And Ahab had seventy sons in Samaria. And Jehu wrote letters, and sent to Samaria, unto the rulers of Jezreel, to the elders, and to them that brought up Ahab's children, saying,

Now as soon as this letter cometh to you, seeing your master's sons are with you, and there are with you chariots and horses, a fenced city also, and armour;

Look even out the best and meetest of your master's sons, and set him on his father's throne, and fight for your master's house.
| 3 escoged al mejor y al más recto de los hijos de vuestro señor, y ponedlo en el trono de su padre, y pelead por la casa de vuestro señor. | 3 so seht, welcher der beste und geschickteste sei unter den Söhnen eures Herrn, und setzt ihn auf seines Vaters Thron und kämpft für eures Herrn Haus. |

But they were exceedingly afraid, and said, Behold, two kings stood not before him: how then shall we stand?
| 4 Pero ellos tuvieron gran temor, y dijeron: He aquí, dos reyes no pudieron resistirle; ¿cómo le resistiremos nosotros? | 4 Sie aber fürchteten sich gar sehr und sprachen: Siehe, zwei Könige konnten ihm nicht widerstehen; wie könnten wir ihm dann widerstehen? |

And he that was over the house, and he that was over the city, the elders also, and the bringers up of the children, sent to Jehu, saying, We are thy servants, and will do all that thou shalt bid us; we will not make any king: do thou that which is good in thine eyes.
| 5 Y el mayordomo, el gobernador de la ciudad, los ancianos y los ayos enviaron a decir a Jehú: Siervos tuyos somos, y haremos todo lo que nos mandes; no elegiremos por rey a ninguno, haz lo que bien te parezca. | 5 Und der Hofmeister und der Stadtvogt und die Ältesten und Vormünder sandten hin zu Jehu und ließen ihm sagen: Wir sind deine Knechte. Wir wollen alles tun, was du uns sagst; wir wollen niemand zum König machen. Tu, was dir gefällt. |

Then he wrote a letter the second time to them, saying, If ye be mine, and if ye will hearken unto my voice, take ye the heads of the men your master's sons, and come to me to Jezreel by to morrow this time. Now the king's sons, being seventy persons, were with the great men of the city, which brought them up.
| 6 El entonces les escribió la segunda vez, diciendo: Si sois míos, y queréis obedecerme, tomad las cabezas de los hijos varones de vuestro señor, y venid a mí mañana a esta hora, a Jezreel. Y los hijos del rey, setenta varones, estaban con los principales de la ciudad, que los criaban. | 6 Da schrieb er einen zweiten Brief an sie, der lautete: Wenn ihr zu mir haltet und meiner Stimme gehorcht, so nehmt die Köpfe der Söhne eures Herrn und bringt sie zu mir morgen um diese Zeit nach Jesreel. And it came to pass, when the letter came to them, that they took the king's sons, and slew seventy persons, and put their heads in baskets, and sent him them to Jezreel.
| 7 Cuando las cartas llegaron a ellos, tomaron a los hijos del rey, y degollaron a los setenta varones, y pusieron sus cabezas en canastas, y se las enviaron a Jezreel. | 7 Als nun der Brief zu ihnen kam, nahmen sie des Königs Söhne und töteten die siebzig und legten ihre Köpfe in Körbe und schickten sie zu Jehu nach Jesreel. |

And there came a messenger, and told him, saying, They have brought the heads of the king's sons. And he said, Lay ye them in two heaps at the entering in of the gate until the morning.
| 8 Y vino un mensajero que le dio las nuevas, diciendo: Han traído las cabezas de los hijos del rey. Y él le dijo: Ponedlas en dos montones a la entrada de la puerta hasta la mañana. | 8 Und als der Bote kam und ihm sagte: Sie haben die Köpfe der Söhne des Königs gebracht, sprach er: Legt sie in zwei Haufen vor das Tor bis morgen. |

And it came to pass in the morning, that he went out, and stood, and said to all the people, Ye be righteous: behold, I conspired against my master, and slew him: but who slew all these?
| 9 Venida la mañana, salió él, y estando en pie dijo a todo el pueblo: Vosotros sois justos; he aquí yo he conspirado contra mi señor, y le he dado muerte; pero ¿quién ha dado muerte a todos éstos? | 9 Und am Morgen, als er ausging, trat er hin und sprach zu allem Volk: Ihr seid ohne Schuld. Siehe, ich habe gegen meinen Herrn eine Verschwörung gemacht und ihn getötet. Wer aber hat denn diese alle erschlagen? |

