And it came to pass, when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire;

And had taken the women captives, that were therein: they slew not any, either great or small, but carried them away, and went on their way.
| 2 Y se habían llevado cautivas a las mujeres y a todos los que estaban allí, desde el menor hasta el mayor; pero a nadie habían dado muerte, sino se los habían llevado al seguir su camino. | 2 und hatten die Frauen und alles, was in der Stadt war, klein und groß, gefangengenommen. Sie hatten aber niemand getötet, sondern sie weggeführt und waren abgezogen. |

So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives.

Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.

And David's two wives were taken captives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite.

And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.

And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech's son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David.
| 7 Y dijo David al sacerdote Abiatar hijo de Ahimelec: Yo te ruego que me acerques el efod. Y Abiatar acercó el efod a David. | 7 und sprach zu dem Priester Abjatar, dem Sohn Ahimelechs: Bringe mir den Efod her! Und als Abjatar den Efod zu David gebracht hatte, |

And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.
| 8 Y David consultó a Jehová, diciendo: ¿Perseguiré a estos merodeadores? ¿Los podré alcanzar? Y él le dijo: Síguelos, porque ciertamente los alcanzarás, y de cierto librarás a los cautivos. | 8 befragte David den HERRN und sprach: Soll ich dieser Schar nachjagen, und werde ich sie einholen? Er sprach: Jage ihr nach! Du wirst sie einholen und die Gefangenen befreien. |

So David went, he and the six hundred men that were with him, and came to the brook Besor, where those that were left behind stayed.
| 9 Partió, pues, David, él y los seiscientos hombres que con él estaban, y llegaron hasta el torrente de Besor, donde se quedaron algunos. | 9 Da zog David hin mit den sechshundert Mann, die bei ihm waren. Und als sie an den Bach Besor kamen, blieben etliche zurück. |

But David pursued, he and four hundred men: for two hundred abode behind, which were so faint that they could not go over the brook Besor.
| 10 Y David siguió adelante con cuatrocientos hombres; porque se quedaron atrás doscientos, que cansados no pudieron pasar el torrente de Besor. | 10 David aber und vierhundert Mann jagten der Schar nach; die zweihundert Mann aber, die zurückblieben, waren zu müde, um über den Bach Besor zu gehen. |

And they found an Egyptian in the field, and brought him to David, and gave him bread, and he did eat; and they made him drink water;
| 11 Y hallaron en el campo a un hombre egipcio, el cual trajeron a David, y le dieron pan, y comió, y le dieron a beber agua. | 11 Und sie fanden einen Ägypter auf dem Felde; den führten sie zu David und gaben ihm Brot zu essen und Wasser zu trinken |

And they gave him a piece of a cake of figs, and two clusters of raisins: and when he had eaten, his spirit came again to him: for he had eaten no bread, nor drunk any water, three days and three nights.
| 12 Le dieron también un pedazo de masa de higos secos y dos racimos de pasas. Y luego que comió, volvió en él su espíritu; porque no había comido pan ni bebido agua en tres días y tres noches. | 12 und gaben ihm ein Stück Feigenkuchen und zwei Rosinenkuchen. Und als er gegessen hatte, kam er wieder zu sich; denn er hatte in drei Tagen und drei Nächten nichts gegessen und kein Wasser getrunken. |

And David said unto him, To whom belongest thou? and whence art thou? And he said, I am a young man of Egypt, servant to an Amalekite; and my master left me, because three days agone I fell sick.
| 13 Y le dijo David: ¿De quién eres tú, y de dónde eres? Y respondió el joven egipcio: Yo soy siervo de un amalecita, y me dejó mi amo hoy hace tres días, porque estaba yo enfermo; | 13 David sprach zu ihm: Zu wem gehörst du? Und woher bist du? Er sprach: Ich bin ein junger Ägypter, eines Amalekiters Knecht, und mein Herr hat mich zurückgelassen; denn ich wurde vor drei Tagen krank. |

We made an invasion upon the south of the Cherethites, and upon the coast which belongeth to Judah, and upon the south of Caleb; and we burned Ziklag with fire.
| 14 pues hicimos una incursión a la parte del Neguev que es de los cereteos, y de Judá, y al Neguev de Caleb; y pusimos fuego a Siclag. | 14 Wir sind eingefallen in das Südland der Kreter und in Juda und in das Südland Kalebs und haben Ziklag mit Feuer verbrannt. |

And David said to him, Canst thou bring me down to this company? And he said, Swear unto me by God, that thou wilt neither kill me, nor deliver me into the hands of my master, and I will bring thee down to this company.

Y él dijo: Júrame por Dios que no me matarás, ni me entregarás en mano de mi amo, y yo te llevaré a esa gente. | 15 David sprach zu ihm: Willst du mich hinführen zu dieser Schar? Er sprach: Schwöre mir bei Gott, daß du mich nicht töten noch in meines Herrn Hand übergeben wirst, so will ich dich hinführen zu dieser Schar. |

And when he had brought him down, behold, they were spread abroad upon all the earth, eating and drinking, and dancing, because of all the great spoil that they had taken out of the land of the Philistines, and out of the land of Judah.
| 16 Lo llevó, pues; y he aquí que estaban desparramados sobre toda aquella tierra, comiendo y bebiendo y haciendo fiesta, por todo aquel gran botín que habían tomado de la tierra de los filisteos y de la tierra de Judá. | 16 Und er führte ihn hin. Und siehe, sie hatten sich ausgebreitet über das ganze Land, aßen und tranken und feierten ein Fest wegen all der großen Beute, die sie mitgenommen hatten aus dem Philisterland und aus Juda. |

