And it came to pass after many days, that the word of the LORD came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, shew thyself unto Ahab; and I will send rain upon the earth.
| 1 Pasados muchos días, vino palabra de Jehová a Elías en el tercer año, diciendo: Ve, muéstrate a Acab, y yo haré llover sobre la faz de la tierra. | 1 Nach einer langen Zeit kam das Wort des HERRN zu Elia, im dritten Jahr: Geh hin und zeige dich Ahab, denn ich will regnen lassen auf die Erde. |

And Elijah went to shew himself unto Ahab. And there was a sore famine in Samaria.

And Ahab called Obadiah, which was the governor of his house. (Now Obadiah feared the LORD greatly:

For it was so, when Jezebel cut off the prophets of the LORD, that Obadiah took an hundred prophets, and hid them by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water.)
| 4 Porque cuando Jezabel destruía a los profetas de Jehová, Abdías tomó a cien profetas y los escondió de cincuenta en cincuenta en cuevas, y los sustentó con pan y agua. | 4 denn als Isebel die Propheten des HERRN ausrottete, nahm Obadja hundert Propheten und versteckte sie in Höhlen, hier fünfzig und da fünfzig, und versorgte sie mit Brot und Wasser -; |

And Ahab said unto Obadiah, Go into the land, unto all fountains of water, and unto all brooks: peradventure we may find grass to save the horses and mules alive, that we lose not all the beasts.
| 5 Dijo, pues, Acab a Abdías: Ve por el país a todas las fuentes de aguas, y a todos los arroyos, a ver si acaso hallaremos hierba con que conservemos la vida a los caballos y a las mulas, para que no nos quedemos sin bestias. | 5 und Ahab sprach zu Obadja: Wohlan, wir wollen durchs Land ziehen zu allen Wasserquellen und Bächen, ob wir Gras finden und die Rosse und Maultiere erhalten könnten, damit nicht alles Vieh umkommt. |

So they divided the land between them to pass throughout it: Ahab went one way by himself, and Obadiah went another way by himself.
| 6 Y dividieron entre sí el país para recorrerlo; Acab fue por un camino, y Abdías fue separadamente por otro. | 6 Und sie teilten sich ins Land, daß sie es durchzogen. Ahab zog allein auf dem einen Weg und Obadja auch allein auf dem andern Weg. |

And as Obadiah was in the way, behold, Elijah met him: and he knew him, and fell on his face, and said, Art thou that my lord Elijah?
| 7 Y yendo Abdías por el camino, se encontró con Elías; y cuando lo reconoció, se postró sobre su rostro y dijo: ¿No eres tú mi señor Elías? | 7 Als nun Obadja auf dem Wege war, siehe, da begegnete ihm Elia. And he answered him, I am: go, tell thy lord, Behold, Elijah is here.
| 8 Y él respondió: Yo soy; ve, di a tu amo: Aquí está Elías. | 8 Er sprach: Ja! Geh hin und sage deinem Herrn: Siehe, Elia ist da! |

And he said, What have I sinned, that thou wouldest deliver thy servant into the hand of Ahab, to slay me?
| 9 Pero él dijo: ¿En qué he pecado, para que entregues a tu siervo en mano de Acab para que me mate? | 9 Obadja aber sprach: Was hab ich gesündigt, daß du deinen Knecht in die Hände Ahabs geben willst, daß er mich tötet? |

As the LORD thy God liveth, there is no nation or kingdom, whither my lord hath not sent to seek thee: and when they said, He is not there; he took an oath of the kingdom and nation, that they found thee not.
| 10 Vive Jehová tu Dios, que no ha habido nación ni reino adonde mi señor no haya enviado a buscarte, y todos han respondido: No está aquí; y a reinos y a naciones él ha hecho jurar que no te han hallado. | 10 So wahr der HERR, dein Gott, lebt: es gibt kein Volk noch Königreich, wohin mein Herr nicht gesandt hat, dich zu suchen. Und wenn sie sprachen: Er ist nicht hier, nahm er einen Eid von dem Königreich und Volk, daß man dich nicht gefunden hätte. |

And now thou sayest, Go, tell thy lord, Behold, Elijah is here.

