And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and withal how he had slain all the prophets with the sword.
| 1 Acab dio a Jezabel la nueva de todo lo que Elías había hecho, y de cómo había matado a espada a todos los profetas. | 1 Und Ahab sagte Isebel alles, was Elia getan hatte und wie er alle Propheten Baals mit dem Schwert umgebracht hatte. |

Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time.

And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beer-sheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his servant there.
| 3 Viendo, pues, el peligro, se levantó y se fue para salvar su vida, y vino a Beerseba, que está en Judá, y dejó allí a su criado. | 3 Da fürchtete er sich, machte sich auf und lief um sein Leben und kam nach Beerscheba in Juda und ließ seinen Diener dort. |

But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.
| 4 Y él se fue por el desierto un día de camino, y vino y se sentó debajo de un enebro; y deseando morirse, dijo: Basta ya, oh Jehová, quítame la vida, pues no soy yo mejor que mis padres. | 4 Er aber ging hin in die Wüste eine Tagereise weit und kam und setzte sich unter einen Wacholder und wünschte sich zu sterben und sprach: Es ist genug, so nimm nun, HERR, meine Seele; ich bin nicht besser als meine Väter. |

And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat.
| 5 Y echándose debajo del enebro, se quedó dormido; y he aquí luego un ángel le tocó, y le dijo: Levántate, come. | 5 Und er legte sich hin und schlief unter dem Wacholder. Und siehe, ein Engel rührte ihn an und sprach zu ihm: Steh auf und iß! |

And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again.
| 6 Entonces él miró, y he aquí a su cabecera una torta cocida sobre las ascuas, y una vasija de agua; y comió y bebió, y volvió a dormirse. | 6 Und er sah sich um, und siehe, zu seinen Häupten lag ein geröstetes Brot und ein Krug mit Wasser. Und als er gegessen und getrunken hatte, legte er sich wieder schlafen. |

And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee.
| 7 Y volviendo el ángel de Jehová la segunda vez, lo tocó, diciendo: Levántate y come, porque largo camino te resta. | 7 Und der Engel des HERRN kam zum zweitenmal wieder und rührte ihn an und sprach: Steh auf und iß! Denn du hast einen weiten Weg vor dir. |

And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God.
| 8 Se levantó, pues, y comió y bebió; y fortalecido con aquella comida caminó cuarenta días y cuarenta noches hasta Horeb, el monte de Dios. | 8 Und er stand auf und aß und trank und ging durch die Kraft der Speise vierzig Tage und vierzig Nächte bis zum Berg Gottes, dem Horeb. |

And he came thither unto a cave, and lodged there; and, behold, the word of the LORD came to him, and he said unto him, What doest thou here, Elijah?
| 9 Y allí se metió en una cueva, donde pasó la noche. Y vino a él palabra de Jehová, el cual le dijo: ¿Qué haces aquí, Elías? | 9 Und er kam dort in eine Höhle und blieb dort über Nacht. Und siehe, das Wort des HERRN kam zu ihm: Was machst du hier, Elia? |

And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.
| 10 El respondió: He sentido un vivo celo por Jehová Dios de los ejércitos; porque los hijos de Israel han dejado tu pacto, han derribado tus altares, y han matado a espada a tus profetas; y sólo yo he quedado, y me buscan para quitarme la vida. | 10 Er sprach: Ich habe geeifert für den HERRN, den Gott Zebaoth; denn Israel hat deinen Bund verlassen und deine Altäre zerbrochen und deine Propheten mit dem Schwert getötet, und ich bin allein übriggeblieben, und sie trachten danach, daß sie mir mein Leben nehmen. |

And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake:
| 11 El le dijo: Sal fuera, y ponte en el monte delante de Jehová. Y he aquí Jehová que pasaba, y un grande y poderoso viento que rompía los montes, y quebraba las peñas delante de Jehová; pero Jehová no estaba en el viento. Y tras el viento un terremoto; pero Jehová no estaba en el terremoto. | 11 Der Herr sprach: Geh heraus und tritt hin auf den Berg vor den HERRN! Und siehe, der HERR wird vorübergehen. Und ein großer, starker Wind, der die Berge zerriß und die Felsen zerbrach, kam vor dem HERRN her; der HERR aber war nicht im Winde. Nach dem Wind aber kam ein Erdbeben; aber der HERR war nicht im Erdbeben. |

