Now the days of David drew nigh that he should die; and he charged Solomon his son, saying,

I go the way of all the earth: be thou strong therefore, and shew thyself a man;
| 2 Yo sigo el camino de todos en la tierra; esfuérzate, y sé hombre. | 2 Ich gehe hin den Weg aller Welt. So sei getrost und sei ein Mann |

And keep the charge of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself:
| 3 Guarda los preceptos de Jehová tu Dios, andando en sus caminos, y observando sus estatutos y mandamientos, sus decretos y sus testimonios, de la manera que está escrito en la ley de Moisés, para que prosperes en todo lo que hagas y en todo aquello que emprendas; | 3 und diene dem HERRN, deinem Gott, daß du wandelst in seinen Wegen und hältst seine Satzungen, Gebote, Rechte und Ordnungen, wie geschrieben steht im Gesetz des Mose, damit dir alles gelinge, was du tust und wohin du dich wendest; |

That the LORD may continue his word which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee (said he) a man on the throne of Israel.
| 4 para que confirme Jehová la palabra que me habló, diciendo: Si tus hijos guardaren mi camino, andando delante de mí con verdad, de todo su corazón y de toda su alma, jamás, dice, faltará a ti varón en el trono de Israel. | 4 damit der HERR sein Wort erfülle, das er über mich geredet hat: Werden deine Söhne auf ihre Wege achten, daß sie vor mir in Treue und von ganzem Herzen und von ganzer Seele wandeln, so soll dir's niemals fehlen an einem Mann auf dem Thron Israels. |

Moreover thou knowest also what Joab the son of Zeruiah did to me, and what he did to the two captains of the hosts of Israel, unto Abner the son of Ner, and unto Amasa the son of Jether, whom he slew, and shed the blood of war in peace, and put the blood of war upon his girdle that was about his loins, and in his shoes that were on his feet.
| 5 Ya sabes tú lo que me ha hecho Joab hijo de Sarvia, lo que hizo a dos generales del ejército de Israel, a Abner hijo de Ner y a Amasa hijo de Jeter, a los cuales él mató, derramando en tiempo de paz la sangre de guerra, y poniendo sangre de guerra en el talabarte que tenía sobre sus lomos, y en los zapatos que tenía en sus pies. | 5 Auch weißt du sehr wohl, was mir getan hat Joab, der Sohn der Zeruja, was er tat den zwei Feldhauptleuten Israels, Abner, dem Sohn Ners, und Amasa, dem Sohn Jeters, wie er sie ermordet hat und so im Krieg vergossenes Blut im Frieden gerächt und unschuldiges Blut an den Gürtel seiner Lenden und an die Schuhe seiner Füße gebracht hat. |

Do therefore according to thy wisdom, and let not his hoar head go down to the grave in peace.
| 6 Tú, pues, harás conforme a tu sabiduría; no dejarás descender sus canas al Seol en paz. | 6 Tu nach deiner Weisheit, daß du seine grauen Haare nicht in Frieden hinunter zu den Toten bringst. |

But shew kindness unto the sons of Barzillai the Gileadite, and let them be of those that eat at thy table: for so they came to me when I fled because of Absalom thy brother.
| 7 Mas a los hijos de Barzilai galaadita harás misericordia, que sean de los convidados a tu mesa; porque ellos vinieron de esta manera a mí, cuando iba huyendo de Absalón tu hermano. | 7 Aber den Söhnen Barsillais, des Gileaditers, sollst du Barmherzigkeit erweisen, daß sie an deinem Tisch essen. Denn sie taten wohl an mir, als ich vor deinem Bruder Absalom floh. |