And it shall come to pass, as soon as I am gone from thee, that the Spirit of the LORD shall carry thee whither I know not; and so when I come and tell Ahab, and he cannot find thee, he shall slay me: but I thy servant fear the LORD from my youth.
| 12 Acontecerá que luego que yo me haya ido, el Espíritu de Jehová te llevará adonde yo no sepa, y al venir yo y dar las nuevas a Acab, al no hallarte él, me matará; y tu siervo teme a Jehová desde su juventud. | 12 Wenn ich nun hinginge von dir, so könnte dich der Geist des HERRN entführen, und ich wüßte nicht wohin; und wenn ich dann käme und sagte es Ahab an und er fände dich nicht, so tötete er mich. Und doch fürchtet dein Knecht den HERRN von seiner Jugend auf. |

Was it not told my lord what I did when Jezebel slew the prophets of the LORD, how I hid an hundred men of the LORD's prophets by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water?
| 13 ¿No ha sido dicho a mi señor lo que hice, cuando Jezabel mataba a los profetas de Jehová; que escondí a cien varones de los profetas de Jehová de cincuenta en cincuenta en cuevas, y los mantuve con pan y agua? | 13 Ist's meinem Herrn Elia nicht angesagt, was ich getan habe, als Isebel die Propheten des HERRN tötete? Daß ich von den Propheten des HERRN hundert versteckte, hier fünfzig und da fünfzig, in Höhlen und versorgte sie mit Brot und Wasser? |

And now thou sayest, Go, tell thy lord, Behold, Elijah is here: and he shall slay me.

And Elijah said, As the LORD of hosts liveth, before whom I stand, I will surely shew myself unto him to day.
| 15 Y le dijo Elías: Vive Jehová de los ejércitos, en cuya presencia estoy, que hoy me mostraré a él. | 15 Elia sprach: So wahr der HERR Zebaoth lebt, vor dem ich stehe: ich will mich ihm heute zeigen. |

So Obadiah went to meet Ahab, and told him: and Ahab went to meet Elijah.
| 16 Entonces Abdías fue a encontrarse con Acab, y le dio el aviso; y Acab vino a encontrarse con Elías. | 16 Da ging Obadja hin Ahab entgegen und sagte es ihm an. Und Ahab ging hin Elia entgegen. |

And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, Art thou he that troubleth Israel?
| 17 Cuando Acab vio a Elías, le dijo: ¿Eres tú el que turbas a Israel? | 17 Und als Ahab Elia sah, sprach Ahab zu ihm: Bist du nun da, der Israel ins Unglück stürzt? |

And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father's house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the LORD, and thou hast followed Baalim.
| 18 Y él respondió: Yo no he turbado a Israel, sino tú y la casa de tu padre, dejando los mandamientos de Jehová, y siguiendo a los baales. | 18 Er aber sprach: Nicht ich stürze Israel ins Unglück, sondern du und deines Vaters Haus dadurch, daß ihr des HERRN Gebote verlassen habt und wandelt den Baalen nach. |

Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four hundred, which eat at Jezebel's table.
| 19 Envía, pues, ahora y congrégame a todo Israel en el monte Carmelo, y los cuatrocientos cincuenta profetas de Baal, y los cuatrocientos profetas de Asera, que comen de la mesa de Jezabel. | 19 Wohlan, so sende nun hin und versammle zu mir ganz Israel auf den Berg Karmel und die vierhundertundfünfzig Propheten Baals, auch die vierhundert Propheten der Aschera, die vom Tisch Isebels essen. |

So Ahab sent unto all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together unto mount Carmel.
| 20 Entonces Acab convocó a todos los hijos de Israel, y reunió a los profetas en el monte Carmelo. | 20 So sandte Ahab hin zu ganz Israel und versammelte die Propheten auf den Berg Karmel. |

And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.
| 21 Y acercándose Elías a todo el pueblo, dijo: ¿Hasta cuándo claudicaréis vosotros entre dos pensamientos? Si Jehová es Dios, seguidle; y si Baal, id en pos de él. Y el pueblo no respondió palabra. | 21 Da trat Elia zu allem Volk und sprach: Wie lange hinket ihr auf beiden Seiten? Ist der HERR Gott, so wandelt ihm nach, ist's aber Baal, so wandelt ihm nach. Und das Volk antwortete ihm nichts. |

Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the LORD; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men.
| 22 Y Elías volvió a decir al pueblo: Sólo yo he quedado profeta de Jehová; mas de los profetas de Baal hay cuatrocientos cincuenta hombres. | 22 Da sprach Elia zum Volk: Ich bin allein übriggeblieben als Prophet des HERRN, aber die Propheten Baals sind vierhundertundfünfzig Mann. |

Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under:
| 23 Dénsenos, pues, dos bueyes, y escojan ellos uno, y córtenlo en pedazos, y pónganlo sobre leña, pero no pongan fuego debajo; y yo prepararé el otro buey, y lo pondré sobre leña, y ningún fuego pondré debajo. | 23 So gebt uns nun zwei junge Stiere und laßt sie wählen einen Stier und ihn zerstücken und aufs Holz legen, aber kein Feuer daran legen; dann will ich den andern Stier nehmen und aufs Holz legen und auch kein Feuer daran legen. |

