israel einen Retter, der sie aus der Gewalt der Aramäer befreite, daß die Israeliten in ihren Häusern wohnen konnten wie zuvor. |

Nevertheless they departed not from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, who made Israel sin, but walked therein: and there remained the grove also in Samaria.)
| 6 Con todo eso, no se apartaron de los pecados de la casa de Jeroboam, el que hizo pecar a Israel; en ellos anduvieron; y también la imagen de Asera permaneció en Samaria. | 6 Doch ließen sie nicht ab von der Sünde des Hauses Jerobeams, der Israel sündigen machte, sondern wandelten darin. Neither did he leave of the people to Jehoahaz but fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen; for the king of Syria had destroyed them, and had made them like the dust by threshing.
| 7 Porque no le había quedado gente a Joacaz, sino cincuenta hombres de a caballo, diez carros, y diez mil hombres de a pie; pues el rey de Siria los había destruido, y los había puesto como el polvo para hollar. | 7 Denn es waren vom Kriegsvolk des Joahas nicht mehr übriggeblieben als fünfzig Gespannpferde, zehn Wagen und zehntausend Mann Fußvolk; denn der König von Aram hatte sie umgebracht und sie gemacht wie Staub beim Dreschen. |

Now the rest of the acts of Jehoahaz, and all that he did, and his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

And Jehoahaz slept with his fathers; and they buried him in Samaria: and Joash his son reigned in his stead.
| 9 Y durmió Joacaz con sus padres, y lo sepultaron en Samaria, y reinó en su lugar Joás su hijo. | 9 Und Joahas legte sich zu seinen Vätern, und man begrub ihn zu Samaria. Und sein Sohn Joasch wurde König an seiner Statt. |

In the thirty and seventh year of Joash king of Judah began Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned sixteen years.

And Joash slept with his fathers; and Jeroboam sat upon his throne: and Joash was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel.
| 13 Y durmió Joás con sus padres, y se sentó Jeroboam sobre su trono; y Joás fue sepultado en Samaria con los reyes de Israel. | 13 Und Joasch legte sich zu seinen Vätern, und auf seinen Thron setzte sich Jerobeam. Joasch aber wurde begraben zu Samaria bei den Königen von Israel. |

Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he died. And Joash the king of Israel came down unto him, and wept over his face, and said, O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof.
| 14 Estaba Eliseo enfermo de la enfermedad de que murió. And Elisha said unto him, Take bow and arrows. And he took unto him bow and arrows.
| 15 Y le dijo Eliseo: Toma un arco y unas saetas. Tomó él entonces un arco y unas saetas. | 15 Elisa aber sprach zu ihm: Nimm Bogen und Pfeile! Und als er den Bogen und die Pfeile nahm, |

And he said to the king of Israel, Put thine hand upon the bow. And he put his hand upon it: and Elisha put his hands upon the king's hands.
| 16 Luego dijo Eliseo al rey de Israel: Pon tu mano sobre el arco. Y puso él su mano sobre el arco. Entonces puso Eliseo sus manos sobre las manos del rey, | 16 sprach er zum König von Israel: Spanne mit deiner Hand den Bogen! Und er spannte ihn mit seiner Hand. Und Elisa legte seine Hand auf des Königs Hand |

And he said, Open the window eastward. And he opened it. Then Elisha said, Shoot. And he shot. And he said, The arrow of the LORD's deliverance, and the arrow of deliverance from Syria: for thou shalt smite the Syrians in Aphek, till thou have consumed them.
| 17 y dijo: Abre la ventana que da al oriente. Y cuando él la abrió, dijo Eliseo: Tira. Y tirando él, dijo Eliseo: Saeta de salvación de Jehová, y saeta de salvación contra Siria; porque herirás a los sirios en Afec hasta consumirlos. | 17 und sprach: Tu das Fenster auf nach Osten! Und er tat's auf. Und Elisa sprach: Schieß! Und er schoß. Elisa aber rief: Ein Pfeil des Siegs vom HERRN, ein Pfeil des Siegs gegen Aram! Du wirst die Aramäer schlagen bei Afek, bis sie aufgerieben sind. |

