Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam began Abijah to reign over Judah.

He reigned three years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Michaiah the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah. And there was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.
| 2 y reinó tres años en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre fue Micaías hija de Uriel de Gabaa. Y hubo guerra entre Abías y Jeroboam. | 2 und regierte drei Jahre zu Jerusalem. Seine Mutter hieß Michaja, eine Tochter Urïls, aus Gibea. Es war aber Krieg zwischen Abija und Jerobeam. |

And Abijah set the battle in array with an army of valiant men of war, even four hundred thousand chosen men: Jeroboam also set the battle in array against him with eight hundred thousand chosen men, being mighty men of valour.
| 3 Entonces Abías ordenó batalla con un ejército de cuatrocientos mil hombres de guerra, valerosos y escogidos; y Jeroboam ordenó batalla contra él con ochocientos mil hombres escogidos, fuertes y valerosos. | 3 Und Abija rüstete sich zum Kampf mit einem Heer von Kriegsleuten, vierhunderttausend Mann, auserlesenen Leuten. Jerobeam aber rüstete sich, gegen ihn zu kämpfen, mit achthunderttausend auserlesenen Leuten, streitbaren Männern. |

And Abijah stood up upon mount Zemaraim, which is in mount Ephraim, and said, Hear me, thou Jeroboam, and all Israel;
| 4 Y se levantó Abías sobre el monte Zemaraim, que está en los montes de Efraín, y dijo: Oídme, Jeroboam y todo Israel. | 4 Und Abija stellte sich hin oben auf den Berg Zemarajim, der im Gebirge Ephraim liegt, und sprach: Hört mir zu, Jerobeam und ganz Israel! |

Ought ye not to know that the LORD God of Israel gave the kingdom over Israel to David for ever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt?
| 5 ¿No sabéis vosotros que Jehová Dios de Israel dio el reino a David sobre Israel para siempre, a él y a sus hijos, bajo pacto de sal? | 5 Wisset ihr nicht, daß der HERR, der Gott Israels, das Königtum über Israel David gegeben hat ewiglich, ihm und seinen Söhnen durch einen Salzbund? |

Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, is risen up, and hath rebelled against his lord.
| 6 Pero Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, siervo de Salomón hijo de David, se levantó y rebeló contra su señor. | 6 Aber Jerobeam, der Sohn Nebats, der Knecht Salomos, des Sohnes Davids, erhob sich und wurde seinem Herrn abtrünnig. |

And there are gathered unto him vain men, the children of Belial, and have strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and tenderhearted, and could not withstand them.
| 7 Y se juntaron con él hombres vanos y perversos, y pudieron más que Roboam hijo de Salomón, porque Roboam era joven y pusilánime, y no se defendió de ellos. | 7 Und es schlugen sich auf seine Seite ruchlose Leute, böse Menschen, und wurden mächtiger als Rehabeam, der Sohn Salomos; denn Rehabeam war noch jung und zaghaft, so daß er sich nicht gegen sie wehrte. |

And now ye think to withstand the kingdom of the LORD in the hand of the sons of David; and ye be a great multitude, and there are with you golden calves, which Jeroboam made you for gods.
| 8 Y ahora vosotros tratáis de resistir al reino de Jehová en mano de los hijos de David, porque sois muchos, y tenéis con vosotros los becerros de oro que Jeroboam os hizo por dioses. | 8 Nun denkt ihr euch zu empören gegen das Königtum des HERRN, das in der Hand der Söhne Davids ist, weil ihr ein großer Haufe seid und die goldenen Kälber bei euch habt, die euch Jerobeam zu Göttern gemacht hat. |

Have ye not cast out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and have made you priests after the manner of the nations of other lands? so that whosoever cometh to consecrate himself with a young bullock and seven rams, the same may be a priest of them that are no gods.
| 9 ¿No habéis arrojado vosotros a los sacerdotes de Jehová, a los hijos de Aarón y a los levitas, y os habéis designado sacerdotes a la manera de los pueblos de otras tierras, para que cualquiera venga a consagrarse con un becerro y siete carneros, y así sea sacerdote de los que no son dioses? | 9 Habt ihr nicht die Priester des HERRN, die Söhne Aaron, und die Leviten verstoßen und euch eigene Priester gemacht wie sonst die Völker in den Ländern? Wer da kam mit einem jungen Stier und sieben Widdern, um sich die Hand füllen zu lassen, der wurde Priester derer, die nicht Götter sind. |

But as for us, the LORD is our God, and we have not forsaken him; and the priests, which minister unto the LORD, are the sons of Aaron, and the Levites wait upon their business:
| 10 Mas en cuanto a nosotros, Jehová es nuestro Dios, y no le hemos dejado; y los sacerdotes que ministran delante de Jehová son los hijos de Aarón, y los que están en la obra son levitas. | 10 Wir aber sind gewiß: Der HERR ist unser Gott; ihn haben wir nicht verlassen; denn die Priester, die dem HERRN dienen, sind die Söhne Aaron, und die Leviten stehen in ihrem Amt, |