And, behold, thou hast with thee Shimei the son of Gera, a Benjamite of Bahurim, which cursed me with a grievous curse in the day when I went to Mahanaim: but he came down to meet me at Jordan, and I sware to him by the LORD, saying, I will not put thee to death with the sword.
| 8 También tienes contigo a Simei hijo de Gera, hijo de Benjamín, de Bahurim, el cual me maldijo con una maldición fuerte el día que yo iba a Mahanaim. Mas él mismo descendió a recibirme al Jordán, y yo le juré por Jehová diciendo: Yo no te mataré a espada. | 8 Und siehe, du hast bei dir Schimi, den Sohn Geras, den Benjaminiter von Bahurim, der mir schändlich fluchte zu der Zeit, als ich nach Mahanajim ging. Dann aber kam er mir entgegen am Jordan. Da schwor ich ihm bei dem HERRN und sprach: Ich will dich nicht töten mit dem Schwert. |

Now therefore hold him not guiltless: for thou art a wise man, and knowest what thou oughtest to do unto him; but his hoar head bring thou down to the grave with blood.
| 9 Pero ahora no lo absolverás; pues hombre sabio eres, y sabes cómo debes hacer con él; y harás descender sus canas con sangre al Seol. | 9 Du aber laß ihn nicht frei ausgehen; denn du bist ein weiser Mann und wirst sehr wohl wissen, was du ihm tun sollst, daß du seine grauen Haare mit Blut hinunter zu den Toten bringst. |

So David slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David.
| 10 Y durmió David con sus padres, y fue sepultado en su ciudad. | 10 Also legte sich David zu seinen Vätern und wurde begraben in der Stadt Davids. |

And the days that David reigned over Israel were forty years: seven years reigned he in Hebron, and thirty and three years reigned he in Jerusalem.
| 11 Los días que reinó David sobre Israel fueron cuarenta años; siete años reinó en Hebrón, y treinta y tres años reinó en Jerusalén. | 11 Die Zeit aber, die David König gewesen ist über Israel, ist vierzig Jahre: sieben Jahre war er König zu Hebron und dreiunddreißig Jahre zu Jerusalem. |

Then sat Solomon upon the throne of David his father; and his kingdom was established greatly.
| 12 Y se sentó Salomón en el trono de David su padre, y su reino fue firme en gran manera. | 12 Und Salomo saß auf dem Thron seines Vaters David, und seine Herrschaft hatte festen Bestand. |

And Adonijah the son of Haggith came to Bath-sheba the mother of Solomon. And she said, Comest thou peaceably? And he said, Peaceably.
| 13 Entonces Adonías hijo de Haguit vino a Betsabé madre de Salomón; y ella le dijo: ¿Es tu venida de paz? El respondió: Sí, de paz. | 13 Aber Adonija, der Sohn der Haggit, kam zu Batseba, der Mutter Salomos. Und sie sprach: Kommst du auch mit Frieden? Er sprach: Ja! |

He said moreover, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And she said, Say on.
| 14 En seguida dijo: Una palabra tengo que decirte. Y ella dijo: Di. | 14 Und er sprach: Ich habe mit dir zu reden. Sie sprach: Sage an! |

And he said, Thou knowest that the kingdom was mine, and that all Israel set their faces on me, that I should reign: howbeit the kingdom is turned about, and is become my brother's: for it was his from the LORD.
| 15 El dijo: Tú sabes que el reino era mío, y que todo Israel había puesto en mí su rostro para que yo reinara; mas el reino fue traspasado, y vino a ser de mi hermano, porque por Jehová era suyo. | 15 Er sprach: Du weißt, daß das Königtum mein war und ganz Israel hatte sich auf mich gerichtet, daß ich König sein sollte; aber nun hat sich das Königtum gewandt und ist meinem Bruder zuteil geworden - von dem HERRN ist's ihm zuteil geworden. |

And now I ask one petition of thee, deny me not. And she said unto him, Say on.
| 16 Ahora yo te hago una petición; no me la niegues. Y ella le dijo: Habla. | 16 Nun bitte ich eins von dir; du wollest mich nicht abweisen! Sie sprach zu ihm: Sage an! |

And he said, Speak, I pray thee, unto Solomon the king, (for he will not say thee nay,) that he give me Abishag the Shunammite to wife.
| 17 El entonces dijo: Yo te ruego que hables al rey Salomón (porque él no te lo negará), para que me dé Abisag sunamita por mujer. | 17 Er sprach: Rede mit dem König Salomo, denn er wird dich nicht abweisen, daß er mir gebe Abischag von Schunem zur Frau. |

