And Rehoboam went to Shechem: for all Israel were come to Shechem to make him king.

And it came to pass, when Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who was yet in Egypt, heard of it, (for he was fled from the presence of king Solomon, and Jeroboam dwelt in Egypt;)

That they sent and called him. And Jeroboam and all the congregation of Israel came, and spake unto Rehoboam, saying,

Thy father made our yoke grievous: now therefore make thou the grievous service of thy father, and his heavy yoke which he put upon us, lighter, and we will serve thee.
| 4 Tu padre agravó nuestro yugo, mas ahora disminuye tú algo de la dura servidumbre de tu padre, y del yugo pesado que puso sobre nosotros, y te serviremos. | 4 Dein Vater hat unser Joch zu hart gemacht. Mache du nun den harten Dienst und das schwere Joch leichter, das er uns aufgelegt hat, so wollen wir dir untertan sein. |

And he said unto them, Depart yet for three days, then come again to me. And the people departed.
| 5 Y él les dijo: Idos, y de aquí a tres días volved a mí. Y el pueblo se fue. | 5 Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Geht hin bis zum dritten Tag, dann kommt wieder zu mir. Und das Volk ging hin. |

And king Rehoboam consulted with the old men, that stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived, and said, How do ye advise that I may answer this people?
| 6 Entonces el rey Roboam pidió consejo de los ancianos que habían estado delante de Salomón su padre cuando vivía, y dijo: ¿Cómo aconsejáis vosotros que responda a este pueblo? | 6 Und der König Rehabeam hielt einen Rat mit den Ältesten, die vor seinem Vater Salomo gestanden hatten, als er noch lebte, und sprach: Wie ratet ihr, daß wir diesem Volk Antwort geben? |

And they spake unto him, saying, If thou wilt be a servant unto this people this day, and wilt serve them, and answer them, and speak good words to them, then they will be thy servants for ever.
| 7 Y ellos le hablaron diciendo: Si tú fueres hoy siervo de este pueblo y lo sirvieres, y respondiéndoles buenas palabras les hablares, ellos te servirán para siempre. | 7 Sie sprachen zu ihm: Wirst du heute diesem Volk einen Dienst tun und ihnen zu Willen sein und sie erhören und ihnen gute Worte geben, so werden sie dir untertan sein dein Leben lang. |

But he forsook the counsel of the old men, which they had given him, and consulted with the young men that were grown up with him, and which stood before him:
| 8 Pero él dejó el consejo que los ancianos le habían dado, y pidió consejo de los jóvenes que se habían criado con él, y estaban delante de él. | 8 Aber er kehrte sich nicht an den Rat der Ältesten, den sie ihm gegeben hatten, und hielt einen Rat mit den Jüngeren, die mit ihm aufgewachsen waren und vor ihm standen. |

And he said unto them, What counsel give ye that we may answer this people, who have spoken to me, saying, Make the yoke which thy father did put upon us lighter?
| 9 Y les dijo: ¿Cómo aconsejáis vosotros que respondamos a este pueblo, que me ha hablado diciendo: Disminuye algo del yugo que tu padre puso sobre nosotros? | 9 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Was ratet ihr, daß wir antworten diesem Volk, das zu mir gesagt hat: Mache das Joch leichter, das dein Vater auf uns gelegt hat? |

And the young men that were grown up with him spake unto him, saying, Thus shalt thou speak unto this people that spake unto thee, saying, Thy father made our yoke heavy, but make thou it lighter unto us; thus shalt thou say unto them, My little finger shall be thicker than my father's loins.
| 10 Entonces los jóvenes que se habían criado con él le respondieron diciendo: Así hablarás a este pueblo que te ha dicho estas palabras: Tu padre agravó nuestro yugo, mas tú disminúyenos algo; así les hablarás: El menor dedo de los míos es más grueso que los lomos de mi padre. | 10 Und die Jüngeren, die mit ihm aufgewachsen waren, sprachen zu ihm: Du sollst zu dem Volk, das zu dir sagt: "Dein Vater hat unser Joch zu schwer gemacht; mache du es uns leichter", so sagen: Mein kleiner Finger soll dicker sein als meines Vaters Lenden. |

And now whereas my father did lade you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke: my father hath chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.
| 11 Ahora, pues, mi padre os cargó de pesado yugo, mas yo añadiré a vuestro yugo; mi padre os castigó con azotes, mas yo os castigaré con escorpiones. | 11 Nun, mein Vater hat auf euch ein schweres Joch gelegt, ich aber will's euch noch schwerer machen. So Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam the third day, as the king had appointed, saying, Come to me again the third day.