And David smote them from the twilight even unto the evening of the next day: and there escaped not a man of them, save four hundred young men, which rode upon camels, and fled.
| 17 Y los hirió David desde aquella mañana hasta la tarde del día siguiente; y no escapó de ellos ninguno, sino cuatrocientos jóvenes que montaron sobre los camellos y huyeron. | 17 Und David schlug sie vom Morgen bis zum Abend des nächsten Tages, so daß keiner von ihnen entrann außer vierhundert jungen Männern; die stiegen auf die Kamele und flohen. |

And David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away: and David rescued his two wives.
| 18 Y libró David todo lo que los amalecitas habían tomado, y asimismo libertó David a sus dos mujeres. | 18 So gewann David alles zurück, was die Amalekiter genommen hatten, auch seine beiden Frauen, |

And there was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil, nor any thing that they had taken to them: David recovered all.
| 19 Y no les faltó cosa alguna, chica ni grande, así de hijos como de hijas, del robo, y de todas las cosas que les habían tomado; todo lo recuperó David. | 19 und es fehlte nichts, weder klein noch groß, weder Söhne noch Töchter noch Beute noch alles, was sie sich genommen hatten; David brachte es alles zurück |

And David took all the flocks and the herds, which they drave before those other cattle, and said, This is David's spoil.
| 20 Tomó también David todas las ovejas y el ganado mayor; y trayéndolo todo delante, decían: Este es el botín de David. | 20 und nahm die Schafe und Rinder, und sie trieben das Vieh vor David her und sprachen: Das ist Davids Beute. |

And David came to the two hundred men, which were so faint that they could not follow David, whom they had made also to abide at the brook Besor: and they went forth to meet David, and to meet the people that were with him: and when David came near to the people, he saluted them.
| 21 Y vino David a los doscientos hombres que habían quedado cansados y no habían podido seguir a David, a los cuales habían hecho quedar en el torrente de Besor; y ellos salieron a recibir a David y al pueblo que con él estaba. Y cuando David llegó a la gente, les saludó con paz. | 21 Und als David zu den zweihundert Männern kam, die zu müde gewesen waren, um David zu folgen, und am Bach Besor geblieben waren, gingen sie David entgegen und den Leuten, die mit ihm waren. Und David trat zu ihnen und grüßte sie freundlich. |

Then answered all the wicked men and men of Belial, of those that went with David, and said, Because they went not with us, we will not give them ought of the spoil that we have recovered, save to every man his wife and his children, that they may lead them away, and depart.
| 22 Entonces todos los malos y perversos de entre los que habían ido con David, respondieron y dijeron: Porque no fueron con nosotros, no les daremos del botín que hemos quitado, sino a cada uno su mujer y sus hijos; que los tomen y se vayan. | 22 Da sprachen böse und heillose Leute unter den Männern, die mit David gezogen waren: Weil sie nicht mit uns gezogen sind, soll man ihnen nichts geben von der Beute, die wir zurückgewonnen haben; sondern jeder nehme nur seine Frau und seine Kinder mit sich und gehe seines Weges. |

Then said David, Ye shall not do so, my brethren, with that which the LORD hath given us, who hath preserved us, and delivered the company that came against us into our hand.
| 23 Y David dijo: No hagáis eso, hermanos míos, de lo que nos ha dado Jehová, quien nos ha guardado, y ha entregado en nuestra mano a los merodeadores que vinieron contra nosotros. | 23 Da sprach David: Ihr sollt nicht so tun, meine Brüder, mit dem, was uns der HERR gegeben hat; er hat uns behütet und diese Schar, die über uns gekommen war, in unsere Hände gegeben. |

For who will hearken unto you in this matter? but as his part is that goeth down to the battle, so shall his part be that tarrieth by the stuff: they shall part alike.
| 24 ¿Y quién os escuchará en este caso? Porque conforme a la parte del que desciende a la batalla, así ha de ser la parte del que queda con el bagaje; les tocará parte igual. | 24 Wer sollte in dieser Sache auf euch hören? Wie der Anteil derjenigen, die in den Kampf gezogen sind, so soll auch der Anteil derjenigen sein, die beim Troß geblieben sind; jeder soll den gleichen Anteil haben. |

And it was so from that day forward, that he made it a statute and an ordinance for Israel unto this day.
| 25 Desde aquel día en adelante fue esto por ley y ordenanza en Israel, hasta hoy. | 25 Und so blieb es weiterhin von diesem Tag an; und er machte es zu Satzung und Recht für Israel bis auf diesen Tag. |

And when David came to Ziklag, he sent of the spoil unto the elders of Judah, even to his friends, saying, Behold a present for you of the spoil of the enemies of the LORD;
| 26 Y cuando David llegó a Siclag, envió del botín a los ancianos de Judá, sus amigos, diciendo: He aquí un presente para vosotros del botín de los enemigos de Jehová. | 26 Und als David nach Ziklag kam, sandte er von der Beute den Ältesten in Juda, seinen Freunden, und ließ sagen: Da habt ihr eine Segensgabe aus der Beute der Feinde des HERRN, - |

And to them which were in Aroer, and to them which were in Siphmoth, and to them which were in Eshtemoa,

And to them which were in Rachal, and to them which were in the cities of the Jerahmeelites, and to them which were in the cities of the Kenites,

And to them which were in Hormah, and to them which were in Chor-ashan, and to them which were in Athach,
