And Solomon made affinity with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and took Pharaoh's daughter, and brought her into the city of David, until he had made an end of building his own house, and the house of the LORD, and the wall of Jerusalem round about.
| 1 Salomón hizo parentesco con Faraón rey de Egipto, pues tomó la hija de Faraón, y la trajo a la ciudad de David, entre tanto que acababa de edificar su casa, y la casa de Jehová, y los muros de Jerusalén alrededor. | 1 Und Salomo verschwägerte sich mit dem Pharao, dem König von Ägypten, und nahm eine Tochter des Pharao zur Frau und brachte sie in die Stadt Davids, bis er sein Haus und des HERRN Haus und die Mauer um Jerusalem gebaut hatte. |

Only the people sacrificed in high places, because there was no house built unto the name of the LORD, until those days.
| 2 Hasta entonces el pueblo sacrificaba en los lugares altos; porque no había casa edificada al nombre de Jehová hasta aquellos tiempos. | 2 Aber das Volk opferte noch auf den Höhen; denn es war noch kein Haus gebaut dem Namen des HERRN bis auf diese Zeit. |

And Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places.
| 3 Mas Salomón amó a Jehová, andando en los estatutos de su padre David; solamente sacrificaba y quemaba incienso en los lugares altos. | 3 Salomo aber hatte den HERRN lieb und wandelte nach den Satzungen seines Vaters David, nur daß er auf den Höhen opferte und räucherte. |

And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.
| 4 E iba el rey a Gabaón, porque aquél era el lugar alto principal, y sacrificaba allí; mil holocaustos sacrificaba Salomón sobre aquel altar. | 4 Und der König ging hin nach Gibeon, um dort zu opfern; denn das war die bedeutendste Höhe. Und Salomo opferte dort tausend Brandopfer auf dem Altar. |

In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee.
| 5 Y se le apareció Jehová a Salomón en Gabaón una noche en sueños, y le dijo Dios: Pide lo que quieras que yo te dé. | 5 Und der HERR erschien Salomo zu Gibeon im Traum des Nachts, und Gott sprach: Bitte, was ich dir geben soll! |

And Solomon said, Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.
| 6 Y Salomón dijo: Tú hiciste gran misericordia a tu siervo David mi padre, porque él anduvo delante de ti en verdad, en justicia, y con rectitud de corazón para contigo; y tú le has reservado esta tu gran misericordia, en que le diste hijo que se sentase en su trono, como sucede en este día. | 6 Salomo sprach: Du hast an meinem Vater David, deinem Knecht, große Barmherzigkeit getan, wie er denn vor dir gewandelt ist in Wahrheit und Gerechtigkeit und mit aufrichtigem Herzen vor dir, und hast ihm auch die große Barmherzigkeit erwiesen und ihm einen Sohn gegeben, der auf seinem Thron sitzen sollte, wie es denn jetzt ist. |

And now, O LORD my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in.
| 7 Ahora pues, Jehová Dios mío, tú me has puesto a mí tu siervo por rey en lugar de David mi padre; y yo soy joven, y no sé cómo entrar ni salir. | 7 Nun, HERR, mein Gott, du hast deinen Knecht zum König gemacht an meines Vaters David Statt. Ich aber bin noch jung, weiß weder aus noch ein. |

And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude.
| 8 Y tu siervo está en medio de tu pueblo al cual tú escogiste; un pueblo grande, que no se puede contar ni numerar por su multitud. | 8 Und dein Knecht steht mitten in deinem Volk, das du erwählt hast, einem Volk, so groß, daß es wegen seiner Menge niemand zählen noch berechnen kann. |

Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?
| 9 Da, pues, a tu siervo corazón entendido para juzgar a tu pueblo, y para discernir entre lo bueno y lo malo; porque ¿quién podrá gobernar este tu pueblo tan grande? | 9 So wollest du deinem Knecht ein gehorsames Herz geben, damit er dein Volk richten könne und verstehen, was gut und böse ist. Denn wer vermag dies dein mächtiges Volk zu richten? |

