And when Rehoboam was come to Jerusalem, he gathered of the house of Judah and Benjamin an hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men, which were warriors, to fight against Israel, that he might bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam.
| 1 Cuando vino Roboam a Jerusalén, reunió de la casa de Judá y de Benjamín a ciento ochenta mil hombres escogidos de guerra, para pelear contra Israel y hacer volver el reino a Roboam. | 1 Und als Rehabeam nach Jerusalem kam, sammelte er das Haus Juda und Benjamin, hundertundachtzigtausend streitbare Männer, um gegen Israel zu kämpfen, damit sie das Königtum an Rehabeam zurückbrächten. |

But the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
| 2 Mas vino la palabra de Jehová a Semaías varón de Dios, | 2 Aber des HERRN Wort kam zu Schemaja, dem Mann Gottes: |

Speak unto Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin, saying,
| 3 Habla a Roboam hijo de Salomón, rey de Judá, y a todos los israelitas en Judá y Benjamín, | 3 Sage Rehabeam, dem Sohn Salomos, dem König von Juda, und all denen von Israel, die in Juda und Benjamin wohnen: |

Thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren: return every man to his house: for this thing is done of me. And they obeyed the words of the LORD, and returned from going against Jeroboam.
| 4 Así ha dicho Jehová: No subáis, ni peleéis contra vuestros hermanos; vuélvase cada uno a su casa, porque yo he hecho esto. Y ellos oyeron la palabra de Jehová y se volvieron, y no fueron contra Jeroboam. | 4 So spricht der HERR: Ihr sollt nicht hinaufziehen und gegen eure Brüder kämpfen. Ein jeder gehe wieder heim; denn das ist von mir geschehen! - Sie gehorchten den Worten des HERRN, kehrten um und zogen nicht gegen Jerobeam. |

And Rehoboam dwelt in Jerusalem, and built cities for defence in Judah.

He built even Bethlehem, and Etam, and Tekoa,

And Beth-zur, and Shoco, and Adullam,

And Adoraim, and Lachish, and Azekah,

And Zorah, and Aijalon, and Hebron, which are in Judah and in Benjamin fenced cities.

And he fortified the strong holds, and put captains in them, and store of victual, and of oil and wine.
| 11 Reforzó también las fortalezas, y puso en ellas capitanes, y provisiones, vino y aceite; | 11 Und er machte die Festungen stark und setzte Hauptleute über sie und legte Vorrat von Speise, Öl und Wein, |

And in every several city he put shields and spears, and made them exceeding strong, having Judah and Benjamin on his side.
| 12 y en todas las ciudades puso escudos y lanzas. Las fortificó, pues, en gran manera; y Judá y Benjamín le estaban sujetos. | 12 sowie Schilde und Spieße in alle Städte; so machte er sie sehr stark. Und Juda und Benjamin waren ihm untertan. |

And the priests and the Levites that were in all Israel resorted to him out of all their coasts.
| 13 Y los sacerdotes y levitas que estaban en todo Israel, se juntaron a él desde todos los lugares donde vivían. | 13 Die Priester aber und die Leviten von ganz Israel hielten sich zu ihm aus ihrem ganzen Gebiet; |

For the Levites left their suburbs and their possession, and came to Judah and Jerusalem: for Jeroboam and his sons had cast them off from executing the priest's office unto the LORD:
| 14 Porque los levitas dejaban sus ejidos y sus posesiones, y venían a Judá y a Jerusalén; pues Jeroboam y sus hijos los excluyeron del ministerio de Jehová. | 14 denn die Leviten verließen ihre Ortschaften und ihre Habe und kamen nach Juda und Jerusalem. - Denn Jerobeam und seine Söhne hatten sie verstoßen, daß sie das Priesteramt vor dem HERRN nicht mehr ausüben konnten, |

And he ordained him priests for the high places, and for the devils, and for the calves which he had made.
| 15 Y él designó sus propios sacerdotes para los lugares altos, y para los demonios, y para los becerros que él había hecho. | 15 und er bestellte sich Priester für die Höhen und die Feldgeister und für die Kälber, die er machen ließ. - |

And after them out of all the tribes of Israel such as set their hearts to seek the LORD God of Israel came to Jerusalem, to sacrifice unto the LORD God of their fathers.
| 16 Tras aquellos acudieron también de todas las tribus de Israel los que habían puesto su corazón en buscar a Jehová Dios de Israel; y vinieron a Jerusalén para ofrecer sacrificios a Jehová, el Dios de sus padres. | 16 Und die den HERRN, den Gott Israels, von Herzen suchten, folgten den Leviten aus allen Stämmen Israels nach Jerusalem, daß sie opferten dem HERRN, dem Gott ihrer Väter. |

So they strengthened the kingdom of Judah, and made Rehoboam the son of Solomon strong, three years: for three years they walked in the way of David and Solomon.
| 17 Así fortalecieron el reino de Judá, y confirmaron a Roboam hijo de Salomón, por tres años; porque tres años anduvieron en el camino de David y de Salomón. | 17 So machten sie das Königreich Juda mächtig und stärkten Rehabeam, den Sohn Salomos, für drei Jahre; denn drei Jahre wandelten sie in dem Wege Davids und Salomos. |

And Rehoboam took him Mahalath the daughter of Jerimoth the son of David to wife, and Abihail the daughter of Eliab the son of Jesse;
| 18 Y tomó Roboam por mujer a Mahalat hija de Jerimot, hijo de David, y de Abihail hija de Eliab, hijo de Isaí, | 18 Und Rehabeam nahm zur Frau Mahalat, die Tochter Jerimots, des Sohnes Davids, und der Abihajil, der Tochter Eliabs, des Sohnes Isais. |

Which bare him children; Jeush, and Shamariah, and Zaham.
| 19 la cual le dio a luz estos hijos: Jeús, Semarías y Zaham. | 19 Die gebar ihm diese Söhne: Jëusch, Schemarja und Saham. |

And after her he took Maachah the daughter of Absalom; which bare him Abijah, and Attai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.
| 20 Después de ella tomó a Maaca hija de Absalón, la cual le dio a luz Abías, Atai, Ziza y Selomit. | 20 Nach ihr nahm er Maacha, die Tochter Abischaloms, zur Frau; die gebar ihm Abija, Attai, Sisa und Schelomit. |

And Rehoboam loved Maachah the daughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines: (for he took eighteen wives, and threescore concubines; and begat twenty and eight sons, and threescore daughters.)

And Rehoboam made Abijah the son of Maachah the chief, to be ruler among his brethren: for he thought to make him king.
| 22 Y puso Roboam a Abías hijo de Maaca por jefe y príncipe de sus hermanos, porque quería hacerle rey. | 22 Und Rehabeam setzte Abija, den Sohn der Maacha, als Ersten unter seinen Brüdern, als Thronfolger, ein; denn er gedachte, ihn zum König zu machen. |

And he dealt wisely, and dispersed of all his children throughout all the countries of Judah and Benjamin, unto every fenced city: and he gave them victual in abundance. And he desired many wives. | 23 Obró sagazmente, y esparció a todos sus hijos por todas las tierras de Judá y de Benjamín, y por todas las ciudades fortificadas, y les dio provisiones en abundancia, y muchas mujeres. | 23 Und er handelte klug und verteilte alle seine Söhne in die Gebiete von Juda und Benjamin, in alle festen Städte, und gab ihnen Nahrung in Menge und verschaffte ihnen viele Frauen. |
