And the LORD said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons.
| 1 Dijo Jehová a Samuel: ¿Hasta cuándo llorarás a Saúl, habiéndolo yo desechado para que no reine sobre Israel? Llena tu cuerno de aceite, y ven, te enviaré a Isaí de Belén, porque de sus hijos me he provisto de rey. | 1 Und der HERR sprach zu Samuel: Wie lange trägst du Leid um Saul, den ich verworfen habe, daß er nicht mehr König sei über Israel? Fülle dein Horn mit Öl und geh hin: ich will dich senden zu dem Bethlehemiter Isai; denn unter seinen Söhnen hab ich mir einen zum König ersehen. |

And Samuel said, How can I go? if Saul hear it, he will kill me. And the LORD said, Take an heifer with thee, and say, I am come to sacrifice to the LORD.
| 2 Y dijo Samuel: ¿Cómo iré? Si Saúl lo supiera, me mataría. Jehová respondió: Toma contigo una becerra de la vacada, y di: A ofrecer sacrificio a Jehová he venido. | 2 Samuel aber sprach: Wie kann ich hingehen? Saul wird's erfahren und mich töten. Der HERR sprach: Nimm eine junge Kuh mit dir und sprich: Ich bin gekommen, dem HERRN zu opfern. |

And call Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will shew thee what thou shalt do: and thou shalt anoint unto me him whom I name unto thee.
| 3 Y llama a Isaí al sacrificio, y yo te enseñaré lo que has de hacer; y me ungirás al que yo te dijere. | 3 Und du sollst Isai zum Opfer laden. Da will ich dich wissen lassen, was du tun sollst, daß du mir den salbest, den ich dir nennen werde. |

And Samuel did that which the LORD spake, and came to Bethlehem. And the elders of the town trembled at his coming, and said, Comest thou peaceably?
| 4 Hizo, pues, Samuel como le dijo Jehová; y luego que él llegó a Belén, los ancianos de la ciudad salieron a recibirle con miedo, y dijeron: ¿Es pacífica tu venida? | 4 Samuel tat, wie ihm der HERR gesagt hatte, und kam nach Bethlehem. Da entsetzten sich die Ältesten der Stadt und gingen ihm entgegen und sprachen: Bedeutet dein Kommen Heil? |

And he said, Peaceably: I am come to sacrifice unto the LORD: sanctify yourselves, and come with me to the sacrifice. And he sanctified Jesse and his sons, and called them to the sacrifice.
| 5 El respondió: Sí, vengo a ofrecer sacrificio a Jehová; santificaos, y venid conmigo al sacrificio. Y santificando él a Isaí y a sus hijos, los llamó al sacrificio. | 5 Er sprach: Ja, es bedeutet Heil! Ich bin gekommen, dem HERRN zu opfern; heiligt euch und kommt mit mir zum Opfer. Und er heiligte den Isai und seine Söhne und lud sie zum Opfer. |

And it came to pass, when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the LORD's anointed is before him.
| 6 Y aconteció que cuando ellos vinieron, él vio a Eliab, y dijo: De cierto delante de Jehová está su ungido. | 6 Als sie nun kamen, sah er den Eliab an und dachte: Fürwahr, da steht vor dem HERRN sein Gesalbter. |

But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.
| 7 Y Jehová respondió a Samuel: No mires a su parecer, ni a lo grande de su estatura, porque yo lo desecho; porque Jehová no mira lo que mira el hombre; pues el hombre mira lo que está delante de sus ojos, pero Jehová mira el corazón. | 7 Aber der HERR sprach zu Samuel: Sieh nicht an sein Aussehen und seinen hohen Wuchs; ich habe ihn verworfen. Denn nicht sieht der HERR auf das, worauf ein Mensch sieht. Ein Mensch sieht, was vor Augen ist; der HERR aber sieht das Herz an. |

Then Jesse called Abinadab, and made him pass before Samuel. And he said, Neither hath the LORD chosen this.
| 8 Entonces llamó Isaí a Abinadab, y lo hizo pasar delante de Samuel, el cual dijo: Tampoco a éste ha escogido Jehová. | 8 Da rief Isai den Abinadab und ließ ihn an Samuel vorübergehen. Und er sprach: Auch diesen hat der HERR nicht erwählt. |

Then Jesse made Shammah to pass by. And he said, Neither hath the LORD chosen this.
| 9 Hizo luego pasar Isaí a Sama. Y él dijo: Tampoco a éste ha elegido Jehová. | 9 Da ließ Isai vorübergehen Schamma. Er aber sprach: Auch diesen hat der HERR nicht erwählt. |

Again, Jesse made seven of his sons to pass before Samuel. And Samuel said unto Jesse, The LORD hath not chosen these.
| 10 E hizo pasar Isaí siete hijos suyos delante de Samuel; pero Samuel dijo a Isaí: Jehová no ha elegido a éstos. | 10 So ließ Isai seine sieben Söhne an Samuel vorübergehen; aber Samuel sprach zu Isai: Der HERR hat keinen von ihnen erwählt. |

And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither.
| 11 Entonces dijo Samuel a Isaí: ¿Son éstos todos tus hijos? Y él respondió: Queda aún el menor, que apacienta las ovejas. Y dijo Samuel a Isaí: Envía por él, porque no nos sentaremos a la mesa hasta que él venga aquí. | 11 Und Samuel sprach zu Isai: Sind das die Knaben alle? Er aber sprach: Es ist noch übrig der jüngste; siehe, er hütet die Schafe. Da sprach Samuel zu Isai: Sende hin und laß ihn holen; denn wir werden uns nicht niedersetzen, bis er hierherkommt. |