And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the LORD: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken.
| 24 Invocad luego vosotros el nombre de vuestros dioses, y yo invocaré el nombre de Jehová; y el Dios que respondiere por medio de fuego, ése sea Dios. Y todo el pueblo respondió, diciendo: Bien dicho. | 24 Und ruft ihr den Namen eures Gottes an, aber ich will den Namen des HERRN anrufen. Welcher Gott nun mit Feuer antworten wird, der ist wahrhaftig Gott. Und das ganze Volk antwortete und sprach: Das ist recht. |

And Elijah said unto the prophets of Baal, Choose you one bullock for yourselves, and dress it first; for ye are many; and call on the name of your gods, but put no fire under.
| 25 Entonces Elías dijo a los profetas de Baal: Escogeos un buey, y preparadlo vosotros primero, pues que sois los más; e invocad el nombre de vuestros dioses, mas no pongáis fuego debajo. | 25 Und Elia sprach zu den Propheten Baals: Wählt ihr einen Stier und richtet zuerst zu, denn ihr seid viele, und ruft den Namen eures Gottes an, aber legt kein Feuer daran. |

And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made.
| 26 Y ellos tomaron el buey que les fue dado y lo prepararon, e invocaron el nombre de Baal desde la mañana hasta el mediodía, diciendo: ¡Baal, respóndenos! Pero no había voz, ni quien respondiese; entre tanto, ellos andaban saltando cerca del altar que habían hecho. | 26 Und sie nahmen den Stier, den man ihnen gab, und richteten zu und riefen den Namen Baals an vom Morgen bis zum Mittag und sprachen: Baal, erhöre uns! Aber es war da keine Stimme noch Antwort. Und sie hinkten um den Altar, den sie gemacht hatten. |

And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.
| 27 Y aconteció al mediodía, que Elías se burlaba de ellos, diciendo: Gritad en alta voz, porque dios es; quizá está meditando, o tiene algún trabajo, o va de camino; tal vez duerme, y hay que despertarle. | 27 Als es nun Mittag wurde, verspottete sie Elia und sprach: Ruft laut! Denn er ist ja ein Gott; er ist in Gedanken oder hat zu schaffen oder ist über Land oder schläft vielleicht, daß er aufwache. |

And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them.
| 28 Y ellos clamaban a grandes voces, y se sajaban con cuchillos y con lancetas conforme a su costumbre, hasta chorrear la sangre sobre ellos. | 28 Und sie riefen laut und ritzten sich mit Messern und Spießen nach ihrer Weise, bis ihr Blut herabfloß. |

And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded.
| 29 Pasó el mediodía, y ellos siguieron gritando frenéticamente hasta la hora de ofrecerse el sacrificio, pero no hubo ninguna voz, ni quien respondiese ni escuchase. | 29 Als aber der Mittag vergangen war, waren sie in Verzückung bis um die Zeit, zu der man das Speisopfer darbringt; aber da war keine Stimme noch Antwort noch einer, der aufmerkte. |

And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of the LORD that was broken down.
| 30 Entonces dijo Elías a todo el pueblo: Acercaos a mí. Y todo el pueblo se le acercó; y él arregló el altar de Jehová que estaba arruinado. | 30 Da sprach Elia zu allem Volk: Kommt her zu mir! Und als alles Volk zu ihm trat, baute er den Altar des HERRN wieder auf, der zerbrochen war, |

And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the LORD came, saying, Israel shall be thy name:
| 31 Y tomando Elías doce piedras, conforme al número de las tribus de los hijos de Jacob, al cual había sido dada palabra de Jehová diciendo, Israel será tu nombre, | 31 und nahm zwölf Steine nach der Zahl der Stämme der Söhne Jakobs - zu dem das Wort des HERRN ergangen war: Du sollst Israel heißen - |

And with the stones he built an altar in the name of the LORD: and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed.
| 32 edificó con las piedras un altar en el nombre de Jehová; después hizo una zanja alrededor del altar, en que cupieran dos medidas de grano. | 32 und baute von den Steinen einen Altar im Namen des HERRN und machte um den Altar her einen Graben, so breit wie für zwei Kornmaß Aussaat, |

And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood.
| 33 Preparó luego la leña, y cortó el buey en pedazos, y lo puso sobre la leña. | 33 und richtete das Holz zu und zerstückte den Stier und legte ihn aufs Holz. |

And he said, Do it the second time. And they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time.
| 34 Y dijo: Llenad cuatro cántaros de agua, y derramadla sobre el holocausto y sobre la leña. Y dijo: Hacedlo otra vez; y otra vez lo hicieron. Dijo aún: Hacedlo la tercera vez; y lo hicieron la tercera vez, | 34 Und Elia sprach: Holt vier Eimer voll Wasser und gießt es auf das Brandopfer und aufs Holz! Und er sprach: Tut's noch einmal! Und sie taten's noch einmal. Und er sprach: Tut's zum drittenmal! Und sie taten's zum drittenmal. |

