And it came to pass, when Saul was returned from following the Philistines, that it was told him, saying, Behold, David is in the wilderness of En-gedi.
| 1 Cuando Saúl volvió de perseguir a los filisteos, le dieron aviso, diciendo: He aquí David está en el desierto de En-gadi. | 1 Und David zog von dort hinauf und blieb in den Bergfesten bei En- Gedi. |

Then Saul took three thousand chosen men out of all Israel, and went to seek David and his men upon the rocks of the wild goats.
| 2 Y tomando Saúl tres mil hombres escogidos de todo Israel, fue en busca de David y de sus hombres, por las cumbres de los peñascos de las cabras monteses. | 2 Als nun Saul zurückkam von der Verfolgung der Philister, wurde ihm gesagt: Siehe, David ist in der Wüste En-Gedi. |

And he came to the sheepcotes by the way, where was a cave; and Saul went in to cover his feet: and David and his men remained in the sides of the cave.
| 3 Y cuando llegó a un redil de ovejas en el camino, donde había una cueva, entró Saúl en ella para cubrir sus pies; y David y sus hombres estaban sentados en los rincones de la cueva. | 3 Und Saul nahm dreitausend auserlesene Männer aus ganz Israel und zog hin, David samt seinen Männern zu suchen, in Richtung auf die Steinbockfelsen. |

And the men of David said unto him, Behold the day of which the LORD said unto thee, Behold, I will deliver thine enemy into thine hand, that thou mayest do to him as it shall seem good unto thee. Then David arose, and cut off the skirt of Saul's robe privily.
| 4 Entonces los hombres de David le dijeron: He aquí el día de que te dijo Jehová: He aquí que entrego a tu enemigo en tu mano, y harás con él como te pareciere. Y se levantó David, y calladamente cortó la orilla del manto de Saúl. | 4 Und als er kam zu den Schafhürden am Wege, war dort eine Höhle, und Saul ging hinein, um seine Füße zu decken. David aber und seine Männer saßen hinten in der Höhle. |

And it came to pass afterward, that David's heart smote him, because he had cut off Saul's skirt.
| 5 Después de esto se turbó el corazón de David, porque había cortado la orilla del manto de Saúl. | 5 Da sprachen die Männer Davids zu ihm: Siehe, das ist der Tag, von dem der HERR zu dir gesagt hat: Siehe, ich will deinen Feind in deine Hände geben, daß du mit ihm tust, was dir gefällt. Und David stand auf und schnitt leise einen Zipfel vom Rock Sauls. |

And he said unto his men, The LORD forbid that I should do this thing unto my master, the LORD's anointed, to stretch forth mine hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the LORD.
| 6 Y dijo a sus hombres: Jehová me guarde de hacer tal cosa contra mi señor, el ungido de Jehová, que yo extienda mi mano contra él; porque es el ungido de Jehová. | 6 Aber danach schlug ihm sein Herz, daß er den Zipfel vom Rock Sauls abgeschnitten hatte, |

So David stayed his servants with these words, and suffered them not to rise against Saul. But Saul rose up out of the cave, and went on his way.
| 7 Así reprimió David a sus hombres con palabras, y no les permitió que se levantasen contra Saúl. Y Saúl, saliendo de la cueva, siguió su camino. | 7 und er sprach zu seinen Männern: Das lasse der HERR ferne von mir sein, daß ich das tun sollte und meine Hand legen an meinen Herrn, den Gesalbten des HERRN; denn er ist der Gesalbte des HERRN. |

David also arose afterward, and went out of the cave, and cried after Saul, saying, My lord the king. And when Saul looked behind him, David stooped with his face to the earth, and bowed himself.
| 8 También David se levantó después, y saliendo de la cueva dio voces detrás de Saúl, diciendo: ¡Mi señor el rey! Y cuando Saúl miró hacia atrás, David inclinó su rostro a tierra, e hizo reverencia. | 8 Und David wies seine Männer von sich mit harten Worten und ließ sie sich nicht an Saul vergreifen. Als aber Saul sich aufmachte aus der Höhle und seines Weges ging, |

And David said to Saul, Wherefore hearest thou men's words, saying, Behold, David seeketh thy hurt?
| 9 Y dijo David a Saúl: ¿Por qué oyes las palabras de los que dicen: Mira que David procura tu mal? | 9 machte sich auch David auf ihm nach und ging aus der Höhle und rief Saul nach und sprach: Mein Herr und König! Saul sah sich um. Und David neigte sein Antlitz zur Erde und fiel nieder. |

Behold, this day thine eyes have seen how that the LORD had delivered thee to day into mine hand in the cave: and some bade me kill thee: but mine eye spared thee; and I said, I will not put forth mine hand against my lord; for he is the LORD's anointed.
| 10 He aquí han visto hoy tus ojos cómo Jehová te ha puesto hoy en mis manos en la cueva; y me dijeron que te matase, pero te perdoné, porque dije: No extenderé mi mano contra mi señor, porque es el ungido de Jehová. | 10 Und David sprach zu Saul: Warum hörst du auf das Geschwätz der Menschen, die da sagen: David sucht dein Unglück? |