And Bath-sheba said, Well; I will speak for thee unto the king.
| 18 Y Betsabé dijo: Bien; yo hablaré por ti al rey. | 18 Batseba sprach: Gut, ich will mit dem König deinetwegen reden. |

Bath-sheba therefore went unto king Solomon, to speak unto him for Adonijah. And the king rose up to meet her, and bowed himself unto her, and sat down on his throne, and caused a seat to be set for the king's mother; and she sat on his right hand.
| 19 Vino Betsabé al rey Salomón para hablarle por Adonías. Y el rey se levantó a recibirla, y se inclinó ante ella, y volvió a sentarse en su trono, e hizo traer una silla para su madre, la cual se sentó a su diestra. | 19 Und Batseba ging hin zum König Salomo, um mit ihm zu reden Adonijas wegen. Und der König stand auf und ging ihr entgegen und neigte sich vor ihr und setzte sich auf seinen Thron. Und es wurde der Mutter des Königs ein Thron hingestellt, und sie setzte sich zu seiner Rechten. |

Then she said, I desire one small petition of thee; I pray thee, say me not nay. And the king said unto her, Ask on, my mother: for I will not say thee nay.
| 20 Y ella dijo: Una pequeña petición pretendo de ti; no me la niegues. Y el rey le dijo: Pide, madre mía, que yo no te la negaré. | 20 Und sie sprach: Ich habe eine kleine Bitte an dich; du wollest mich nicht abweisen. Der König sprach zu ihr: Bitte, meine Mutter, ich will dich nicht abweisen. |

And she said, Let Abishag the Shunammite be given to Adonijah thy brother to wife.
| 21 Y ella dijo: Dese Abisag sunamita por mujer a tu hermano Adonías. | 21 Sie sprach: Gib doch Abischag von Schunem deinem Bruder Adonija zur Frau! |

And king Solomon answered and said unto his mother, And why dost thou ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? ask for him the kingdom also; for he is mine elder brother; even for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah.
| 22 El rey Salomón respondió y dijo a su madre: ¿Por qué pides a Abisag sunamita para Adonías? Demanda también para él el reino; porque él es mi hermano mayor, y ya tiene también al sacerdote Abiatar, y a Joab hijo de Sarvia. | 22 Da antwortete der König Salomo und sprach zu seiner Mutter: Warum bittest du um Abischag von Schunem für Adonija? Erbitte ihm doch auch das Königtum! Denn er ist mein älterer Bruder, und zu ihm hält der Priester Abjatar und Joab, der Sohn der Zeruja. |

Then king Solomon sware by the LORD, saying, God do so to me, and more also, if Adonijah have not spoken this word against his own life.
| 23 Y el rey Salomón juró por Jehová, diciendo: Así me haga Dios y aun me añada, que contra su vida ha hablado Adonías estas palabras. | 23 Und der König Salomo schwor bei dem HERRN und sprach: Gott tue mir dies und das, diese Bitte soll Adonija sein Leben kosten! |

Now therefore, as the LORD liveth, which hath established me, and set me on the throne of David my father, and who hath made me an house, as he promised, Adonijah shall be put to death this day.
| 24 Ahora, pues, vive Jehová, quien me ha confirmado y me ha puesto sobre el trono de David mi padre, y quien me ha hecho casa, como me había dicho, que Adonías morirá hoy. | 24 Und nun, so wahr der HERR lebt, der mich bestätigt hat und gesetzt auf den Thron meines Vaters David und der mir ein Haus gemacht hat, wie er zugesagt hat: heute noch soll Adonija sterben! |

And king Solomon sent by the hand of Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he fell upon him that he died.
| 25 Entonces el rey Salomón envió por mano de Benaía hijo de Joiada, el cual arremetió contra él, y murió. | 25 Und der König Salomo sandte hin Benaja, den Sohn Jojadas; der stieß ihn nieder, daß er starb. |