And the king answered the people roughly, and forsook the old men's counsel that they gave him;
| 13 Y el rey respondió al pueblo duramente, dejando el consejo que los ancianos le habían dado; | 13 da gab der König dem Volk eine harte Antwort und kehrte sich nicht an den Rat, den ihm die Ältesten gegeben hatten, |

And spake to them after the counsel of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, and I will add to your yoke: my father also chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.
| 14 y les habló conforme al consejo de los jóvenes, diciendo: Mi padre agravó vuestro yugo, pero yo añadiré a vuestro yugo; mi padre os castigó con azotes, mas yo os castigaré con escorpiones. | 14 und redete mit ihnen nach dem Rat der Jüngeren und sprach: Mein Vater hat euer Joch schwer gemacht, ich aber will's euch noch schwerer machen. Wherefore the king hearkened not unto the people; for the cause was from the LORD, that he might perform his saying, which the LORD spake by Ahijah the Shilonite unto Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
| 15 Y no oyó el rey al pueblo; porque era designio de Jehová para confirmar la palabra que Jehová había hablado por medio de Ahías silonita a Jeroboam hijo de Nabat. | 15 So hörte der König nicht auf das Volk; denn so war es bestimmt von dem HERRN, damit er sein Wort wahr machte, das er durch Ahija von Silo geredet hatte zu Jerobeam, dem Sohn Nebats. |

So when all Israel saw that the king hearkened not unto them, the people answered the king, saying, What portion have we in David? neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse: to your tents, O Israel: now see to thine own house, David. So Israel departed unto their tents.
| 16 Cuando todo el pueblo vio que el rey no les había oído, le respondió estas palabras, diciendo: ¿Qué parte tenemos nosotros con David? No tenemos heredad en el hijo de Isaí. ¡Israel, a tus tiendas! ¡Provee ahora en tu casa, David! Entonces Israel se fue a sus tiendas. | 16 Als aber ganz Israel sah, daß der König sie nicht hören wollte, gab das Volk dem König Antwort und sprach: Was haben wir für Teil an David oder Erbe am Sohn Isais? But as for the children of Israel which dwelt in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam reigned over them.
| 17 Pero reinó Roboam sobre los hijos de Israel que moraban en las ciudades de Judá. | 17 so daß Rehabeam nur über die Israeliten regierte, die in den Städten Judas wohnten. |

Then king Rehoboam sent Adoram, who was over the tribute; and all Israel stoned him with stones, that he died. Therefore king Rehoboam made speed to get him up to his chariot, to flee to Jerusalem.

So Israel rebelled against the house of David unto this day.

And it came to pass, when all Israel heard that Jeroboam was come again, that they sent and called him unto the congregation, and made him king over all Israel: there was none that followed the house of David, but the tribe of Judah only.
| 20 Y aconteció que oyendo todo Israel que Jeroboam había vuelto, enviaron a llamarle a la congregación, y le hicieron rey sobre todo Israel, sin quedar tribu alguna que siguiese la casa de David, sino sólo la tribu de Judá. | 20 Als nun ganz Israel hörte, daß Jerobeam zurückgekommen war, sandten sie hin und ließen ihn rufen zu der Gemeinde und machten ihn zum König über ganz Israel; niemand folgte dem Hause David als der Stamm Juda allein. |

And when Rehoboam was come to Jerusalem, he assembled all the house of Judah, with the tribe of Benjamin, an hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men, which were warriors, to fight against the house of Israel, to bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam the son of Solomon.
| 21 Y cuando Roboam vino a Jerusalén, reunió a toda la casa de Judá y a la tribu de Benjamín, ciento ochenta mil hombres, guerreros escogidos, con el fin de hacer guerra a la casa de Israel, y hacer volver el reino a Roboam hijo de Salomón. | 21 Und als Rehabeam nach Jerusalem kam, sammelte er das ganze Haus Juda und den Stamm Benjamin, hundertachtzigtausend streitbare Männer, um gegen das Haus Israel zu kämpfen, und das Königtum an Rehabeam, den Sohn Salomos, zurückzubringen. |

But the word of God came unto Shemaiah the man of God, saying,

Speak unto Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and unto all the house of Judah and Benjamin, and to the remnant of the people, saying,
| 23 Habla a Roboam hijo de Salomón, rey de Judá, y a toda la casa de Judá y de Benjamín, y a los demás del pueblo, | 23 Sage Rehabeam, dem Sohn Salomos, dem König von Juda, und dem ganzen Hause Juda und Benjamin und dem übrigen Volk und sprich: |

Thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren the children of Israel: return every man to his house; for this thing is from me. They hearkened therefore to the word of the LORD, and returned to depart, according to the word of the LORD.
| 24 Así ha dicho Jehová: No vayáis, ni peleéis contra vuestros hermanos los hijos de Israel; volveos cada uno a su casa, porque esto lo he hecho yo. Y ellos oyeron la palabra de Dios, y volvieron y se fueron, conforme a la palabra de Jehová. | 24 So spricht der HERR: Ihr sollt nicht hinaufziehen und gegen eure Brüder, die von Israel, kämpfen. Jedermann gehe wieder heim, denn das alles ist von mir geschehen. Und sie gehorchten dem Wort des HERRN, kehrten um und gingen heim, wie der HERR gesagt hatte. |

