Now the Philistines fought against Israel; and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell down slain in mount Gilboa.

And the Philistines followed hard after Saul, and after his sons; and the Philistines slew Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Malchi-shua, the sons of Saul.
| 2 Y los filisteos siguieron a Saúl y a sus hijos, y mataron los filisteos a Jonatán, a Abinadab y a Malquisúa, hijos de Saúl. | 2 Aber die Philister waren hinter Saul und seinen Söhnen her und erschlugen Jonatan, Abinadab und Malkischua, die Söhne Sauls. |

And the battle went sore against Saul, and the archers hit him, and he was wounded of the archers.
| 3 Y arreciando la batalla contra Saúl, le alcanzaron los flecheros, y fue herido por los flecheros. | 3 Und der Kampf tobte heftig um Saul, und die Bogenschützen fanden ihn, und er wurde verwundet von den Schützen. |

Then said Saul to his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. So Saul took a sword, and fell upon it.
| 4 Entonces dijo Saúl a su escudero: Saca tu espada y traspásame con ella, no sea que vengan estos incircuncisos y hagan escarnio de mí; pero su escudero no quiso, porque tenía mucho miedo. Entonces Saúl tomó la espada, y se echó sobre ella. | 4 Da sprach Saul zu seinem Waffenträger: Zieh dein Schwert und erstich mich damit, daß nicht diese Unbeschnittenen kommen und treiben ihren Spott mit mir. Aber sein Waffenträger wollte nicht; denn er fürchtete sich sehr. Da nahm Saul sein Schwert und stürzte sich hinein. |

And when his armourbearer saw that Saul was dead, he fell likewise on the sword, and died.
| 5 Cuando su escudero vio a Saúl muerto, él también se echó sobre su espada y se mató. | 5 Als aber sein Waffenträger sah, daß Saul tot war, stürzte auch er sich ins Schwert und starb. |

So Saul died, and his three sons, and all his house died together.
| 6 Así murieron Saúl y sus tres hijos; y toda su casa murió juntamente con él. | 6 So starben Saul und zugleich seine drei Söhne und sein ganzes Haus. |

And when all the men of Israel that were in the valley saw that they fled, and that Saul and his sons were dead, then they forsook their cities, and fled: and the Philistines came and dwelt in them.
| 7 Y viendo todos los de Israel que habitaban en el valle, que habían huido, y que Saúl y sus hijos eran muertos, dejaron sus ciudades y huyeron, y vinieron los filisteos y habitaron en ellas. | 7 Als aber die Männer Israels, die in der Ebene wohnten, sahen, daß sie geflohen waren und daß Saul und seine Söhne tot waren, verließen sie ihre Städte und flohen, und die Philister kamen und wohnten darin. |

And it came to pass on the morrow, when the Philistines came to strip the slain, that they found Saul and his sons fallen in mount Gilboa.
| 8 Sucedió al día siguiente, que al venir los filisteos a despojar a los muertos, hallaron a Saúl y a sus hijos tendidos en el monte de Gilboa. | 8 Am andern Tage kamen die Philister, um die Erschlagenen auszuplündern, und fanden Saul und seine Söhne, wie sie gefallen auf dem Gebirge Gilboa lagen. |

And when they had stripped him, they took his head, and his armour, and sent into the land of the Philistines round about, to carry tidings unto their idols, and to the people.
| 9 Y luego que le despojaron, tomaron su cabeza y sus armas, y enviaron mensajeros por toda la tierra de los filisteos para dar las nuevas a sus ídolos y al pueblo. | 9 Da plünderten sie ihn aus und nahmen sein Haupt und seine Rüstung und sandten sie im Land der Philister umher und ließen's verkünden vor ihren Götzen und dem Volk. |

And they put his armour in the house of their gods, and fastened his head in the temple of Dagon.
| 10 Y pusieron sus armas en el templo de sus dioses, y colgaron la cabeza en el templo de Dagón. | 10 Und sie legten seine Rüstung nieder im Haus ihres Gottes, und seinen Schädel hefteten sie ans Haus Dagons. |

And when all Jabesh-gilead heard all that the Philistines had done to Saul,
| 11 Y oyendo todos los de Jabes de Galaad lo que los filisteos habían hecho de Saúl, | 11 Als aber jedermann von Jabesch in Gilead hörte, was die Philister Saul alles angetan hatten, |

They arose, all the valiant men, and took away the body of Saul, and the bodies of his sons, and brought them to Jabesh, and buried their bones under the oak in Jabesh, and fasted seven days.
| 12 se levantaron todos los hombres valientes, y tomaron el cuerpo de Saúl y los cuerpos de sus hijos, y los trajeron a Jabes; y enterraron sus huesos debajo de una encina en Jabes, y ayunaron siete días. | 12 machten sie sich auf, alle streitbaren Männer, und nahmen die Leichname Sauls und seiner Söhne und brachten sie nach Jabesch und begruben ihre Gebeine unter der Eiche bei Jabesch und fasteten sieben Tage. |

So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the LORD, even against the word of the LORD, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it;
| 13 Así murió Saúl por su rebelión con que prevaricó contra Jehová, contra la palabra de Jehová, la cual no guardó, y porque consultó a una adivina, | 13 So starb Saul um seines Treubruchs willen, mit dem er sich an dem HERRN versündigt hatte, weil er das Wort des HERRN nicht hielt, auch weil er die Wahrsagerin befragt, |

And enquired not of the LORD: therefore he slew him, and turned the kingdom unto David the son of Jesse. | 14 y no consultó a Jehová; por esta causa lo mató, y traspasó el reino a David hijo de Isaí. | 14 den HERRN aber nicht befragt hatte. Darum ließ er ihn sterben und wandte das Königtum David, dem Sohn Isais, zu. |