Moreover, my father, see, yea, see the skirt of thy robe in my hand: for in that I cut off the skirt of thy robe, and killed thee not, know thou and see that there is neither evil nor transgression in mine hand, and I have not sinned against thee; yet thou huntest my soul to take it.
| 11 Y mira, padre mío, mira la orilla de tu manto en mi mano; porque yo corté la orilla de tu manto, y no te maté. Conoce, pues, y ve que no hay mal ni traición en mi mano, ni he pecado contra ti; sin embargo, tú andas a caza de mi vida para quitármela. | 11 Siehe, heute haben deine Augen gesehen, daß dich der HERR in meine Hand gegeben hat in der Höhle, und man hat mir gesagt, daß ich dich töten sollte. Aber ich habe dich verschont; denn ich dachte: Ich will meine Hand nicht an meinen Herrn legen; denn er ist der Gesalbte des HERRN. |

The LORD judge between me and thee, and the LORD avenge me of thee: but mine hand shall not be upon thee.
| 12 Juzgue Jehová entre tú y yo, y véngueme de ti Jehová; pero mi mano no será contra ti. | 12 Mein Vater, sieh doch hier den Zipfel deines Rocks in meiner Hand! Daß ich den Zipfel von deinem Rock schnitt und dich nicht tötete, daran erkenne und sieh, daß meine Hände rein sind von Bosheit und Empörung. Ich habe mich nicht an dir versündigt; aber du jagst mir nach, um mir das Leben zu nehmen. |

As saith the proverb of the ancients, Wickedness proceedeth from the wicked: but mine hand shall not be upon thee.
| 13 Como dice el proverbio de los antiguos: De los impíos saldrá la impiedad; así que mi mano no será contra ti. | 13 Der HERR wird Richter sein zwischen mir und dir und mich an dir rächen, aber meine Hand soll dich nicht anrühren; |

After whom is the king of Israel come out? after whom dost thou pursue? after a dead dog, after a flea.
| 14 ¿Tras quién ha salido el rey de Israel? ¿A quién persigues? ¿A un perro muerto? ¿A una pulga? | 14 wie man sagt nach dem alten Sprichwort: Von Bösen kommt Böses; aber meine Hand soll dich nicht anrühren. |

The LORD therefore be judge, and judge between me and thee, and see, and plead my cause, and deliver me out of thine hand.
| 15 Jehová, pues, será juez, y él juzgará entre tú y yo. El vea y sustente mi causa, y me defienda de tu mano. | 15 Wem zieht der König von Israel nach? Wem jagst du nach? Einem toten Hund, einem einzelnen Floh! |

And it came to pass, when David had made an end of speaking these words unto Saul, that Saul said, Is this thy voice, my son David? And Saul lifted up his voice, and wept.
| 16 Y aconteció que cuando David acabó de decir estas palabras a Saúl, Saúl dijo: ¿No es esta la voz tuya, hijo mío David? Y alzó Saúl su voz y lloró, | 16 Der HERR sei Richter und richte zwischen mir und dir und sehe darein und führe meine Sache, daß er mir Recht schaffe wider dich! |

And he said to David, Thou art more righteous than I: for thou hast rewarded me good, whereas I have rewarded thee evil.
| 17 y dijo a David: Más justo eres tú que yo, que me has pagado con bien, habiéndote yo pagado con mal. | 17 Als nun David diese Worte zu Saul geredet hatte, sprach Saul: Ist das nicht deine Stimme, mein Sohn David? Und Saul erhob seine Stimme und weinte |

And thou hast shewed this day how that thou hast dealt well with me: forasmuch as when the LORD had delivered me into thine hand, thou killedst me not.
| 18 Tú has mostrado hoy que has hecho conmigo bien; pues no me has dado muerte, habiéndome entregado Jehová en tu mano. | 18 und sprach zu David: Du bist gerechter als ich, du hast mir Gutes erwiesen; ich aber habe dir Böses erwiesen. |

For if a man find his enemy, will he let him go well away? wherefore the LORD reward thee good for that thou hast done unto me this day.
| 19 Porque ¿quién hallará a su enemigo, y lo dejará ir sano y salvo? Jehová te pague con bien por lo que en este día has hecho conmigo. | 19 Und du hast mir heute gezeigt, wie du Gutes an mir getan hast, als mich der HERR in deine Hände gegeben hatte und du mich doch nicht getötet hast. |

And now, behold, I know well that thou shalt surely be king, and that the kingdom of Israel shall be established in thine hand.
| 20 Y ahora, como yo entiendo que tú has de reinar, y que el reino de Israel ha de ser en tu mano firme y estable, | 20 Wo ist jemand, der seinen Feind findet und läßt ihn mit Frieden seinen Weg gehen? Der HERR vergelte dir Gutes für das, was du heute an mir getan hast! |

Swear now therefore unto me by the LORD, that thou wilt not cut off my seed after me, and that thou wilt not destroy my name out of my father's house.
| 21 júrame, pues, ahora por Jehová, que no destruirás mi descendencia después de mí, ni borrarás mi nombre de la casa de mi padre. | 21 Nun siehe, ich weiß, daß du König werden wirst und das Königtum über Israel durch deine Hand Bestand haben wird. |

And David sware unto Saul. And Saul went home; but David and his men gat them up unto the hold. | 22 Entonces David juró a Saúl. Y se fue Saúl a su casa, y David y sus hombres subieron al lugar fuerte. | 22 So schwöre mir nun bei dem HERRN, daß du mein Geschlecht nach mir nicht ausrotten und meinen Namen nicht austilgen wirst aus meines Vaters Hause. |