And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water.
| 35 de manera que el agua corría alrededor del altar, y también se había llenado de agua la zanja. | 35 Und das Wasser lief um den Altar her, und der Graben wurde auch voll Wasser. |

And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.
| 36 Cuando llegó la hora de ofrecerse el holocausto, se acercó el profeta Elías y dijo: Jehová Dios de Abraham, de Isaac y de Israel, sea hoy manifiesto que tú eres Dios en Israel, y que yo soy tu siervo, y que por mandato tuyo he hecho todas estas cosas. | 36 Und als es Zeit war, das Speisopfer zu opfern, trat der Prophet Elia herzu und sprach: HERR, Gott Abrahams, Isaaks und Israels, laß heute kundwerden, daß du Gott in Israel bist und ich dein Knecht und daß ich das alles nach deinem Wort getan habe! |

Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.
| 37 Respóndeme, Jehová, respóndeme, para que conozca este pueblo que tú, oh Jehová, eres el Dios, y que tú vuelves a ti el corazón de ellos. | 37 Erhöre mich, HERR, erhöre mich, damit dies Volk erkennt, daß du, HERR, Gott bist und ihr Herz wieder zu dir kehrst! |

Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.
| 38 Entonces cayó fuego de Jehová, y consumió el holocausto, la leña, las piedras y el polvo, y aun lamió el agua que estaba en la zanja. | 38 Da fiel das Feuer des HERRN herab und fraß Brandopfer, Holz, Steine und Erde und leckte das Wasser auf im Graben. |

And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The LORD, he is the God; the LORD, he is the God.
| 39 Viéndolo todo el pueblo, se postraron y dijeron: ¡Jehová es el Dios, Jehová es el Dios! | 39 Als das alles Volk sah, fielen sie auf ihr Angesicht und sprachen: Der HERR ist Gott, der HERR ist Gott! |

And Elijah said unto them, Take the prophets of Baal; let not one of them escape. And they took them: and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and slew them there.
| 40 Entonces Elías les dijo: Prended a los profetas de Baal, para que no escape ninguno. Y ellos los prendieron; y los llevó Elías al arroyo de Cisón, y allí los degolló. | 40 Elia aber sprach zu ihnen: Greift die Propheten Baals, daß keiner von ihnen entrinne! Und sie ergriffen sie. Und Elia führte sie hinab an den Bach Kischon und tötete sie daselbst. |

And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.
| 41 Entonces Elías dijo a Acab: Sube, come y bebe; porque una lluvia grande se oye. | 41 Und Elia sprach zu Ahab: Zieh hinauf, iß und trink; denn es rauscht, als wollte es sehr regnen. |

So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,
| 42 Acab subió a comer y a beber. Y Elías subió a la cumbre del Carmelo, y postrándose en tierra, puso su rostro entre las rodillas. | 42 Und als Ahab hinaufzog, um zu essen und zu trinken, ging Elia auf den Gipfel des Karmel und bückte sich zur Erde und hielt sein Haupt zwischen seine Knie |

And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times.
| 43 Y dijo a su criado: Sube ahora, y mira hacia el mar. Y él subió, y miró, y dijo: No hay nada. Y él le volvió a decir: Vuelve siete veces. | 43 und sprach zu seinem Diener: Geh hinauf und schaue zum Meer! Er ging hinauf und schaute und sprach: Es ist nichts da. Elia sprach: Geh wieder hin, und der Diener ging wieder hin, siebenmal. |

And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man's hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.
| 44 A la séptima vez dijo: Yo veo una pequeña nube como la palma de la mano de un hombre, que sube del mar. Y él dijo: Ve, y di a Acab: Unce tu carro y desciende, para que la lluvia no te ataje. | 44 Und beim siebentenmal sprach er: Siehe, es steigt eine kleine Wolke auf aus dem Meer wie eines Mannes Hand. Elia sprach: Geh hin und sage Ahab: Spann an und fahre hinab, damit dich der Regen nicht aufhält! |

And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.
| 45 Y aconteció, estando en esto, que los cielos se oscurecieron con nubes y viento, y hubo una gran lluvia. Y subiendo Acab, vino a Jezreel. | 45 Und ehe man sich's versah, wurde der Himmel schwarz von Wolken und Wind, und es kam ein großer Regen. Ahab aber fuhr hinab nach Jesreel. |

And the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel. | 46 Y la mano de Jehová estuvo sobre Elías, el cual ciñó sus lomos, y corrió delante de Acab hasta llegar a Jezreel. | 46 Und die Hand des HERRN kam über Elia, und er gürtete seine Lenden und lief vor Ahab hin, bis er kam nach Jesreel. |