Know now that there shall fall unto the earth nothing of the word of the LORD, which the LORD spake concerning the house of Ahab: for the LORD hath done that which he spake by his servant Elijah.
| 10 Sabed ahora que de la palabra que Jehová habló sobre la casa de Acab, nada caerá en tierra; y que Jehová ha hecho lo que dijo por su siervo Elías. | 10 So erkennt denn, daß kein Wort des HERRN auf die Erde gefallen ist, das der HERR geredet hat gegen das Haus Ahab. Der HERR hat getan, wie er geredet hat durch seinen Knecht Elia. |

So Jehu slew all that remained of the house of Ahab in Jezreel, and all his great men, and his kinsfolks, and his priests, until he left him none remaining.
| 11 Mató entonces Jehú a todos los que habían quedado de la casa de Acab en Jezreel, a todos sus príncipes, a todos sus familiares, y a sus sacerdotes, hasta que no quedó ninguno. | 11 So erschlug Jehu alle Übriggebliebenen vom Hause Ahab in Jesreel, alle seine Großen, seine Verwandten und seine Priester, bis nicht ein einziger übrigblieb. |

And he arose and departed, and came to Samaria. And as he was at the shearing house in the way,
| 12 Luego se levantó de allí para ir a Samaria; y en el camino llegó a una casa de esquileo de pastores. | 12 Und Jehu machte sich auf und zog auf Samaria zu. Aber als er unterwegs nach Bet-Eked der Hirten kam, |

Jehu met with the brethren of Ahaziah king of Judah, and said, Who are ye? And they answered, We are the brethren of Ahaziah; and we go down to salute the children of the king and the children of the queen.
| 13 Y halló allí a los hermanos de Ocozías rey de Judá, y les dijo: ¿Quiénes sois vosotros? Y ellos dijeron: Somos hermanos de Ocozías, y hemos venido a saludar a los hijos del rey, y a los hijos de la reina. | 13 da traf Jehu die Brüder Ahasjas, des Königs von Juda, und sprach: Wer seid ihr? Sie sprachen: Wir sind Brüder Ahasjas und ziehen hin, um die Söhne des Königs und die Söhne der Königinmutter zu grüßen. |

And he said, Take them alive. And they took them alive, and slew them at the pit of the shearing house, even two and forty men; neither left he any of them.
| 14 Entonces él dijo: Prendedlos vivos. Y después que los tomaron vivos, los degollaron junto al pozo de la casa de esquileo, cuarenta y dos varones, sin dejar ninguno de ellos. | 14 Er aber sprach: Ergreift sie lebendig! Und sie ergriffen sie lebendig und töteten sie bei dem Brunnen von Bet-Eked, zweiundvierzig Mann, und er ließ nicht einen einzigen von ihnen übrig. |

And when he was departed thence, he lighted on Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him: and he saluted him, and said to him, Is thine heart right, as my heart is with thy heart? And Jehonadab answered, It is. If it be, give me thine hand. And he gave him his hand; and he took him up to him into the chariot.
| 15 Yéndose luego de allí, se encontró con Jonadab hijo de Recab; y después que lo hubo saludado, le dijo: ¿Es recto tu corazón, como el mío es recto con el tuyo? Y Jonadab dijo: Lo es. Pues que lo es, dame la mano. Y él le dio la mano. Luego lo hizo subir consigo en el carro, | 15 Und als er von dort weiterzog, traf er Jonadab, den Sohn Rechabs, der ihm begegnete. Und er grüßte ihn und sprach zu ihm: Ist dein Herz aufrichtig gegen mich wie mein Herz gegen dein Herz? Jonadab sprach: Ja. Da sprach Jehu: Wenn es so ist, dann gib mir deine Hand! Und Jonadab gab ihm seine Hand. Und Jehu ließ ihn zu sich auf den Wagen steigen |

And he said, Come with me, and see my zeal for the LORD. So they made him ride in his chariot.
| 16 y le dijo: Ven conmigo, y verás mi celo por Jehová. Lo pusieron, pues, en su carro. | 16 und sprach: Komm mit mir und sieh meinen Eifer für den HERRN! Und er ließ ihn mit sich fahren auf seinem Wagen. |

And when he came to Samaria, he slew all that remained unto Ahab in Samaria, till he had destroyed him, according to the saying of the LORD, which he spake to Elijah.
| 17 Y luego que Jehú hubo llegado a Samaria, mató a todos los que habían quedado de Acab en Samaria, hasta exterminarlos, conforme a la palabra de Jehová, que había hablado por Elías. | 17 Und als er nach Samaria kam, erschlug er alles, was übrig war von Ahab in Samaria, bis er sein Haus vertilgt hatte nach dem Wort des HERRN, das er zu Elia geredet hatte. |