And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing.
| 10 Y agradó delante del Señor que Salomón pidiese esto. | 10 Das gefiel dem Herrn gut, daß Salomo darum bat. |

And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment;
| 11 Y le dijo Dios: Porque has demandado esto, y no pediste para ti muchos días, ni pediste para ti riquezas, ni pediste la vida de tus enemigos, sino que demandaste para ti inteligencia para oir juicio, | 11 Und Gott sprach zu ihm: Weil du darum bittest und bittest weder um langes Leben noch um Reichtum noch um deiner Feinde Tod, sondern um Verstand, zu hören und recht zu richten, |

Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.
| 12 he aquí lo he hecho conforme a tus palabras; he aquí que te he dado corazón sabio y entendido, tanto que no ha habido antes de ti otro como tú, ni después de ti se levantará otro como tú. | 12 siehe, so tue ich nach deinen Worten. Siehe, ich gebe dir ein weises und verständiges Herz, so daß deinesgleichen vor dir nicht gewesen ist und nach dir nicht aufkommen wird. |

And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days.
| 13 Y aun también te he dado las cosas que no pediste, riquezas y gloria, de tal manera que entre los reyes ninguno haya como tú en todos tus días. | 13 Und dazu gebe ich dir, worum du nicht gebeten hast, nämlich Reichtum und Ehre, so daß deinesgleichen keiner unter den Königen ist zu deinen Zeiten. |

And if thou wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days.
| 14 Y si anduvieres en mis caminos, guardando mis estatutos y mis mandamientos, como anduvo David tu padre, yo alargaré tus días. | 14 Und wenn du in meinen Wegen wandeln wirst, daß du hältst meine Satzungen und Gebote, wie dein Vater David gewandelt ist, so werde ich dir ein langes Leben geben. |

And Solomon awoke; and, behold, it was a dream. And he came to Jerusalem, and stood before the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and offered up burnt offerings, and offered peace offerings, and made a feast to all his servants.
| 15 Cuando Salomón despertó, vio que era sueño; y vino a Jerusalén, y se presentó delante del arca del pacto de Jehová, y sacrificó holocaustos y ofreció sacrificios de paz, e hizo también banquete a todos sus siervos. | 15 Und als Salomo erwachte, siehe, da war es ein Traum. Und er kam nach Jerusalem und trat vor die Lade des Bundes des Herrn und opferte Brandopfer und Dankopfer und machte ein großes Festmahl für alle seine Großen. |

Then came there two women, that were harlots, unto the king, and stood before him.
| 16 En aquel tiempo vinieron al rey dos mujeres rameras, y se presentaron delante de él. | 16 Zu der Zeit kamen zwei Huren zum König und traten vor ihn. |

And the one woman said, O my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house; and I was delivered of a child with her in the house.
| 17 Y dijo una de ellas: ¡Ah, señor mío! Yo y esta mujer morábamos en una misma casa, y yo di a luz estando con ella en la casa. | 17 Und die eine Frau sprach: Ach, mein Herr, ich und diese Frau wohnten in einem Hause, und ich gebar bei ihr im Hause. |

And it came to pass the third day after that I was delivered, that this woman was delivered also: and we were together; there was no stranger with us in the house, save we two in the house.
| 18 Aconteció al tercer día después de dar yo a luz, que ésta dio a luz también, y morábamos nosotras juntas; ninguno de fuera estaba en casa, sino nosotras dos en la casa. | 18 Und drei Tage, nachdem ich geboren hatte, gebar auch sie. Und wir waren beieinander, und kein Fremder war mit uns im Hause, nur wir beide. |

And this woman's child died in the night; because she overlaid it.
| 19 Y una noche el hijo de esta mujer murió, porque ella se acostó sobre él. | 19 Und der Sohn dieser Frau starb in der Nacht; denn sie hatte ihn im Schlaf erdrückt. |

