Then said Solomon, The LORD hath said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.

But I have built an house of habitation for thee, and a place for thy dwelling for ever.

And the king turned his face, and blessed the whole congregation of Israel: and all the congregation of Israel stood.

And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, who hath with his hands fulfilled that which he spake with his mouth to my father David, saying,

Since the day that I brought forth my people out of the land of Egypt I chose no city among all the tribes of Israel to build an house in, that my name might be there; neither chose I any man to be a ruler over my people Israel:

But I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.

Now it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.

But the LORD said to David my father, Forasmuch as it was in thine heart to build an house for my name, thou didst well in that it was in thine heart:
| 8 Mas Jehová dijo a David mi padre: Respecto a haber tenido en tu corazón deseo de edificar casa a mi nombre, bien has hecho en haber tenido esto en tu corazón. | 8 sprach der HERR zu meinem Vater David: Du hast wohlgetan, daß du im Sinn hast, meinem Namen ein Haus zu bauen. |

Notwithstanding thou shalt not build the house; but thy son which shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house for my name.
| 9 Pero tú no edificarás la casa, sino tu hijo que saldrá de tus lomos, él edificará casa a mi nombre. | 9 Doch nicht du sollst das Haus bauen, sondern dein Sohn, der von dir kommen wird, soll meinem Namen das Haus bauen. |

The LORD therefore hath performed his word that he hath spoken: for I am risen up in the room of David my father, and am set on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built the house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.

And in it have I put the ark, wherein is the covenant of the LORD, that he made with the children of Israel.
| 11 Y en ella he puesto el arca, en la cual está el pacto de Jehová que celebró con los hijos de Israel. | 11 und habe die Lade hineingebracht, in der die Tafeln des Bundes des HERRN sind, den er mit den Israeliten geschlossen hat. |

And he stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands:

For Solomon had made a brasen scaffold, of five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court: and upon it he stood, and kneeled down upon his knees before all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven,

And said, O LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee in the heaven, nor in the earth; which keepest covenant, and shewest mercy unto thy servants, that walk before thee with all their hearts:
| 14 Jehová Dios de Israel, no hay Dios semejante a ti en el cielo ni en la tierra, que guardas el pacto y la misericordia con tus siervos que caminan delante de ti de todo su corazón; | 14 und sprach: HERR, Gott Israels, es ist kein Gott dir gleich weder im Himmel noch auf Erden, der du hältst den Bund und die Barmherzigkeit deinen Knechten, die vor dir wandeln von ganzem Herzen. |

Thou which hast kept with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him; and spakest with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day.
| 15 que has guardado a tu siervo David mi padre lo que le prometiste; tú lo dijiste con tu boca, y con tu mano lo has cumplido, como se ve en este día. | 15 Du hast deinem Knecht David, meinem Vater, gehalten, was du ihm zugesagt hast; mit deinem Mund hast du es geredet, und mit deiner Hand hast du es erfüllt, so wie es heute ist. |

Now therefore, O LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit upon the throne of Israel; yet so that thy children take heed to their way to walk in my law, as thou hast walked before me.
| 16 Ahora, pues, Jehová Dios de Israel, cumple a tu siervo David mi padre lo que le has prometido, diciendo: No faltará de ti varón delante de mí, que se siente en el trono de Israel, con tal que tus hijos guarden su camino, andando en mi ley, como tú has andado delante de mí. | 16 Nun, HERR, Gott Israels, halte deinem Knecht David, meinem Vater, was du ihm zugesagt hast: Es soll dir nicht fehlen an einem Mann, der vor mir steht, der auf dem Thron Israels sitzt, sofern deine Söhne ihren Weg bewahren, daß sie wandeln in meinem Gesetz, wie du vor mir gewandelt bist. |

Now then, O LORD God of Israel, let thy word be verified, which thou hast spoken unto thy servant David.
| 17 Ahora, pues, oh Jehová Dios de Israel, cúmplase tu palabra que dijiste a tu siervo David. | 17 Nun, HERR, Gott Israels, laß dein Wort wahr werden, das du deinem Knecht David zugesagt hast. |

But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have built!
| 18 Mas ¿es verdad que Dios habitará con el hombre en la tierra? He aquí, los cielos y los cielos de los cielos no te pueden contener; ¿cuánto menos esta casa que he edificado? | 18 Aber sollte Gott wirklich bei den Menschen auf Erden wohnen? Have respect therefore to the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to hearken unto the cry and the prayer which thy servant prayeth before thee:

That thine eyes may be open upon this house day and night, upon the place whereof thou hast said that thou wouldest put thy name there; to hearken unto the prayer which thy servant prayeth toward this place.
| 20 Que tus ojos estén abiertos sobre esta casa de día y de noche, sobre el lugar del cual dijiste: Mi nombre estará allí; que oigas la oración con que tu siervo ora en este lugar. | 20 Laß deine Augen offen sein über diesem Hause Tag und Nacht, über der Stätte, von der du gesagt hast, du wollest deinen Namen daselbst wohnen lassen, daß du hörest das Gebet, das dein Knecht an dieser Stätte beten wird. |

Hearken therefore unto the supplications of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, which they shall make toward this place: hear thou from thy dwelling place, even from heaven; and when thou hearest, forgive.
| 21 Asimismo que oigas el ruego de tu siervo, y de tu pueblo Israel, cuando en este lugar hicieren oración, que tú oirás desde los cielos, desde el lugar de tu morada; que oigas y perdones. | 21 So höre nun das Flehen deines Knechts und deines Volkes Israel, wenn sie bitten werden an dieser Stätte; höre es von der Stätte deiner Wohnung, vom Himmel her, und wenn du es hörst, wollest du gnädig sein! |

If a man sin against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him to make him swear, and the oath come before thine altar in this house;
| 22 Si alguno pecare contra su prójimo, y se le exigiere juramento, y viniere a jurar ante tu altar en esta casa, | 22 Wenn jemand an seinem Nächsten sündigt und es wird ihm ein Fluch auferlegt, sich selbst zu verfluchen, und er kommt und verflucht sich vor deinem Altar in diesem Hause, |

Then hear thou from heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, by requiting the wicked, by recompensing his way upon his own head; and by justifying the righteous, by giving him according to his righteousness.
| 23 tu oirás desde los cielos, y actuarás, y juzgarás a tus siervos, dando la paga al impío, haciendo recaer su proceder sobre su cabeza, y justificando al justo al darle conforme a su justicia. | 23 so wollest du hören im Himmel und Recht schaffen deinen Knechten, daß du den Frevler als Frevler erkennen und seine Tat auf sein Haupt kommen läßt, den aber, der im Recht ist, gerecht sprichst und ihm gibst nach seiner Gerechtigkeit. |

And if thy people Israel be put to the worse before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee; and shall return and confess thy name, and pray and make supplication before thee in this house;
| 24 Si tu pueblo Israel fuere derrotado delante del enemigo por haber prevaricado contra ti, y se convirtiere, y confesare tu nombre, y rogare delante ti en esta casa, | 24 Wenn dein Volk Israel vor dem Feind geschlagen wird, weil sie an dir gesündigt haben, und sie bekehren sich dann und bekennen deinen Namen, bitten und flehen vor dir in diesem Hause, |

Then hear thou from the heavens, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest to them and to their fathers.
| 25 tú oirás desde los cielos, y perdonarás el pecado de tu pueblo Israel, y les harás volver a la tierra que diste a ellos y a sus padres. | 25 so wollest du hören vom Himmel her und vergeben die Sünde deines Volkes Israel und sie in das Land zurückbringen, das du ihnen und ihren Vätern gegeben hast. |

When the heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; yet if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou dost afflict them;
| 26 Si los cielos se cerraren y no hubiere lluvias, por haber pecado contra ti, si oraren a ti hacia este lugar, y confesaren tu nombre, y se convirtieren de sus pecados, cuando los afligieres, | 26 Wenn der Himmel verschlossen ist, daß es nicht regnet, weil sie an dir gesündigt haben, und sie beten dann an dieser Stätte und bekennen deinen Namen und bekehren sich von ihren Sünden, weil du sie bedrängt hast, |

Then hear thou from heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, when thou hast taught them the good way, wherein they should walk; and send rain upon thy land, which thou hast given unto thy people for an inheritance.
| 27 tú los oirás en los cielos, y perdonarás el pecado de tus siervos y de tu pueblo Israel, y les enseñarás el buen camino para que anden en él, y darás lluvia sobre tu tierra, que diste por heredad a tu pueblo. | 27 so wollest du hören im Himmel und vergeben die Sünde deiner Knechte und deines Volkes Israel, daß du sie den guten Weg lehrest, auf dem sie wandeln sollen, und regnen lassest auf dein Land, das du deinem Volk zum Erbe gegeben hast. |

