And David said in his heart, I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul: there is nothing better for me than that I should speedily escape into the land of the Philistines; and Saul shall despair of me, to seek me any more in any coast of Israel: so shall I escape out of his hand.
| 1 Dijo luego David en su corazón: Al fin seré muerto algún día por la mano de Saúl; nada, por tanto, me será mejor que fugarme a la tierra de los filisteos, para que Saúl no se ocupe de mí, y no me ande buscando más por todo el territorio de Israel; y así escaparé de su mano. | 1 David aber dachte in seinem Herzen: Ich werde doch eines Tages Saul in die Hände fallen; es gibt nichts Besseres für mich, als daß ich entrinne ins Philisterland. And David arose, and he passed over with the six hundred men that were with him unto Achish, the son of Maoch, king of Gath.
| 2 Se levantó, pues, David, y con los seiscientos hombres que tenía consigo se pasó a Aquis hijo de Maoc, rey de Gat. | 2 Und David machte sich auf und zog hin mit den sechshundert Mann, die bei ihm waren, zu Achisch, dem Sohn Maochs, dem König von Gat. |

And David dwelt with Achish at Gath, he and his men, every man with his household, even David with his two wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the Carmelitess, Nabal's wife.

And it was told Saul that David was fled to Gath: and he sought no more again for him.
| 4 Y vino a Saúl la nueva de que David había huido a Gat, y no lo buscó más. | 4 Und als Saul angesagt wurde, daß David nach Gat geflohen sei, suchte er ihn nicht mehr. |

And David said unto Achish, If I have now found grace in thine eyes, let them give me a place in some town in the country, that I may dwell there: for why should thy servant dwell in the royal city with thee?

Then Achish gave him Ziklag that day: wherefore Ziklag pertaineth unto the kings of Judah unto this day.

And the time that David dwelt in the country of the Philistines was a full year and four months.

And David and his men went up, and invaded the Geshurites, and the Gezrites, and the Amalekites: for those nations were of old the inhabitants of the land, as thou goest to Shur, even unto the land of Egypt.
| 8 Y subía David con sus hombres, y hacían incursiones contra los gesuritas, los gezritas y los amalecitas; porque éstos habitaban de largo tiempo la tierra, desde como quien va a Shur hasta la tierra de Egipto. | 8 David zog hinauf mit seinen Männern und fiel ins Land der Geschuriter und Girsiter und Amalekiter ein; denn diese waren von alters her die Bewohner des Landes bis hin nach Schur und Ägyptenland. |

And David smote the land, and left neither man nor woman alive, and took away the sheep, and the oxen, and the asses, and the camels, and the apparel, and returned, and came to Achish.

And Achish said, Whither have ye made a road to day? And David said, Against the south of Judah, and against the south of the Jerahmeelites, and against the south of the Kenites.

Y David decía: En el Neguev de Judá, y el Neguev de Jerameel, o en el Neguev de los ceneos. | 10 und Achisch sprach: Wo seid ihr heute eingefallen?, so sprach David: In das Südland Judas, oder: In das Südland der Jerachmeeliter, oder: In das Südland der Keniter. |

And David saved neither man nor woman alive, to bring tidings to Gath, saying, Lest they should tell on us, saying, So did David, and so will be his manner all the while he dwelleth in the country of the Philistines.
| 11 Ni hombre ni mujer dejaba David con vida para que viniesen a Gat; diciendo: No sea que den aviso de nosotros y digan: Esto hizo David. Y esta fue su costumbre todo el tiempo que moró en la tierra de los filisteos. | 11 David aber ließ weder Mann noch Frau lebend nach Gat kommen; denn er dachte: Sie könnten uns verraten. And Achish believed David, saying, He hath made his people Israel utterly to abhor him; therefore he shall be my servant for ever. | 12 Y Aquis creía a David, y decía: El se ha hecho abominable a su pueblo de Israel, y será siempre mi siervo. | 12 Und Achisch glaubte David; denn er dachte: Er hat sich in Verruf gebracht bei seinem Volk Israel; darum wird er für immer mein Knecht sein. |
