In the seventh year of Jehu Jehoash began to reign; and forty years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Zibiah of Beer-sheba.

And Jehoash did that which was right in the sight of the LORD all his days wherein Jehoiada the priest instructed him.

But the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.
| 3 Con todo eso, los lugares altos no se quitaron, porque el pueblo aún sacrificaba y quemaba incienso en los lugares altos. | 3 Und Joasch tat, was recht war und dem HERRN wohlgefiel, solange ihn der Priester Jojada lehrte, |

And Jehoash said to the priests, All the money of the dedicated things that is brought into the house of the LORD, even the money of every one that passeth the account, the money that every man is set at, and all the money that cometh into any man's heart to bring into the house of the LORD,
| 4 Y Joás dijo a los sacerdotes: Todo el dinero consagrado que se suele traer a la casa de Jehová, el dinero del rescate de cada persona según está estipulado, y todo el dinero que cada uno de su propia voluntad trae a la casa de Jehová, | 4 nur, daß die Höhen nicht entfernt wurden; denn das Volk opferte und räucherte noch auf den Höhen. |

Let the priests take it to them, every man of his acquaintance: and let them repair the breaches of the house, wheresoever any breach shall be found.
| 5 recíbanlo los sacerdotes, cada uno de mano de sus familiares, y reparen los portillos del templo dondequiera que se hallen grietas. | 5 Und Joasch sprach zu den Priestern: Alles für das Heiligtum bestimmte Geld, das in das Haus des HERRN gebracht wird - Geld, wie es gang und gäbe ist -, nämlich das Geld, das jedermann gibt, wie er geschätzt wird, und alles Geld, das jedermann aus freiem Herzen opfert, daß er's in das Haus des HERRN bringe, |

But it was so, that in the three and twentieth year of king Jehoash the priests had not repaired the breaches of the house.
| 6 Pero en el año veintitrés del rey Joás aún no habían reparado los sacerdotes las grietas del templo. | 6 das sollen die Priester zu sich nehmen, jeder von seinem Bekannten. Davon sollen sie ausbessern, was baufällig ist am Hause, wo sie finden, daß es baufällig ist. |

Then king Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest, and the other priests, and said unto them, Why repair ye not the breaches of the house? now therefore receive no more money of your acquaintance, but deliver it for the breaches of the house.
| 7 Llamó entonces el rey Joás al sumo sacerdote Joiada y a los sacerdotes, y les dijo: ¿Por qué no reparáis las grietas del templo? Ahora, pues, no toméis más el dinero de vuestros familiares, sino dadlo para reparar las grietas del templo. | 7 Als aber die Priester bis ins dreiundzwanzigste Jahr des Königs Joasch nicht ausgebessert hatten, was baufällig war am Hause, |

And the priests consented to receive no more money of the people, neither to repair the breaches of the house.
| 8 Y los sacerdotes consintieron en no tomar más dinero del pueblo, ni tener el cargo de reparar las grietas del templo. | 8 rief der König Joasch den Priester Jojada samt den Priestern und sprach zu ihnen: Warum bessert ihr nicht aus, was baufällig ist am Hause? Darum sollt ihr nun nicht mehr das Geld an euch nehmen, jeder von seinen Bekannten, sondern sollt's geben zur Ausbesserung für das, was baufällig ist am Hause. |

But Jehoiada the priest took a chest, and bored a hole in the lid of it, and set it beside the altar, on the right side as one cometh into the house of the LORD: and the priests that kept the door put therein all the money that was brought into the house of the LORD.
| 9 Mas el sumo sacerdote Joiada tomó un arca e hizo en la tapa un agujero, y la puso junto al altar, a la mano derecha así que se entra en el templo de Jehová; y los sacerdotes que guardaban la puerta ponían allí todo el dinero que se traía a la casa de Jehová. | 9 Und die Priester willigten ein, daß sie vom Volk kein Geld mehr nehmen sollten, aber auch das Baufällige am Hause nicht mehr auszubessern brauchten. |

And it was so, when they saw that there was much money in the chest, that the king's scribe and the high priest came up, and they put up in bags, and told the money that was found in the house of the LORD.
| 10 Y cuando veían que había mucho dinero en el arca, venía el secretario del rey y el sumo sacerdote, y contaban el dinero que hallaban en el templo de Jehová, y lo guardaban. | 10 Da nahm der Priester Jojada eine Lade und bohrte oben ein Loch hinein und stellte sie auf zur rechten Hand neben dem Altar, wo man in das Haus des HERRN geht. Und die Priester, die an der Schwelle wachten, taten alles Geld hinein, das zu dem Hause des HERRN gebracht wurde. |

And they gave the money, being told, into the hands of them that did the work, that had the oversight of the house of the LORD: and they laid it out to the carpenters and builders, that wrought upon the house of the LORD,
| 11 Y daban el dinero suficiente a los que hacían la obra, y a los que tenían a su cargo la casa de Jehová; y ellos lo gastaban en pagar a los carpinteros y maestros que reparaban la casa de Jehová, | 11 Wenn sie dann sahen, daß viel Geld in der Lade war, kam der Schreiber des Königs mit dem Hohenpriester herauf, und sie zählten das Geld, das sich in dem Hause des HERRN vorfand, und banden es zusammen. |