If there be dearth in the land, if there be pestilence, if there be blasting, or mildew, locusts, or caterpillers; if their enemies besiege them in the cities of their land; whatsoever sore or whatsoever sickness there be:
| 28 Si hubiere hambre en la tierra, o si hubiere pestilencia, si hubiere tizoncillo o añublo, langosta o pulgón; o si los sitiaren sus enemigos en la tierra en donde moren; cualquiera plaga o enfermedad que sea; | 28 Wenn eine Hungersnot im Lande sein wird oder Pest oder Dürre, Getreidebrand, Heuschrecken, Raupen, oder wenn sein Feind im Lande seine Städte belagert oder irgendeine Plage oder Krankheit da ist, - |

Then what prayer or what supplication soever shall be made of any man, or of all thy people Israel, when every one shall know his own sore and his own grief, and shall spread forth his hands in this house:
| 29 toda oración y todo ruego que hiciere cualquier hombre, o todo tu pueblo Israel, cualquiera que conociere su llaga y su dolor en su corazón, si extendiere sus manos hacia esta casa, | 29 wer dann bittet oder fleht, es seien einzelne Menschen oder dein ganzes Volk Israel, wenn jemand seine Plage und Schmerzen fühlt und seine Hände ausbreitet zu diesem Hause, |

Then hear thou from heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and render unto every man according unto all his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou only knowest the hearts of the children of men:)
| 30 tú oirás desde los cielos, desde el lugar de tu morada, y perdonarás, y darás a cada uno conforme a sus caminos, habiendo conocido su corazón; porque sólo tú conoces el corazón de los hijos de los hombres; | 30 so wollest du hören vom Himmel her, vom Sitz deiner Wohnung, und gnädig sein und jedermann geben nach all seinem Wandel, wie du sein Herz erkennst - denn du allein erkennst das Herz der Menschenkinder -, |

That they may fear thee, to walk in thy ways, so long as they live in the land which thou gavest unto our fathers.
| 31 para que te teman y anden en tus caminos, todos los días que vivieren sobre la faz de la tierra que tú diste a nuestros padres. | 31 damit sie dich fürchten und wandeln in deinen Wegen alle Tage, solange sie in dem Lande leben, das du unsern Vätern gegeben hast. |

Moreover concerning the stranger, which is not of thy people Israel, but is come from a far country for thy great name's sake, and thy mighty hand, and thy stretched out arm; if they come and pray in this house;
| 32 Y también al extranjero que no fuere de tu pueblo Israel, que hubiere venido de lejanas tierras a causa de tu gran nombre y de tu mano poderosa, y de tu brazo extendido, si viniere y orare hacia esta casa, | 32 Auch wenn ein Fremder, der nicht von deinem Volk Israel ist, aus fernen Landen kommt um deines großen Namens und deiner mächtigen Hand und deines ausgereckten Arms willen und zu diesem Hause hin betet, |

Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for; that all people of the earth may know thy name, and fear thee, as doth thy people Israel, and may know that this house which I have built is called by thy name.
| 33 tú oirás desde los cielos, desde el lugar de tu morada, y harás conforme a todas las cosas por las cuales hubiere clamado a ti el extranjero; para que todos los pueblos de la tierra conozcan tu nombre, y te teman así como tu pueblo Israel, y sepan que tu nombre es invocado sobre esta casa que yo he edificado. | 33 so wollest du hören vom Himmel her, vom Sitz deiner Wohnung, und alles tun, worum er dich anruft, auf daß alle Völker auf Erden deinen Namen erkennen und dich fürchten wie dein Volk Israel und innewerden, daß dein Name über diesem Hause genannt ist, das ich gebaut habe. |

If thy people go out to war against their enemies by the way that thou shalt send them, and they pray unto thee toward this city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name;
| 34 Si tu pueblo saliere a la guerra contra sus enemigos por el camino que tú les enviares, y oraren a ti hacia esta ciudad que tú elegiste, hacia la casa que he edificado a tu nombre, | 34 Wenn dein Volk auszieht in den Krieg gegen seine Feinde auf dem Wege, den du sie senden wirst, und sie zu dir beten nach dieser Stadt hin, die du erwählt hast, und nach dem Hause hin, das ich deinem Namen gebaut habe, |