And Jehu gathered all the people together, and said unto them, Ahab served Baal a little; but Jehu shall serve him much.
| 18 Después reunió Jehú a todo el pueblo, y les dijo: Acab sirvió poco a Baal, mas Jehú lo servirá mucho. | 18 Und Jehu versammelte alles Volk und ließ ihnen sagen: Ahab hat Baal wenig gedient; Jehu will ihm besser dienen. |

Now therefore call unto me all the prophets of Baal, all his servants, and all his priests; let none be wanting: for I have a great sacrifice to do to Baal; whosoever shall be wanting, he shall not live. But Jehu did it in subtilty, to the intent that he might destroy the worshippers of Baal.
| 19 Llamadme, pues, luego a todos los profetas de Baal, a todos sus siervos y a todos sus sacerdotes; que no falte uno, porque tengo un gran sacrificio para Baal; cualquiera que faltare no vivirá. Esto hacía Jehú con astucia, para exterminar a los que honraban a Baal. | 19 So laßt nun zu mir rufen alle Propheten Baals, die in seinem Dienst stehen, und alle seine Priester, daß man niemand vermisse; denn ich habe ein großes Opfer dem Baal zu bringen. Wen man vermissen wird, der soll nicht am Leben bleiben. Aber Jehu tat dies mit Hinterlist, um die Diener Baals umzubringen. |

And Jehu said, Proclaim a solemn assembly for Baal. And they proclaimed it.
| 20 Y dijo Jehú: Santificad un día solemne a Baal. Y ellos convocaron. | 20 Und Jehu sprach: Feiert dem Baal ein heiliges Fest! Und sie ließen es ausrufen. |

And Jehu sent through all Israel: and all the worshippers of Baal came, so that there was not a man left that came not. And they came into the house of Baal; and the house of Baal was full from one end to another.
| 21 Y envió Jehú por todo Israel, y vinieron todos los siervos de Baal, de tal manera que no hubo ninguno que no viniese. Y entraron en el templo de Baal, y el templo de Baal se llenó de extremo a extremo. | 21 Auch sandte Jehu umher in ganz Israel und ließ alle Diener Baals kommen, daß niemand übrig war, der nicht gekommen wäre. Und sie gingen in das Haus Baals, so daß das Haus Baals voll wurde an allen Enden. |

And he said unto him that was over the vestry, Bring forth vestments for all the worshippers of Baal. And he brought them forth vestments.
| 22 Entonces dijo al que tenía el cargo de las vestiduras: Saca vestiduras para todos los siervos de Baal. Y él les sacó vestiduras. | 22 Da sprach er zu denen, die über die Kleiderkammer gesetzt waren: Bringt allen Dienern Baals Feierkleider heraus! Und sie brachten die Kleider heraus. |

And Jehu went, and Jehonadab the son of Rechab, into the house of Baal, and said unto the worshippers of Baal, Search, and look that there be here with you none of the servants of the LORD, but the worshippers of Baal only.
| 23 Y entró Jehú con Jonadab hijo de Recab en el templo de Baal, y dijo a los siervos de Baal: Mirad y ved que no haya aquí entre vosotros alguno de los siervos de Jehová, sino sólo los siervos de Baal. | 23 Und Jehu ging in das Haus Baals mit Jonadab, dem Sohn Rechabs, und sprach zu den Dienern Baals: Forschet und seht zu, daß hier nicht jemand unter euch sei von den Knechten des HERRN, sondern allein Baals Diener. |

And when they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings, Jehu appointed fourscore men without, and said, If any of the men whom I have brought into your hands escape, he that letteth him go, his life shall be for the life of him.
| 24 Y cuando ellos entraron para hacer sacrificios y holocaustos, Jehú puso fuera a ochenta hombres, y les dijo: Cualquiera que dejare vivo a alguno de aquellos hombres que yo he puesto en vuestras manos, su vida será por la del otro. | 24 Und sie kamen hinein, um Schlachtopfer und Brandopfer darzubringen. Jehu aber stellte außen achtzig Mann auf und sprach: Wenn einer der Männer entrinnt, die ich in eure Hände gebe, so soll euer Leben für sein Leben sein! |

And it came to pass, as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, that Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, Go in, and slay them; let none come forth. And they smote them with the edge of the sword; and the guard and the captains cast them out, and went to the city of the house of Baal.
| 25 Y después que acabaron ellos de hacer el holocausto, Jehú dijo a los de su guardia y a los capitanes: Entrad, y matadlos; que no escape ninguno. Y los mataron a espada, y los dejaron tendidos los de la guardia y los capitanes. Y fueron hasta el lugar santo del templo de Baal, | 25 Als er nun die Brandopfer vollendet hatte, sprach Jehu zu der Leibwache und den Rittern: Geht hinein und erschlagt jedermann; laßt niemand entkommen! Und sie schlugen sie mit der Schärfe des Schwerts. Und die Leibwache und die Ritter warfen die Leichname hinaus und drangen in das Innere des Hauses Baals |