And unto Abiathar the priest said the king, Get thee to Anathoth, unto thine own fields; for thou art worthy of death: but I will not at this time put thee to death, because thou barest the ark of the Lord GOD before David my father, and because thou hast been afflicted in all wherein my father was afflicted.
| 26 Y el rey dijo al sacerdote Abiatar: Vete a Anatot, a tus heredades, pues eres digno de muerte; pero no te mataré hoy, por cuanto has llevado el arca de Jehová el Señor delante de David mi padre, y además has sido afligido en todas las cosas en que fue afligido mi padre. | 26 Und zu dem Priester Abjatar sprach der König: Geh hin nach Anatot zu deinem Besitz, denn du bist des Todes. Aber ich will dich heute nicht töten, denn du hast die Lade Gottes des HERRN vor meinem Vater David getragen und hast alles mitgelitten, was mein Vater gelitten hat. |

So Solomon thrust out Abiathar from being priest unto the LORD; that he might fulfil the word of the LORD, which he spake concerning the house of Eli in Shiloh.
| 27 Así echó Salomón a Abiatar del sacerdocio de Jehová, para que se cumpliese la palabra de Jehová que había dicho sobre la casa de Elí en Silo. | 27 So verstieß Salomo den Abjatar, daß er nicht mehr Priester des HERRN sein durfte, damit erfüllt würde des HERRN Wort, das er über das Haus Elis geredet hatte in Silo. |

Then tidings came to Joab: for Joab had turned after Adonijah, though he turned not after Absalom. And Joab fled unto the tabernacle of the LORD, and caught hold on the horns of the altar.
| 28 Y vino la noticia a Joab; porque también Joab se había adherido a Adonías, si bien no se había adherido a Absalón. Y huyó Joab al tabernáculo de Jehová, y se asió de los cuernos del altar. | 28 Und die Kunde davon kam vor Joab; denn Joab hatte Adonija angehangen und nicht Absalom. Da floh Joab in das Zelt des HERRN und faßte die Hörner des Altars. |

And it was told king Solomon that Joab was fled unto the tabernacle of the LORD; and, behold, he is by the altar. Then Solomon sent Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, saying, Go, fall upon him.
| 29 Y se le hizo saber a Salomón que Joab había huido al tabernáculo de Jehová, y que estaba junto al altar. Entonces envió Salomón a Benaía hijo de Joiada, diciendo: Ve, y arremete contra él. | 29 Und es wurde dem König Salomo angesagt: Joab ist zum Zelt des HERRN geflohen, und siehe, er steht am Altar. Da sandte Salomo hin Benaja, den Sohn Jojadas, und sprach: Geh, stoß ihn nieder!a |

And Benaiah came to the tabernacle of the LORD, and said unto him, Thus saith the king, Come forth. And he said, Nay; but I will die here. And Benaiah brought the king word again, saying, Thus said Joab, and thus he answered me.
| 30 Y entró Benaía al tabernáculo de Jehová, y le dijo: El rey ha dicho que salgas. Y él dijo: No, sino que aquí moriré. Y Benaía volvió con esta respuesta al rey, diciendo: Así dijo Joab, y así me respondió. | 30 Und als Benaja zum Zelt des HERRN kam, sprach er zu Joab: So sagt der König: Geh heraus! Er sprach: Nein, hier will ich sterben. Und Benaja sagte das dem König wieder und sprach: So hat Joab geredet, und so hat er mir geantwortet. |

And the king said unto him, Do as he hath said, and fall upon him, and bury him; that thou mayest take away the innocent blood, which Joab shed, from me, and from the house of my father.
| 31 Y el rey le dijo: Haz como él ha dicho; mátale y entiérrale, y quita de mí y de la casa de mi padre la sangre que Joab ha derramado injustamente. | 31 Der König sprach zu ihm: Tu, wie er gesagt hat, und stoß ihn nieder und begrabe ihn, damit du das Blut, das Joab ohne Grund vergossen hat, von mir tust und von meines Vaters Hause. |