And she arose at midnight, and took my son from beside me, while thine handmaid slept, and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom.
| 20 Y se levantó a medianoche y tomó a mi hijo de junto a mí, estando yo tu sierva durmiendo, y lo puso a su lado, y puso al lado mío su hijo muerto. | 20 Und sie stand in der Nacht auf und nahm meinen Sohn von meiner Seite, als deine Magd schlief, und legte ihn in ihren Arm, und ihren toten Sohn legte sie in meinen Arm. |

And when I rose in the morning to give my child suck, behold, it was dead: but when I had considered it in the morning, behold, it was not my son, which I did bear.
| 21 Y cuando yo me levanté de madrugada para dar el pecho a mi hijo, he aquí que estaba muerto; pero lo observé por la mañana, y vi que no era mi hijo, el que yo había dado a luz. | 21 Und als ich des Morgens aufstand, um meinen Sohn zu stillen, siehe, da war er tot. Aber am Morgen sah ich ihn genau an, und siehe, es war nicht mein Sohn, den ich geboren hatte. |

And the other woman said, Nay; but the living is my son, and the dead is thy son. And this said, No; but the dead is thy son, and the living is my son. Thus they spake before the king.
| 22 Entonces la otra mujer dijo: No; mi hijo es el que vive, y tu hijo es el muerto. Y la otra volvió a decir: No; tu hijo es el muerto, y mi hijo es el que vive. Así hablaban delante del rey. | 22 Die andere Frau sprach: Nein, mein Sohn lebt, doch dein Sohn ist tot. Jene aber sprach: Nein, dein Sohn ist tot, doch mein Sohn lebt. Und so redeten sie vor dem König. |

Then said the king, The one saith, This is my son that liveth, and thy son is the dead: and the other saith, Nay; but thy son is the dead, and my son is the living.
| 23 El rey entonces dijo: Esta dice: Mi hijo es el que vive, y tu hijo es el muerto; y la otra dice: No, mas el tuyo es el muerto, y mi hijo es el que vive. | 23 Und der König sprach: Diese spricht: Mein Sohn lebt, doch dein Sohn ist tot. Jene spricht: Nein, dein Sohn ist tot, doch mein Sohn lebt. |

And the king said, Bring me a sword. And they brought a sword before the king.
| 24 Y dijo el rey: Traedme una espada. Y trajeron al rey una espada. | 24 Und der König sprach: Holt mir ein Schwert! Und als das Schwert vor den König gebracht wurde, |

And the king said, Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other.
| 25 En seguida el rey dijo: Partid por medio al niño vivo, y dad la mitad a la una, y la otra mitad a la otra. | 25 sprach der König: Teilt das lebendige Kind in zwei Teile und gebt dieser die Hälfte und jener die Hälfte. |

Then spake the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it.
| 26 Entonces la mujer de quien era el hijo vivo, habló al rey (porque sus entrañas se le conmovieron por su hijo), y dijo: ¡Ah, señor mío! dad a ésta el niño vivo, y no lo matéis. Mas la otra dijo: Ni a mí ni a ti; partidlo. | 26 Da sagte die Frau, deren Sohn lebte, zum König - denn ihr mütterliches Herz entbrannte in Liebe für ihren Sohn - und sprach: Ach, mein Herr, gebt ihr das Kind lebendig und tötet es nicht! Jene aber sprach: Es sei weder mein noch dein; laßt es teilen! |

Then the king answered and said, Give her the living child, and in no wise slay it: she is the mother thereof.
| 27 Entonces el rey respondió y dijo: Dad a aquélla el hijo vivo, y no lo matéis; ella es su madre. | 27 Da antwortete der König und sprach: Gebt dieser das Kind lebendig und tötet's nicht; die ist seine Mutter. |

And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged; and they feared the king: for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to do judgment. | 28 Y todo Israel oyó aquel juicio que había dado el rey; y temieron al rey, porque vieron que había en él sabiduría de Dios para juzgar. | 28 Und ganz Israel hörte von dem Urteil, das der König gefällt hatte, und sie fürchteten den König; denn sie sahen, daß die Weisheit Gottes in ihm war, Gericht zu halten. |