Then hear thou from the heavens their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.
| 35 tú oirás desde los cielos su oración y su ruego, y ampararás su causa. | 35 so wollest du ihr Gebet und Flehen hören vom Himmel her und ihnen zu ihrem Recht helfen. |

If they sin against thee, (for there is no man which sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them over before their enemies, and they carry them away captives unto a land far off or near;
| 36 Si pecaren contra ti (pues no hay hombre que no peque), y te enojares contra ellos, y los entregares delante de sus enemigos, para que los que los tomaren los lleven cautivos a tierra de enemigos, lejos o cerca, | 36 Wenn sie an dir sündigen werden - denn es gibt keinen Menschen, der nicht sündigt - und du über sie zürnst und sie vor ihren Feinden dahingibst und diese sie gefangen wegführen in ein fernes oder nahes Land |

Yet if they bethink themselves in the land whither they are carried captive, and turn and pray unto thee in the land of their captivity, saying, We have sinned, we have done amiss, and have dealt wickedly;
| 37 y ellos volvieren en sí en la tierra donde fueren llevados cautivos; si se convirtieren, y oraren a ti en la tierra de su cautividad, y dijeren: Pecamos, hemos hecho inicuamente, impíamente hemos hecho; | 37 und sie nehmen es sich dann zu Herzen in dem Lande, in dem sie gefangen sind, und bekehren sich und flehen zu dir im Lande ihrer Feinde und sprechen: "Wir haben gesündigt, übel getan und sind gottlos gewesen", |

If they return to thee with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, whither they have carried them captives, and pray toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, and toward the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house which I have built for thy name:
| 38 si se convirtieren a ti de todo su corazón y de toda su alma en la tierra de su cautividad, donde los hubieren llevado cautivos, y oraren hacia la tierra que tú diste a sus padres, hacia la ciudad que tú elegiste, y hacia la casa que he edificado a tu nombre; | 38 und sich von ganzem Herzen und von ganzer Seele zu dir bekehren im Lande ihrer Feinde, in dem man sie gefangen hält, und sie beten nach ihrem Lande hin, das du ihren Vätern gegeben hast, und nach der Stadt hin, die du erwählt hast, und nach dem Hause hin, das ich deinem Namen gebaut habe, |

Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause, and forgive thy people which have sinned against thee.
| 39 tú oirás desde los cielos, desde el lugar de tu morada, su oración y su ruego, y ampararás su causa, y perdonarás a tu pueblo que pecó contra ti. | 39 so wollest du ihr Gebet und Flehen hören vom Himmel her, vom Sitz deiner Wohnung, und ihnen zu ihrem Recht helfen und deinem Volk vergeben, das an dir gesündigt hat. |

Now, my God, let, I beseech thee, thine eyes be open, and let thine ears be attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.
| 40 Ahora, pues, oh Dios mío, te ruego que estén abiertos tus ojos y atentos tus oídos a la oración en este lugar. | 40 So laß nun, mein Gott, deine Augen offen sein und deine Ohren aufmerken auf das Gebet an dieser Stätte. |

Now therefore arise, O LORD God, into thy resting place, thou, and the ark of thy strength: let thy priests, O LORD God, be clothed with salvation, and let thy saints rejoice in goodness.
| 41 Oh Jehová Dios, levántate ahora para habitar en tu reposo, tú y el arca de tu poder; oh Jehová Dios, sean vestidos de salvación tus sacerdotes, y tus santos se regocijen en tu bondad. | 41 Und nun mache dich auf, HERR, Gott, zu deiner Ruhe, du und die Lade deiner Macht. Laß deine Priester, HERR, Gott, mit Heil angetan werden und deine Heiligen sich freuen des Guten. |

O LORD God, turn not away the face of thine anointed: remember the mercies of David thy servant. | 42 Jehová Dios, no rechaces a tu ungido; acuérdate de tus misericordias para con David tu siervo. | 42 Du, HERR, Gott, weise nicht ab das Antlitz deines Gesalbten! Gedenk an die Gnaden, die du deinem Knechte David verheißen hast. |