And the LORD shall return his blood upon his own head, who fell upon two men more righteous and better than he, and slew them with the sword, my father David not knowing thereof, to wit, Abner the son of Ner, captain of the host of Israel, and Amasa the son of Jether, captain of the host of Judah.
| 32 Y Jehová hará volver su sangre sobre su cabeza; porque él ha dado muerte a dos varones más justos y mejores que él, a los cuales mató a espada sin que mi padre David supiese nada: a Abner hijo de Ner, general del ejército de Israel, y a Amasa hijo de Jeter, general del ejército de Judá. | 32 Und der HERR lasse das Blut auf sein Haupt kommen, weil er zwei Männer erschlagen hat, die gerechter und besser waren als er, und sie getötet hat mit dem Schwert, ohne daß mein Vater David darum wußte, nämlich Abner, den Sohn Ners, den Feldhauptmann über Israel, und Amasa, den Sohn Jeters, den Feldhauptmann über Juda. |

Their blood shall therefore return upon the head of Joab, and upon the head of his seed for ever: but upon David, and upon his seed, and upon his house, and upon his throne, shall there be peace for ever from the LORD.
| 33 La sangre, pues, de ellos recaerá sobre la cabeza de Joab, y sobre la cabeza de su descendencia para siempre; mas sobre David y sobre su descendencia, y sobre su casa y sobre su trono, habrá perpetuamente paz de parte de Jehová. | 33 Ihr Blut komme auf das Haupt Joabs und seiner Nachkommen für immer; aber David und seine Nachkommen, sein Haus und sein Thron sollen Frieden haben ewiglich von dem HERRN! |

So Benaiah the son of Jehoiada went up, and fell upon him, and slew him: and he was buried in his own house in the wilderness.
| 34 Entonces Benaía hijo de Joiada subió y arremetió contra él, y lo mató; y fue sepultado en su casa en el desierto. | 34 Und Benaja, der Sohn Jojadas, ging hin und stieß ihn nieder und tötete ihn. Und er wurde begraben in seinem Hause in der Wüste. |

And the king put Benaiah the son of Jehoiada in his room over the host: and Zadok the priest did the king put in the room of Abiathar.
| 35 Y el rey puso en su lugar a Benaía hijo de Joiada sobre el ejército, y a Sadoc puso el rey por sacerdote en lugar de Abiatar. | 35 Und der König setzte Benaja, den Sohn Jojadas, an seiner Statt über das Heer, und den Priester Zadok setzte der König an die Stelle Abjatars. |

And the king sent and called for Shimei, and said unto him, Build thee an house in Jerusalem, and dwell there, and go not forth thence any whither.
| 36 Después envió el rey e hizo venir a Simei, y le dijo: Edifícate una casa en Jerusalén y mora ahí, y no salgas de allí a una parte ni a otra; | 36 Und der König sandte hin und ließ Schimi rufen und sprach zu ihm: Baue dir ein Haus in Jerusalem und wohne dort und geh von da nicht heraus, weder hierhin noch dahin. |

For it shall be, that on the day thou goest out, and passest over the brook Kidron, thou shalt know for certain that thou shalt surely die: thy blood shall be upon thine own head.
| 37 porque sabe de cierto que el día que salieres y pasares el torrente de Cedrón, sin duda morirás, y tu sangre será sobre tu cabeza. | 37 An dem Tag, an dem du hinausgehen und über den Bach Kidron gehen wirst - so wisse, daß du des Todes sterben mußt; dein Blut komme dann auf dein Haupt! |

And Shimei said unto the king, The saying is good: as my lord the king hath said, so will thy servant do. And Shimei dwelt in Jerusalem many days.
| 38 Y Simei dijo al rey: La palabra es buena; como el rey mi señor ha dicho, así lo hará tu siervo. Y habitó Simei en Jerusalén muchos días. | 38 Schimi sprach zum König: Das ist recht so; wie mein Herr, der König, geredet hat, so wird dein Knecht tun. So wohnte Schimi in Jerusalem lange Zeit. |

