And Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead, and strengthened himself against Israel.

And he placed forces in all the fenced cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken.

And the LORD was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and sought not unto Baalim;
| 3 Y Jehová estuvo con Josafat, porque anduvo en los primeros caminos de David su padre, y no buscó a los baales, | 3 Und der HERR war mit Joschafat; denn er wandelte wie vormals sein Vater David und suchte nicht die Baale, |

But sought to the LORD God of his father, and walked in his commandments, and not after the doings of Israel.
| 4 sino que buscó al Dios de su padre, y anduvo en sus mandamientos, y no según las obras de Israel. | 4 sondern den Gott seines Vaters und wandelte in seinen Geboten und nicht so wie Israel. |

Therefore the LORD stablished the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah brought to Jehoshaphat presents; and he had riches and honour in abundance.
| 5 Jehová, por tanto, confirmó el reino en su mano, y todo Judá dio a Josafat presentes; y tuvo riquezas y gloria en abundancia. | 5 Darum stärkte der HERR das Königtum in seiner Hand. Und ganz Juda gab Joschafat Geschenke, und er hatte großen Reichtum und viel Ehre. |

And his heart was lifted up in the ways of the LORD: moreover he took away the high places and groves out of Judah.
| 6 Y se animó su corazón en los caminos de Jehová, y quitó los lugares altos y las imágenes de Asera de en medio de Judá. | 6 Und als er in den Wegen des HERRN noch mutiger wurde, entfernte er wieder die Opferhöhen und die Ascherabilder aus Juda. |

Also in the third year of his reign he sent to his princes, even to Ben-hail, and to Obadiah, and to Zechariah, and to Nethaneel, and to Michaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah.
| 7 Al tercer año de su reinado envió sus príncipes Ben-hail, Abdías, Zacarías, Natanael y Micaías, para que enseñasen en las ciudades de Judá; | 7 Im dritten Jahr seiner Herrschaft sandte er seine Oberen Ben-Hajil, Obadja, Secharja, Netanel und Michaja, daß sie in den Städten Judas lehren sollten, |

And with them he sent Levites, even Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijah, and Tob-adonijah, Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, priests.
| 8 y con ellos a los levitas Semaías, Netanías, Zebadías, Asael, Semiramot, Jonatán, Adonías, Tobías y Tobadonías; y con ellos a los sacerdotes Elisama y Joram. | 8 und mit ihnen die Leviten Schemaja, Netanja, Sebadja, Asaël, Schemiramot, Jonatan, Adonija, Tobija und Tob-Adonija und mit ihnen die Priester Elischama und Joram. |

And they taught in Judah, and had the book of the law of the LORD with them, and went about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught the people.
| 9 Y enseñaron en Judá, teniendo consigo el libro de la Ley de Jehová, y recorrieron todas las ciudades de Judá enseñando al pueblo. | 9 Und sie lehrten in Juda und hatten das Gesetzbuch des HERRN bei sich und zogen in allen Städten Judas umher und lehrten das Volk. |

And the fear of the LORD fell upon all the kingdoms of the lands that were round about Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat.
| 10 Y cayó el pavor de Jehová sobre todos los reinos de las tierras que estaban alrededor de Judá, y no osaron hacer guerra contra Josafat. | 10 Da kam der Schrecken des HERRN über alle Königreiche der Länder, die um Juda herum lagen, so daß sie nicht gegen Joschafat kämpften. |

Also some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents, and tribute silver; and the Arabians brought him flocks, seven thousand and seven hundred rams, and seven thousand and seven hundred he goats.
| 11 Y traían de los filisteos presentes a Josafat, y tributos de plata. Los árabes también le trajeron ganados: siete mil setecientos carneros y siete mil setecientos machos cabríos. | 11 Sogar einige von den Philistern brachten Joschafat Geschenke und Silber als Abgabe; auch die Araber brachten ihm ebentausendundsiebenhundert Widder und siebentausendundsiebenhundert Böcke. |

And Jehoshaphat waxed great exceedingly; and he built in Judah castles, and cities of store.

And he had much business in the cities of Judah: and the men of war, mighty men of valour, were in Jerusalem.

And these are the numbers of them according to the house of their fathers: Of Judah, the captains of thousands; Adnah the chief, and with him mighty men of valour three hundred thousand.

And next to him was Jehohanan the captain, and with him two hundred and fourscore thousand.

And next him was Amasiah the son of Zichri, who willingly offered himself unto the LORD; and with him two hundred thousand mighty men of valour.
| 16 Tras éste, Amasías hijo de Zicri, el cual se había ofrecido voluntariamente a Jehová, y con él doscientos mil hombres valientes. | 16 neben ihm Amasja, der Sohn Sichris, der sich freiwillig in den Dienst des HERRN gestellt hatte, und unter ihm zweihunderttausend streitbare Männer; |

And of Benjamin; Eliada a mighty man of valour, and with him armed men with bow and shield two hundred thousand.
| 17 De Benjamín, Eliada, hombre muy valeroso, y con él doscientos mil armados de arco y escudo. | 17 und aus Benjamin: Eljada, ein streitbarer Mann, und unter ihm zweihunderttausend, die mit Bogen und Schild gerüstet waren; |

And next him was Jehozabad, and with him an hundred and fourscore thousand ready prepared for the war.
| 18 Tras éste, Jozabad, y con él ciento ochenta mil dispuestos para la guerra. | 18 neben ihm Josabad und unter ihm hundertundachtzigtausend zum Kampf gerüstete Männer. |

These waited on the king, beside those whom the king put in the fenced cities throughout all Judah. | 19 Estos eran siervos del rey, sin los que el rey había puesto en las ciudades fortificadas en todo Judá. | 19 Diese alle dienten dem König außer denen, die der König in die festen Städte von ganz Juda gelegt hatte. |
