Now Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build him an house.

And David perceived that the LORD had confirmed him king over Israel, for his kingdom was lifted up on high, because of his people Israel.

And David took more wives at Jerusalem: and David begat more sons and daughters.

And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard of it, and went out against them.

And the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

And David enquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? and wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto him, Go up; for I will deliver them into thine hand.
| 10 Entonces David consultó a Dios, diciendo: ¿Subiré contra los filisteos? ¿Los entregarás en mi mano? Y Jehová le dijo: Sube, porque yo los entregaré en tus manos. | 10 David aber befragte Gott und sprach: Soll ich hinaufziehen gegen die Philister, und willst du sie in meine Hand geben? Der HERR sprach zu ihm: Zieh hinauf! Ich will sie in deine Hände geben. |

So they came up to Baal-perazim; and David smote them there. Then David said, God hath broken in upon mine enemies by mine hand like the breaking forth of waters: therefore they called the name of that place Baal-perazim.
| 11 Subieron, pues, a Baal-perazim, y allí los derrotó David. Dijo luego David: Dios rompió mis enemigos por mi mano, como se rompen las aguas. Por esto llamaron el nombre de aquel lugar Baal-perazim. | 11 Und als sie hinaufzogen nach Baal- Perazim, schlug sie David dort. Und David sprach: Gott hat durch meine Hand die Reihen meiner Feinde durchbrochen, wie das Wasser einen Damm durchbricht. Daher nannte man die Stätte "Baal- Perazim"*. *d. . Herr der Durchbrüche. |

And when they had left their gods there, David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire.

And the Philistines yet again spread themselves abroad in the valley.

Therefore David enquired again of God; and God said unto him, Go not up after them; turn away from them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.
| 14 David volvió a consultar a Dios, y Dios le dijo: No subas tras ellos, sino rodéalos, para venir a ellos por delante de las balsameras. | 14 Und David befragte Gott abermals, und Gott sprach zu ihm: Du sollst nicht hinaufziehen hinter ihnen her, sondern umgehe sie, daß du an sie herankommst von den Bakabäumen her. |

And it shall be, when thou shalt hear a sound of going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt go out to battle: for God is gone forth before thee to smite the host of the Philistines.
| 15 Y así que oigas venir un estruendo por las copas de las balsameras, sal luego a la batalla, porque Dios saldrá delante de ti y herirá el ejército de los filisteos. | 15 Wenn du dann hören wirst, wie das Rauschen oben in den Bakabäumen einhergeht, so brich hervor zum Kampf; denn Gott ist dann vor dir ausgezogen, zu schlagen das Heer der Philister. |

David therefore did as God commanded him: and they smote the host of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gazer.
| 16 Hizo, pues, David como Dios le mandó, y derrotaron al ejército de los filisteos desde Gabaón hasta Gezer. | 16 Und David tat, wie ihm Gott geboten hatte, und sie schlugen das Heer der Philister von Gibeon an bis Geser. |

And the fame of David went out into all lands; and the LORD brought the fear of him upon all nations. | 17 Y la fama de David fue divulgada por todas aquellas tierras; y Jehová puso el temor de David sobre todas las naciones. | 17 Und Davids Name ging aus in alle Lande, und der HERR ließ Furcht vor ihm über alle Völker kommen. |