And it came to pass at the end of three years, that two of the servants of Shimei ran away unto Achish son of Maachah king of Gath. And they told Shimei, saying, Behold, thy servants be in Gath.
| 39 Pero pasados tres años, aconteció que dos siervos de Simei huyeron a Aquis hijo de Maaca, rey de Gat. Y dieron aviso a Simei, diciendo: He aquí que tus siervos están en Gat. | 39 Es begab sich aber nach drei Jahren, daß zwei Knechte dem Schimi entliefen zu Achisch, dem Sohn Maachas, dem König von Gat. Und es wurde Schimi angesagt: Siehe, deine Knechte sind in Gat. |

And Shimei arose, and saddled his ass, and went to Gath to Achish to seek his servants: and Shimei went, and brought his servants from Gath.
| 40 Entonces Simei se levantó y ensilló su asno y fue a Aquis en Gat, para buscar a sus siervos. Fue, pues, Simei, y trajo sus siervos de Gat. | 40 Da machte sich Schimi auf und sattelte seinen Esel und zog hin nach Gat zu Achisch, um seine Knechte zu suchen. Und als er hinkam, brachte er seine Knechte von Gat zurück. |

And it was told Solomon that Shimei had gone from Jerusalem to Gath, and was come again.
| 41 Luego fue dicho a Salomón que Simei había ido de Jerusalén hasta Gat, y que había vuelto. | 41 Und es wurde Salomo angesagt, daß Schimi von Jerusalem nach Gat gezogen und wiedergekommen wäre. |

And the king sent and called for Shimei, and said unto him, Did I not make thee to swear by the LORD, and protested unto thee, saying, Know for a certain, on the day thou goest out, and walkest abroad any whither, that thou shalt surely die? and thou saidst unto me, The word that I have heard is good.
| 42 Entonces el rey envió e hizo venir a Simei, y le dijo: ¿No te hice jurar yo por Jehová, y te protesté diciendo: El día que salieres y fueres acá o allá, sabe de cierto que morirás? Y tú me dijiste: La palabra es buena, yo la obedezco. | 42 Da sandte der König hin und ließ Schimi rufen und sprach zu ihm: Hab ich dich nicht schwören lassen bei dem HERRN und dich gewarnt: an dem Tag, an dem du die Stadt verläßt und hierhin oder dorthin gehst, sollst du wissen, daß du des Todes sterben mußt? Und du sprachst zu mir: Es ist recht so; ich habe es gehört. |

Why then hast thou not kept the oath of the LORD, and the commandment that I have charged thee with?
| 43 ¿Por qué, pues, no guardaste el juramento de Jehová, y el mandamiento que yo te impuse? | 43 Warum hast du denn nicht gehalten den Schwur vor dem HERRN und das Gebot, das ich dir geboten habe? |

The king said moreover to Shimei, Thou knowest all the wickedness which thine heart is privy to, that thou didst to David my father: therefore the LORD shall return thy wickedness upon thine own head;
| 44 Dijo además el rey a Simei: Tú sabes todo el mal, el cual tu corazón bien sabe, que cometiste contra mi padre David; Jehová, pues, ha hecho volver el mal sobre tu cabeza. | 44 Und der König sprach zu Schimi: Du weißt all das Böse, dessen dein Herz sich bewußt ist und das du meinem Vater David angetan hast. Nun läßt der HERR dies Böse auf dein Haupt kommen; |

And king Solomon shall be blessed, and the throne of David shall be established before the LORD for ever.
| 45 Y el rey Salomón será bendito, y el trono de David será firme perpetuamente delante de Jehová. | 45 aber der König Salomo ist gesegnet, und der Thron Davids wird feststehen vor dem HERRN ewiglich. |

So the king commanded Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; which went out, and fell upon him, that he died. And the kingdom was established in the hand of Solomon. | 46 Entonces el rey mandó a Benaía hijo de Joiada, el cual salió y lo hirió, y murió.
Y el reino fue confirmado en la mano de Salomón. | 46 Und der König gebot Benaja, dem Sohn Jojadas; der ging hin und stieß ihn nieder, daß er starb. Und das Königtum wurde gefestigt durch Salomos Hand. |