And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
| 12 Y tras el terremoto un fuego; pero Jehová no estaba en el fuego. Y tras el fuego un silbo apacible y delicado. | 12 Und nach dem Erdbeben kam ein Feuer; aber der HERR war nicht im Feuer. Und nach dem Feuer kam ein stilles, sanftes Sausen. |

And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?
| 13 Y cuando lo oyó Elías, cubrió su rostro con su manto, y salió, y se puso a la puerta de la cueva. Y he aquí vino a él una voz, diciendo: ¿Qué haces aquí, Elías? | 13 Als das Elia hörte, verhüllte er sein Antlitz mit seinem Mantel und ging hinaus und trat in den Eingang der Höhle. Und siehe, da kam eine Stimme zu ihm und sprach: Was hast du hier zu tun, Elia? |

And the LORD said unto him, Go, return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus: and when thou comest, anoint Hazael to be king over Syria:
| 15 Y le dio Jehová: Ve, vuélvete por tu camino, por el desierto de Damasco; y llegarás, y ungirás a Hazael por rey de Siria. | 15 Aber der HERR sprach zu ihm: Geh wieder deines Weges durch die Wüste nach Damaskus und geh hinein und salbe Hasaël zum König über Aram |

And Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel: and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel-meholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room.
| 16 A Jehú hijo de Nimsi ungirás por rey sobre Israel; y a Eliseo hijo de Safat, de Abel-mehola, ungirás para que sea profeta en tu lugar. | 16 und Jehu, den Sohn Nimschis, zum König über Israel und Elisa, den Sohn Schafats, von Abel-Mehola zum Propheten an deiner Statt. |

And it shall come to pass, that him that escapeth the sword of Hazael shall Jehu slay: and him that escapeth from the sword of Jehu shall Elisha slay.
| 17 Y el que escapare de la espada de Hazael, Jehú lo matará; y el que escapare de la espada de Jehú, Eliseo lo matará. | 17 Und es soll geschehen: Wer dem Schwert Hasaëls entrinnt, den soll Jehu töten, und wer dem Schwert Jehus entrinnt, den soll Elisa töten. |

Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.
| 18 Y yo haré que queden en Israel siete mil, cuyas rodillas no se doblaron ante Baal, y cuyas bocas no lo besaron. | 18 Und ich will übriglassen siebentausend in Israel, alle Knie, die sich nicht gebeugt haben vor Baal, und jeden Mund, der ihn nicht geküßt hat. |

So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him.
| 19 Partiendo él de allí, halló a Eliseo hijo de Safat, que araba con doce yuntas delante de sí, y él tenía la última. Y pasando Elías por delante de él, echó sobre él su manto. | 19 Und Elia ging von dort weg und fand Elisa, den Sohn Schafats, als er pflügte mit zwölf Jochen vor sich her, und er war selbst bei dem zwölften. Und Elia ging zu ihm und warf seinen Mantel über ihn. |

And he left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said, Let me, I pray thee, kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow thee. And he said unto him, Go back again: for what have I done to thee?
| 20 Entonces dejando él los bueyes, vino corriendo en pos de Elías, y dijo: Te ruego que me dejes besar a mi padre y a mi madre, y luego te seguiré. Y él le dijo: Ve, vuelve; ¿qué te he hecho yo? | 20 Und er verließ die Rinder und lief Elia nach und sprach: Laß mich meinen Vater und meine Mutter küssen, dann will ich dir nachfolgen. Er sprach zu ihm: Wohlan, kehre um! Bedenke, was ich dir getan habe! |

And he returned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen, and slew them, and boiled their flesh with the instruments of the oxen, and gave unto the people, and they did eat. Then he arose, and went after Elijah, and ministered unto him. | 21 Y se volvió, y tomó un par de bueyes y los mató, y con el arado de los bueyes coció la carne, y la dio al pueblo para que comiesen. Después se levantó y fue tras Elías, y le servía. | 21 Und Elisa wandte sich von ihm weg und nahm ein Joch Rinder und opferte es und mit den Jochen der Rinder kochte er das Fleisch und gab's den Leuten, daß sie aßen. Und er machte sich auf und folgte Elia nach und diente ihm. |