And they burn unto the LORD every morning and every evening burnt sacrifices and sweet incense: the shewbread also set they in order upon the pure table; and the candlestick of gold with the lamps thereof, to burn every evening: for we keep the charge of the LORD our God; but ye have forsaken him.
| 11 los cuales queman para Jehová los holocaustos cada mañana y cada tarde, y el incienso aromático; y ponen los panes sobre la mesa limpia, y el candelero de oro con sus lámparas para que ardan cada tarde; porque nosotros guardamos la ordenanza de Jehová nuestro Dios, mas vosotros le habéis dejado. | 11 um dem HERRN alle Morgen und alle Abende Brandopfer darzubringen, dazu das gute Räucherwerk, und Brote aufzulegen auf den Tisch aus reinem Gold und den goldenen Leuchter anzuzünden mit seinen Lampen alle Abende; denn wir halten die Gebote des HERRN, unseres Gottes, ihr aber habt ihn verlassen. |

And, behold, God himself is with us for our captain, and his priests with sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight ye not against the LORD God of your fathers; for ye shall not prosper.
| 12 Y he aquí Dios está con nosotros por jefe, y sus sacerdotes con las trompetas del júbilo para que suenen contra vosotros. Oh hijos de Israel, no peleéis contra Jehová el Dios de vuestros padres, porque no prosperaréis. | 12 Siehe, mit uns ist an der Spitze Gott und seine Priester und die Kriegstrompeten, um sie gegen euch zu blasen. Ihr Israeliten, streitet nicht gegen den HERRN, den Gott eurer Väter; denn es wird euch nicht gelingen! |

But Jeroboam caused an ambushment to come about behind them: so they were before Judah, and the ambushment was behind them.
| 13 Pero Jeroboam hizo tender una emboscada para venir a ellos por la espalda; y estando así delante de ellos, la emboscada estaba a espaldas de Judá. | 13 Aber Jerobeam legte einen Hinterhalt, daß er ihnen in den Rücken fiele, so daß sie vor Juda waren und der Hinterhalt hinter Juda. |

And when Judah looked back, behold, the battle was before and behind: and they cried unto the LORD, and the priests sounded with the trumpets.
| 14 Y cuando miró Judá, he aquí que tenía batalla por delante y a las espaldas; por lo que clamaron a Jehová, y los sacerdotes tocaron las trompetas. | 14 Als sich nun Juda umwandte, siehe, da wurden sie von vorn und von hinten angegriffen. Da schrien sie zum HERRN, und die Priester bliesen die Trompeten, |

Then the men of Judah gave a shout: and as the men of Judah shouted, it came to pass, that God smote Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.
| 15 Entonces los de Judá gritaron con fuerza; y así que ellos alzaron el grito, Dios desbarató a Jeroboam y a todo Israel delante de Abías y de Judá; | 15 und die Männer von Juda erhoben das Kriegsgeschrei. Und als sie schrien, schlug Gott Jerobeam und ganz Israel vor Abija und Juda. |

And the children of Israel fled before Judah: and God delivered them into their hand.
| 16 y huyeron los hijos de Israel delante de Judá, y Dios los entregó en sus manos. | 16 Und Israel floh vor Juda, und Gott gab sie in ihre Hände, |

And Abijah and his people slew them with a great slaughter: so there fell down slain of Israel five hundred thousand chosen men.
| 17 Y Abías y su gente hicieron en ellos una gran matanza, y cayeron heridos de Israel quinientos mil hombres escogidos. | 17 so daß Abija mit seinem Volk sie hart schlug, und es blieben von Israel erschlagen liegen fünfhunderttausend auserlesene Leute. |

Thus the children of Israel were brought under at that time, and the children of Judah prevailed, because they relied upon the LORD God of their fathers.
| 18 Así fueron humillados los hijos de Israel en aquel tiempo, y los hijos de Judá prevalecieron, porque se apoyaban en Jehová el Dios de sus padres. | 18 Also wurden die Männer von Israel zu der Zeit gedemütigt, aber die Männer von Juda blieben unverzagt; denn sie verließen sich auf den HERRN, den Gott ihrer Väter. |

And Abijah pursued after Jeroboam, and took cities from him, Bethel with the towns thereof, and Jeshanah with the towns thereof, and Ephrain with the towns thereof.
| 19 Y siguió Abías a Jeroboam, y le tomó algunas ciudades, a Bet-el con sus aldeas, a Jesana con sus aldeas, y a Efraín con sus aldeas. | 19 Und Abija jagte Jerobeam nach und gewann ihm Städte ab: Bethel mit seinen Ortschaften, Jeschana mit seinen Ortschaften und Efron mit seinen Ortschaften, |

Neither did Jeroboam recover strength again in the days of Abijah: and the LORD struck him, and he died.
| 20 Y nunca más tuvo Jeroboam poder en los días de Abías; y Jehová lo hirió, y murió. | 20 so daß Jerobeam keine Macht mehr hatte, solange Abija lebte. Und der HERR schlug ihn, daß er starb. |

But Abijah waxed mighty, and married fourteen wives, and begat twenty and two sons, and sixteen daughters.
| 21 Pero Abías se hizo más poderoso. Tomó catorce mujeres, y engendró veintidós hijos y dieciséis hijas. | 21 Abija aber wurde mächtig. Und er nahm vierzehn Frauen und zeugte zweiundzwanzig Söhne und sechzehn Töchter. |