And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the LORD said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he.
| 12 Envió, pues, por él, y le hizo entrar; y era rubio, hermoso de ojos, y de buen parecer. Entonces Jehová dijo: Levántate y úngelo, porque éste es. | 12 Da sandte er hin und ließ ihn holen. Und er war bräunlich, mit schönen Augen und von guter Gestalt. Und der HERR sprach: Auf, salbe ihn, denn der ist's. |

Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.
| 13 Y Samuel tomó el cuerno del aceite, y lo ungió en medio de sus hermanos; y desde aquel día en adelante el Espíritu de Jehová vino sobre David. Se levantó luego Samuel, y se volvió a Ramá. | 13 Da nahm Samuel sein Ölhorn und salbte ihn mitten unter seinen Brüdern. Und der Geist des HERRN geriet über David von dem Tag an und weiterhin. Samuel aber machte sich auf und ging nach Rama. |

But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him.
| 14 El Espíritu de Jehová se apartó de Saúl, y le atormentaba un espíritu malo de parte de Jehová. | 14 Der Geist des HERRN aber wich von Saul, und ein böser Geist vom HERRN ängstigte ihn. |

And Saul's servants said unto him, Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubleth thee.
| 15 Y los criados de Saúl le dijeron: He aquí ahora, un espíritu malo de parte de Dios te atormenta. | 15 Da sprachen die Großen Sauls zu ihm: Siehe, ein böser Geist von Gott ängstigt dich. |

Let our lord now command thy servants, which are before thee, to seek out a man, who is a cunning player on an harp: and it shall come to pass, when the evil spirit from God is upon thee, that he shall play with his hand, and thou shalt be well.
| 16 Diga, pues, nuestro señor a tus siervos que están delante de ti, que busquen a alguno que sepa tocar el arpa, para que cuando esté sobre ti el espíritu malo de parte de Dios, él toque con su mano, y tengas alivio. | 16 Unser Herr befehle nun seinen Knechten, die vor ihm stehen, daß sie einen Mann suchen, der auf der Harfe gut spielen kann, damit er mit seiner Hand darauf spiele, wenn der böse Geist Gottes über dich kommt, und es besser mit dir werde. |

And Saul said unto his servants, Provide me now a man that can play well, and bring him to me.
| 17 Y Saúl respondió a sus criados: Buscadme, pues, ahora alguno que toque bien, y traédmelo. | 17 Da sprach Saul zu seinen Leuten: Seht euch um nach einem Mann, der des Saitenspiels kundig ist, und bringt ihn zu mir. |

Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, that is cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the LORD is with him.
| 18 Entonces uno de los criados respondió diciendo: He aquí yo he visto a un hijo de Isaí de Belén, que sabe tocar, y es valiente y vigoroso y hombre de guerra, prudente en sus palabras, y hermoso, y Jehová está con él. | 18 Da antwortete einer der jungen Männer und sprach: Ich habe gesehen einen Sohn Isais, des Bethlehemiters, der ist des Saitenspiels kundig, ein tapferer Mann und tüchtig zum Kampf, verständig in seinen Reden und schön gestaltet, und der HERR ist mit ihm. |

Wherefore Saul sent messengers unto Jesse, and said, Send me David thy son, which is with the sheep.
| 19 Y Saúl envió mensajeros a Isaí, diciendo: Envíame a David tu hijo, el que está con las ovejas. | 19 Da sandte Saul Boten zu Isai und ließ ihm sagen: Sende zu mir deinen Sohn David, der bei den Schafen ist. |

And Jesse took an ass laden with bread, and a bottle of wine, and a kid, and sent them by David his son unto Saul.
| 20 Y tomó Isaí un asno cargado de pan, una vasija de vino y un cabrito, y lo envió a Saúl por medio de David su hijo. | 20 Da nahm Isai einen Esel und Brot und einen Schlauch Wein und ein Ziegenböcklein und sandte es Saul durch seinen Sohn David. |

And David came to Saul, and stood before him: and he loved him greatly; and he became his armourbearer.
| 21 Y viniendo David a Saúl, estuvo delante de él; y él le amó mucho, y le hizo su paje de armas. | 21 So kam David zu Saul und diente vor ihm. Und Saul gewann ihn sehr lieb, und er wurde sein Waffenträger. |

And Saul sent to Jesse, saying, Let David, I pray thee, stand before me; for he hath found favour in my sight.
| 22 Y Saúl envió a decir a Isaí: Yo te ruego que esté David conmigo, pues ha hallado gracia en mis ojos. | 22 Und Saul sandte zu Isai und ließ ihm sagen: Laß David mir dienen, denn er hat Gnade gefunden vor meinen Augen. |

And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him. | 23 Y cuando el espíritu malo de parte de Dios venía sobre Saúl, David tomaba el arpa y tocaba con su mano; y Saúl tenía alivio y estaba mejor, y el espíritu malo se apartaba de él. | 23 Sooft nun der böse Geist von Gott über Saul kam, nahm David die Harfe und spielte darauf mit seiner Hand. So wurde es Saul leichter, und es ward besser mit ihm, und der böse Geist wich von ihm. |