And he said, Take the arrows. And he took them. And he said unto the king of Israel, Smite upon the ground. And he smote thrice, and stayed.
| 18 Y le volvió a decir: Toma las saetas. Y luego que el rey de Israel las hubo tomado, le dijo: Golpea la tierra. Y él la golpeó tres veces, y se detuvo. | 18 Und er sprach: Nimm die Pfeile! Und als er sie nahm, sprach er zum König von Israel: Schlag auf die Erde! Und er schlug dreimal und hielt inne. |

And the man of God was wroth with him, and said, Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times; then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadst consumed it: whereas now thou shalt smite Syria but thrice.
| 19 Entonces el varón de Dios, enojado contra él, le dijo: Al dar cinco o seis golpes, hubieras derrotado a Siria hasta no quedar ninguno; pero ahora sólo tres veces derrotarás a Siria. | 19 Da wurde der Mann Gottes zornig auf ihn und sprach: Hättest du fünf- oder sechsmal geschlagen, so hättest du die Aramäer geschlagen, bis sie aufgerieben wären; nun aber wirst du sie nur dreimal schlagen. |

And Elisha died, and they buried him. And the bands of the Moabites invaded the land at the coming in of the year.
| 20 Y murió Eliseo, y lo sepultaron. Entrado el ańo, vinieron bandas armadas de moabitas a la tierra. | 20 Als aber Elisa gestorben war und man ihn begraben hatte, fielen streifende Rotten der Moabiter ins Land Jahr um Jahr. |

And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.
| 21 Y aconteció que al sepultar unos a un hombre, súbitamente vieron una banda armada, y arrojaron el cadáver en el sepulcro de Eliseo; y cuando llegó a tocar el muerto los huesos de Eliseo, revivió, y se levantó sobre sus pies. | 21 Und es begab sich, daß man einen Mann zu Grabe trug. Als man aber einige Leute von ihnen sah, warf man den Mann in Elisas Grab. Und als er die Gebeine Elisas berührte, wurde er lebendig und trat auf seine Füße. |

But Hazael king of Syria oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz.
| 22 Hazael, pues, rey de Siria, afligió a Israel todo el tiempo de Joacaz. | 22 Hasaël, der König von Aram, bedrängte Israel, solange Joahas lebte. |
| 23
And the LORD was gracious unto them, and had compassion on them, and had respect unto them, because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them, neither cast he them from his presence as yet.
| 23 Mas Jehová tuvo misericordia de ellos, y se compadeció de ellos y los miró, a causa de su pacto con Abraham, Isaac y Jacob; y no quiso destruirlos ni echarlos de delante de su presencia hasta hoy. | 23 Aber der HERR gab ihnen Gnade und erbarmte sich ihrer und wandte sich ihnen wieder zu um seines Bundes willen mit Abraham, Isaak und Jakob und wollte sie nicht verderben, verwarf sie auch nicht von seinem Angesicht bis auf diese Stunde. |

So Hazael king of Syria died; and Ben-hadad his son reigned in his stead.
| 24 Y murió Hazael rey de Siria, y reinó en su lugar Ben-adad su hijo. | 24 Und Hasaël, der König von Aram, starb, und sein Sohn Ben-Hadad wurde König an seiner Statt. |

And Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz took again out of the hand of Ben-hadad the son of Hazael the cities, which he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father by war. Three times did Joash beat him, and recovered the cities of Israel. | 25 Y volvió Joás hijo de Joacaz y tomó de mano de Ben-adad hijo de Hazael las ciudades que éste había tomado en guerra de mano de Joacaz su padre. Tres veces lo derrotó Joás, y restituyó las ciudades a Israel. | 25 Joasch aber gewann die Städte zurück aus der Hand Ben-Hadads, des Sohnes Hasaëls, die er im Kampf seinem Vater Joahas genommen hatte. Dreimal schlug ihn Joasch und gewann so die Städte Israels zurück. |