And to masons, and hewers of stone, and to buy timber and hewed stone to repair the breaches of the house of the LORD, and for all that was laid out for the house to repair it.
| 12 y a los albañiles y canteros; y en comprar la madera y piedra de cantería para reparar las grietas de la casa de Jehová, y en todo lo que se gastaba en la casa para repararla. | 12 Und man übergab das Geld abgezählt den Werkmeistern, die bestellt waren für das Haus des HERRN, und sie gaben es aus an die Zimmerleute und Bauleute, die am Hause des HERRN arbeiteten, |

Howbeit there were not made for the house of the LORD bowls of silver, snuffers, basons, trumpets, any vessels of gold, or vessels of silver, of the money that was brought into the house of the LORD:
| 13 Mas de aquel dinero que se traía a la casa de Jehová, no se hacían tazas de plata, ni despabiladeras, ni jofainas, ni trompetas; ni ningún otro utensilio de oro ni de plata se hacía para el templo de Jehová; | 13 nämlich an die Maurer und Steinmetzen und an die, die Holz und gehauene Steine kaufen sollten, daß das Baufällige am Hause des HERRN ausgebessert werde, und für alles, was not war, um am Hause auszubessern. |

But they gave that to the workmen, and repaired therewith the house of the LORD.
| 14 porque lo daban a los que hacían la obra, y con él reparaban la casa de Jehová. | 14 Doch ließ man nicht machen silberne Schalen, Messer, Becken, Trompeten, auch kein goldenes oder silbernes Gerät im Hause des HERRN von dem Geld, das zu des HERRN Hause gebracht wurde, |

Moreover they reckoned not with the men, into whose hand they delivered the money to be bestowed on workmen: for they dealt faithfully.
| 15 Y no se tomaba cuenta a los hombres en cuyas manos el dinero era entregado, para que ellos lo diesen a los que hacían la obra; porque lo hacían ellos fielmente. | 15 sondern man gab's den Arbeitern, daß sie damit das Baufällige am Hause des HERRN ausbesserten. |

The trespass money and sin money was not brought into the house of the LORD: it was the priests'.
| 16 El dinero por el pecado, y el dinero por la culpa, no se llevaba a la casa de Jehová; porque era de los sacerdotes. | 16 Auch brauchten die Männer nicht Rechnung zu legen, denen man das Geld übergab, daß sie es den Arbeitern gäben, sondern sie handelten auf Treu und Glauben. |

Then Hazael king of Syria went up, and fought against Gath, and took it: and Hazael set his face to go up to Jerusalem.
| 17 Entonces subió Hazael rey de Siria, y peleó contra Gat, y la tomó. Y se propuso Hazael subir contra Jerusalén; | 17 Aber das Geld von Schuldopfern und Sündopfern kam nicht für das Haus des HERRN ein, denn es gehörte den Priestern. |

And Jehoash king of Judah took all the hallowed things that Jehoshaphat, and Jehoram, and Ahaziah, his fathers, kings of Judah, had dedicated, and his own hallowed things, and all the gold that was found in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and in the king's house, and sent it to Hazael king of Syria: and he went away from Jerusalem.
| 18 por lo cual tomó Joás rey de Judá todas las ofrendas que habían dedicado Josafat y Joram y Ocozías sus padres, reyes de Judá, y las que él había dedicado, y todo el oro que se halló en los tesoros de la casa de Jehová y en la casa del rey, y lo envió a Hazael rey de Siria; y él se retiró de Jerusalén. | 18 Zu der Zeit zog Hasaël, der König von Aram, herauf und kämpfte gegen Gat und eroberte es. Und als Hasaël sich wandte, um gegen Jerusalem hinaufzuziehen, |

And the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
| 19 Los demás hechos de Joás, y todo lo que hizo, ¿no está escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá? | 19 nahm Joasch, der König von Juda, alle heiligen Gaben, die seine Väter Joschafat, Joram und Ahasja, die Könige von Juda, geheiligt hatten, und was er selbst geheiligt hatte, dazu alles Gold, das man fand im Schatz des Hauses des HERRN und im Hause des Königs, und schickte es Hasaël, dem König von Aram. Da zog er von Jerusalem ab. |

And his servants arose, and made a conspiracy, and slew Joash in the house of Millo, which goeth down to Silla.
| 20 Y se levantaron sus siervos, y conspiraron en conjuración, y mataron a Joás en la casa de Milo, cuando descendía él a Sila; | 20 Was aber mehr von Joasch zu sagen ist und alles, was er getan hat, das steht geschrieben in der Chronik der Könige von Juda. |

For Jozachar the son of Shimeath, and Jehozabad the son of Shomer, his servants, smote him, and he died; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Amaziah his son reigned in his stead. | 21 pues Josacar hijo de Simeat y Jozabad hijo de Somer, sus siervos, le hirieron, y murió. Y lo sepultaron con sus padres en la ciudad de David, y reinó en su lugar Amasías su hijo. | 21 Und seine Großen empörten sich und machten eine Verschwörung und erschlugen ihn im Haus des Millo, wo man hinabgeht nach Silla. |