And they brought forth the images out of the house of Baal, and burned them.
| 26 y sacaron las estatuas del templo de Baal, y las quemaron. | 26 und brachten hinaus die Bilder der Aschera aus dem Hause Baals und verbrannten sie |

And they brake down the image of Baal, and brake down the house of Baal, and made it a draught house unto this day.
| 27 Y quebraron la estatua de Baal, y derribaron el templo de Baal, y lo convirtieron en letrinas hasta hoy. | 27 und zerbrachen die Steinmale Baals samt dem Hause Baals und machten Stätten des Unrats daraus bis auf diesen Tag. |

Thus Jehu destroyed Baal out of Israel.
| 28 Así exterminó Jehú a Baal de Israel. | 28 So vertilgte Jehu den Baal aus Israel; |

Howbeit from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, Jehu departed not from after them, to wit, the golden calves that were in Bethel, and that were in Dan.
| 29 Con todo eso, Jehú no se apartó de los pecados de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, que hizo pecar a Israel; y dejó en pie los becerros de oro que estaban en Bet-el y en Dan. | 29 aber von den Sünden Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats, der Israel sündigen machte, ließ Jehu nicht ab, von den goldenen Kälbern in Bethel und in Dan. |

And the LORD said unto Jehu, Because thou hast done well in executing that which is right in mine eyes, and hast done unto the house of Ahab according to all that was in mine heart, thy children of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel.
| 30 Y Jehová dijo a Jehú: Por cuanto has hecho bien ejecutando lo recto delante de mis ojos, e hiciste a la casa de Acab conforme a todo lo que estaba en mi corazón, tus hijos se sentarán sobre el trono de Israel hasta la cuarta generación. | 30 Und der HERR sprach zu Jehu: Weil du willig gewesen bist, zu tun, was mir gefallen hat, und am Hause Ahab alles getan hast, was in meinem Herzen war, sollen dir auf dem Thron Israels sitzen deine Söhne bis ins vierte Glied. |

But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the LORD God of Israel with all his heart: for he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, which made Israel to sin.
| 31 Mas Jehú no cuidó de andar en la ley de Jehová Dios de Israel con todo su corazón, ni se apartó de los pecados de Jeroboam, el que había hecho pecar a Israel. | 31 Aber doch hielt Jehu nicht das Gesetz des HERRN, des Gottes Israels, daß er darin wandelte von ganzem Herzen; denn er ließ nicht ab von den Sünden Jerobeams, der Israel sündigen gemacht hatte. |

In those days the LORD began to cut Israel short: and Hazael smote them in all the coasts of Israel;
| 32 En aquellos días comenzó Jehová a cercenar el territorio de Israel; y los derrotó Hazael por todas las fronteras, | 32 Zur selben Zeit fing der HERR an, Stücke von Israel abzutrennen; denn Hasaël schlug sie im ganzen Gebiet Israels |

From Jordan eastward, all the land of Gilead, the Gadites, and the Reubenites, and the Manassites, from Aroer, which is by the river Arnon, even Gilead and Bashan.
| 33 desde el Jordán al nacimiento del sol, toda la tierra de Galaad, de Gad, de Rubén y de Manasés, desde Aroer que está junto al arroyo de Arnón, hasta Galaad y Basán. | 33 vom Jordan gegen der Sonne Aufgang, das ganze Land Gilead, die Gaditer, Rubeniter und Manassiter, von Aroër an, das am Arnon liegt, Gilead und Baschan. |

Now the rest of the acts of Jehu, and all that he did, and all his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
| 34 Los demás hechos de Jehú, y todo lo que hizo, y toda su valentía, ¿no está escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel? | 34 Was aber mehr von Jehu zu sagen ist und alles, was er getan hat, und alle seine tapferen Taten, siehe, das steht geschrieben in der Chronik der Könige von Israel. |

And Jehu slept with his fathers: and they buried him in Samaria. And Jehoahaz his son reigned in his stead.
| 35 Y durmió Jehú con sus padres, y lo sepultaron en Samaria; y reinó en su lugar Joacaz su hijo. | 35 Und Jehu legte sich zu seinen Vätern, und sie begruben ihn zu Samaria. Und sein Sohn Joahas wurde König an seiner Statt. |

And the time that Jehu reigned over Israel in Samaria was twenty and eight years. | 36 El tiempo que reinó Jehú sobre Israel en Samaria fue de veintiocho años. | 36 Die Zeit aber, die Jehu über Israel regiert hat zu Samaria, sind achtundzwanzig Jahre. |