Then Jeroboam built Shechem in mount Ephraim, and dwelt therein; and went out from thence, and built Penuel.
| 25 Entonces reedificó Jeroboam a Siquem en el monte de Efraín, y habitó en ella; y saliendo de allí, reedificó a Penuel. | 25 Jerobeam aber baute Sichem auf dem Gebirge Ephraim aus und wohnte darin und zog von da fort und baute Pnuël aus. |

And Jeroboam said in his heart, Now shall the kingdom return to the house of David:
| 26 Y dijo Jeroboam en su corazón: Ahora se volverá el reino a la casa de David, | 26 Und Jerobeam dachte in seinem Herzen: Das Königtum wird nun wieder an das Haus David fallen. |

If this people go up to do sacrifice in the house of the LORD at Jerusalem, then shall the heart of this people turn again unto their lord, even unto Rehoboam king of Judah, and they shall kill me, and go again to Rehoboam king of Judah.
| 27 si este pueblo subiere a ofrecer sacrificios en la casa de Jehová en Jerusalén; porque el corazón de este pueblo se volverá a su señor Roboam rey de Judá, y me matarán a mí, y se volverán a Roboam rey de Judá. | 27 Wenn dies Volk hinaufgeht, um Opfer darzubringen im Hause des HERRN zu Jerusalem, so wird sich das Herz dieses Volks wenden zu ihrem Herrn Rehabeam, dem König von Juda, und sie werden mich umbringen und wieder Rehabeam, dem König von Juda, zufallen. |

Whereupon the king took counsel, and made two calves of gold, and said unto them, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem: behold thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
| 28 Y habiendo tenido consejo, hizo el rey dos becerros de oro, y dijo al pueblo: Bastante habéis subido a Jerusalén; he aquí tus dioses, oh Israel, los cuales te hicieron subir de la tierra de Egipto. | 28 Und der König hielt einen Rat und machte zwei goldene Kälber und sprach zum Volk: Es ist zu viel für euch, daß ihr hinauf nach Jerusalem geht; siehe, da ist dein Gott, Israel, der dich aus Ägyptenland geführt hat. |

And he set the one in Bethel, and the other put he in Dan.
| 29 Y puso uno en Bet-el, y el otro en Dan. | 29 Und er stellte eins in Bethel auf, und das andere tat er nach Dan. |

And this thing became a sin: for the people went to worship before the one, even unto Dan.
| 30 Y esto fue causa de pecado; porque el pueblo iba a adorar delante de uno hasta Dan. | 30 Und das geriet zur Sünde, denn das Volk ging hin vor das eine in Bethel und vor das andre in Dan. |

And he made an house of high places, and made priests of the lowest of the people, which were not of the sons of Levi.
| 31 Hizo también casas sobre los lugares altos, e hizo sacerdotes de entre el pueblo, que no eran de los hijos de Leví. | 31 Er baute auch ein Höhenheiligtum und machte Priester aus allerlei Leuten, die nicht von den Söhnen Levi waren. |

And Jeroboam ordained a feast in the eighth month, on the fifteenth day of the month, like unto the feast that is in Judah, and he offered upon the altar. So did he in Bethel, sacrificing unto the calves that he had made: and he placed in Bethel the priests of the high places which he had made.
| 32 Entonces instituyó Jeroboam fiesta solemne en el mes octavo, a los quince días del mes, conforme a la fiesta solemne que se celebraba en Judá; y sacrificó sobre un altar. Así hizo en Bet-el, ofreciendo sacrificios a los becerros que había hecho. Ordenó también en Bet-el sacerdotes para los lugares altos que él había fabricado. | 32 Und er machte ein Fest am fünfzehnten Tag des achten Monats wie das Fest in Juda und opferte auf dem Altar. So tat er in Bethel, daß er den Kälbern opferte, die er gemacht hatte, und bestellte in Bethel Priester für die Höhen, die er gemacht hatte. |

So he offered upon the altar which he had made in Bethel the fifteenth day of the eighth month, even in the month which he had devised of his own heart; and ordained a feast unto the children of Israel: and he offered upon the altar, and burnt incense. | 33 Sacrificó, pues, sobre el altar que él había hecho en Bet-el, a los quince días del mes octavo, el mes que él había inventado de su propio corazón; e hizo fiesta a los hijos de Israel, y subió al altar para quemar incienso. | 33 Einst opferte Jerobeam auf dem Altar, den er gemacht hatte in Bethel, am fünfzehnten Tage im achten Monat, den er sich in seinem Herzen ausgedacht hatte, und machte den Israeliten ein Fest und stieg auf den Altar, um zu opfern. |
